Alpha Bites #2

Alpha Bear

Rate this book
A Bear's Hunger Won't Be Denied.....

Former Navy Seal Dane Green is in a bad mood. After being injured on a rescue mission to retrieve the alpha's mate and sister, and a fiery red head with amazing legs, he's stuck in bed. To make matters worse, the red head he was injured for while rescuing, is insisting on nursing him back to health.

It might be great if he didn't want to pull her in bed with him.

Lois Graham was afraid of Dane when he first kidnapped her. The bear shifter is large and gruff and everything she's not used to. Lois is a human, and the fact that shifters exist at all shattered her world perception. After Dane stood in the way of claws and teeth that would have torn her to pieces, Lois can't help but see him in a different light. Something between them has changed, and she's determined to find out what it is, why Dane looks at her with that soft expression, and to let him know that she wouldn't mind being pulled into his bed.

Dane already lost one mate to humans. He's not about to let himself get close to another, not when there are dangerous people out there who want to see him punished by hurting Lois. She thinks she's ready for this world, but she's not, and the best thing Dane can do would be to walk away.

Too bad the bear inside him has other plans for their mate. It has no intention of letting Lois go.

This review is for the second book in the Alpha Bites series and whilst I freely admit I'd somehow missed the previous story Alpha I was quickly pulled in and had no trouble understanding what was going on.
Essentially this is a book about a Pack of shifters who just happen to accept more than one species and previously the Alphas mate Miranda had quite a few issues with her new abilities . Unfortunately she lost control severely injuring the Packs second in command Dane. Dane too is an alpha but content to follow Garret and happy that Miranda and Garret have finally found each other. What he isn't happy about is the fact that his innate healing ability seems to have deserted him. Oh and speaking of deserting none of the Pack seem able to put up with his growling ways which means that Lois, a human is the only one who seems inclined to help him. Dane has reasons not to trust humans but that tasty red head is surely going to be the death of him!
Ok I usually fall just a tiny bit in lust with alpha heroes but frankly struggled with Dane. He is this big, gorgeous , former Seal who can shift into human, a bear or something entirely in between. Dane is supposedly an Alpha and yet for much of this story I wanted to tell him to grow a pair! Yes he has baggage but don't we all?
Lois stood out to me as being far more forthright and bold and yet even she at times acted stubbornly and cut herself off . However Lois does decide to grab the bull (bear?) by the horns but I'm still undecided if that helped their romance or not! What I did find incredibly interesting were those characters on the sidelines . There's a dragon with a history that I'm really keen to discover more about and then did I read that right? Is there the possibility of redemption for someone?
Not the usual shifter story and well written . Perhaps a smidge shorter than I prefer but this was an entertaining way to spend my afternoon

I was given an ARC copy for my honest review. AND this book was great. I read straight through, didn't want to put down. This was the first book that I read of this series, and I loved it so much that I purchased Alpha the first book so that I could get some back information on the series. I loved the play by play between these two. The big bad bear and the small human who isn't afraid of him.

I thought it was great how much they both fought the attraction between them. This was a great thrilling read.

I've always loved the stories where love conquers over everything else and this is just another perfect example of that. Mandy has a way of writing that is just amazing and makes you want to read more of the story or pick up another book of hers. This story has made me fall into this pack even more than I already had and I want to know so much more about everyone in it.

Drama, personality and twists! I do enjoy how the personality is expressed and the concept of how the shifters work are different. Many I see in shows its full human form and full animal, no in between; except this book has that. I find it fun trying to visualize these in my minds eye.
****Cliffhanger for this ending tho!!****
Argh!! So now I must continue to the next lol.

This is the second book I have read by Mandy Rosko and the second book in the “Alpha Bites” series. This book picks up where “Alpha” ends and is the beginning of a whole new love story. The story line is an excellent story that needs to be told and the characters are all from the previous book and they all work perfectly with each other. The only thing that really perturbed me about this book is the cliff hanger ending. I know it is a way for the author to ensure we will buy the next book in the series, but I just am not a fan of cliff hangers. But they are no worse than the first book in a series being free then you have to buy the next one and the next. I loved the love story ion this book and ow all the characters come to play in it. It is an AWESOME book and one that you need to read. It is recommended for mature readers 18 and over because of the explicit sexual content.

Dane Green is a bear shifter, and a former Navy Seal, he is also an Alpha and in Garret’s wolf pack, yet he is Garret’s second in command and is fine with that. Dane is injured on a rescue mission to retrieve the Alpha’s sister, and a fiery red head with amazing legs, and is stuck in bed because he won’t heal like he should. To make matters worse he has pissed off all the beta’s and now this red head is the one taking care of him. The only thing bad about this situation is that he wants her in the bed with him. Dane doesn’t want another mate, so he is fighting the urge he has for this feisty red head.

Lois Graham was in the woods looking for her friend Miranda Hart when she finds a strange man rummaging through her car. Dane terrifies her by changing in front her and then kidnapping her and taking her back to the pack. Lois is scared of him to begin with because now everything she thought was myth is now completely shattered. Dane then stands in between her and a wild Miranda to protect Lois from Miranda’s uncontrolled attack and takes lots of cuts from her. Lois now sees Dane in a different light. Things between her and Dane change and she is determined to find out what is wrong with Dane and why he looks at her with a soft expression yet he is constantly pushing her away from him.

Dane has lost one mate who was shot by humans and he will not let himself get close to another one especially with danger in the shadows and that danger wants to hurt him by hurting Lois. Just when she starts to think that she can live in their world, Dane still pushes her away no matter what she tells him and no matter what he really wants. His biggest problem is his bear has plans for their mate. It has no intention of letting Lois go.

Will Dane keep pushing Lois away forcing her to leave? Will Lois be able get over Dane if she leaves? Or will Dane and Lois finally work things out and have their happily ever after?

No Spoilers. ARC free book given in exchange for an honest review.

Oh my how I love this series and this one ended on a whammy!!! Ok first this is the second of the series and it has large shoes to follow! But no worries it's fantastic!! I also loved Garret but Dane well he's growing on me and I happen to just love Jax so I was curious to see if Dane would meet up to Garret and Jax- and he did. Though I wanted to slap him multiple times hahaha but that's just a dude for you, so damn stubborn! Dennis- the bad guy- is still on his terror trail and this time he's upped the stakes. He's striking in public and he no longer cares who he hurts. It's not pretty.

So, Miranda, now the alpha female, is happy that Lois her BFF, is gunna stay with the pack. But Lois is attracted to Dane and he's not nice, because he's attracted to her but won't have her. She's human, he's a shifter. Oh his dilemma. And Garret wants Miranda happy so Lois stays. Until Dane does something stupid and screws things up, but then something else happens and now, it's no longer just Lois in trouble. Wow! So I loved Lois because she's sure of herself while being human. She's funny and sweet and a good friend. And Dane, well he means well but he's stupid hahaha he let so much past and drama get in his own way and yes I do fault him for some things but not what he faults himself for. For being an alpha with so much power and accomplishment, he's worse than a teenage girl with his tantrums! And now I'm DYING for Jax's story next!!! Oh my!!!

The writing is fabulous!!! I'm a new die hard fan- I'm luck enough to read her goodies- and I've purchased some of her other series while I wait now! Because it's gunna be EPIC- this next book. I want everyone to have a happy ending! Absolutely great addition to the series!! :) 5 PAWS!!

When her friend Miranda went missing, Lois couldn't just stay idle, she had to go look for her. When she finds Miranda's car it looks like it's being raided by a mountain of a man. A man who has no second thought but to kidnap her on the spot. When he takes her with him it's only to find Miranda in perfect health and happy.
Dane isn't happy about bringing the woman with him, kicking and screaming. But he couldn't risk her babbling to others about the car and Miranda. He did the only thing he thought was right and bring her with hi so she could see for herself Miranda was ok.
But then IT happened. They got attacked again and he was severely wounded trying to keep them safe and now he wasn't healing properly. It made him grouchy and snap at everyone. Only one who was enduring his tantrums was Lois, Miranda's friend, just the person he didn't want around him. When she starts finding crack in the shield he build around himself he starts healing again.
Lois is angry about being kidnapped, being told about a world she, at first, couldn't believe was true. Than there was Dane, the man who kidnapped her, saved her and was now having trouble getting better. Something about him made her deal with his temper, made her persistent to stay and care for him.
Both are battling their own demons as is the pack is battling their Nemesis. with both realize in time what is happening and take the right steps to their happily ever after?
really enjoyed this second story in this series. it's a nice pick up where the other book ended, though both could be read as stand alone together they complete each other as the overall story continues.

Dane is a bear shifter and an alpha. He too it upon himself to protect the pack by kidnapping Lois in the first book in the series. He has been injured when the book opens and Lois is determined to help him get better because he saved her from great harm. The problem is that Dane is trying hard to fight the pull towards her. Lois is not sure why she feels so attracted to him but it is hard to have him keep his distance.

I read the book and then went back and read the first one in the series, Alpha. You can jump in and certainly enjoy the story but I would recommend reading the first story. The author does a very good job of summarizing the important details from the first book but I enjoyed the characters so much I wanted to read it all for myself.

Dane is a man with a painful past that keeps him from wanting to open himself to love. Lois is a woman who is very creative and protective and she is not afraid of taking chances. She is very willing to take a risk if there is an opportunity for some really good results. However, she is also protective of herself and doesn't want to open herself to more and more pain. It is difficult for these two to work out their issues. Chemistry is not a problem for them. I really enjoyed reading their story and the effort the author took to develop all the characters.

I really enjoy the other characters too. I look forward to the next book and seeing what happens next. There is a real cliff-hanger for one of the other characters.

Alpha Bear picks up soon after the ending of the first book of the series, but the focus this time is on one of Garret’s friends and fellow alpha, Dane. Dane happens to be a were-bear who was injured during their last run in with their enemy, Dennis, and his pack. He was injured protecting a human woman, and Miranda’s best friend, Lois. Now Lois is helping to care for Dane while he recovers, but there is something else that draws them to each other, on top of mutually frustrating the other. While Lois tries to figure out why she cares so much about the rude were-bear, Dane is also trying to keep his beast at bay while trying to move on from past pain that threatens to ruin what may be blossoming between him and Lois.

This was a good follow-up to the first book in the series. The story is fast paced, and the chemistry between Dane and Lois was strong despite them (mostly him) trying to fight it. I felt so much for Lois and everything Dane was putting her through. For most of the story I wanted to dislike him, but knowing about his past, it was easier to forgive and root for the couple. The secondary storyline between “the alphas” and the rogue pack led by Dennis is really heating up. And the epilogue/cliffhanger at the end – the writing is on the wall, and I don’t think I like what it says. But all the more reason to continue on with this series when the next book is released.

Dane is healing after an attack, but it's slower than normal because his shifter healing is not kicking in. Having the woman he rescued taking care of him is slowly driving him crazy.

Lois has recently been slapped in the face with the fact shifters exist and that their world can be dangerous. After Dane saves her life she feels a connection she can't turn off.

Dane is a sexy, brooding, bear shifter. Lois is a strong, protective, passionate, human woman. This was a great story with so much and pull between these two! Lois gives as good as she gets which I loved, and they are both strong characters and well matched. I think all the characters are well written and each add a needed piece to the story. There is no needless fluff to this story; every word, character, scene is pushing toward a fantastic conclusion. The story itself has just the right amount of twists and turns to keep you on the edge wanting more. I appreciate that there is not a cliffhanger at the end but more of what I consider an introduction for the next book, because it left me wanting more of this world, which is always the sign of a well written story. I would recommend this story to anyone who loves shifters, paranormal, a great sassy love story, or simply a book that will be a wonderful read!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Okay, so the writing was good, and it was nothing against the talent of the author (because I do think she's a good writer), but I didn't enjoy this book. There's a cliffhanger at the end where Garret (male lead from the first book) is missing, and while his mate Miranda feels like he's still alive (and I really hope he is and is safe), it bothers me severely that he's gone and there's the worry that he might be dead, or something will happen to him in the next book. I stopped reading another author because she killed off characters (the male lead, of all things) from previous books and this is not something I like and ruins a whole series and author for me. Seriously, I never read that author again if she kills off characters from previous books. The 'epilogue' is not really an epilogue to me because it's not an HEA for the characters, and is instead another cliffhanger. I liked Lois, and Dan was okay, but I hated his back story that he had lost his first mate. That put a really dark taint on the story that bothered me a lot. Overall I did not like this book, but I really hope that the next one is better and has a happier vibe, and that no characters die.

Dane/Lois

Well done sequel to "Alpha (A Paranormal Alpha-Shifter Romance) (Alpha Bites Book 1)" and its my favorite of the first three books currently published in the series.

I really liked how the love story developed for Dane and Lois. While their was insta-attraction, they had to overcome some emotional hurdles on Dane's part. She was dealing with the news that shifters exist and her best friend had been changed and he was dealing with overcoming the loss of a prior love.

For those that dislike cliffhangers, you will want to buy book 3.

After first reading Alpha, I started Alpha Bear. I think you should read the books in order so you get a better understanding of the characters and storyline. The main characters Lois and Dane are likeable. Dane is a surly and sexy bear shifter, Lois is a normal human being, not too sassy, not too shy. The story is ok, you see how their relationship between develops. The bear’s healing is an original touch. I like how their sexual relationship builds up.
What seems a bit strange is that there is hardly any interaction with the rest of the pack. Apart from the six main characters, the rest of the pack is practically non-existent.
The enemy kidnaps one of the main characters of the third book. There’s already some information in this book, and there are just enough intriguing hints to make you look forward to reading the next book.
Although it is a short book, I think it is really worth reading. I’m looking forward to the third book in the series.

This is book 2 in the Alpha Bites series and tells the story of Dane a former SEAL and Lois, the Alpha Female's best friend that Dane ended up kidnapping " for her own good". Lois thinks she hates Dane and everything paranormal, until Dane jumps in front of her when her best friend attacks during a shift and doesn't realize she is among friends. After that Lois' only concern is nursing Dane back to health and figuring out exactly what it is she feels for him. As far as Dane is concerned all humans are deceitful and can't be trusted, but when he looks at Lois all he and his bear see is "MINE"!
Can Dane get past his prejudice? Can Lois get past her fears? A foe from book 1 turns up and grabs Lois, and before you can say :ROAR, Dane is off to rescue you her, the question is will he be in time ? This is a hot, sexy, fun read by Mandy Rosko and shouldn't be missed !! I read it in 1 sitting, beginning to end !! 5☆'s all the way. I recieved a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was given an ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. Alpha Bear is the second book in the “Alpha Bites” series by Mandy Rosko and just picks up soon after the ending of the first book of this awesome series. Books 2 tells the story of Garret's friend and fellow Alpha Former Navy Seal Dane Green and Miranda’s best friend, Lois Graham a sexy, sassy red head with a hot body. Dane is a bear shifter and Garret’s second in command, he's injured on a rescue mission to retrieve the Alpha’s sister and Miranda's sexy friend. Now Dane's in bed trying to heal as quickly as he should but is not happening and to make maters worst Dane ticked off all the help with his temper. Lois feels responsible for caring for Dane because after all he got hurt protecting her. The story is fast paced, hot, sexy, funny and the chemistry between Dane and Lois is so strong. Do they get a Happy Ending? No Spoilers here, go buy the book. Can't wait for book 3!

This is the second book in a series that must be read in order.
Dane Green was badly injured when a newly turned shifter lost control and nearly killed someone. For some reason his wounds are not healing as quickly as they should. It doesn't help that his surly temper has chased off all the people who try to help him.
Lois Graham is a human who has been kidnapped by a bear shifter and now rescued by him. He put himself between her and certain death. The least she can do is help him get well.
You can read this book on it's own, but it's obvious there is one before it and it leaves us with a cliffhanger that involves another in the pack. It is an unusual pack, it is mainly wolves but has a dragon and our hero the alpha bear. Lots of shifter battles, hot sex and danger all around. A good fun read.

A good second book in the series. Took a little time to work out what had happened in the previous book but all came clear as I read the book. It was clearer if you had read the first book in the series as you understood the dynamics between the characters. The main story of the romance between Dane and Lois, with Dane fighting the attraction. Dane sometime seemed a bit whiney at times not wanting to accept Lois as his mate, with hints as to his previous experiences which made him reluctant to take Lois as a mate.
I would have liked to read a little more of the conflict between the pack and some shifters who had been exiled from the pack. There were parts of this and may be more a dominate part in future books as the book ends with unresolved elements.
I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend reading it.

I thought that this was a great second book in the Alpha bites series. I was a great joy to read, and I can’t wait to read the next one. If you are new to this series, I recommend reading the first one first before reading this one so that you will understand what is going on. This book is about former Navy Seal and bear shifter Dane Green, he was hurt in the first book and is not healing like he should be. Lois Graham feels like she is responsible for caring for Dane because he got hurt protecting her. Dane is fight his attraction to Lois because he already lost his first mate of hunters and he does not want to lose another one. Will they give into their attraction to each other and get their happy ending? This was a great book I could not put it down, I cannot wait for the next one.

Mandy Rosko has done it again in the second book of the Alpha Bites series. Alpha Bear (Alpha Bites Book 2) picks up from book one and runs with it. Dane and Lois are drawn to each other, but because of what happened to his deceased wife at the hands of humans, Dane refuses to acknowledge that connection. However, his bear feels otherwise. Dane even fights against his bear after it growled "Mine" during a intimate encounter between Lois and Dane. But Lois proves to be very useful to the pack, much to Danes dismay. He. Wants. Her. Gone! Read this excellent book to find out the rest of the story! Does she stay or does she go?!

This is the second book in the series and can be read alone but will make more sense if you have read the first book as this is a continuation of the first book. This is book had me hooked straight away and I could not put it down. It is fast paced and exciting. It has everything :- a grumpy bear alpha trying to recover from injuries, a stubborn human insisting on nursing him, an overprotective wolf alpha and his mate, the alpha’s little sister and dragon shifter alpha she has a crush on, plus a rival enemy pack who are bent on revenge and mayhem. I want the next book to be out NOW please, because I don’t want to wait.

Second book in the Alpha Bites series and I wish they where put out sooner, but oh well I will just have to be patient . Dane Green a former Navy Seal and Bear shifter was hurt in the first book and he is not healing like he should, he got hurt protecting Lois Graham , a Human. Until Lois meet Dane she did not know shifters existed, now she has to learn a whole different perspective on the world around her. Dane is fighting his attraction to Lois he has already lost his first mate to Hunters. What happens to Lois especially seeing as evil is close by? Do they get a Happy Ending? This is the second book in the Alpha bites series . Dane is an Alpha bear and Lois is a human. There is attraction between them but Dane is fighting it as he doesn't like humans for a reason.
Dane and the other Alphas have been trying to find Dennis and his rogues. Dane got hurt by the rogues and is struggling to heal, Lois helps him. They just get together when the book finished with a cliffhanger leading to the next book.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend but read book 1 first. I look forward to reading book 3.

I really liked this book! This is book two in the Alpha Bites series and a continuation of the intensity from the first book. Lois is human and when she was looking for her best friend, Miranda, she found bear shifter Dane instead. I love Dane! He is a strong, smart, alpha bear, former Navy Seal and he has to fight to keep control of his inner bear. There is a slow pull between he and Lois and they are both fighting those feelings. Their story is full of heat and danger. I am at the edge of my seat waiting on book three!!

Since I haven't read book one of this series, I find I have to catch up on the mythology of Miss Roskos shifter world. There is a violent grudge from another rogue pack and a romance. I have enjoyed this author copy. Werewolves and a Dragon are secondary characters, so this isn't just another werewolf story. Refreshingly different. Thanks!

This is book 2 and i am reading it as a standalone. This book was great. I recommend reading in order since if you haven't read book one you will miss some details as to what they are talking about. We follow the Alpha Bear as he is healing from his wounds and trying to fight what he is feeling for the human. Will he ever acknowledge who she is to him? Can he get over her being human? What is Denis end game? Will the Alpha find his sister? Will the Dragon finally get his mate?

This story of Dane and Lois takes off from the last book and even though it can be read alone it's better to read in order. Struggling with his past and with danger around every corner Dane pushes Lois away until she goes. Lois is struggling with what has been revealed to her and with her feelings for Dane. This is an action packed book with some steamy parts. I was gifted this book for an honest review and it's a must read

As with the first book, this delivered on all points. Action, plot, romance, characters and engaging story telling. This does leave you with a cliffhanger and plenty of questions about what happens next, but that's okay, because it is such an involving story-line. You can see the relationships evolving and developing, which is what keeps you reading. I received a copy of this book for an honest review. Just want to get my hands on the next one now!
