Holy sh*t! This one totally blew me away! K. Webster delivered a fantastically written tale that for sure will keep you at the edge of your seat! Dark, sick, disturbing, graphic, this story will f@ck-up with your head and will make you cringe so many times. Needless to say, this book is not for everyone. Don’t expect hearts and flowers or a typical, conventional romantic relationship reading this one. Nothing about these characters’ story is conventional and every single one of them is f@cked-up in some way or another.

“She’s a heavy drug I want to shove into my vein. Even though I’ll hate myself later for succumbing to using. To feel the intoxicating bliss as it infiltrates every nerve ending in my entire system. It’s darkness feeding darkness—and she’s oh-so fucking dark.”

Nadia is a young girl whose entirely life changes when she moves with her mom and her stepfather, Donovan Jayne, a wealthy, handsome billionaire from Argentina to U.S. She tries to adjust with her new life and with her new stepfather who seems inappropriate at times. On her first day at school she meets Kasey, who’s abducted right before her eyes. Nadia is left unconscious and when she wakes up she doesn’t seem to remember anything about Kasey’s kidnapper. She feels guilty because she can’t remember anything useful for the police to find her, over the years trying as best as she can to find out more about the kidnapper.

“My eyes lock with the monstrous ones I'd been so good at containing. His beast is running wild and free. And it's starving. Starving for me. "You're in so much fucking trouble, bad girl."

Years later, Kasey still hasn’t been found. Nadia is back in town and she seems to be engaged with the Chief of police, Logan. The relationship between them doesn’t seem “very conventional” and Kasper Grant, a police officer who works for Logan and who also happens to be Kasey’s brother figures that out pretty quickly. Kasper hates Nadia, he believes she is responsible for what happened with his sister, so he wants to make her pay in some way. The only problem is that he’s attracted to her. Time passes and Kasper slowly figures out that nothing is what it seems and that everyone has secrets.

“We all played parts that we're ashamed of."

'Sweet Jayne' was dark, suspenseful and very disturbingly graphic at times. From the prologue I was so engrossed in this story, I couldn’t put it down. I loved the fantastically way Mrs. Webster told this story. The story is twisted from start to finish and so very unpredictable. Needless to say I was left with my mouth hanging open numerous times. I loved every twist and turn and I found this story to be from the beginning very addictive. From the first chapter I was intrigued not only by the mystery, but also by these characters’ story and by the dynamics between them.

The plot was simply awesome, well-developed, complex and kept me intrigued with each and every chapter. The mystery, the suspense, everything really was done really well and all the twists were thrilling as hell and made my heart race like crazy. Needless to say I enjoyed the hell out of this read. Keep in mind the story is very graphic and disturbing at times. There were some scenes that really made me cringe and many readers for sure will be disgusted by everything that happens as the story unfolds. Mrs. Webster created some very fascinating characters. Each on them were interesting, flawed, messed-up and being in their heads was exhilarating to say the least.

Overall, this was another enthralling tale by Mrs. Webster that will keep you at the edge of your seat with its craziness. Dayum, I love this author’s dark and twisted mind!

So twisted...And so damn good! I loved this dark, suspenseful story. This was my first book by K. Webster, but definitely won't be my last. I could not put this book down!

Although the story is told from multiple POVs, the story centers on the heroine, Nadia Jayne. When we first meet her she is a seventeen year-old girl. She is new to the United States and trying to figure out the awkward relationship she has with her new stepfather.

On her first day of school, she meets another girl, Kasey, at the bus stop. Kasey is a bit of a rebel, smoking and dressing goth. The two become fast friends, bonding over their mutual disdain for their stepfathers.

However, the two never make it to school that day. A dark SUV pulls up and a man wearing a ski mask grabs Kasey. After a vicious kick to the head, Nadia is left barely conscious on the side of the road.

Years later, Kasey still hasn't been found and Nadia returns to town for the first time in over three years. An unusual incident prompts her to announce her engagement to Logan, the Chief of Police. Meanwhile, she's managed to catch the attention of Kasper, a police Lieutenant who happens to be Kasey's older brother.

In no time, her stepfather has figured out that she's back in town. He's determined to bring Nadia back home. It is clear that he doesn't like the idea of Nadia and Logan being together at all. It is also evident that Donovan and Nadia do not have a typical stepfather - stepdaughter relationship.

It also becomes glaringly obvious that Logan is an incredibly abusive fiancé. As Kasper begins to take note of Nadia's precarious situation, Logan seems to get increasingly violent. Kasper is torn between wanting to rescue this abused beauty and his desire to see her suffer for allowing his sister to disappear without a trace all those years ago.

I won't say much more because I don't want to give anything away. I will say that this story kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. If you like dark, suspense-filled stories, with flawed characters, this is a fantastic choice. This story was deliciously disturbing. I loved it!

I’m not normally into the dark reads. That’s not to say that I haven’t read my fair share but I mostly tend to eat up ROMCOMs and Sports themed romances. Well, this book right here has me not only wanting to dive heavily into this genre, but it also has given me a new author to obsess over. All I can say is that K. Webster is a freaking mastermind!! She delivered one hell of a story that had me on the edge of my seat and in the end feeling things for a certain heinous character that has me wondering if maybe I have lost my mind!!!

This is definitely not a hearts & flowers story and if you do not like taboo subject matter or violent rape scenes, then you should probably avoid this one. I do believe that you need to go into this one knowing as little as possible, so I will try to keep spoilers out of this review.

Nadia Jayne is a beautiful young woman who has just moved with her mom and stepfather from Argentina to the U.S. Her stepdad is Donovan Jayne, a seriously HAWT and sexy as hell Billionaire, who tends to get a bit flirty and inappropriate with Nadia. Let me just say this guy had my panties melting and I definitely was hoping for some hanky panky times between Nadia and Donovan. So, if that makes me a Pervy Perverson then I happily will accept that title!! Unfortunately, Nadia’s life is about to get a whole lot of complicated and scary when a girl she befriends at the school bus stop is abducted right before her eyes. Nadia is knocked unconscious by the kidnapper and when she wakes up, she has a hard time remembering details that could help the police find her new friend, Kasey. Nadia feels so very guilty and responsible for what happened and wracks her brain every day, trying to remember the events that led up to the kidnapping.

Soon she goes off to college and then Nadia is the next young woman to disappear. Her stepfather, Donovan, is driven to madness trying to find her. We get yummy and heartwarming flashbacks of cherished moments spent between the two. Three years later, Nadia turns up and is almost arrested for driving recklessly through town by a local officer named, Kasper Grant. Kasper happens to be the older brother of the girl who was kidnapped and boy does he have a lot of hatred for Nadia. He blames her for the kidnapping and not being able to help find his sister. Unfortunately for him, the Chief of Police, Logan Baldwin, shows up at the scene and tells Kasper to let Nadia go. Turns out, Nadia is engaged to Logan. Kasper is definitely not letting the fact that Nadia is engaged to Logan, get in the way of his need for revenge. He will soon learn that things are not at all what they seem.

 photo SweetJayne5_zpscpnf34fz.jpg

Nadia seems to have a terrible knack for attracting the wrong type of men, and her life with Logan is seriously all kinds of f’d up!! Logan is well known and respected in town, but the guy is into some hardcore BDSM. I wanted to kick this guy in the jewels many times and wished that Nadia would just leave him.

I tried to use my sleuthing skills but in the end, I didn’t figure it all out. I think this author is a masterful storyteller and she threw me for one hell of a loop when all was said and done. She definitely has one sick and demented creative mind!! And to make my heart warm up to a certain someone by the time I finished the book is truly proof that this author has some serious writing capabilities!

I really loved this book and now have got to find the time to read some more works of this fantastic author. SWEET JAYNE is available now. Make sure you one-click it!!!

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I loved every minute of this crazy, messed up story! I will say right now that Sweet Jayne is not for everyone. It is dark, twisted, and has graphic disturbing scenes of abuse throughout the entirety of the book. If you can deal with that, then this book is worth the read. It is gripping, and the suspense drove me crazy (in a good way). I was hooked from the very first page. My mind was racing the whole time I was reading trying to figure out what was going on and what was going to happen next. This is my first book by this author, and I am impressed. I will be reading more of her work in the near future.

4.5 Dark Stars!

Holy crap. This was some sick and f*cked up book, but it was so good and unpredictable that I just want to shout and give this author a one helluvah standing ovation.

description

First things first, this book is not for everyone. It's dark and literally twisted. It contains sexual assault and BDSM with a bit of dark taboo, so if these things don't sit well with you, then this book is not for you.

Sweet Jayne is a very complicated story. I don't even know where to begin with because the characters' lives are so messed up. Nadia Jayne is the heroine here. She's a young and beautiful woman who seems to attract every asshole she meets. When her mom married the rich business tycoon Donovan Jayne, her life basically turned in a completely different direction. It became worse when she met a new friend named Kasey who was kidnapped right before eyes. For years, Kasey hasn't been found and Nadia's guilt continued to nag her which led her to push through the investigation and seek the help of the authority with the assistance of her step-dad. That's the time when she met Logan, the Chief of Police in their town who later on played a significant role in her life. Another man soon approached Nadia's life-- Kasper, a.k.a. Ghost who's sole purpose was to hurt her in order to avenge her lost sister, Kasey.

I didn't regret my abrupt decision to read this book. This was not even on my tbr until last week when I've read my friend Candace's review which intrigued me and pushed me to dive into it. The story was unlike any other dark books I've read. Each of the characters were flawed in a f*cked up way but they're very interesting to read about. I loved getting into their minds, no matter how corrupted they seemed to be.

The plot was certainly the best! I loved how every chapter made me feel very excited to know what's going to happen next. The mystery was certainly there and it kept getting edgier page by page. There were tons of action scenes and cringe-worthy moments, too, which gave me the right amount of thrill.

Sweet Jane, overall, was a total page-turner. Certainly one of the best dark books I've read in my life! I highly recommend this book to fans of Killing Sarai by J.A. Redmerski, Captive in the Dark by C.J. Roberts, and Bang by E.K. Blair.

"Get ready, Nadia. I'm coming for you..."

K. Webster gifts a great dark suspenseful read that also has one hell of a delicious hero in Donovan Jayne. This story was perfectly paced, had just the right amount of romance and swoon, while gifting the perfect dose of dark and twisted, all amounting to a great read.

“Kasper thinks he hates her.
Donovan thinks he loves her.
Logan thinks he owns her.
She needs Kasper.
She hides from Donovan.
She has a plan for Logan.”

The story is about our heroine Nadia Blanco whose mom marries an American (holy hotness) and adopts her moving her to the states. She’s a great teenager pushing buttons and mouthing off when on her first trip to school something horrific happens that impacts her for years to come…

description

When Nadia is spotted back in town after falling off the grid for the past three years it causes quite a stir. Added to her reappearance is the fact that she’s engaged to Logan Baldwin, the head of the police department in the town and appears to be up to something.

”The lives of the ones I love depend on my ability to play a part.”

description

Kasper Grant another police officer in town has been biding his time to get revenge on Nadia for what happened all those years ago. Meanwhile, her adoptive father/love of her life and you know this scenario never works for me BUT in this book the author made it worked so well. I seriously have a crush on Donovan myself!

”I trust you still love me,” he says with his air of confidence I so love. “

description

The story has tons of twists and turns however a reader should be warned that the story does include a good share of sexual abuse. It’s a well executed dark story that has not one but two love storylines!

MY RATING

Half the sh*t that went down in this book I did not see coming, what a crazy crazy ride this book was, it was twisty, turny, dirty, gritty and hot..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

*The above teaser is off the authors Facebook page, it is not made by me*

Ok here's my advice before you jump into this book, heed the warning, even grab some booze because your going to want to numb yourself whilst reading this, expect the unexpected, there is no puppy dog love in this book, the sh*t that went down in this book only an author can come up with..And even then that author might have 0800 therapy on speed dial..
Good luck!!

WARNING: Story contains dark taboo themes and violence both sexual and physical which could trigger emotional distress in reader.

Like a sicko the only reason why I jumped on this was because of the authors warning, oh and because I crazy love this author so like the sick puppy I am anything that states it's going to deliver dark taboo themes I've got to read it!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Anything by K. Webster you need to have an ounce of trepidation when taking that plunge reading anything of hers, so pull up your big girls panty's expect sick, twisted, and dirty because this author will deliver, heed that warning..

SWEET JAYNE: Kick starts us off in the prologue, the grittiness has already started.
The synopsis doesn't give much away, so you're pretty much going into this book blind, but that Prologue pulls you in so deep it doesn't let you out of it's grip. And you know it's going to be one crazy ride..

Thirty - Six year old DONOVAN is seventeen year old Nadia Jayne's step father whom she hates with a vengeance (in the beginning of the book) he gives off that creepy vibe..Jayne's hanging out for the day when she can leave and go off to College and get out from under his thumb.
He's very protective of what's his.

It's the way Donovan is. He protects and takes care of what belongs to him.
Always and without fail.

Today she's starting a new school, sitting at the bus stop waiting for the bus she strikes up a conversation with a girl named Kasey. These two just seemed to click.

A squeal of tires
A door wrenched open
Kasey is taken by a man wearing a ski mask

The eyes behind the mask are wild and crazy

Then we jump 10 years later.

Kasper thinks he hates her.
Donovan thinks he loves her.
Logan thinks he owns her.

Nadia has been off the grid for 3 long years, no one knows her whereabouts (until now)

Then we meet LIEUTENANT KASPER GRANT AKA GHOST he's the brother to kidnapped Kasey. He's got a world of hate for Nadia on his shoulders, his obsession for her runs thick in his veins, he's out for blood, vengeance in any shape or form and he won't stop until he brings Nadia down for not stepping in and helping his sister that fateful day 10 years ago.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Kasey was Logan's everything, they had been through so much grief in their lives that they shared a very strong bond because of it.

When questioned all those years ago about the crime scene Nadia couldn't remember anything.

Because of her lack of description of the man who took my sister, she single handedly ruined my life.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

LOGAN is Nadia's fiance, not sure what to make of his character, he's very very possessive, a little unhinged, he seems more f#cked up out of the three men.
One press of a button and Nadia's world could come tumbling down around her.

She needs Kasper.
She hides from Donovan.
She has a plan for Logan.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

MY THOUGHTS

Fark I feel like I'm on a carnival ride to the looney bin, this ride is twisty and turny with no stops along the way that I'm getting whip lash trying to work out whose the good guy, whose the bad guy what the hell is happening, is she really "sweet Jayne" or are we getting twisted up in a web of lies..This ride is cray cray!!

I liked Donovan even though he gave me the shivers down my back with the step daughter lust he had going on, clicked with Kasper, loved his character, once he got over all the hate and vengeance you saw such a different side to him, couldn't stand Logan and that never changed all through the book, one sick mother bugga, Nadia was such a strong resilient female, she was one tough b*tch..Her character was confusing in the beginning but then it all made sense..

What in the ever loving crap did I just read?!! Seriously, I could not stop reading this train wreck of a story and the craziness that took place. I'm going to hell for loving one of these characters so much but you know what?I.DONT.CARE. I'm going to shout it from the rooftop. ××××× I FREAKIN LOVE YOU! My god I was utterly invested in this book and I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen. You think you know? You have no idea.

Nadia Jayne was like any normal Seventeen year old. She had friends, a loving mother that would do anything for her, and even though they didn't have a lot of money, she was very happy with her life in Argentina. That is until until everything changes and her mother marries the wealthy Donavan Jayne and moves them to Colorado.

Having to start over in a new Country, new school and make friends, is not something that Nadia has on her list. But she's willing to make an effort for her mother and that includes getting along with her new Stepdad.
Being around Donavon is not something that Nadia loves especially when he's giving the creep o meter a banging ten on the scale, but in her eyes she just has to suck it up for ten more months and she's off to Colllege. She can do that right?

"She needs Jasper

She hides from Donavan

She has a plan for Logan

On her way to school, she meets a girl name Kasey and easily strikes up a conversation with her. One minute their deep into conversation and the next Kasey is abducted right in front of her eyes. At first she's in shock but when her instincts finally kicks in, it's becomes too late to save Kasey and longer she's gone, the more her guilt festers. Fast forward ten years later,Nadia is now an adult and has return home. But for the past three years, she's been incognito and has made a completely different life.

 photo 20160530_185139-BlendCollage_zpsypwtt2sm.jpg
Three men.

One woman.

Each has something that they want from her.

Kasper "Ghost" Grant has been haunted for the past ten years about his sister's abduction. Being a police officer, he's searched and done everything humanely possible to try to find out what happened to her but nothing has surfaced. He blames Nadia for not remembering anything about that day and he hates her with a passion for it.

When Nadia came back to town, all the anger and hurt that's he's bottled up for all these years, came back with full force and he's not going to stop until he gets revenge. But things get complicated when he learns that Nadia's fiance is Logan, who's the Chief of Police!

 photo tumblr_inline_moioobNnVF1qz4rgp_zpssjnbwmam.gif

This story was so twisty messed up, being the cray cray girl that I am, I loved it! I couldn't read fast enough and let me tell you, I haven't cringed while reading a book in a long time but this one? I was shuttering so much, I felt like I was on edge constantly. I kept waiting for the craziness to happen and even though I guessed part of it, it really didn't take away the enjoyment for me. What I loved about this book was the intriguement, the palpable sexual intensity and the final face off that made us invest ourselves in this story.

Even though I can't go into the plot anymore, what I will say is to just prepare yourself for this one. Some people might guess what will happen and get part of right but not everything. This is not a cookie cutter love story people. This is Nadia's survival and the journey that she took to get herself there to come out on top. How will it end.

Will Kasper get his revenge?
Can Donavon really let Nadia go or will Logan continue to think that he's all she will ever need? You just have to read it to find out.

5 Crazy, Wild Dark Stars

Every time I read a K. Webster book I keep telling myself this is the darkest book I’ve read. She always hits it on the nail and grips me by the pages. I feel like I need to block off four hours of my day because I know I will not be able to stop reading until I’m finished.

Sweet Jayne is a standalone and it’s dark, twisted and very intriguing. You will be questioning the book from the first to last page. It’s a mixture of suspense, mystery and romance. Yes, there’s romance. I went into this book blindly, but the premise is the perfect summary of the book. There are three players involved, Kasper, Donovan and Logan. Each man provides his own unique taste to the read.

-Donovan-

Nadia is a seventeen year old girl and her stepdad is Donovan. Her mother recently married and Nadia doesn’t know what to make of this. Donovan is a mystery at first. We don’t understand his motives, but we know for a fact he feels something towards her, good or bad, we don’t know.

Nadia then witnesses her best friend being kidnapped and that is the start of the book.

Nadia is never the same from that day forward and its ten years later.

-Kasper-

Kasper is the brother of the girl that got kidnapped. He’s a cop and he knows Nadia was the only witness to his sister’s kidnapping. He was to blame Nadia for it too, so he has pure hate towards the girl. The book is written from both Kasper and Nadia’s POV. Kasper isn’t the nicest guy and you kind of shake your head at him because of his hate towards Nadia. She was seventeen when it happened! But his feelings are his feelings and you question what role he plays in the book. He continues to seek out Nadia to get closer to her and plan his revenge.

-Logan-

But Nadia has a really protective fiancé, Logan. Logan and Nadia’s relationship is a BIG mystery to the book. We don’t understand what they have, but we know for a fact it’s anything but typical. Logan is cruel, mean and really, I was addicted to reading about the relationship. I couldn’t get enough of it. Why does Nadia stay with Logan? Why does she let him hurt her? So many questions go through my mind.

What really sold me on this book was the great writing. Usually I don’t like a huge secret throughout the book because there is one, but I didn’t really focus on that. I was too consumed by all the characters. I loved all the men in the book and for different reasons. I guess you can say I loved and hated some of them. I love a dark twisted hero with complex flaws and the author really delivered on that.

Nadia was also a mystery to me. At times you think she is weak, but then she isn’t. At times you think you understand her motives, but you don’t. You also get glimpses to her past with flashbacks and it makes you see her in a different light. It was always a mind trip.

It’s a crazy story and you are on the edge of your seat the entire ride. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Man does this author know how to spin a tale. I really enjoyed this one. I didn't find it particularly "dark" It was twisted for sure, but more in "Dateline Episode" sort of way.

It was well written, and kept me guessing straight through to the end. I do think it could have been a bit shorter. After the big climax, I thought it dragged a bit. The characters were complex and well written. Although, I was a bit angry and turned off by one character's reaction in the aftermath of situation. I didn't understand it AT ALL, and it made me sort of feel less sorry for plight. There is also a that seemed out of place for me. I didn't think it was needed, and it did distract from the main plot for me because enough time wasn't invested in this couple to make me believe this "insta-love".

There is romance in this, but "I" personally didn't feel it was a "romance" book. More along the lines of an erotic psychological thriller. Rest assured though, there is

Overall though, a very worthy book from this author.

There are times when I loathe to write a bad review, when I just can’t stand to be in the minority about a beloved book and choose to hold my tongue instead. This is not one of those times. This is one I relish.

I can usually find something, anything, one nugget of a grain of a thing, to like about a book. In this case—not so much...

Ten years ago, a girl was taken in broad daylight. Plucked right off the street and the only witness couldn’t remember much detail. That’s the premise behind the book. And it’s a good one. It gets the ball rolling on a whole who-dunit / revenge plot that sounds yummy. Until the first bite…

The title of this book should be changed to “Haven’t met a trope I didn’t love” because it’s full of so so much that the pot was overflowing and the could-be-good premise was spoiled.

What this book includes:

StepDaddy Romance—insta-love, online dating gone wrong, lies your mother told, no sex until it’s all hunky dory, an honorable “Humbert” for an innocent “Lolita”

Revenge…Sorta—imagined ways to hurt the one you hate, Clueless Deputy Do-Right that really believes he’s on top of his game in the observation department, rampant use of “stupid” and “bitch” as a means to express just how mad I am at you (in my own head) *optional imagined finger waving and foot stomping provided by reader’s own head*, a 10-year plot fizzle turned into “I know what I’ll do, I’ll fuck the stupid bitch, impregnate her and make her life miserable with joint custody” *I am not making this up, it’s in there*

Insta-love—*no I’m not repeating myself, this is a separate case of insta-love* Gee, I’m really sorry about the tragic death of my best friend’s prego wife who was your sister who was killed by the drunk driving of my wife-beating StepDad, but would you like to hook up tonight ‘cuz I’m totally in love with your super “light bright” aura you got going on and it’s really helping me to not thinking about the whole revenge plot/impregnation plan I got going on…so what do you say, can we go steady and like have the sex now please?? Oh, and I’m really sorry that the first time I dip my dick in you is right after I was just trying to do the same thing with my thingy with the “stupid bitch” that I’m starting to kinda feel sorry for after she’s had the shit beat outta her several times by my boss…but let’s not talk about that…and we won’t mention that you like to set things on fire either…*still not making this up, promise*

Take My Daughter To Work (off a debt) Day—Stepdad *not Humbert, the wife-beating drunk one* sold stepdaughter *not Lolita, the abducted one* to Stepdad’s Dad *that would be Lolita’s StepGrandaddy* *and no, I’m not making this up either, it’s in there, I swears*

Murder, Suicide, Cover Up, & Tattoos—the only actual revenge within the book and it took place before the prologue. Damn.

Abuse & Rape—every other page, take out the graphic depiction of abuse and/or rape and I’d estimate the book to be about 35 pages long *okay, I am making this up, but it really is used as a page filler a whole helluva lot…and that’s me saying this*

A Hypnotist & TSTL Heroine—our Lolita tried really really hard, like really, to find the missing girl—the one she talked to for all of 10 minutes 10 years ago—but darn that pesky bad memory. Maybe she was too distracted getting hot for StepDaddy to think straight?? The brilliant idea to see a hypnotist in Vegas is just the thing! But when that works, what does our Lolita do?? Does she confide the new clues to her selflessly-searching-along-side-of-her StepDaddy?? No. She’s too busy getting it on finally with StepDaddy for that. I’m kinda thinking “stupid bitch” is a better nickname for her than Lolita after all…

A 6-digit Code, A Basement, & A Pipe—Figuring it out is rocket science: over 10 years though…that’s like a lot of chances (@ 11 tries/hour)… And who installed this pipe?? And how exactly is it that an entire town and fellow cops all have missed that the single Police Chief has been buying an awful lot of feminine & kid products over the last 10 years?? *I am making this part up, because none of it was discussed in the book…but…um…*

“How do you feel?” I question, my voice low.
She whines. “Unsatisfied.”

WELL DAMN SO AM I.

I mean, what the fuck is this book???

I'm so mad with the whole plot. This time, I couldn't shove my suspension-of-reality excuse down the rug.

I am so mad. She clearly had so many opportunities to reveal what's going on to the people around her. Why the fuck is she so fucking dumb and overcomplicates things??!!! And there some things she did, that completely didn't make sense. Like, that first meeting between Kasper and Nadia on the side of the road. What did that achieve?? Huh? She kept saying she had this grand secret plan and in the end, it was just shitty underdeveloped plot!

And that ending. My god, why is the author trying to show the villain as a remorseful repentent caring man????

Needless to say, I hate this book.

Release Date: May 31, 2016
Genre: Dark Romance
POV: Multiple - 1st person
Heat: I don’t wanna talk about it
Type: Standalone

I’m a huge fan of K. Webster and recently realized that I’ve read the catalogue of her most recent books, but haven’t dived in to her older ones. So this was my first venture and holy freak it was a doozy.

Blurb
Nadia Jayne’s world is full of villains.

Kasper thinks he hates her.
Donovan thinks he loves her.
Logan thinks he owns her.

Sweet Jayne is a complicated girl…

She needs Kasper.
She hides from Donovan.
She has a plan for Logan.

But maybe complicated Jayne isn’t so sweet after all…
In fact, she might just be the biggest villain of them all.

To be honest, at first I found it hard to distinguish between players. Each character had a distinct voice but as the blurb says, Nadia may be the biggest villain of all. It was difficult to understand each motive and who was honestly the bad guy here because it started to feel like there may have been more than one.

This was just as dark and depraved as I’ve come to expect from K. Webster and yet, as is usual, it had it’s own unique twist that I never saw coming. I got who the bad guy was quickly, it was pretty obvious, but I didn’t realize how incredibly bad he really was. And the ending??? Was I supposed to feel bad for the guy? Because I didn’t. I couldn’t understand why he was given any consideration at all, but I guess Stockholm Syndrome will do that to people. And Nadia… why did she feel it necessary to do things on her own? She had no hidden special powers. She wasn’t proficient at any type of martial art for self-defense. She didn’t have a considerably high tolerance for pain. Again, why did she insist on doing everything on her own??? And damn, why are so many of the truly wicked and evil men this author creates so insanely hot???

You know those books you think you will love and everyone really likes them but there is something about them you just do not like.

 photo awkward_zpsvbdt679d.gif

I love a dark twisted tale and I loved this authors love and war series but this did not hit the spot for me, there were to many unrealistic elements.

It was also a bit of a case of:
 photo itsnotyouitsme_zpsiefzdzuy.jpg

As I had a real problem with Kasper one of the main characters, he just outright pissed me off!! I still have no idea why half the book was from his POV and I found myself skimming over some of his chapters not wanting to read them. His reasons for wanting to destroy Jaynes life make no sense and seemed over the top and melodramatic.

The one saviour of the book for me was Jayne, she was one kickass chick. She was strong, determined and loyal however her whole mission was again very unrealistic. Seriously after meeting someone for 20 minutes when your 17 years old you would devote your life to saving them.

So I did not love it and I did not hate it.

If i have to describe what i thought about this book, i'll just use this simple word: NO.

Absolutely fucking Not . Leonardo Di Caprio even agrees with me.

description

I tried to like this story. It's K. Webster's book, what's not to like? I swear i fucking tried but sorry folks, it didn't work out for me. I would rate this 1 star, but K. Webster is one of my favorite author and actually there is one 'okay' character here called Donovan, so i turned it up.

This whole plot was bloody sick, terrifying...and fucking ridiculous. It's actually so silly i nearly laughed if i didn't feel like screaming first. Let me tell you why this whole plot was so damn stupid.

One day, our sweet pretty chick called Nadia Jayne moved to US to live with her stepfather. She hated him so much because he liked teasing her and couldn't stop staring at her breast. He really offended her until one morning when she was about to go to school, an emo girl found her crying for her sorry life. They talked about how shit life could be and couldn't stop feeling sorry for themselves. Oh! They also talked about what would they do when they grow up. Unfortunately in the middle of the conversation, the emo girl was kidnapped by some freak. It was so fast that Nadia just sat there in shock. Since then, her life's goal was to find that emo girl she's been chatting for, like, ten minutes.

Unfortunately, the plot became too unrealistic and went downhill from here. Nadia was abused, raped, tortured, hurt, and all kind of mindgames that fuck her mind for what? SHE SACRIFICED HERSELF FOR A GIRL SHE MET FOR TEN MINUTES WHEN SHE WAS SEVENTEEN.

Iam sorry, but no. JUST NO. No sane people will ever do that. I know this is a fiction, but C'MON!!!!!!!

description

This plot was getting worse and worse. Kasper's goal to make Nadia suffer was fucking melodramatic. He acted like a depressed teenager, no shit. I was so tired reading his POV and the insta-love thing was so unnecessary.

Donovan, on the other hand, was another love interest in Nadia's life. He was actually her stepfather and he was almost 20 years older than her. However, given another insane characters in this story, Donovan felt like the only sane person, even though he couldn't stop lusting for his stepdaughter. If this ain't normal for you, just imagine how insane other characters here were. Nadia was no better. I found she was a goddamn idiot. Do you know what i would do if i was in her position, instead let a monster abuses me?

I actually didn't feel sorry for Nadia at all since the middle of the story. She asked that man to hurt her, to just fuck her roughly, put her on a guillotine etc, so she deserved that. I don't care if it makes me cruel to you or heartless, but that bicth actually asked that man to hurt her, she enjoyed the pain. Instead of trying to find some smarter ways to save herself, she let man walked over her.

So this is what i think about Nadia Jayne:
I don't give a shit.

ARC provided by K. Webster and IndieSage PR in exchange for an honest review.

Nadia Jayne's life was flipped upside down at seventeen, she's stuck in a town she doesn't know with no friends and a creepy stepdad. Who knew things could get any worse? 10 years later her world is full of darkness and villains. Sweet Jayne may have a dark side though, because she needs those villains just like they need her.

My eyes lock with the monstrous ones I'd been so good at containing. His beast is running wild and free. And it's starving. Starving for me. "You're in so much fucking trouble, bad girl."

Oh Nadia, the men you wrap around your fingers are so interesting and hot, if not a bit damaged. Kasper, Logan, and Donovan...what I would do for this book to be a bit longer so I could spend a little more time with each of you. I can't promise it would be for good reasons though. *wink*

The lives of the ones I love depend on my ability to play a part.

Sweet Jayne is a multi-POV standalone from author K. Webster that takes reader on a mysterious, suspenseful, and romantic adventure that will leave you guessing at every page turn. The characters are mysterious, yet extremely complex, it is impossible to follow the strings that connect them all together without drawing a map...or reading the book to the very end. Each character will bring out a bit of love and a bit of hate in you. Their pasts are twisted, their present selves formed from the darkness that each has carried with them since a tragic event 10 years prior. Like most K. Webster books things start out normal enough, but she'll drag you far out of your comfort zone without you even noticing and in this case the complexities of each character make you unable to deny the darkness, you will want to know who they really are. Through present-tense POVs and flashbacks each character drags the reader deeper into the rabbit hole that Nadia Jayne sits at the center of, tying the men and their pasts together. It's impossible to talk about this book without giving anything away, just be prepared for high emotions, and truly heed the warning if abuse, kidnapping, BDSM, taboo, etc. bother you. I did remove a half star from my overall rating due to my ability to guess at least one major plot point very early on.

To watch her fall, I'll need her trust and eventual adoration. It will be more climactic. Beautiful. Deserving.

Ladies and gentlemen, put away all your silly ideas about this book and just read it, because you will never ever guess where all the twists and turns lead to, I promise. K. Webster yet again takes readers down a deep, dark hole they won't be able to find their way out of until she offers a light to them at the end. With unique characters, daring relationships, incredible writing, and a truly suspenseful story line, Sweet Jayne is a stunner in the dark suspense and romance genres.

Dark and twisted as they come.
My issue was the lack of credibility. Too many incredible things happened and I found it hard to swallow it.

Once again K. Webster has fed the dark romance addict in me. Yes, I will gladly admit that I love her dark, gritty, and very twisted stories. And I mean really twisted. And in her latest release Sweet Jayne, K. Webster has me bowing down to her greatness. She has masterfully executed a story that was brilliantly insane.

I will not write a long spiel recapping what happened in the book because honestly I don’t want to spoil anything for the readers. This is one of those read that will have you saying WTF is happening and holy hell what is going on K. Webster’s mind. Is this a lovey dovey book? Hell no, this book is dark, consuming, and crazy. This is not a faint of heart kind of read. And you want to know what is so crazy is that I LOVE EVERY SINGLE THING ABOUT THIS BOOK. I love how Kristi continues to push readers to the edge. I love how unpredictable the storyline is. I love how in true K. Webster fashion she can have readers cringe with disgust and then have us saying “BRAVO, I didn’t see that coming.” So, I will end my review saying that K. Webster knows how to push the right buttons. She knows how to push readers to the edge and while we are tethering on the edge she knows when to pull us back in.

Did this book satisfy my craving for dark reads? Absolutely. If K. Webster’s mission was to deliver a story that will hold you hostage as you take in this crazy whirlwind of a story then she absolutely did her job. Mission accomplished because I know this book has earned a spot on my favorite dark twisted reads. All I gotta say K. Webster, I am ready for more of your crazy twisted and dark reads. <3

Sweet Jayne will make your head spin. There are a lot of dark moments in the story, but you'll love every minute of it.

description

When Nadia's mother got married to a rich business mogul, they left Argentina and moved to America. At first, she thought Donovan was a creepy stepdad. But when Nadia witnessed her friend get kidnapped, he became her best friend and best supporter.

Logan is a messed up guy that believes he owns Nadia. He's abusive, crazy, and nasty. But he's still one of my favorite characters. In some crazy way, I understand him.

"She's mine to ruin and destroy."

Kasper hates Nadia because she was the only witness to his sister's kidnapping. He find her testimony useless and unhelpful. He is angry and hurt, and the only person his mind can focus on is Nadia.

Nadia is just surrounded by a lot of strong men. And in some strange way, I love all of them.

K. Webster is a genius, and I can't wait to read more from her.

I swear only K Webster had the talent to actually make me skim most of the sex scenes in a book. After the infamous cucumber, now she upgrade to guillotine and anal hook! What the actual fuck!?

description

I finish this crazily messed up story in a night, skimming over most of the sex scenes both brutal and consensual because I don't really care about people having sex or in love anymore, I need answer, I need to know what the fuck is happening.

description

The blurb doesn't tell you much apart from the three male characters involved in Nadia Jayne's life. Each one had his own flaws, one sick and twisted, one full of hatred and vengeance and one who loves her whole heartedly. Anyhow, I don't really care about the limited romance we got here because this book isn't about the romance, in fact it was far from it.

Sweet Jayne is one hell of a wild ride, full of suspense and mystery and of course the sexual abuse told in glorious details that make me cringe and nearly puke my guts out.

description

Once I started on it, there is no way I can put it down even for a toilet break. Is not something I will want to reread again for obvious reason, but due to it being highly engaging and keeping me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole read, I shall rate it a much deserved 4 stars.

Sorry for keeping this vague, but this is the kind of book that you should go in blind and be surprised, or more likely shocked out of your wits. I'm so dying to discuss about some very spoilery plot with those who have read it.

That was an insane ride of cringe worthy drama. All the characters played a dangerous game and you'll definitely hate them at first.. Holy crap.. I can't help feeling nervous each time I turn the page anticipating something bad will happen. The suspense is so gripping and intense. This book might not be for everyone because the story is dark and taboo but it's hell worth of a try.

I made a guess on the mystery part and so glad I got it right. *fist bumps*

Sweet Jayne starts with a prologue that shows a kidnapping that took place in front of Nadia, which turns out to be the huge mystery of the novel. Flash forward to now, years later, and Nadia is in a relationship with a man, hated by another, and loved by another. There are 3 men in Nadia’s life that all play an impact on this story. The books teaser puts it all into perspective:

Kasper thinks he hates her.
Donovan thinks he loves her.
Logan thinks he owns her.

Sweet Jayne is a complicated girl…

She needs Kasper.
She hides from Donovan.
She has a plan for Logan.

But maybe complicated Jayne isn’t so sweet after all…
In fact, she might just be the biggest villain of them all.

Kasper is a detective who lost his sister when she was kidnapped right in front of Nadia. He ends up resenting Nadia for witnessing the kidnapping and not doing anything. Donovan is her stepfather, who has a very tangled relationship with Nadia but you can still feel the love he has for her. Logan, however, is the man that Nadia is in a relationship with currently and as a reader, I could not figure out why she stayed with him. He was abusive and controlling, oh and by the way he’s the chief of police. I was thinking this book was about Stockholm Syndrome but in the end, it was not at all what I expected when I decided to pick it up and I’ve decided that I’m okay with it. I read this a few days ago and to be honest, while I read it I wasn’t sure where this story was truly going, but after pushing through it I got it. When I say I got it, I mean that all the puzzle pieces fell together and it made me appreciate the beginning of the story more. However, I did have to push myself to get through it. It was dark and suspenseful so I just recommend that any readers that are struggling with it to just keep reading until the end to truly understand this whole book because you’ll appreciate it more as a whole story.

First of all, I have been wanting to read this for a very very long time. However I was not able to because...

"Due to copyright issues this book is not available in Canada..."

I'm not an idiot, I know how easy it is to download books illegally but I am super against that so I refrain from doing so even when I cannot purchase the book. Anyways... my good friend Sam is visiting me from the good ol' USA (Seattle to be exact) and she brought her Kindle (obviously) which had this book in it. I hijacked her Kindle for the weekend to read it and was not disappointed! I'm more annoyed that I couldn't read this sooner! But once again, that is not my fault!!!!! This isn't the first time one of K. Webster's books have been unavailable. WHY?!

So for my review - I really enjoyed the story line, there was so much going on and I applaud the author for making everything flow without seeming rushed. Usually when there is such complexity to the story it can feel crammed but everything was spaced out well and even had lovely epilogues!

I'm kinda distracted by my rage on how difficult it was for me to get my hands on his book to review properly so I'm going to end my review here! Overall this was dark, gritty and extremely disturbing at times... read with caution and expect the unexpected!

There were so many twists that I loved. I think Kasper was my favorite, although I do love Donovan. Then let me tell you, Logan was sadistic, sick, evil, and I still didn't hate him. So, another book that's shows that I have issues. Lmao!!!!

Well done, Webster.

Title: Sweet Jayne
Author: K. Webster
Series or Standalone: Standalone
Category: Dark, Suspense
POV: Multiple POVs
Characters: 5
Plot: 5
HEA: Hahaha, not telling

Another suspenseful tale from K. Webster!!!
Brilliant plot? Check.
Great characters? Check.
Complex storyline? Check.
This author always manages to create fantastic storylines with engaging characters that seem to latch onto my soul!
Nadia Jayne is witness to an abduction. When her testimony fails to lead the police anywhere close to the victim, the victim's brother swears to take revenge on anyone who couldn't help his sister.
Years pass and now Nadia is the fiance to the Chief of Police, Logan. The news land like a bomb in their hometown in Aspen and it unleashes a series of events that will alter evereyone's lives.
You see, Nadia left her home without a word and when her stepfather, Donovan Jayne finds out that his precious girl is alive and well he doesn't hesitate to re-enter her life.
Nadia and Donovan always had a very special relationship. They share a deep love that pushes the boundaries of propriety.

Call it sick.
Call it dirty.
But to me, he smells like comfort.
~Nadia

Their bond made me swoon and they were my favorite characters in the book.

Kasper, is the brother of the abducted girl and when he finally sees Nadia again he makes it his mission to destroy her for letting his sister disappear.

She deserves to hurt and ache.
To cry and scream.

I yearn to collect her debt to me.

But is she really the one to blame for his sister's fate? What if she really tried everything to locate his sister?

When Donovan realizes that Nadia might be in the hands of a sadistic man, he will do everything in his power to save her.
Logan is cruel, his relationship with Nadia is warped and she has to endure everything he forces upon her. So, why does she stay? Why does she endure his wrath and perverse tastes? Read to find out!

The lives of the ones I love depend on my ability to play a part.

The story keeps you guessing, it tugs on your heartstrings and it will threaten your sanity!
Once again, K. Webster takes her readers on a wild ride, full of plot twists, relatable characters, sizzling romance and epic villains! This has to be one of my favorite reads ever! Dark & juicy, the premise doesn't disappoint!
Engaging storyline and well developed characters! That epilogue made me cry.
Fasten your seat bealts, people. Rough ride ahead.
I highly recommend it. Not for sensitive readers.

Holy Shit K. Web has done it again!
 photo Screen Shot 2016-05-23 at 11.30.49 PM_zps5gulz5uv.png

This book was so damn good. Right from the start. I was just so incredibly engrossed right from the very start. I've said before that K. Webster is the Queen of Mindfuckery and this book simply goes to prove that point.

One thing that never ceases to amaze me about K. Webster's work is how as the book opens, she sweetly takes hold of your hand. And as the book goes on, she slowly leads you right out of your comfort zone. And before you know it, you're so far out of your comfort zone that you don't know which way is up, but you're so fucking wrapped up in the story that there's no way in hell you could ever turn back!

I loved the characters in this book. Nadia Jayne, she has such a sweet innocent quality to her, however she's brilliant, her mind always working, always racing. You know her intentions are good and pure however you are never quite certain of her agenda, or just how far she is willing to go.

Now, lets talk about the men in Nadia's life...
Donovan, Nadia's step father totally oozes sexy, overprotective businessman. While you're not completely sure you can trust him, there is just something about him that makes you want to. I don't know what it was about him but he drew me in right from the very start. And I was TEAM DONOVAN before I could even figure out why. ...it felt so wrong but oh so right.

Kasper Kasper just rubbed me the wrong way right from the start. He was out for vengeance, revenge on Sweet Jayne for doing wrong by him. I understood why he felt like his actions were justified but I still wanted just to share him a little and talk some since into him. I just love Nadia's heart and I feel like anyone who had the chance to get to know her could see what a good person she is. I wanted Ghost to see her. Ugh he made me SO MAD....until he didn't. I know that sounds like a spoiler but its not. There was just point in the book where I understood him a little better. Not because of something that clicked in the story, but because of something that clicked in my head & my heart.

Logan Well what can I even say about this dude... he is one intense crazy sexy motherfucker. I think I'll have to let you meet him for yourself.

This book was a crazy wild ride. A journey that ONLY K. Webster could take us on. I love K. Webster's work, and I can't think of anyone on the planet who I would so willingly hand my heart over to time and time again to dismantle, butcher, and then put back together again. I'm pretty sure she's taken a couple of years off my life, however I've given them willingly and I'll do it again... and again.

I love this woman's writing almost as much s I love the woman behind the writing.

R E A D

T H I S

B O O K ! ! !

In a story full of Villans there's no room for a hero.
