World of Aluvia #3

Dragon Redeemer

Rate this book
Four years have passed since a fairy swarm released the voice of prophecy in Nell Brennan. In that painful moment, a skilled warrior became a reluctant leader and defender of Aluvia’s magic. Now a new enemy threatens their still-fragile lands, one Nell feels powerless to stop even with help from the voice within her.

A mysterious dark alchemist from the Ice-Locked Lands is rising to power on the strength of his sword arm and an ice-breathing dragon obedient to his command. He promises unlimited magic to his followers and death to those who defy him. If he takes over the ports, his corrupt elixirs will disrupt the delicate balance of peace between Aluvia's people and all magical creatures.

The voice of prophecy sends Nell and her friends to their enemy’s treacherous domain to find a sword of legend. Only the sword’s magic can prevent a return to a world of dying fairies and caged merfolk. But Nell’s up against the toughest foe she’s ever faced. In order to defeat him, she must master the unimaginable power of the sword―and the unwanted magic inside herself.

Magic in the wrong hands will bring misery to all.

Nell Brennan has started to hear voices, which on the face of it is nothing new, for often she is paralysed by a strange prognostic magic that she has no control over. However, this time the voice is talking directly to her, and no one else can hear it. It is a worrying new development.

Then news comes of a powerful alchemist who has mastered dragons and other magical creatures and can now bend them to his will. This mysterious man threatens to destroy everything Nell and her friends hold dear. But to defeat him, Nell must embrace the magic inside of her. If she does not, then certain doom awaits the land of Aluvia, for no one, whether that be human or magical creature, will ever be safe again.

The world that Ms Bearce has woven is the most magical of places. It is a place where mythical creatures live alongside humans in relative harmony. Through Bearce's most captivating prose it is easy to imagine fairies, griffins and snow spirts. And of course the dragons, who are a proud and noble race. The dragons are the rulers of the skies and bow down to no one — apart from the windsteeds, but no one has seen one of them in years. I was completely captivated by the world Bearce has created. I felt as if I could feel the cold of the snow on my hands and the hot breath of a dragon on my face.

Nell is a very strong character who hates the magic she has been 'gifted' with and would love to go back to doing what she does best — being a warrior. But fate has other plans for Nell. When the prophecy calls for her to save Aluvia, she does not shrink from her responsibilities but faces them head on and with a courage that is wondrous to behold. The task ahead seems impossible, and she has her moments of doubt, but her struggle to fight the corrupted magic and to see past the anger and the hate and find in her heart love and compassion makes for a compelling read. Nell is not alone in this journey, her friends are steadfast in their loyalty to her and are willing to, quite literally, travel with her to the dangerous unknown to help her save Aluvia.

Dragon Redeemer is book 3 of a series — I have not read the other books, but I didn't need to. This book stands tall and proud on its own merit, although I have to confess I will definitely be reading the other two books in the series as soon as possible, for I want to return to this fascinating and wonderful land.

This book was pure escapism for me. Time seemed to stand still while the pages flew by. This is a sit-down and finish book and one I would not hesitate in recommending.

I Highly Recommend.

*Thoughts*

Dragon Redeemer, by author Amy Bearce, is the third installment the authors World of Aluvia series. Nellwyn (Nell) Brennan was first introduced in Fairy Keeper in something of an antagonistic role. She served as a foil for Sierra, with a more aggressive personal style. Nell was an enforcer for the ruthless gang of drug-dealing alchemists who was doing what she had to for her family's safety. Nell has struggled with the role she's found herself in the last few years--acting as an unwilling mouthpiece for a mysterious voice advocating balance among all creatures and proper stewardship of the world (usually at the least opportune of times).

The story that connects earth (fairykeeper), sea (mer-charmer), and sky (dragon redeemer) - more appropriately title warrior of Aluvia or sky champion or maybe the wind guardian....

The story began four years after the fairy swarm gives Nell Brennan the voice of prophecy. The skilled warrior became the defender of Aluvia. A new power threatens the still fragile land of Aluvia. Offering unlimited powers to his followers and death to those who defies him.

Anyway, this story defines politics. Two leaders, one who wants to lead in terror (dictatorship) and the other who listens to voices of people (democracy). When power struggles which one will you choose? The power that you follow because you are afraid, or the power that gives you the freedom to choose. But maybe the voice within ourselves dictates what to choose...

Earth is like Aluvia, a fragile world that is threaten by drugs (flight in fairykeeper), kidnappings and killings (mer-charmer) and politics ( dragon redeemer). It is a series that describe how earth is now. Earthquakes, tsunamis, war, terrorism, power struggles, etc., it's happening. We need to listen to the voice within ourselves to find the sword of legend to define what earth will be in the future.

A thrilling conclusion to this adventurous series. I enjoyed seeing all the characters journeying together for the final showdown. It was a great conclusion and definitely worth reading if you’ve read the others in the series.

I was very excited to continue in the World of Aluvia with book #3 Dragon Redeemer and it didn't disappoint. The excitement of dragons, a long journey and a long lost foe kept me up past my bedtime reading "just one more chapter". The author Amy Bearce draws you into the characters lives, so much so that when I'm not reading, I wonder what they are doing. I highly recommend the whole series for young adults and adults as well.

Loved this third book in the series, possibly the most of all of them, possibly because Nell's always been my fave. Nell 4 EVA!

Anyway, as the book opens, Nell's struggling with the role she's found herself in the last few years--acting as an unwilling mouthpiece for a mysterious voice advocating balance among all creatures and proper stewardship of the world (usually at the least opportune of times), and learning herb lore and medicine from her boyfriend Corbin's mother--as a former enforcer, she finds peace and quiet somewhat binding, and realizes that she's actually missing her days of wielding her sword.

And then a new danger comes along, threatening to overturn everything she and her friends have been working so hard towards, and her sword might just get some action once again! Only, naturally, that comes with another whole set of problems, and Nell has to figure out who she really is and what she really wants before it destroys her and everything she cares for as well.

I love the way Nell interacts with Corbin and Sierra especially, her companions from the first book, and that they have real conflicts with and real respect for one another. I love that they don't always agree with each other, and that they call each other out when needed, and have painful, awkward, real discussions about things. Same goes for glimpses of the ways Sierra and Phoebe have worked towards a new understanding after the events of the second book. Phoebe is so strong here, and I felt so proud of her! There's so much depth and tenderness and love in these relationships, and that's honestly what I love the most about this whole series.

But then, this book also deals with complicated issues--issues that seem especially relevant these days--in such a balanced and caring way, and a way that advocates change and redemption and forgiveness and atonement, which I can always get behind.

Plus, a fiery sword! Ice dragons! Mysterious cloaked figures! Blood magic! Epic battles! So, you know, there's plenty of action to be had as well, if that's more your thing.

One more note: a quick disclaimer that Curiosity Quills sent me a copy to read and review in advance of its publication, and that Amy is my friend, and that I've actually lost count of how many different iterations and bits and pieces of this book I read as she was in the process of writing it. But this final version is so amazingly perfect and unexpected that I found myself completely hooked even so. And I think this is a series I'll come back to again for rereads whenever I'm in the mood for something epic and sweet and tough and inspiring.

Well delivered, my friend--long live Aluvia!!!

Dragon Redeemer is the third and final book in the World of Aluvia. This one focuses on Nell, who has been hearing voices and needs to save Magic and the World from a Dark Alchemist. All the main characters from the first two books are also there.

Nell was a strong character, a real warrior. What I didn't like so much was the love interest. It felt a bit forced and unnatural, as now all three main characters have their tailor made love interests in the books where they feature as the main character. All in all, I'm not a big fan of the love subplots in most YA books these days anyway. Nevertheless, an enjoyable end to the series.

Thanks to the publisher for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Full review up on my blog: http://bit.ly/2r2IBN7

Now I hadn’t read that plot summary before I started reading this and I will confess I started the novel pretty confused as to what was going on and why I was supposed to care about various characters, but this book does a pretty good job of explaining what’s happened previously (without doing a TV style roundup on the first page). So quite quickly it’s clear who you’re supposed to be rooting for and what she’s currently up to.

Aluvia is an interesting name for a world, not the most creative I’ve come across but at least it isn’t difficult to work out how to pronounce it. Now this is a world with magical creatures, we’ve got Dragons, Snow Sprites, Wind Steeds (flying flaming wind horses) and we’ve also got merfolk and fairies. I have a feeling that the real benefit to reading the first two books in this series would be getting a better feel for what the original state of affairs for these creatures was because I’m still not sure I fully comprehend what went down. But the world is interesting (mainly because dragons and mermaids). What we don’t really understand, maybe because it was explained earlier and I haven’t read it yet, is how magic works. It would appear it can be put into people through various means but the affect of this and why this is the case was never made clear. Probably my fault for starting at book three.

Nell is a cool character. She’s a warrior who has had to accept a whole other mantle and run with it when really what she wants to be doing (at least some of the time) is hitting things with a large sword. Now I can relate to that, quite a lot of the time I would like to hit things with a large sword instead of dealing with them diplomatically.

The side characters were also really cool and it is basically for them that I want to read the first two books in this series. I’m intrigued as to how this band got together and I think the first two books will hold the answers. I mean fairy keepers and mermaids? That’s my Christmas.

The main thing I didn’t enjoy as much as I might have done was the romance. So often the benefit to starting a series nearer the middle/end is the main romance is already established and you can just enjoy it without all the angst. But in this instance there was still so much angst and just irritating mollycoddling which made me really dislike the main romantic interest. I wanted to like him but just couldn’t get past my annoyance, die hard fans please feel free to let me know how wrong I am.

I thought that this book was well set out, well paced and well written. It didn’t come across as overly descriptive and nor was it lacking. The plot felt well thought out and was realised in a timely way so you didn’t feel rushed or confused and have to go back and reread exactly what happened. There was a good old fashioned scooby doo villain in a mask reveal that I won’t spoil but to be honest, it is kind of predictable.

Also, there are dragons in this, fairly standard fantasy dragons, nothing particularly new about them, but they did make me very happy.

Final thoughts

I enjoyed reading this book, it caught me up and I wanted to know how the story ended. I’m not waxing lyrical about it now that it’s over but I will attempt to find copies of the first two books to flesh out my knowledge of the world. Maybe once I’ve managed that we’ll find ourselves back here for a recap? Only time will tell.

My rating: 3/5 I liked this but I didn’t love it.

Dragon Redeemer publishes May 23rd so you’ve got just enough time to grab yourself a copy either online or in a bookshop (support local business people!).

Nell is a warrior with a heart, who must struggle not only to find balance to save Aluvia, but also within herself.

Aluvia is healing, but the process has only begun and can easily be tipped back to the road of disaster. When 'The Dragon' appears, a man behind a mask with unheard of magical power, and states his goal of ruling of Aluvia and its magic, Nell and her friends are forced to step forward to try to stop him.

I did not read the rest of this series but had no trouble diving into book three and getting lost in the pages. The author skillfully brings Aluvia to life with details and vivid descriptions, which not only catch the eye but grab the other senses as well. The bread at the bakery, the smell of nature or even the sounds of the small villages bring color to this fantasy world.

The main character, Nell, is a young woman who has a violent past. Her key to survival has always lain with her amazing ability to handle a sword. Now, she's also discovered her talent as a healer and a prophet--thanks to a voice living inside of her. But the mixture of these three things is something she still hasn't really accepted. There's a lot to enjoy in Nell. She's strong, brave and very self-assured, while still unsure of who she really is and what her true path should be. Her struggles and concerns make her sympathetic and easy to cheer for.

But Nell isn't alone. The group of friends around her make it a real adventure. Each has their own talents and weaknesses, but even when they don't agree, they have each other's backs. It's a wonderful group, and if I had to go on adventure, I definitely want every single one of them with me.

There is romance, but it's a mature, already settled one. Corbin stands at her side not only as a love interest but as a true friend. Just as Nell is trying to find the balance of her three talents and what it means for her, she's trying to puzzle it all in with her relationship to Corbin. While she sees her warrior strength as her main asset, Corbin tends to push her toward a more quiet, healer side. So the two must find balance as well.

There's never a boring moment in these pages, and the heroes find themselves in one dangerous predicament after the other. There's a lovely dark mystery surrounding their opponent, The Dragon, although its not too hard to guess what his 'secret' is. There are twists and turns, although not all are hard to figure out. Some of the scenes, thoughts and reactions stumble a little but the book still grabs had holds until the very end. Especially fans of fantasy, magic, dragons and strong heroines are sure to enjoy this one.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and enjoyed reading this book enough to want to leave my honest thoughts.

I rarely mention book covers but the one for Dragon Redeemer is a near perfect representation of the story and of Nell. Nell is a warrior first. She keeps her weapons near and dresses in clothes she can move in easily. She is always ready for a fight. Her aggressive stance, her eyes staring directly out of the page whisper, “I see you…” It must have been horrible the first time the Voice took over her body. To lose control and become so vulnerable and unable to defend herself.

I have yet to read Fairy Keeper. It is waiting patiently on my bookshelf (books are very patient). The second book in The World of Aluvia, Mer-Charmer, barely has Nell in it at all. The little bit I saw of her left me thinking she was a benign peace-keeper; someone who kept Sierra in line.

From the very beginning of Dragon Redeemer, Amy Bearce ensures that we know Nell loves to fight. Nell loves to win and she rarely loses. Despite being the one the Voice has chosen to speak through, Nell hasn’t let go of her warrior heart and she doesn’t want to. She still practices her skills alone in the woods and gets to use them a little whenever Jasper and other members of his crew come to hassle her. Before she was just a body for the Voice to use. Now the Voice has begun to speak directly to her, in her head. How will her friends react when she tells them she hears Voice?

Aluvia is healing. Magic has returned to the land and the sea. Peace is spreading. Then a new threat comes to claim Aluvia for himself. The Dragon has found a way to control not just dragons but all the magical creatures of the Ice-Locked Lands. With their magic his to command, The Dragon plans to take over the whole of Aluvia within a matter or days or weeks. Thankfully, the Voice can tell Nell and her friends how to stop him IF Nell can keep her head and heart under control. A hard job when she’s been poisoned with The Dragon’s magic-stealing, soul-destroying potion.

I love that Nell is the warrior and chosen leader of Aluvia while Corbin, her beloved, is the one who dreams about the figurative little house and white picket fence. He wants Nell to become a healer and settle into his home community in peace. It is the biggest barrier to their future because Nell wonders if Corbin really knows her in those moments. She is a warrior and a good one but he worries every time she pulls out her sword. Once the Voice begins to speak to her privately, Nell begins to wonder if she even has a choice about her future. The Voice has a plan for her and she might have to give in to it… or lose her heart to The Dragon’s poison.

This is book three in the magical World of Aluvia. I have loved every book in this series each one gets better and better. You will not regret reading this stunning book series by Amy Bearce, from fairies, mermaids and now dragons. All my fantasy dreams come true as i delve into each book and learn more and more about our wonderful character Nell and how she learns to balance the most of the time unwanted magic that she uses to defend all of Aluvia and it magic creatures. The author way of weaving you into the story is outstanding.

Very nice storyline for Nell. I usually don't go for all for one and one for all but as YA it teaches some a good value. Some times you have to ask for help or at least not refuse it when offered. I want to see Corbin gain a little power and there were hints I'm looking forward to. I would recommend to YA readers. Gbash

Nell and her friends have matured, but their nature's have stayed the same.
There is a new threat to the world and to magic, should Nell listen to the Voice, which talks through her, and to her? Should she battle this new threat alone, or is she leading her friends into danger? Does she know the Dragon? Saving the world can be a lonely job and Nell has the strength and skills, but risking the lives of her loved ones may be two high a price to pay.
Ice and fire fight, beautiful mythical creatures are corrupted and amid it all, Nell battles to save Aluvia, magic and everything she holds dear.

You will not regret reading this stunning book by Amy Bearce, beautifully written, it captivated me from the first page, I loved how Nell struggles with each new revelation and comes to see how no one is an island, and how accepting the support of others is not a selfish act.
I couldn't put this one down, amazing imagery!

I really enjoyed this story. Even more so than book 2. I really felt connected to Nell, and she was very realistic and relatable. I understood and sympathized with her trying to balance what she wants to do, what others expect from her, and what she finds out she's meant to do. Also loved the assorted mythological creatures, I thought the concept of hot vs cold displaying good vs bad magic was really well done.
My one critique would be that I wasn't a huge fan of Nell's romantic relationship, it didn't seem like they were meant to be. But it grew me as the story progresses. Overall really enjoyed the story and seeing the characters grow, and learning more about the setting and mythology of the magic of Aluvia.

I received a copy of this book at no cost from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The third - and, I believe, final - book in the "World of Aluvia" series wraps up the stories of our six heroes - Sierra, Micah, Phoebe, Tristan, Nell and Corbin - quite nicely. While all six are involved, though, this is truly Nell's story.

In Fairy Keeper and Mer-Charmer (the first two books in the series) we are initially introduced to Nell as an enforcer for the ruthless gang of drug-dealing alchemists who was doing what she had to for her family's safety, and saw her grow into a new role as the host of a mysterious voice which spoke through her to the people of Aluvia about the need to rebalance magic in the world and maintain that balance so the world won't be destroyed.

By the time of "Dragon Redeemer," Nell has gotten somewhat used to the voice taking over whenever it decided a message need to be relayed, but she wasn't entirely at peace with it, nor with having given up her identity as a warrior to learn how to be a healer instead. While her boyfriend Corbin is thrilled with her transition into a peaceful way of life, Nell feels like she's setting aside an integral part of who she is.

This conflict - both within herself and between her and Corbin - comes into sharp focus when the group learns that a magic-user calling himself The Dragon plans to take over the world and declare all magical creatures - such as fairies, mer-folk, fauns and dragons - as subservient to humans, who can use them and their magical abilities however they want. To stop him, Nell will have to learn more about the voice that has chosen her as its vessel and find a way to reconcile her healing and warrior sides.

Much of this book, like Fairy Keeper, is taken up by a trek through unknown lands searching for something Nell needs to help her defeat The Dragon. Quest stories aren't always my favorite, but this one was better than many I've read, with a minimum of the side distractions that usually only serve to slow the heroes - and the story - down. And the last part of the book, after they've reached their objective is really good. Author Amy Bearce's descriptions of what is happening and how Nell is reacting are vivid and, in some ways, I almost felt like I could see it unfolding on a screen in front of me.

Nell is probably my favorite of the six main characters in this series. She's the most complex, and I find her quite relatable - and very likable, too. This isn't to say that the other characters aren't relatable or likable - they are - but there's just something about Nell that makes her stand out even more, at least to me.

I've noticed with a few series in the last couple of years that sometimes the author keeps escalating things until they become so big and out-of-control that by the last book (or books, in longer series) the situation has gotten so preposterous that I don't even want to finish it. That is most certainly *not* the case here. Bearce has done a great job over the three books of raising the stakes enough to keep things interesting and make the adventures important, without turning it into a metaphysical Gordian Knot that makes you want to turn your brain inside out to see if that helps it make more sense, and for that, I heartily thank her.

Review in Portuguese: http://pepitamagica.blogspot.co.uk/20...

This is third and final book of the series World of Aluvia. The first one was about Sierra, the second one about Phoebe and the third one is about Nell, although all of them had characters almost has important as these main female characters.

Nell is a warrior and she feels that her life is a bit out her control, since (in the first book) she was stung by fairies, survived and awakened the magic inside her, which made her a prophetess who spoke for Aluvia’s salvation. Although she understood the importance of her mission, and how much her life had improved with it, Nell misses… not really fighting, but the feel of having a sword in her hand, so to speak. And Corbin, her love and fairy keeper, doesn’t understand her hunger for something more than just being a prophetess and a healer.

When Aluvia finds itself confronted with a new villain than wants to steal magic from magic beings and make them all obey him (in his mind giving the power to humans – meaning him), Nell, Corbin, Sierra, Micah, Phoebe and Tristan find themselves in a new mission through iced lands.

Nell is haunted by dark magic that pulls to the surface her worst traits and she has to fight not only a physical battle, but an emotional one as well – not just for who she really is, but for her friends too. I really liked seeing how much she had evolved since the first book.

I don’t want to spoil the plot for those of you who might want to read this book, so I’ll just say that magic is still the main theme, with interpersonal relationships going through several tests. I was a bit sad that most of the book is just Nell (and Corbin), and I missed the rest of the group – they were there, but it was almost like they weren’t missed or needed, which I didn’t feel in the previous books. It’s true that are moments when Micah and Tristan’s magic is indispensable, but it’s not really their magic (as individuals) but Earth and Water magic, which could have been used by other characters (had they been created, of course). Sierra was probably the least important and present character for me, which was a shame. I wanted to see some bonding time between these enemy-to-friends girls, and maybe have Sierra support Nell a bit more. I wish there had been more interaction between the whole group of friends and not just Nell and Corbin, and Nell and the Dragon (the villain, the man that wants to steal Aluvia’s magic).

I liked Reading about Nell’s interior fight and how the voice that made her a prophetess manifested itself throughout the book and I enjoyed the ending particularly, which included a story of redemption and evolution. It was a good ending for this series although it missed some crucial points.

I received an ARC from Curiosity Quills Press in exchange for an honest review.

When I was contacted for the chance to read this book, I was so excited! I had absolutely loved the first two books in the series. This third one did not disappoint and I finished within two days of starting it.

The third installment in the World of Aluvia series, is about Nell Brennan. Nell is rough around the edges but is doing her best to bring messages of peace and healing to Aluvia. Compared to the heroines of the first two novels, Nell is more of a warrior who is struggling to find a place in the world that is not related to the battlefield. She also has a hard time trusting in herself and others as she as been hurt deeply in the past but it does not stop her from trying her hardest to do what is right. It also takes her time to appreciate and accept the "magical" gift that was given to her.

Amy Bearce has created such a beautiful, magical world where humans and magical beings live together side by side. Her writing is very descriptive and easy to follow. I also enjoy that each installment is somewhat connected and that you can see what is happening in the same world, with the same characters but each story is told from someone else's point of view. You do not need to read the first two novels to read this one, but I would recommend reading them in order as there are a few (very) minor parts that may make more sense if you do.

I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys fantasy, YA novels!

Maybe I would have liked this book more if I had read the first two books. I won this book in a giveaway and I was distracted by dragon and missed the three.
Bad magic is trying to destroy good magic. A basic fantasy plot.
Nell thinks she's Joan of Arc but she is trying to change to keep her man happy. Maybe if I knew how they got together I would feel differently but every interaction between Nell and Corbin screamed incompatible--this is not a good relationship.
There is a long list of friends but no character development. I honestly couldn't tell them apart. The author's blurb at the end suggested the other books were about other characters so I assume the reader is already supposed to know everything about them already.
The villains were just as bad. They were vague with just hints about how they must have been in the previous books. The main villain seems like, couldn't be, oh-no he is character which made no impact on me because I didn't really know what he was beyond what is remembered by Nell.
The problem with many quest stories is that travelling is mostly just that and it's dull. Authors don't seem to want to leave gaps in the timeline. There are a few exciting incidents in this book but there is also lots of filler which is Nell whining about how her boyfriend treats her.
The ending was nauseating and didn't answer the real question: why did the magic turn evil so it can be prevented from happening again. I just skimmed the last two chapters to get the book done.

It has been four years since the fairy swarm released the inner voice of prophecy to Nell Brennan. Once a skilled warrior now a reluctant defender of Aluvia magic. Now that there is a new threat to the lands Nell feels lost and not prepared for what is about to happen. With the fate of the lands in peril and a dark alchemist using his powers to turn the people and magical beings against the ways by promising all the power they can handle . Now it is up to Nell and the rest to figure out what is up and she must defeat the man and master the power of the sword and take control of the magic within her.
Nell is well she is a very strong woman who is trying to keep her life separate from the magic that is inside her. She is a true warrior in a sense that she will fight for everything that she knows is right. When she starts to hear voices that are pushing her in all directions . She seems to want things more and wants to fight for all. With the help of her friends from the fairy and mer - folk they will be able to try and conquer the man behind the magic and finally let everyone rest and live in harmony.
This is the last book in the series and I will admit that it was the most action packed book. The author weaves a magical tale that pits good against evil and there are times that you get a glimpse of what it is really like when magical and human can live together in peace and harmony. This series will have your teens turning pages while by the pool or at the campsite. So if you want a fantasy series that will take you through many lands check it out .

I received this eBook from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I have to say, out of all the three books of the world of Aluvia, this is possibly my most favourite.
At first, I wasn’t too keen on Nell, when I read about her in Fairy Keeper. But she really grew up in this book. She embodies everything people look for in a strong heroine. She is strength, determination and while she is a tom-boy by our Earthly standards, her connection with Corbin was lovely to watch.

I love books that go on grand adventures. Instead of the two sister’s this round, it is Nell who has to follow the prophetic voice inside her head to the Ice-Locked Lands in order to save Aluvia from someone trying to steal the land’s magic. This someone is eerily familiar to Nell as well. A reminder of her past where she delved into organized crime to provide for her family.

This is a great trilogy for your kids to grow up with. Especially those who are in middle grade starting with Fairy Keeper. As Sierra, Phoebe and Nell all grow up and learn their paths in life, find their life partners. It is a great timeline for that and each girl is an inspiration.

It was great to revisit the world of Aluvia. Nell is one of my favorite characters, so I was hoping that the 3rd book would center around telling her story. Nell has a funny way of treating her enemies in the old crew. Let's just say the initial scenes amused me greatly. I like how the plot developed with the mysterious enemy threatening Nell and they get into a couple of cool fights. I enjoyed how the magical creatures are portrayed in this book. The descriptions are realistic and really draw me in. At one point later in the book I can feel the pain of the mother dragon. Another thing I liked was the relationship that Nell had with herself and the prophetic voice. There was some internal wrestling that was unexpected and unique. This is not your typical fantasy book. I give it 5 stars as it is a fitting end to the World of Aluvia series. I'm hoping that there are more in the series. I'd love to continue the adventures.

But here is a snippet and overview of what I thought:

Overall, I thought that this book was just incredible. I absolutely had a ball with this book and could honestly hardly put it down. Whenever I looked at the time and realized that I should probably stop reading the book and study, I convince myself that one more chapter would do it. But it never really did. I was really happy with the development that the writing style, story arc and characters underwent. Thank you to Curiosity Quills Press for sending me a copy of this book! I am so so happy that you sent it my way!

I’m truly in awe over this series, and this book was the best one yet. I loved meeting Nell in Fairy Keeper-she was tough and brave and her and Corbin paired so beautifully. In Dragon Redeemer Nell isn’t sure what she is. She knows she needs to fight the Dragon (a man who has stolen the magic of dragons and other creatures) and end the destruction. But this journey takes Nell through a very self-healing trip. As she continues toward the Tree of Life and the sword that can defeat him Nell learns truths about herself and her friends and how she wants to live. And love. There are so many beautiful creatures in this book. Nell meets a wind dragon. With flaming wings. If that doesn’t peak your interest I’m not sure what will. I loved this book and seeing Nell’s soft side.

The conclusion of the captivating Series! Nell had a lot of bad deeds in Her past. And right now się tries to redeem herself by helping Sierra and Phoebe (I recommend to read books 1 & 2) in taking Care of their duties.
Suddenly Her past is coming for Her. She will have to deal with it. But will się manage to fight it?
This one was a GREAT story into your own and That your Road can be anything, but it's your own choice!
Nell's story is Full of suspense and angst so be prepared to be drawn into it!

Book Title: Dragon Redeemer
Book Author: Amy Bearce
Rating: 5 stars

This is a wonderful ending. It's hard keeping characters true to themselves. In book one, Nell was very different but she grew up well and kept her sense of self. I like how she kept herself strong while also learning to be soft for the man that she loves. Nell gained a lot of power and she learned that having friends is a good thing. Loved the dragons and the air horses. ^_^

Well done!

A great ending for an awesome series!!! But I have to say that I am sad to let this world go, hope we have some spin offs!! Dragon Redeemer is the story of Nell; yes, Nell, the one and only who used to be a smuggler for Phoebe's dad. I loved to see her grow into her new role in Aluvia, loved how quick paced the book is and how it twists and turns keeping me guessing what will happen next. All in all a great series that I truly recommend for middle students and those of us young at heart

I really really liked this book! I actually enjoyed it more than Mer-Charmer and I quite enjoyed that as well. I'm looking forward to see what else Amy puts out! Definitely give this trilogy a read if you're looking for amazing world-building with just enough magic and allure mixed in with the all too human characters.

I loved this last book of the World of Aluvia series, I just wish there was MORE BOOKS in the series. I love this series but don't want it to end, but the ending was good, with having the strong independent Nell, learn that it is okay to stay yourself but you can accept help from others. And that you are not alone in the big big world. I hope you try this book and enjoy it!!!

Beautifully written. Amy Bearce does it once again! I loved her second book, so I could not wait to read the third installment! I could not put it down and read it in one go! If you like YA fantasies, this is for you. I also recommend her other novels. Just delightful!

We get Nell's story now!! Nell has done some pretty awful things in the past books but this is her turn to redeem herself. She is helping Sierra and Phoebe and now her past is coming back to get her. You have to read the conclusion in the series!!!!
