The Everett Files #2

Take You to Hell

Rate this book
The killer looked down at Caleb Everett lying unconscious on the floor. He’d seen him that way on another occasion, although this time circumstances were very, very different. He picked up the can of gasoline and carefully doused the unconscious man – beginning with his head and hair and working his way down Caleb’s body until it was soaked in fuel. He toyed with the box of matches in his pocket …

Caleb Everett knows murder. He’s seen inside the minds of psychopaths, sociopaths and the deranged, and witnessed crimes of passion, hate, opportunity and revenge. But Caleb Everett isn’t a profiler or a cop … he’s a psychic. Teaming up with Homicide Detective Jack Rafferty, he uses his ability to catch murderers before they kill again, and potential murderers before they kill at all.

This time around Caleb has two cases demanding his attention; one perpetrator out for revenge and a serial killer sending sinners to Hell at the flick of a match. And if that isn’t enough to deal with, Caleb also has a target on his back. Someone wants his world to unravel and is plucking at the threads.

If Caleb succeeds in solving these cases will he be damning himself by saving the innocent?

We are reunited with Jack, the local Homicide Detective and of course Caleb, a so called Psychic, who informs the police when he is inside of the killers mind and seeing the murder in progress. Although this book was not a gruesome as Take You Apart (book 1) it still had all the components to keep me on the edge of my seat and racking my brain as to who the murderer is.
The suspense is off the charts when bullets start whizzing past, or into, the ever loving main characters. So do they survive or not? You will just have to read it, I don't do spoilers.

T. J. Spade finishes this book with one hell of a twist and sets us up for the 3rd instalment of the Everett Files.
I am definataly hooked on this series so if you love a Murder, Suspense, Thriller and even some Romance then the Everett Files Series has it.

Thanks T. J. Spade for giving me this opportunity in reviewing your work. You have a new stalker.

Another suspense filled book by TJ Spade!

Take You To Hell is book two in The Everett Files and had me on the edge of my seat while reading. TJ Spade's descriptions of the scenes are incredible. It is like you are right there. I couldn't put the book down. I was left with such a book hangover.....I literally yelled "it can't end here"!

Caleb once again is being targeted in Take You To Hell and when you think you have it figured out you come to find out you are wrong. With his psychic abilities to see into the minds of killers will that help the local police to solve the crimes before more innocent people are hurt? Caleb and Jack embark on a journey to find the killers where friendships and trust are questioned. I don't want to give anything away so definitely pick up your copy today!

Take You To Hell is a definite must read. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in The Everett Files!

Review of Take You to Hell by TJ Spade
This review was done in behalf of CLiK Book Blog.

Again, would love to give 10 Stars if they were available.

TJ Spade is single handedly robbing me of sleep. It's midnight and I have spent an entire day reading Take You to Hell. I've not been able to put it down. Goes without saying that it's riveting reading.

Book #2 in the Everett Files, the writing just gets better and better.
The character development is brilliant, dragging the reader into the mind of a serial killer and psychopath with Caleb Everett for company.

Following on from Take Me Apart, Caleb and Makaylah have barely established their relationship, after surviving the horrors of the last murder case Caleb was entrenched in. Though with tenacity, they are both making light of their complicated and somewhat unboring life together.

Take You to Hell finds Caleb, Jack and the homicide team hot on the trail of a pyromaniacal killer, hell bent on doing Gods work. The killer sees his role as fulfilling the lords commandments, one corpse at a time.

But when one of their own is attacked, Caleb and Jack must juggle two major cases at once, ensuring the safety of the team whilst Caleb explores and develops the depths of his gift in order to get inside the mind of these deranged killers and prevent more innocent lives being taken.

TJ Spade continues to develop her supporting cast of characters, with each playing an integral part in the story. She has built her characters into a pseudo family for Caleb, bringing every character deeper and more firmly into Caleb's personal story.

I thought that I had found a gold mine when I read Take You Apart, but this follow up book only confirms that that gold mine is actually a diamond mine. TJ Spade now has two books firmly entrenched at the top of my 2016 Favourites List and won't be losing this fan any time soon.

Written with great flair and absolutely brilliant to read, my only criticism is the slow, evil tease at the end........... Nope not going to spoil it.

Looking forward with great anticipation of more Everett Files Books from TJ Spade.

Phenomenal Read!

Once again T.J. Spade brings you into the world of Caleb's psychic mind and does not disappoint! This book was even better than Take You Apart and that was outstanding. Bringing new tricks up their sleeve, T.J. Spade brings even more suspense and and plot twists this time around. What I love about this author's writing style is there is never a dull moment and you are kept thinking throughout the book. This author has become one of my favorites in the psychological thriller genre and is a definite one-click author for me.

Wow!!!! That ending....how the bloody hell can you end it there??!!!?? Shit is just about to hit the fan and you end it!!?????? OMFG!!!!

I have no words. Literally no words right now.

TJ has single handedly rendered me speechless. Her writing is brilliant and her storytelling just as brilliant. The sheer detail that goes into every scene is like you're there or watching it unfurl on a movie screen.

To think this is just TJ's second book, shows just how talented she is.

A story full of suspense, revenge, murder..you will be gripping the edge of your seat from start to finish. A story that is so unpredictable you don't know what is going to happen, but one that can be followed easily without things getting confusing.

Things are discovered and things left up in the air. What will happen next?? I don't have a friggin clue but what I do know is...I can't bloody wait to get back into Caleb's mind and find out.

Another truly phenomenal read by TJ Spade, who has quickly become a favourite author.

More Mystery!

This book was so exciting & it kept me interested until the end. Caleb is on the hunt for a arsonist who's been killing people & he finds him too. A couple of questions were answered in this book but several more have come up; especially because it has to do with Caleb's past. Caleb still sees things that currently happen but as he's been embracing his gift he's also seeing more than just the present. Can't wait for the next book to come out.

Wow

This series just gets better and better. The first one really introduced you to the characters and their relationships. This one was very much about the storylines interweaving. I love Caleb and can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

Awesome read! This fast-paced mystery got me from page one. Two great plots/twists with surprising villains. As with book 1, the author has written likeable and developed characters who are witty and have formed a close bond. The main character Caleb is growing and forming a circle of close friends. I enjoyed this book and look forward to continuing Caleb story in book 3.
This is a continuing series. You will benefit from reading book 1, Take You Apart. Book 2, Take You To Hell, will continue in book 3, Take You Home (releasing in December 2016)

Back into the world of murder and mayhem I delved with Take Me to Hell by TJ Spade and just like with book one; I was on the edge of my seat from the beginning. These books have so many twists and turns that I get whiplash following the storyline. And that just makes me want to devour them faster. I love books where just when you think you’ve got a handle on the whodunit, the author throws you a curveball from left field. It keeps me engaged, entertained and fascinated.

I also love the characters. They are flawed, entertaining and close-knit. I like those kinds of crews within books. And I love that we get to follow them over the series of books. I’m not usually a huge fan of thrillers. I tend to be on the sensitive side, meaning I get nightmares easily, and I have no problems reading these. I love that because I love a good mystery novel, something that gets my blood pumping. But too many stories these days are all about the gore and not about the chase. Spade keeps you hooked by fast-paced action and adventure without the need for over the top bloody details.

I cannot wait for Take You Home to come out in December. It can’t come soon enough for me. And I really hope that it’s not the last we’ll be seeing of Caleb, Jack, Makayla and the crew. I’m starting to get attached.

5 stars out of 5

It is never a surprise to me that I get completely sucked into the world of Caleb Everett and his team of heroes. Therefore, I was sucked in from the first word and I finished the book in one sitting. I believe I will be having bad dreams tonight because of this fact. She writes with such a deft hand that I am easily immersed in the story and I have to remind myself that this is in fact make believe. It's a wonderfully orchestrated flow of sweet, sexy and down right scary situations that will leave your heart racing and your head spinning trying to figure out the next step.
This being the second book in the series, I thought I knew what to expect. I knew it was going to be thrilling and a mind game. I still was not prepared for this. The evolution of the characters is done perfectly and exactly what I would expect from someone with such a talent. She is able to dive into the psyche of the biggest psychopath just as easily as a normal person just trying to get by. She does it so seamlessly that I am shocked this is only her second book. I have said before and I am sure I will say it again, I am a fan and I suggest you see what I am talking about. Treat yourself to a psychological thriller that will make you wonder if you are as safe as you think you are.

Reviewing on behalf of Relentless Book Chics Ramblings and Reviews

I’m so glad I discovered T.J Spade as I’m hooked on her books now. This is the second book in the series and what an epic ending, talk about being left with a major book hangover!

It’s been 6 months and Caleb is back working with Jack on another case, they really are a dynamic duo and I love their relationship.

This time, the murderer Caleb can see through the eyes of uses fire as his murder weapon of choice. As more bodies are found, Caleb finds his own life threatened too and some of the evidence found points towards a close friends possible involvement in the crimes.

It’s hard to say too much without ruining the story but there is a huge twist at the end and I can’t wait to see what develops from that in the next book.

This is a great series and if you enjoy murder and suspense that’s a bit different then I highly recommend this one. Take you apart is the first book in the series so start with that before reading this one, you won’t be disappointed, the stories are addictive.

Six months have passed since Caleb Everett took down a serial killer. His life is happy at last now that he has Makayla to share it with. The visions that plague him continue and before long he is hunting another killer.
I loved book one. It had so many twists and turns that I never guessed anything right. So because of that I was worried that book two would not be able to live up to book one. Well, the author tricked me again, this one was even better.
The authors writing is very clever. Again this story wasn’t predictable at all. It’s is incredibly developed with many more twists to keep me on my toes. Even with that all being said, I was able to follow it easily and never got confused. In the end I stopped trying to guess what would happen next and just enjoyed the story.
The characters are really likeable, I especially like Caleb and Jacks relationship. I also really enjoy the author’s writing style and I don’t have any negatives at all. This is a great edition to the series and after reading this book I can’t wait for book three.

T.J. you've done it again. Cliffhanger forewarned. Another ride with Caleb in the world of psychic murders. As usual Caleb is a target but this time it's a double whammy. The second UNSUB is a distraction from the first one. New players are introduced and a whole new game begins. It's six months later and Caleb is honing his ability. Him and Makayla are doing great and you know that means trouble is lurking. Caleb's dreams are intense and lead him to a murdering arsonist in the name of God. The other UNSUB is after Jack's new partner for revenge. This time around it gets interesting for Caleb and the group. Can Caleb help solve both or is there something else about to happen? Again T.J. has written a great story, it flows keeps your interest, and you think you've figured it out BAM you're thrown a curve ball. T.J. is my new mystery psychic suspense writer can't wait till book 3 gets here. A must read!! Take You to Hell (The Everett Files Book 2) by T.J. Spade

WARNING: Gruesome scenes inside.

This is the second book in the series and is 6months on from the 1st. Caleb is really tapping into his 'talents' to help friend and detective, Jack, and is also experiencing further 'skills'.
This is a great, albeit gruesome storyline. It's complex plot wise but easy to follow, with sick and twisted scenes. There's a mix of humour with the detailed horror and a deeper story within the story. Very cleverly written in fact.
The characters are also good, very relatable, likable and sincere...but there is something amiss. I can't honestly put my finger on it because I really wholly enjoyed it, maybe it's the almost none existent 'love' scenes, or the cavalier attitude of the killers, or the ease of which everybody accepts Calebs 'gifts'...I don't know!!!???
Nevertheless, I would recommend this book, it was even better than the first book, which does need to be read first. The story does continue in the next book though.
I was lucky enough to find both books free. 3.5*.

I am addicted! I read the first book and couldn't wait for the second and now I've read the second I can't wait for the third!
What a thrilling read from start to finish. With Caleb’s powers growing and not knowing what comes next he does what comes natural to him and paints his visions. What he's sees terrifies him but he and Jack are not willing to back down and go after this new killer with more determination than ever.
Couldn't put this book down and each page had me wanting more and with that little twist at the end I did not see that coming and was a definite WOW moment for me.
Very much looking forward to the third instalment of the Everett files.

Take You To Hell was a great read. This next installment in to Caleb's life brings more thrills, unexpected turns, and of course surprising drama. The cast of characters just keep getting better. If you haven't read the first book I highly recommend you do before you dive in to this one. I never give spoilers as to not give any of the story away but if you like thrills with a touch of psychic activity then this series is for you.
