The CasterLan forces have withdrawn to the edges of the solar system. Meanwhile, the Vonnegan Empire looks to find more planets to rule over. Seeing firsthand the cruelty and suffering that the Vonnegan Empire is capable of, Vere CasterLan begins to understand that only one thing that can bring peace to the galaxy and stop Mowbray once and for all. It’s a simple notion, only three words: the round table.
But as the call goes out for armies from every corner of space to unite against a common evil, will anyone listen to a ruler who has already lost everything she once had?
In this third installment of the Space Lore trilogy, discover the fates of Vere, Morgan, and the entire galaxy.

2.5 Stars. A little too hocus-pocus for me and with a surprisingly high head count as the battle of all battles takes place. How anyone can convince themselves that a battle will be the last one ever is beyond me. People (humans an aliens) will never be satisfied.
well, okay, here are some words: 1. Relief 2. Action 3. More action 4. Way more action 5. Relief (not everyone might feel this way) 6. Sad and happy all at the same time
The Round Table (Space Lore #3) by Chris Dietzel is book 3 and can be read as a stand alone but it would help to read book 2 first. This series has been fantastic! It continues about two years from book 2 with our gal Vera in prison, the worst prison you can imagine. Vera has the reputation for being the toughest criminal there. Her friends are now staging a prison break. Then, since she is the next heir to the land, she is boss! But she's been going out of body and speaking with Mortimous who instructs her to make a round table. So besides all the action, suspense, crazy creatures, battle scenes, humor, witty dialogue, adventure up to this point, now they have to get the many systems/kingdoms to come together when she has nothing now to bargain with. I must say, I like the android Pistol the best and would like to see more of it in the future books! Love that character. Well developed characters, all of them, but Pistol is my favorite. Great plot and fast paced. Received this book for a honest review and it in no way effected my review content or rating.
By far the best book of the series. The characters have been developed and are well rounded so you care about them. The pace of the story is nonstop. The thing that works about this book is that while each chapter in the trilogy has a beginning, middle and end the entire series has been shaped in the same way. Looking back on Dietzel's Space Lore trilogy that is why I think The Green Knight is the least good of the three. It's still a great space fantasy but it's only the start of the adventure. The Excalibur is even better and you really start to get into the quest. This third book is really where the series shines.
Book 3 of this series was just as hard to put down as the first 2! With some new characters and interesting challenges, I couldn't stop reading. The entire story had me wondering what's going to happen in the end. I won't provide any spoilers but I do feel at peace and satisfied. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind more of this series but I felt content at the end.
We all need to learn and be tranformed like Vere. The Round Table would be a wonderful thing to have now. Looking forward to the next group of books about this galaxy.
