We suffer for no good reason. Whether grief as in the case of the woman who finally found the man for her, only to see him suddenly die. Or trauma as in the case of the young man who couldn't stay friends with the people he was bonded to. (Two cases from this book.) And yet, afterward, we can heal because we've suffered.
What happens to those we heal? They tend to suffer again. It's as though healing happens only to help us survive, to suffer another day. And the suffering on the new day will have to be healed anew by someone, who has suffered.
This short book combines a little biography, a little autobiography, a little fiction, poetry, and an essay or two around the ideas of suffering and healing. I hope this book can help someone heal.
