This book is really funny. Bad Kitty likes candy in the beginning but,in the end she hates candy. You should really read it. I really enjoyed reading this and taking the time to read it at least six times.
Maybe Kitty just had the wrong kind of candy. There are many kinds. Chewy, hard, nougat, nutty, chocolate...the options are endless. Come to the dark side, Kitty. The candy side.
Kitty is hungry, but she's turning her nose up at fish and beef...she wants candy. She's never had candy before, but she's sure she wants it. When stubborn Kitty finally gets a mouthful of candy, will it be everything she ever dreamed of?
This one was pretty funny. It sets the slightly ridiculous humor tone by some of the meat options her owner offers her to get her mind off of candy (kids will find the moose and walrus sitting in her food dish hilarious). I liked that Kitty learned her lesson in this one, and the way she learned it was quite humorous.
"Bad Kitty Does Not Like Candy" by Nick Bruel. I love the Bad Kitty Books; they are always fun to read. The book is about a kitty who wants candy, overeats it, and has to brush his teeth. Kitty decides he likes to fish and does not like candy. The illustrations are bold and funny. The moral is that too much of a good thing can become bad. There are many "Bad Kitty" books you should go and read for yourself; you will not regret it.
Kitty is hungry, but does want any of the food she normally would eat. Kitty wants candy, but she is told that candy is not good for her. Kitty rebels, and takes the candy and eats it, but finds that it is sticky, and requires her to brush her teeth. Kitty is not happy with the outcome, but still being hungry she decides to eat what she normally eats.
Not sure how I have not read any of the Bad Kitty books before this point, but based on this one, I'd love to check out some more! Very cute, fun little story, and I love the ornery feline! Bright illustrations and a fun read-aloud. Plus... cats. How can you go wrong with cats??
Kitty is hungry, but she is only in the mood for candy! That is until she figures out the hard way why candy isn't good for cats. Bad Kitty! A fun, simple story that can be a quick read for a story time. -Kennedy
This did not have the feel of the other Bad Kitty books. Also, where was the alphabet list?!? This book was trying to send a message about healthy eating (I guess) and it ended up being heavy-handed and book. A shame.
Candy is not good for Kitty so of course that's the only food that Kitty wants. Alas, Kitty must learn this lesson the hard knock way. A humorous picture book that every little one and their parent can identify with. Deliciously predictable and fun! Perfect for a preschool audience.
Good book for a laugh. It is in a series of books about the “Bad Kitty” and in this one the Kitty really likes candy until he learns his lesson that candy is not good for cats.
“I liked where he stole the candy. I like candy. My favorite candy is green mints. I also like when he ate the candy but I am not happy if our cat eats candy and gets a sticky lip” - Lucas
Summary This book is about Kitty and Kitty is hungry. The owner tries to feed Kitty a bunch of different foods but Kitty wants nothing to do with it. Kitty just wants candy. Finally Kitty decides to take the candy and eat all of it. After he does his mouth gets stuck together and cannot talk. He then realizes he does not like candy and decides to eat fish.
Activity For an activity for this book I can have the kids pick their own food that Kitty really wants to eat and have them draw or write their own short story.
Bruel, N. (2015). Bad Kitty does not like candy. New York: MacMillan.
Another departure in the picture book series from the alphabetical meanderings of the original. This is still a lovely romp through the whims of cat appetite.
My daughter actually really enjoyed this book. She's 2 years old and loved watching what Kitty did and did not like. For 2 days after reading this book she would talk about bad kitty. I also asked her what kitty liked and didn't like and she actually remembered the end of the book!
This is a cute book to read at Halloween time if your child enjoys the Bad Kitty series. It's a simple read with just a simple sentence on each page. The illustrations are humorous to a kid.
To short! This book was so short that it's a rip off!
It was such a short book! I speed through it so fast! You should really make more LONG books. I do really like the long books you made they are awesome! Thumbs up to the longer books! :D
