"Tarot Decoder" traces the meaning and imagery of the cards down through the centuries, starting with the best-known early decks and culminating with the present-day fascination with mysticism and the unexplained. Featured inside are illustrations of beautiful ancient Tarot decks as well as fine contemporary examples from all over the world.
This book is ok. It starts off like another tarot book. An introduction explaining the history of the tarot. Then goes into simple care of your deck. How to prepare for s reading. How to phase a question. It moves on to share some tarot spreads you can practice including the Celtic Cross. That is all fine but then the rest of the book goes through all of the tarot cards and their meanings in regards to the ten position in Celtic Cross spread. That part of the book I found useless.
This book explains what each card in the Tarot means when it falls into a certain position of the Celtic Cross. So if you want to know what the Sun is in position 6 or 9 in a Celtic Cross spread it will tell you. It will also tell you what certain combinations mean with the card before or after it is. This is great for a beginner! When I do a Celtic now I sometimes get this book out to see if I can glean a little bit more information, I have been reading the Tarot & Lenormand for 20 years now, but I still like to confirm my readings now and again!
