I have to say, this was one strange anthology; four authors writing about four sisters, all impacted by their mother's suicide when they were just girls. Though I have really enjoyed Katherine Stone's and Anne Stuart's writing in the past, their stories here were not their best work. In each piece, a sister finds true love (conveniently) but only after much mental, emotional, and sometimes physical anguish.

A couple of the four authors were better at keeping me guessing who the true villain was, and for that reason I bumped up my initial rating of two stars up by another half star. Since you can't award half-stars here, and because in my school teaching days I always leaned toward rounding up, 3 stars it is.

The plot is a bit like a fairytale- about bad guy and good girld. I especially liked the way different sisters met their men - or fell in love with them, being rescued makes it easier - to love your saviour. The style does not change so much with the different aouthorsa of the four different part. readable and enjoyable for a weekend or two.I certainly recommend it, but I read translated version. May be the style is humorous not so serious as it aounds in the first part. All the four sisters are vivid and self-made - apart from childhood nothing else is in common. At least my opinion, I may read it for a second time before returning to the local library.
