However, a mission he carried out in Africa against the rebel leader of The Leopard Army still haunts his dreams because the shot that ended the life of the sadistic killer also brought about the failure of his marriage. But they also have targeted Colt’s estranged wife Sloan, and the two find themselves thrown together again as they become the prey of the vicious hunter known as Nimrod. I completely enjoyed this book. Sloan has left her former life and her husband far behind. Things happened that were too much for her to take and now she lives moving from place to place as a fill in nurse. The problem is when the past catches up to the present. Colt has never stopped loving Sloan or hoping that they will reunite. He just didn't expect their reunion to go quite the way Nimord has planned.
The author did a good job making me like the characters here. The story flowed well and there was romance, suspense and action throughout. There were several times I thought the story was going to go one way and the author took it in a different direction. I wasn't surprised by who the bad guy was but it did make me sad the way it all went down! I want to read more about the Firebrand family and see what happens to them.
It was a 5/5 for me. While it is the second in the series, that doesn't take away from the story at all.

Thank you to the author for the review copy of this book (via BookFun Mag). I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

After over 100 successful missions as the sniper Gray Feather, Colt Hanson has walked away from active duty to training others at the Firebrand Training Center. The Firebrand Brotherhood has all transitioned from being a covert arm of the CIA to being trainers for any law enforcement officers who need it. This has allowed them to pursue civilian lives in relative peace. While Colt enjoys the safety of the training center, he can’t forget his mission in Africa that brought down the leader of the Leopard Army but also ended the life of his unborn daughter and ultimately, his marriage.
Sloan Hanson has been running for 5 years from the grief of losing her baby daughter. Beaten nearly to death by Nimrod, second in command of the Leopard Army, she can’t seem to forgive her husband, Colt, for starting the chain of events in the first place. Traveling from job to job as a replacement nurse, Sloan manages to keep her grief on the back burner until one night Nimrod shows up at her clinic, taking her captive and killing three people to get to her. Used as bait to trap Gray Feather, Sloan fears that BOTH of them will die at the hands of this madman.
When Colt receives a text message featuring pictures of a battered Sloan, his panic knows no bounds. He follows instructions, ending up in Dallas, TX. From there, he uses his tracking skills to find the place Sloan is being held. He arrives in time to create a diversion as he sees Sloan escape out the back door. Can the two of them stay one step ahead of Nimrod and his cronies when it seems that someone else is working against them? Will they be able to work together when it becomes apparent that their love never died even though their marriage did?
This book was INTENSE! Every time I thought, “Whew! They got away!” Nimrod would show back up in their rearview mirror. It soon became apparent that someone they were trusting wasn’t very trustworthy. Safe houses weren’t safe. New transportation was traceable. Even bodyguards could be compromised. If you love suspense, this was one of the best I’ve read recently! I definitely recommend Hunted (Book #2 in the Firebrand Brotherhood series).

My Review:

Number 2 in the Firebrand series takes us through what Colt Hanson has had to enure since he left his former life behind him a life that he thought was over but apparently is still chasing after him. Hunted, is full of crazy, crazy suspense. I have read this author's work before and reviewed it but I think she really has a knack for this genre more than any other. It is literally a made for TV book that you simply can NOT put down.

Colt and Sloan have to master this one together. Colt's estranged wife is in danger and he has to keep her protected because her life is at stake. But soon it is made known that both of them will lose their lives if they do not cooperate with the infamous Nimrod.

Hunted by Sandra Robbins
Have read others prior to this from the author and this one I know will be filled with action, adventure and a bit of romance.
Starts out with Gray Feather(Colt) and the solo assignment he and others were on in Africa, he still has nightmares about the night he had to kill the leader.
In the present day we find Sloan, his estranged wife of over 5 years, an RN who travels where needed for short periods of time has been abducted by Nimrod and he wants Colt to come rescue her...she always knew Firebrand and his missions would come first-not her in their marriage.
Now the group wants revengence and they are after him. Details are given to us as we read, about the past.
What I like about this book is the author writes so descriptively that she makes you feel like you are right there experiencing it for yourself-the sights, sounds, smells. Also you get to first hear his side to the story/mission then her side from each of their perspectives. Also from the killers viewpoint. The places and things they see and experience is an adventure in itself.
When Colt is not on assignment he lives and trains others as snipers (police officers, etc) at the Firebrand training center. He needs to find her and live up to his wedding vows that he'd always protect her. The mole informs others of Colt's plans and he has to be more than alert on his journey...
Nimrod and his bandits have come to the US to sell a huge diamond but his revenge he wants to deal with first. Others in the party think otherwise...
Meditation garden and praying, could it save them? Excerpt from the next book is at the end.

I have eagerly been awaiting the second book in the Firebrand Series. I plunged into the book and never stopped till the very end. It packs a whooper of a punch with action, deceit, second chances and surprises that will having you gasping for air. The author once again has written a story so intriguing that I devoured every page. Yes it is that good. The author is at the top of the list right along with Lis Wiehl, Dee Henderson, Richard Mabry and others who write with depth and intensity. I'm not comparing her to these authors , just letting readers know that she is a superior writer and can go toe to toe with others and keep her readers anxiously wanting more.

Colt and Sloan have been married for awhile. After a heartbreaking loss, Sloan decides she can't stay with Colt and leaves him. But something will bring them back together that could cost them their lives. Who is after Colt? Will this person use Sloan to lure Colt into a trap? Sloan and Colt will have to be smart, trust the Lord and rely on their instincts to stay alive in this action packed book. I loved the intricate details of working undercover. Gray Feather otherwise known as Colt is a very skilled military sniper and his skills will be put to the test in this dangerous game of being the hunted. They must stay one step ahead of Nimrod who is desperate to seek revenge. Why does Nimrod want to kill Colt? Can Colt trust everyone who is helping him? Be ready for an unforgettable story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I can't wait for the next book in this series that I'm sure will be another explosive , action packed , well written book.

This was such a good book. I think this might be my favorite in this series. Again the Ms. Robbins created characters that you relatable in their struggles and quest to have a family or belong. The dialogue for the hero brought tears to my heart but also hope. It reminded me that we are not alone in this life and they are other going through the same things.

I appreciate this author’s ability to pull the reader into her story. You feel the pain, sadness, happiness , friendship and love flowing through these characters. You want to be part of a brotherhood like The Firebrand. Their loyalty to each other is admirable. Just reading about how they would drop everything to be there for one another reminds me of what Jesus calls us to do for our brothers and sisters. We all need relationship like these in our lives and the only way to get it is by having a relationship with God that allows his word to transform you and your thinking.

I am so looking forward to Reese’s story.

This suspenseful romantic mystery is the second book in the Firebrand Series, a sniper military organization that deals with international problems under the cover of secrecy. In the first book, one of the missions of the hero, Colt Hanson, (which he successfully carried out), had been to kill the rebel leader of an evil African group. This story is the continuation of the first book, but six years later.

Colt wanted to leave that way of life forever. However, Nimrod, another from that African group, declared he would avenge the death of his leader by finding and killing Colt. He believed the way to lure Colt was to capture his estranged wife, Sloan. The story builds as Colt and Sloan must work together to escape the clutches of evil, sadistic Nimrod and their feelings for each other rise to the surface. To compound the difficulties, there is a mole in the CIA organization. Ultimately, the two enemies confront each other with deadly consequences.

This book was full of intrigue and definitely held my attention. I highly recommend it.

“Hunted” is one suspense filled page after another and I had great difficulty putting it down for even one minute until I reached its end. It is a story of the lengths one man will go to to get revenge and illustrates the toll that quest for revenge can take on ones very soul. It is also a story of how far another man will go to protect the woman he loves but most importantly it is a story of God’s protection of those who follow him.

I enjoyed “Hunted” very much. The plot was well written and I found the characters to be well-rounded and realistic. It was easy for me to relate to Sloan’s feelings about Colt’s dedication to his work because I have a husband who was once married to his work. This story was filled with lots of danger and suspense with one twist after another. I found myself holding my breath at times – afraid of what might happen next. This is a real page turner that I would recommend to all who enjoy a good Christian suspense.

“Hunted” by Sandra Robbins is an excellent read. This is Book #2 in the Firebrand Series. This book follows the story of Colt Hanson (one of the Firebrand members) and his estranged wife, Sloan. A mission he carried out years ago is coming back to haunt him. The leaders have come back to take revenge on Colt for killing their leader. They are using Sloan as bait. Colt and Sloan are thrown back together again and not only do they have to try to figure out how to get free, they also have to deal with their feelings for each other.

This was a very exciting novel. It got my attention from the first page. I have read the first book in the series, and this one is just as good as that one. I have really enjoyed this series. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone, especially those that enjoy Romantic Suspense Genre.

I loved the first book in The Firebrand series and this one was even more suspenseful. If you want to read a great filled to the brim adventure you will not be disappointed. Once you start this series you will be on pins and needles waiting for the next.
Colt and Sloan have definitely had their mountains to climb. But in this book which is five years after the first even more challenges occur. Colt and his ghosts are back by the name of Nimrod. He has taken Sloan and now they must work together to try and escape this crazy man. Like I said hold onto your seats for a crazy ride full of adventure and romance that may not be dead yet???

Hunted is the third in the Firebrand Brotherhood series by Sandra Robbins, if you count the prequel which I do. It doesn’t disappoint. It’s fast-paced, action packed like the first two and leaves me wanting to know what happens next. I can’t wait to read the third (our fourth, depending upon how you count) in the series, Betrayed. I had never read Sandra Robbins before this series and she is an author I will be reading more of.

Definitely can’t wait for the last in the series. "I was given the book by Book Fun (The Book Club Network) and here is my honest review."

This series is fitting in better now in the Christian Romantic Suspense genre. The well written suspense makes it quite a page turner but there are some aspects to the lead female character that kind of irritated me and detracted from my enjoyment of the book.
