4.5 stars This is an excellent police woman romance. It shows that women can be strong, forceful and good at their job without losing their femininity. Brit followed in her father's law enforcement footsteps and became a female sharp shooter. Suddenly, her position, security and life are on the line. Colt is on the run from a military prison. His hope is that by taking Brit he'll be able to flush out her husband. Unfortunately, he didn't have all the facts. The story includes intrigue, suspense and an interesting romance. I look forward to reading more books in the future by this author.
I enjoyed the twists and clues that brought the reader into awareness of the true culprit. However, I am not a romance buff, so the romance was a little overwhelming for me. The story was enjoyable; it was hard to put down.
Brit feels like she is losing it, and keeps reminding herself to get a grip, having a gun in the side pocket of the car helps. An accident, a pile up of cars and truck, she was alive. Now kidnapped, and he knew her name. She was a Maryland State Police counter sniper, and on her own. Colt had 4 years in prison because of her husband, and broke out. She was his ticket to freedom, and to get her husband out in the open. They both have been betrayed by the same person, he didn’t know it yet. Secondly he didn’t know what she was capable of doing. Have read his other series, and thought excellent, as the beginning of this one is.
The suspense and drama of the first scene of Linger sets the stage for what is to come in another of P.J. O’Dwyer’s masterfully told stories. Full of suspense, plot twists and surprises, it’s a book you’ll have trouble putting down. O’Dwyer does a terrific job developing the relationship between the two main characters who are adversaries at first, but learn to lean on and trust each other as they try to uncover a dangerous truth. Another terrific read by O'Dwyer.
This is an interest holding book. I figured it out ahead but there was enough action occurring that it still held my attention. It twists a little differently than the run of the mill mystery. It is also not bogged down with so many charade it gets confusing. Nice easy to read with a mild sex scene that is not necessarily needed.
It had everything. Lots of action. A good love story and I got a kick out of reading about areas in my hometown. It made me want to go to Deep Creek Lake.
