Jack Matthews came to the Montana Territory to track down an outlaw, not claim a bride. But the first time he sees Lily Lenox about to be run down by a stage, he discovers he doesn't want to let her go. For a spinster, blue-stocking such as herself, the offer of marriage from Jack is impossible to resist. In one day, Lily goes from innocent maiden to a well-loved and conquered wife. Happy and in love, Lily is content to wait as Jack leaves for work, promising to return.

Jack lied to his new bride. He’s not a businessman, nor a gentleman. He’s a Pinkerton agent going undercover. When Lily discovers his lie, she’s determined to track him down. All too soon Lily in trouble and neck deep in Jack’s web of danger and lies.

Warning: Panty melting! Lily is the fifth book in the Wildflower Bride series. It's is a wildly dirty romance with a determined heroine and obsessed alpha detective determined to make her his.

American west setting. Hero saves heroine. Love (or lust) at first sight. Married the next day. High steam, explicit language (imo), spanking, light bondage.

The H/h spends two days together before the hero has to leave to do a job as a Pinkerton. They ended up separated for six weeks. She somehow tracks him down and they’re reunited. A little bit of danger towards the end but ultimately a HEA.

I MIGHT BE THE ONE IN CHARGE, BUT YOU’RE THE ONE WITH ALL THE POWER

Lily Lennox has left home to work under a Doctor, but he won’t let her go on calls, hiring another Doctor to work with him, leaving her to pursue other avenues. She has many secrets, including working at a butcher shop, honing her skills with a knife. She suddenly meets Jack Matthews as he rescues her from a stagecoach barreling down the street towards her. It is an instant attraction for both of them and marriage the next day with erotic unbridled lust and passion. Throw in secrets, outlaws, undercover work, train and bank robberies along with a missing groom. Lily is a smart lady and not the only detective in the family but will her impetuous tendencies land her in serious trouble?

The plot of this story kept me captivated and the pages turning as Lily and Jack meet, marry, including their erotic encounter that sizzles the pages. The dialog is course, crass and honest. This story will read well as a standalone and unlike the others, we don’t see Lily’s sisters since she is staying in another town. Disclosure: I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions, and ratings are my own.

This book was more on the boring side for a Vanessa Vale book, and there wasn't much action. It was kind of weird that he married her and then ran off to be undercover without telling her. I did like that Lily was smart enough to figure it out on her own and that she managed to help her husband when he came to resuce her from the guys he went undercover to catch.

I enjoyed this stand alone book and the series written about orphaned women who were adopted and moved west. The sisters, all eight of them survived the journey west, so far the books are only about the eldest five sisters but they are all good books.

This is the most exciting book in the series so far. It is the story of Lily and Jack. They see each other and it's love at first sight for both of them. They have one day of courting and the next day they are married. Jack tells Lily that he is a Pinkerton Detective and not everything is as it appears to be.

Two days later Lily is reading about Jack as being Eli Pike a notorious train robber who has killed a man. She has to do some serious soul searching because he has just married a man who is wanted in her area. She works for a local doctor and has seen some very bad injuries and has a full appreciation for life. She doesn't know what to do.

If you read one Vanessa Vale book you have read them all. It's like all the MMC and FMC are recycled again and again. But I'm sure some will love it. As for me I only keep listening to her books because they are free on audible, mercifully short and many match reading challenges.
Great narration.

Unnecessary

Series fatigue. Barely original. Stick to trilogies.

This is just a redux of the first four books with a robbery thrown in.

I was bored.

We are back with the Wildflowers of Montana series and now it is Lily Turn too fall madly in love.

As always Vanessa Vale never fails this series is just brilliant and it pulls you in right from the first page, you can read this series in order or read out of it but I recommend starting from book 1.

Jack Job is brings criminals to justice, he as a Pinkerton. Whilst he is taking a few days off too rest in between jobs, he happens too save a stunningly beautiful red head from being run over by a stage coach.

One look is all it takes and he knows this feisty beauty will be his wife. And he will do this all and marry her before he leaves on his next and final assignment.

Lily has this feeling and she turns and sees the most handsome man ever. She's speechless.. which never happens and she just stops in her tracks...... Rather at an unfortunate time, as she happens to be in the middle of the street and in the path of an oncoming stage coach.

This sexy as sin man saves the day by saving her and he isn't done either when he politely informs her, That she is his and he is going to marry her. He makes good on his promise, and they get married the very next day. But in Marrying the lovely Lily, Jack doesn't realise that this job he has too do will almost tear them apart.... or will it?

Will Lily trust him too come back to her?

Will Jack realise that he has a wife now and she means more than a job?

Or will an outlaw come in between those plans of his when Lily Gets Kidnapped.

This book is so different from the others there is no interplay with the family which i have too say i missed allot. But non the less this book is great it is well written and is a fantastic read.

Lily had too be my favourite character as she is unlike any of her sisters she is super head strong and very independent especially in her career which of course will change know that she is married right?

Jack was the ultimate dominant man he seen what he wanted an knew she was his forever, i just love that idea of love at first sight its so swoon worthy.

A great read and I for one cannot wait too see which sister will walk down the path of love next.

Lily is the fifth book in the Wildflowers of Montana series by Vanessa Vale. Despite the times she lives in, Lily is an independent lass and a self-confessed bluestocking she is also full of sass and these character traits get her into all sorts of scrapes. Jack Mathews is a Pinkerton and chivalrous to boot. He is currently on an important yet dangerous mission. When he bumps into Lily in an unusual encounter, there is a mutual connection and he is determined to make her his wife. A traditionalist he is not daunted by Lily's feisty behaviour and he makes it clear that he expects her to use her intelligence to keep herself safe or else. Independent minded Lily has other ideas. Since Jack who had promised to return to his new bride within two weeks has not returned she decides to do some investigating of her own into Jacks affairs. Besides, the newspaper article paints Jack to be a very different person, from who she believed him to be, the man she married. Her actions thrust her right into Jacks web of deceit endangering her. This is yet another sweet but steamy western romantic thriller. With plenty of curveballs Vale keeps the plotline riveting and one is glued to the book until the last page is read. Liberally interspersed with numerous sexxy hot erotic scenes her signature sensuality shines through. Moreover, she displays her mastery over her craft as the steamy encounters are anything but lewd seducing the reader who will be craving for more. She subtly blends lust, romance domination and submission creating a sublime experience for the reader. Vale also evokes the atmosphere of Wild West with her vivid descriptions of Montana, its people, their customs, thrusting one back to that period to relive life in the Wild West through Vales eyes. Despite this being, the fifth book it can be read as a standalone that climaxes to an HEA albeit abruptly for Vale.

Lily of the Valley & her Jack of all trades!!

**I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.**

Lily is the latest book in the ongoing saga of the Lennox sisters and the men in their lives who challenge them. After Jack and Lily lock eyes in town one day, necessitating Jack's rescue of a stunned Lily from a stagecoach bearing down on her in the street, it's installed-love with just one look. Jack has already decided that Lily will be his wife, but he o Lynn has two days to convince her before he must leave town on his next job.

Jack is a Pinkerton agent who must go undercover as a bank robber to catch a notorious gang and he is concerned and worried about what Lily will think of him after she reads what will be printed about his escapades. This makes for a very interesting relationship since IMO, two days isn't enough time to really get to know someone.

My only complaint (a minor one) is that I would have loved reading more about Jack's whirlwind two-day courtship of Lily that got her to the alter, instead of the abrupt "I'm Married" and now it's time for the consummation. Still, this was a fabulous western romance with plenty of intrigue, suspense, action, and sex. One by one, the sisters are going down for the count and each man is definitely the one for them.

If you have been keeping up with this wildflower series, Lily & Jack's story won't disappoint. If not, I highly recommend getting acquainted with the sassy and spirited Lennox sisters and the men who set out to tame them. I am looking forward to the final two sister's adventures and I hope Vanessa might consider doing a follow-up story with all the couple's together, maybe a holiday themed adventure?!?!?

Eek! This series just keeps getting better and better! The latest instalment is a little different to its predecessors, in that it has an insta-love storyline which I adored.

Lily Lenox is literally struck dumb when she spies Jack Matthews for the first time and is nearly run over by a stage coach in the process, but is rescued by our hero.

The once confirmed bachelor is not unaffected himself and immediately resolves to make Lily his wife. The only complication?! He only has two days to woo, marry and deflower her before he sets off on one last assignment tracking a notorious bank robber; an undercover mission no less! Last assignment, I hear you ask?! Oh, did I forget to mention that our hero is a Pinkerton detective…..

The chemistry between Lily and Jack is, as always, second to none. Lily wants to dive head first into these heady new feelings, but Jack wants to cherish each one:

“This is my last first kiss, precious. I want to savour it.”

Jack promises to return within two weeks so they can begin the rest of their lives together and implores Lily to trust in him and ignore anything she may hear. Yet as details emerge Lily is unable to reconcile the events with the man she knows and in typical impetuous Lenox sister style sets off to seek the answers. Unwittingly putting herself in danger; can Jack rescue her in time?

I loved Lily and Jack together. They are the home that each other’s souls have been seeking even if they didn’t realise it:

“Where do you belong, Jack?” ……” Wherever you are, sweetness.”

I can’t wait to find out which sister falls next.

This book is sexy, fun, and sweet. From the beginning to the end it's nonstop hot sex. I've read the first four books in the Wildflowers of Montana, and I have to say this one is my favorite. I promise you will fall in love with Jack, and Lily will make you smile and want to give a high five when she uses her knife skills :)

This is the next of the sisters, Lily. Just like her sisters she is a spitfire. When a detective crosses her path sparks fly. He has only 2 days to make her his before he goes undercover trying to catch bank robbers. Unfortunately for her, she only knows that her now husband has to leave for 2 weeks on an assignment. Six weeks later he is still gone. But Lily being smart, figures out where they will be and "just happens" to be in the bank that they rob. Which sets off all kinds of fun as her husband "takes" her as a hostage. Lily just can't stay out of trouble. Jake has his work cut out for him. They have a hot steamy romance that leaves you wanting more. I received an advanced reader copy for my honest review. I can't wait for the next sister and her antics!

Jack sees a woman standing in the middle of the road, about to get run over by a stagecoach, and is instantly in love. First he has to remove her from the path of the stagecoach and then he has 2 days to convince her to marry him before he goes out on his last job as a Pinkerton. Lily can't believe this man wants her, just like that. They marry and then he leaves her. He says it will only be for a week or two, but that stretches out to several weeks. Lily also sees in the paper that he is a train robber and murderer. That isn't the man she has come to know, she now has to find him to find the truth.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. While Lily is book 5 in the Wildflowers of Montana series it totally works as a stand alone novel. When Lily sees Jack it is a case of love at first sight for both of them. Jack has two days to marry her and convince her what they have is real before leaving on an undercover job that he cannot explain to her. The chemistry between the characters is sweet and funny and, while the story is a little predictable, that doesn't take away from the enjoyment of reading it. I've not read the other books in the Wildflowers of Montana series but if they are anything like this one, I know I will enjoy them.

I am really enjoying this series. It is fun to see who is going to be paired with this eclectic group of "sisters" and Lily is paired with a Pinkerton detective in the perfect way. To say it was at first sight is an under statement but true and Lily being so intelligent and, shall we say, prickly, she is not going to stay put after they marry and she is left. What she discovers about her husband sends her in an turmoil but Lily does not let this stop her and Lily and Jack are perfect for each other.

I truly enjoy this series.

This is number five in the Wildflowers of Montana Series. If you haven't read the other they are a treat as well. I think this is the only one of the five that you may be able to get away with reading alone. Jack and Lily have one of those lightening strike moments and and it keeps on getting hotter. Love the idea of Jack's job getting in the way with his relationship and what he has to do to try to keep Lily out of it. I can't wait til the family gets wind of Jack and all he put Lily through.........

Lily Lenox went to Buute to learn medicine from the town doctor, but ends up his house keeper. Jack Matthews is a detective, he takes one look at Lily standing in the street and is mesmerized. After a whirlwind courtship they are married. Jack leaves on an assignment that he says will take one or two weeks. Six weeks pass and Lily does her own investigation. Lily and Jack are intelligent, sizzling hot characters and are perfect for each other. Exciting, sexy read. Fantastic!

Lovely Ladies

This family of 10 women in the time of Western Expansion was not a place women had many rights, but they had each other. For a woman to flourish she needs a man, but these women are no wilting flowers and they need a strong man to deal with a strong woman. This is the story of that and this is a great story. Totally loved this story and the characters. Such a fun read.

HOLY CRAP, this a smokin fun fast paced book. I am not a fan of period Westerns but this had me interested from about the third sentence and I couldn't put it down.
This book includes a great sexy dynamic couple, some hot sex and lots of romance. So sit back and buckle up and enjoy.

I really liked this book. It was a fairly quick read but it was a good story and it was HOT! I love Lily! She's feisty, smart, beautiful, sexy and naughty. Who wouldn't love that? And Jack knows just how to handle her too. They make a really good pair. I can see them going off adventuring together sometime in the future.

In this latest installment from Ms. Vale we are directed back to the Wildflowers of Montana series and again her readers will be well pleased. Lily is given more of a story line with depth than we have seen before. Fair warning though, the story is not quite as erotic as before but its hot and definitely takes the reader to a place they have never been before filled with greatness and hotness!
