A paper marriage to a secret prince… what could go wrong? The first day I lay eyes on gorgeous, debonair George Whittemore, he proposes to me. It’s not as romantic as it sounds. See, George’s trust fund is set up so that he only gets his money once he’s married. And me, I’m in England to hide from my past in the States. I want to stay on this side of the pond as long as I can. It’s all very practical, you see. What I don’t expect is the sudden revealing of George’s royal blood… or the chemistry between us. Soon a few heated glances turn to stolen kisses, and before I know it George has swept me off my feet… and into his bed. When my past rears its ugly head, threatening scandal for the new Prince, suddenly things come to a breaking point. I’ve fallen for George, and him for me… but is it enough to overcome all that stands between us? Royally Screwed is a standalone novel with no cliffhanger and a HEA.
Jessica Ashe is a twenty-six year old lawyer, who has turned her hand to her real passion--writing about alpha males and bad boys. She's likely living vicariously through the heroines in her book until she finds an alpha male of her own.
One of my favorite themes to read about is when your average everyday girl meets and falls in love with someone from the royal family. The other thing I love is the idea of contract and arranged marriages as these two always end up in an HEA and that I am a sucker for. Jessica Ashe is a new author I have discovered, and I loved her book Royally Screwed. Royally Screwed starts off with George as a bit of a playboy and then being told he has two weeks left before his secret is out. After reading this, I was under the impression that he had been a royal undercover as a college student but in fact, his is a case of being "the lost heir." His father has died, and now George has been told that he needs to be married to claim his inheritance and step up to the plate as, by all means, he is now King George. George was the result of a quick marriage between the King and his mother, the pair went their separate ways, and George never knew about his father. Sophia is running away from life and thought that she could start fresh across the ditch in England - far from the life she left behind in the states. Sophia though only has six months left on her visa before she had to head home. When George spots Sophia in the coffee shop, there is an instant attraction though Sophia is reluctant to go out with George and with the countdown now brought up to one day. George must woo Sophia and lay out his plan. The thing that he didn't count on was Sophia's reaction to marriage. Can George persuade Sophia to go with the marriage? Will the pair be able to split after the six months amicably or will the sparks turn their love for one another into real true love? Find out in Royally Screwed by Jessica Ashe - a novel filled with past mistakes, sexting, and true love.
"This time there was no need to slip out from under her and do a runner. I was right where I wanted to be."
I really enjoyed this novel!
The writing was fluid, I really liked the characters, and it was sexy and really funny in places.
George has a secret. He’s desperately trying to have a normal couple of weeks - jumping from bed to bed - before his secret is out, and normal will be a thing of the past.
Sophia is an American student studying in England. She came to England to escape a broken engagement after finding out that her fiancé was cheating on her. She came to England to find a Prince Charming.
Turns out that she gets more than she bargained for! A marriage of convenience turns into something more complicated when their undeniable attraction sizzles into a proper relationship.
This story had great banter between the characters. Although they had issues to resolve, the story wasn’t overly angsty. It was fun, sweet and sexy!
Ya know, I like this author writing about English in England (& teasing the Welsh girl). It's when this author tries to write American sports (well, nevermind)...
This was fun. I didn't care for George having sex in the beginning. It doesn't take much and I "get" he is a stud. Hey, did we even understand why he was hanging around that college???
Ok, it got a little discombobulated after Stan contacted her but George keeps proving himself a "prince" of a man.
Sophia is a young woman who moved to England for graduate school to escape a broken engagement. George is a young man who is actually the unknown heir to the throne, but no one knows it yet - however, that's about to change 'cuz the story is breaking any day. Also, George needs to get married, like right now, to obtain his inheritance. He meets Sophia at the coffee shop she works at, convinces her to go out with him, and then all hell breaks loose when the story of George's birth hits the news. This was a fun and cute story that I did enjoy, but there were too many continuity errors to overlook - she's panty-less then all of a sudden she's not; she's got tanned legs but she burns in the sun, etc..... re-reading your work before you publish it, especially in a book this short, isn't that hard!
George was a swoony ladies man with a big heart that won me over! He had recently found out he was a Prince. He didn't want to lose his freedom and had the wrong perception of what it would entail to be a Prince. He had a plan to abdicate as heir to the throne and instead marry to claim his inheritance. But his plan went down the drain when the woman who had agreed bailed on him.
Sophia was an American student in the UK running away from her past. She wanted to remain in the UK after she got her degree but needed a visa.
George's half-sister and nephew had been in a car accident years ago and the medical bills were too high. He supported them financially and was nearly broke so he needed the money to take care of them. This made me love his character even more. Such a selfless act of love.
He meets Sophia at the coffee shop she works at and after interacting with her for a bit he wants her to be his fake wife. Sophia's reluctant at first but he convinces her and they marry.
The deal is to be married for 6 months and after she gets her visa and he gets his money they'll divorce. Sounds simple, right? But a lot of things happen. There isn't much drama except for one major thing but if you want to find out you are going to have to one-click ;)
I definitely recommend this book :) it has steamy scenes, no cheating, just a fun light fast read that you will have you falling for George. Plus you get two additional free books: Bad Boy’s Honor: An MMA Bad Boy Romance, and the second is Bad Boy’s Secret: A British MMA Romance. 3 books for the price of one!
Ooh and can Ellie get a book please?! Really loved her character and would love to see more of her.
This is my second book by Jessica Ashe and I’m officially a fan. I enjoyed both books very much. They are fast paced, steamy and have twists and turns.
George is enjoying his life and women, because soon a big announcement in the news will change his life forever. One day, he goes to a coffee shop and there he meets Sophia. She doesn’t react to his charms like the other girls do and he’s immediately intrigued by her. He wants to get to know her and thinks she can help him with something. He’s going to have to convince her to help him, since Sophia doesn’t like George when she meets him. Sophia is attracted to him and quickly realizes that George is different. She helps him and her life changes forever.
George and Sophia are amazing characters. George is a carefree, British bad boy. He recently discovered something that will change his life forever. He knows what he wants and how to get it, so he will get Sophia. He can be charming and sweet, and that is why Sophia realizes he’s different. Sophia is an American girl who hopes to find prince charming in the UK and forget about her previous relationship. She’s also a hardworking woman. When she falls for George, she falls hard and can’t imagine her life without him in it. They are a beautiful couple. They help each other.
I liked both Sophia’s friends and I’m hoping there will be books about them! Some characters from previous books are mentioned, but they have no connection to this book. It’s always nice when they make an appearance, no matter how brief it is. There are also 2 bonus books, so it's 3 books for the price of 1.

I love reading Jessica Ashe's books! The plot is always great, but the characters and the humor is what gets me every time! In this book we have Sophia--an American in England finishing up her Masters and trying to have a new life after she ran away from her fiancee at the alter. But hey, she had a really good reason. While out one night for drinks with friends, she runs into handsome British playboy George. After eyeing her up at her coffee shop, he has decided he wants her. Only he wants more than just her body--he wants her to be his wife!
Definitely not love at first sight like you might be thinking. George needs a wife by the time he is 25 in order to inherit a small fortune. That small fortune is the key for him to help his sister and her son. Sophia ran away from one marriage, but with a noble reason like that, who could turn it down? It's only supposed to last for six months, but things have a way of changing unexpectedly.
Their attraction can't be denied and what starts out as a business arrangement grows into something more. But when news of their relationship and the truth about who George really is leaks out, people from the past want in on the action. Only thing is, those people may be asking for more than money.
I really liked Sophia and George's story and how everything developed. There are definitely things that happened that I didn't see coming, but it made for a great story. If you love Jessica Ashe, you will definitely love this new book.

I received this for a honest review. Such a great book.
When you start reading the book you will see George is a playboy. But as you read the book you will see that George is this amazing guy. He loves his sister and her child so much. He truly is caring a huge burden and is willing to do whatever it takes for his family.
Sophia is this this funny, sassy, and amazing woman. She is from america living in the UK attending college. She is worried about her vista and is needing to find a way to renew it. She was trying to leave her past behind and hoping to meet a nice English guy.
I loved Sophia’s friend Ellie. She wanted to see Sophia happy. She was doing what ever it took to push Sophia together with George. Ellie was a true friend and there when Sophia really needed her. I think Ellie had a funny personality as well and hope to see a future book on her later.
George needs to marry to get his inheritance. He is determined to marry Sophia. Sophia is not certain that is what she truly wants. There is a connection between Sophia and George that can not be denied. Oh, don’t worry things will get hot and heavy. There is a huge bumpy road that Sophia and George will face. George will show what an amazing guy he truly is through this hard time.
I am so happy I got a chance to read this book. It was a book well worth reading.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed both Sophia and George's character.
Here's Sophia a transplanted American in the Yorkshire countryside just trying to get on with her life and get her masters degree away from all her troubles. Then there's George, a playboy trying to screw his way through the female population trying to forget his troubles.
George only has days before his secret becomes known or so he thinks. George & Sophia meet in the coffee shop where she works part time while attending university. He is instantly attracted to her and she really wants nothing to do with him. George knows that Sophia will be perfect to help him with his plan, now he just needs to convince her to help him.
The chemistry is hot between these two. The book was a good read and it was hard to put down. All in all another great book by Jessica Ashe.
George is a playboy, he spends alot of time on the University Campus and the girls dorm rooms, but he isn't a student. His life is about to change, as to how good of a change depends if he can find a wife to avoid a life he doesn't want.
Sophia has run away from her life. She moved across the Ocean to hide and heal. But she isn't healing, only hiding. She thought she could find her "Prince Charming", only she didn't think he would be in wrinkled clothes and stubborn.
Royally Screwed, was funny, exciting, Hot, and with the twist of secretes that Jessica weaves into her stories, along with the the urge to smack the guy up the side of his head. But he is the hero in the end and a type of Prince that Sophia needed.
Sophia is an American, hiding from her past, whilst studying history at a university in Yorkshire, England, when she meets George a sexy, charming Englishman with a secret. Will he have time to seduce her before his secret is all over the news? George and Sophia were brilliant characters, the banter between them was funny and sexy for the most part, the storyline is pretty much light hearted and fun, but also engaging, I couldn't put it down. It's different from the other books by Jessica Ashe that I've read, and I liked it a lot. I would highly recommend. I received this ARC free from the author for an honest review.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review. I love is just like all other works from Jessica. She does a great job using strong characters and story lines in her books. You will fall in love reading about our american girl Sophia and our England royal George. George and Sophia both have a need so they work out an agreement between them to accomplish both task. George needs a wife and Sophia needs a visa. Will they come to an agreement that will work for both of them? Will they both be able to keep it platonic as they plan? Jessica Ashe is a great author and I have truly come to love her work. I can't wait to read what she writes next.
George has a problem: in order to get hold of his inheritance, he has to be married by the time he's 25. Unfortunately, that is imminent, and he's never been near a relationship, as he's a bit of a manwhore, living on a steady diet of one-night-stands. Oh, and he's about to be announced as the rightful heir to the British throne! Unsuspecting barista Sophie, studying for her masters degree, wants nothing to do with the super-hot "Prince Charming," as she's been burnt before and is feeling very gun shy about hot, charming guys. The dialogue between George and Sophie is witty, and their chemistry, in spite of all of Sophie's reserves, is off the charts. This is a fun book!
Bad boy princes are becoming very popular. Jessica Ashe definitely didn't disappoint with her addition to this genre! George wasn't your typical Englishman and that's something that caught Sophia's attention. Sophia's American quirkiness was irresistible to George. These two were goners before you know it. I loved every minute. Of course what would a story be without some crazy unexpected twists? George and Sophia's story was chock full of them. The story went nothing like I expected. Reading this has me wanting to take a trip to England. I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
A different kind of "Prince Charming"..... George and Sophia fall into a relationship of convenience that becomes so much more. This book was fast paced, characters, well developed, and so much fun. The secondary characters were interesting as well. Getting an additional 2 books was a nice surprise. I have a list of books to read by Jessica Ashe. Thanks for the opportunity. I was gifted an ARC for an honest review
I've loved every book by Jessica Ashe that I've read! But I believe this is my new favorite by her. I loved that he was attracted to her and she at first blows him off like she doesn't find him attractive. I love a book that has a bad boy that really can be sweet.
I also liked how Jessica intertwined other characters from previous books into the story. This is a standalone book. A must read for the summer!
I don't understand all the great reviews. It was so clinched. I skipped through half of it because I got bored knowing what will happen. Boy needs to marry girl to claim inheritance, girl needs visa- they strike a deal. Nude pictures go public of girl by her ex, boy steps in and stands by her, everything blows over. 6 months later her proposing to her for real, the end.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review....
Another story by Jessica Ashe that blew me away! That's typical of her books. The plot was different and well-developed/written. It flowed smoothly throughout. George and Sophia are a great couple with explosive chemistry. Buy it now! If the book description doesn't get you, then Jessica has included her two MMA Romance stories so you get 3 for the price of one!
At the beginning I have been struggling with the story but throughout the book I really started to like it, as well as the characters.
George and Sophia had a great chemistry and I loved their banter about Americans and British people. Those very really funny. Generally I enjoyed the humour in this book a lot. The story was enjoyable and had some nice and surprising twists. All in all a quick and fun read.
Sophia is an American who hiding from her past while studying history in Yorkshire, England when she meets George a sexy Englishmen with a secret. will he have time to seduce Sophia before his secret is all over the news? George and Sophia are brilliant characters and the banter between them is sexy and funny couldn't put this book down absolutely loved it from start to finish
This review is only for the titled book and not for any of the bonus books that were included in the copy that I bought. I liked George and Sophia. He needed a wife of convenience and she needed a visa to stay in England so she didn't have to go back to the United States. The characters were really funny and had good chemistry with each other. Overall good read.
This story was good but lacked quite a bit to be anything more then just good. However it isn't one I would recommend to my friends, it was rather bland unfortunately.
