Lila…
I can sketch Sam Mason with my eyes closed.
Every line of his tattoos, every muscle in his arms.
Even the crinkle around the corners of his blue eyes with every easy smile.
I know him well...every detail.
He's been my mark for weeks.
Nobody said going undercover as an agent for the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives special units division was going to be easy.
Working my way into the Steel Infidels Motorcycle Club’s inner circle will take time.
Then again I’m a patient and determined woman.
Sam Mason may be the sexiest man alive but he’s still going down.
This time the player has met his match.

Sam…
I admit it. I’m a player.
I adore women and they love me.
I’ve never met a woman that I couldn’t wrap around my body with only a smile and a sexy wink.
Until Lila blew into town.
For the first time in my life, my tricks aren’t working.
I want her and she thinks I’m nothing more than a two-bit thug.
It’s time for the player to up his game.

This is my first Dez Burke book. Her speciality is BWWM books. From my understanding, this is her only book with a nondescript female. FMC is described with green eyes and dyed reddish, purple hair; no mention of skin color.

Plot

Apparently this is the third book, each one featuring a different brother. I have not read the previous books and followed along just fine as a standalone book with HEA.

I found myself kinda dragged into the characters and story here. An MC book with a plot beyond sweet butt MC ho drama?!?! Wtf?!?! Did hell freeze over~?

Anyway...

FMC is undercover. MMC is in a MC club. Who's playing who? Who thinks they know who's playing who? Who really is playing who? And, who gives a fuck at the end of the day who's playing who?

It's a lustful play for a few days before "the one" kinda love romance develops.

The Good

Aside from some repetitive inner monologues, the flow is fairly fast and entertaining. The scenes aren't knock your socks off substance or high adrenaline, but they're cute, funny, or smexy enough that the lack of substance didn't bother me. This is light, easy reading.

I enjoyed the dry humor, such as a trip to a supposed bootlegger that ends up being a trip to an aunt's house to drink hooch. Fun times... Fun times.

I enjoyed the sexy brand of fun the author creates, such as the dick pic scene, the ass tattoo scene, the basketball scene, etc.

I enjoyed the character's voices, and while I didn't feel like I know a lot about them on a personal level or had a particular emo investment in them, I was still satisfied.

Safety Gang Info: No OW/ OM drama. An ex OM makes an appearance at the end, but its to help out the FMC with something to do with the MMC. A random OW (sweet butt) is mentioned as a past regular before FMC, but no scenes or descriptions.

The male MC reminds me of that carefree little brother who always leaps before he thinks. He's a sweet gentlemen to the right lady but still keeps his 'me man, you woman' attitude and dirty mouth.

The author did a great job with working out how the hell a fed agent gets a HEA with the guy she was supposed to be investigating.

The Not So Good

The MMC's sweetness and gentlemen behavior just doesn't fit well with a MClub book.

While the MClub is a major plot point, the actual club, or rather it's goings on aren't a focus... What is said is very tame and watered down to how MClubs work in RL. I personally was able to just kinda overlook that this was supposed to be a badass MClub and go with the romantic focus. But, it's worth mentioning for readers looking for true badass MClub lifestyle.

I didn't care for the birth control plot. Some readers will see it as OTT male alpha take charge' ness. Me? I found it mildly iky dumbass to make such a move.

Overall

For this niche of OTT MClub romance, it's pretty damn good and well written. 4 stars FOR THIS genre.

Again, if you're looking for a dark, gritty, bloody, brooding MClub romance... Move on along.

But, if you're looking for a badboy in theory who's OTT sweet & 100% about his woman, you'll like this one.

Thunderclap was the third book in the Steel Infidels MC series by Dez Burke. It focused on Sam, the youngest Mason sibling. I have read it as a boxed set but have reviewed each individual story as well.

Finally....Sam! Sam was the funny playboy. He was the life of every party with trouble as his middle name.

I was hooked from the beginning. Sam paired with an undercover ATF agent. It could never work. But then Lila surprised me. The premise started in one direction and quickly took a turn that I enjoyed. It brought both humor and suspense into the storyline and kept me intrigued; however, I craved more details and depth. Additionally, although Burke included both perspectives, at times it was heavy with Lila’s and I desired more of Sam.

All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable read. Sam lived up to his personality and it was a great addition to the series. Next up is Sam’s best friend, Toby, in Take Down.

Sam thought he was helping a damsel in distress on the side of the road. Little does he know that she was much more. Lila is undercover to try to get close to Sam to find out some information about the Steel Infidels. Lila sees this as another job and knows she can find the information she needs but she isn't expecting Sam. Sam doesn't think he will Lila get close to him but the more time they spend together the more Sam starts to have feelings for Lila and she starts to have feelings for him as well. In order for the relationship tow work they both have to deal with her job and his family. I thought this was great read and I can't wait to see what is going to happen next. I am looking forward to more from this series!!

Dez you truly have done another great job with the Mason Brothers Series. I found this book exciting with tons of suspense from the beginning. Suspense can be so aggravating but yet stimulating as well and Dez gave us an incredible ride and kept us guessing on what happens next. Sam and Lilah have a rocky start with no trust and lies and both seem to think they are in control of the situation but soon begin on a journey they never expected. This book captivated me from the beginning and the way Dez wrote made it feel so real causing me to feel a strong connection. The chemistry these two have is blazing hot. This book has everything a reader can ask for: a hot sexy alpha male, a sexy heroine (who has an interesting past and isn't such a good girl), sexy hot romance, passion, full of suspense, cooking, danger, history facts, humor and even a little sport action involved. Same is the youngest of the Mason brothers and a huge playboy that could possibly get a prison sentence. He is arrogant, cocky and little dangerous but after you get to know him you find out he isn't such a bad guy after all. Lilah (Delilah) is an agent with the ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Special Units Dept) but has a past with hacking. She was sent on a mission to find the proof of illegal activity with the Mason Brothers and to send them to prison but instead gets her world thrown of its axis and something she never thought could possibly happen. This is an incredible book that yes, can be read as a standalone but its recommended you read the others first to get a true glimpse of who everyone is and their pasts. A must read.

I received this for an honest review. This has been a wonderful series. I have enjoyed the Mason brothers so much.

Sam Mason was the playboy of the bunch. He loved women and had no plans for settling down anytime soon. He did find he had a love for kids. He loved his nieces and nephews so much. He can see himself down the road with a whole motorcycle club of kids.

Lila worked for the ATF in the Special Agents Division. She was assigned to go undercover to get evidence on the Steel Infidels MC. They had got a tip about illegal activities that the Mason guys were doing. She had studied Sam and he was her target.

Lila did not know what she was getting herself into. She was not looking for these guys to have any good to them, especially Sam. She got to see a side of Sam that most did not get to see. She got to see how he helped people and loved his family, friends, and town.

Sam has plan playing the player. Lila is not fooling him. Sam had not expected to fall for her so hard. Now Sam has plan keeping her. What Sam wants he has plan getting. He has not ever met a girl like Lila and he knows she has feelings for him to. He will do whatever it take to keep her. I am really surprised of the action he takes to assure just that. Sorry will have to read the book to find out. I know my mouth fell open and it was something I was not expecting. I might of expected it out of Jesse or Flint but not Sam.

The Steel Infidels are in some serious trouble. They will do whatever it takes to make sure Lila will not take them down. Can Sam protect her and keep her safe? Will Sam have to choose between Lila and his family?

The third Mason brother is no slouch. Each of them holds their own but the love holds them together. Dez did an amazing job with Sam's story and presented a third look into the world of MC. Sam has had a complicated life and has had some serious mess to deal with but he survived. Sam suffered some abuse at the hands of his father and had some pisstivity with his brother Mason for leaving but he worked through those issues and came out on the the other side. He is a jokester and a serious manwhore. He loved women and had no plans for settling down. Then he met Lila and things began to change.

Lila worked for the ATF and was assigned to infiltrate the Steel Infidels MC. She studied the Steel Infidels MC and picked her target - Sam. Little did Lila know that Sam was nobody's target or fool. His smile hide a spine of steel and his charm called to Lila. What would be the outcome of this contest of wills. You buy the book and \discover it for yourself.

I know I will read this again and have to add something extra to my review just because I will discover something I missed the first time.

Job well done Dez!!

*******recieved an ARC in exchange ffor an honest review********

This book had me at page one, damsel in distress & cute bad boy biker stops to lend a hand the heavens part & romance follows. Wrong answer met sassy Lila who's new in town and takes no prisoners. Then there is Sam MC biker who has a way with the ladies until Lila turns him down. But Sam won't be deterred because of the explosive chemistry between them is something he has never felt before. So he begins the chase. Lila seems to have an agenda all her own while extremely attracted to the stranger Sam she's still there to take him & the MC club down. Will she succeed? Will Sam find her out? Will the other MC brothers tell Sam to back off? Could it be the end of the club? You have to read this and find out! This book has it all its sexy, gritty, real, and full of family time that will make you laugh out loud. I loved the relationships the characters had and how even though some were just members of the motorcycle club their bond was thicker then being blood. You don't wanna miss out cause once you read it you will be hooked on Sam & Lila.

*** Received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review ***

I was waiting patiently for the story of Sam and the author came through with flying colors. I love a story where two characters think they are in complete control of the situation, but they slowly slip into something they never planned on. This is the story of Sam ( the younger brother of Flint and Jesse) a true pretty playboy, tattoo artist and Delilah ( ex-con, hacker) now ATF agent, who was assigned to investigate the Steel Infidel for illegal activities. The author wrote the perfect amount, drawing me in to the scenes and allowing the reader to feel a strong connection. The sexual tension between the two right from their first meeting is like a stick of dynamite ready to explode off the page. I have no intention of spoiling your reading pleasure by telling you the story of the book.  I truly recommend that you get this one to read if you love hot alpha males in your story.

This review is from: Thunderclap (Steel Infidels MC) (Bad Boy Romance) (Steel Infidels Series Book 4) (Kindle Edition)
This is book #4 in The Steel Infidels Biker Series by Dez Burke and is a complete standalone book. In this installment of this amazing series the author present us the story of the younger of the Masons brothers. This book is about sexy player tattoo biker Sam Mason and Delilah Ash an undercover agent for the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Special Units Dept. We get to know a little more in the life of Flint and Kendra, Jesse and Trish with their children and others Steel Infidels bikers like Tommy. Also loved the "Aunt Leona" character, she's so funny and maybe we'll know more in the future about Erik too. The plot is full of drama, danger, hot sex, humor, cooking, hackers, basketball, yes I said basketball and a lot more. Awesome biker romance! Does the player got played by a sassy undercover agent???????

I really liked Sam's story. Although, Flint is still my favorite Steel Infidel. I also enjoyed Jesse's story.

Steamy sexy, funny, and sweet. All rolled up in one bundle. I loved the way Sam and Lila's story developed. Sam, knowing Lila was undercover, and Lila thinking the worst of Sam, made you wonder how they were going to work through the crap to get to a relationship. It was a constant struggle for them to remember not to give into the attraction completely because the did not trust each other.

I enjoyed Lila getting in touch with her inner hacker. You have to get the book, and find out what happens next. I am also looking forward to the stories for Toby and Erik.

The bonus is that you get both Flint and Jesse's books in Thunderclap.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thunderclap is Sam & Lila’s story.

Sam, is youngest of the Mason brothers featured in the Steel Infidels series and Lila is with the ATF.

Sam is a player – everyone knows this including Lila, since she has done extensive background snooping on the Steel Infidels. They know that Lila is with the ATF so they send in Sam to “defuse” the situation and to get Lila on their side.

Lila is out to get the bad guys off the streets. She thinks she is being smart, and doing a great job at being undercover. However, being “under the covers” with Sam isn’t stopping her from falling in love with him.

Fast paced read, the player gets played, good cop turns back to her hacking ways…. All pretty predictable. Overall, a good read – enjoyed it while being snowed in for the weekend. Great way to pass the time.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre: MC
Spice: Yes 🥵
Series: Steel Infidels, book 3

Thoughts - Um, excuse me!! How is Sam just the sweetest MMC ever! He’s so kind and considerate even though Lila is his enemy. And then his ‘plan’ toward the end 🥰 could he get any more adorable. Lila MFC is girl goals with her drive and smarts. Special mention to Lila not compromising who she is for Sam. Absolutely recommend if you’re after a golden retriever MC.

Plot - Lila has a simple undercover mission. Infiltrate the Steel Infidels and get enough evidence to put them away for good. She just didn’t expect for them to infiltrate her as well 😏

* Forced proximity
* Law enforcement
* Enemies to lovers
* Drama and suspense
* When the spice hits 🌶️

“Cum for me,” he growls. “I need to see your face.”

This is my favorite book of the series so far. Sam is the ladies man aka player of the group. He gets the job of finding out who the ATF agent is that is coming to investigate the MC. Lila is the agent who of course can't help but fall for Sam. All the while these two keep tabs on each other. She is trying to get the dirt on Sam and the crew. But they know who she is and they suddenly become squeaky clean. So what's a girl supposed to do? Fall for the bad guy who as she finds out really isn't bad at all. If you like hot bikers this is a good series to read!

Youngest brother Sam’s turn to help the club when Lila is new to town and turns out to be an undercover ATF agent. Should be simple... Sam needs to do what he always does; hook up and leave although this time it’s not so simple not even for the best interest of the club of his brothers.

This is book 4 in the series. It's Sam's and Lila's story. To understand the history you should read the books in this series in order. At the time I made this purchase, I received all 4 books as a set.

Lila is a an undercover ATF agent sent to investigate the Steel Infidels. She has her eyes set on Sam as her way in to find the evidence she needs to convict the club. What she doesn't know is that Sam and the other members of the MC have already been given a heads up about who she is. Both Sam and Lila end up playing each other, but neither planned on falling in love.

I always liked Sam and his easy going character. He never planned on falling in love, especially with someone with plans to hurt his family. Lila is good female lead and while she's good at her job, not too many women could fight off the attraction of Sam. It was fun watching them fall and try to ignore what was happening between them.

The next story to be released in this series will be Toby's story. He's Sam's best friend from high school and the newest patch member of the MC who spent years as a Marine. I'm looking forward to seeing who catches his eye.

Sam is the ultimate player. There has never been a woman he did not get in his bed. Until Lila blew into town. For the first time, his tricks aren’t working. He wants her and she thinks he's nothing more than a two-bit thug. Lila is enamored with Sam, even before she met him. He's been her mark for weeks. Nobody said going undercover as an agent for the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives special units division was going to be easy. Working her way into the Steel Infidels Motorcycle Club’s inner circle will take time. Sam Mason may be the sexiest man alive but he’s still going down.

*explicit content*
Sam believes he can play the game with Lila. neither one of them realizes they are playing a very different game, with very different rules. Lila is edgy and loves pushing Sam to the limits. Sam realizes Lila is up for just about anything and loves that about her. Both are in too deep before they know it.

Lila is undercover and here to take down the Steel Infidels MC. When she rolls into town and comes face to face with the man she is there here to investigate she is excited to have an in so quickly, but when her feelings get involved it changes things.

The MC is under investigation by the ATF and their sources say that an agent will be sent in undercover. When Sam recognizes Lila as the agent he is determined use every weapon in his arsenal to make sure she doesn't get what she needs to bring down the club, but his usual charm with the ladies doesn't seem to be working on Lila.

The plotting and antics that Lila and Sam throw at each other to knock them off track in this book cracked me up at times and made me squirm during other scenes. I really enjoyed this story and the chemistry between them. Sam won my heart and I think it is the best of the series so far.

The Mason Brothers! Just yummy all of them. Its Sams turn for Love. Can the Player be Played? Lila is a Undercover ATF Agent trying ti bring down Sam and The Steel Infidels. Sam and Lila have great chemistry from the start. Sam is a funny, loyal and loving. Lila is strong and independent. This book is funny and steamy. You will want to just keep reading see if Love wins out in the end or Prison Time..
Another Great book By Dez Burke. I read these all out of order. Steel Justice first then Safe house & Liberated and the Thunderclap. I loved them all!

We finally get a story for the young fun-loving playboy brother Sam--the last book in this trilogy.

The MC is under investigation by the ATF--which was a surprise because I don't recall from the other books that there were doing anything illegal--but oh well. The ATF sends a woman (Lila) who has decided that the best way into the MC is to focus and the MC clubs figures that the best way to combat Lila is to use Sam. You can tell that Dez played on the Samson and Delila story from the Bible. We get a taste of Flint and Kendra and Jessie and Trisha. We all know that this story ends happily ever after but the journey to get there is worth taking.

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I'll start by saying I'm not a fan of books written in the first person, so that might taint my review. There are some authors that can pull it off and I've grown accustomed to their style of story telling to put my preferences aside. I'm a long time reader of Dez's work so I was surprised to see a departure from her usual third person style of writing. Nevertheless, I read on.

The story was entertaining -Atf agent out to nail bad boy crim. I liked the premise and even the cast of characters, but something about the flipping between the hero and shero first person narrative just didn't feel organic and tempered my enjoyment of the story.

3 stars from me
