A native of south Louisiana, Farrah Rochon officially began her writing career while waiting in between classes in the student lounge at Xavier University of Louisiana. After earning her Bachelors of Science degree and a Masters of Arts from Southeastern Louisiana University, Farrah decided to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a published novelist. She was named Shades of Romance Magazine's Best New Author of 2007. Her debut novel, Deliver Me, the first in her Holmes Brothers series, garnered rave reviews, earning Farrah several SORMAG Readers' Choice Awards.

In September 2010, Farrah joined the Kimani Romance family with the launch of her new series that follows the life of the fictional New York Sabers football team.

When she is not writing in her favorite coffee shop, Farrah spends most of her time reading her favorite romance novels, hanging around on Twitter, and trying to attend as many Broadway shows as her budget will allow. An admitted sports fanatic, Farrah feeds her addiction to football by watching New Orleans Saints games on Sunday afternoons.

I received a copy of this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine!

If you've been following me or my blog for any amount of time, you know I stan for Farrah and the Bayou Dreams and Maplesville series. There's just something about a quaint small town where the writing is so good you can smell the food and feel the breeze on your face and picture yourself in these quirky establishments that seem to fit right in. It's one of those places, like Christina Jones' unique Serendipitous Love neighborhood where you're medium-key mad that these places don't exist so you can go visit.

I digress. Any Time You Need Me is the story of Sam and Aubrey, high school sweethearts destined for each other... to a point. Sam wanted to go away to college; Aubrey wanted to move to LA and be a popstar. At odds about their future as a couple, the two split in heartbreaking, tumultuous fashion. Very soon after, Aubrey is caught up in a scandal that has her afraid to ever step foot in Maplesville -- and to ever face Sam-- again.

Sam has his own demons. Having recently lost his father, he can't sit still and he can't move on. He has a job offer that he can't decide if he's going to take and and as much as he (still, after ten long years) hates Aubrey, he's not over her and he can't stop thinking about her. So when his old high school love shows up in Maplesville, his heart is torn in two- one half full of pain and malice, the other half longing for what might have been.

This novel is classic Farrah Rochon: sweet southern couplings set in the gentle heat of Louisiana, with lots of added steam from the bedroom. I think readers will really like Aubrey. The past ten years in LA have taught her so much about life -- lessons she can pass on to her niece who's about to follow her into the business-- and her trials are timely and realistic. "I thought that's how it worked!" Girl, we all thought that.

To say I enjoyed this book would be an understatement and I'm already waiting on the next one! Snap this one up and enjoy!

Aubrey and Sam past left behind

I am growing to appreciate novellas a little more. I think because I recognize the skill it takes to effectively develop the characters and plot. That is what Farrah was able to do with Sam and Aubrey. The skeleton that clouded over Sam and Aubrey's relationship took some getting use too. I can definitely see how ego would peeve anyone off. What I enjoyed most was the community of Mappleville. Especially the relationship of Ian, Dale and Sam. I loved their brotherhood. True friendship. I also loved how Deena looked after Aubrey. The story was sweet and reminds us not to be held to past indiscretions.

Sweet story

This was a perfectly balanced little novella. It had just the right amount of angst to make it interesting, without setting up more problems than a small book could handle. I have not been fond of Sam in the other books, but here he comes into his own. He has made his way through his problems and is ready to get on with his life. I love how Rochon's characters all learn how they need to grow up and figure out how to restructure their dreams to live a happy life. Very satisfying.

Ms. Rochon is on fire with the Maplesville series. This book was wonderful. Dale was a character who transitioned from being an alcoholic when he couldn’t handle his father’s diagnosis to returning to they guy his friends all knew and loved. Although I’ll admit that there were a few times in this book where Dale behaved like an ass.

It takes a little while to learn what Aubrey did to Dale to make him hate her, even after ten years. During this time of reading kept trying to guess what awful thing she’d done. My guesses were not as shocking as what actually happened. I’m talking gasp worthy.

And despite what happened between them when they were young and stupid, Aubrey and Dale were perfect for each other. Forgiveness can be difficult.

Second Chances at Romance

Sam and Aubrey knew they would be together it just took a 10 year break between then and the inevitable. When Aubrey left Maplesville to be a big star, she also left in shame over a poor decision that she thought would help her career. Sam was left to deal with the embarrassing images of the girl he loved. She returned heartbroken and in a financial strain. Sam was determined to hold on to the hate but his heart sang a different song. Several of the characters from previous books made an appearance. And its easy to see why this series continues to bring new adventures. A second chance romance is one of my favorite book plots.. Loved it.

Sam and Aubrey have a past that is marred by one pivotal event. When the event is revealed while it was bad, it wasn't as monumental as I expected. The epilogue in this installment in Maplesville almost seemed like Ms. Rochon was concluding the series. What was great about this book was that we got a glimpse of not only what it was like for life long friends to be able to depend and rely upon each other, but what it was like for new ones to enter the fold. We also saw how people not only overcame their past, but were about to reevaluate their futures.

Another great book in the Moments In Maplesville.
Loved Sam and Aubrey, they both had issues that needed to be worked out.
Felt sorry for Aubrey about what she did to get an interview with record producer.
Even though she was afraid to return to Maplesville after having a hard to time LA she welcomed by everyone but Sam. I do understand Sam but he also played apart in Aubrey leaving.
Everything worked out in the end Sam not only got the job but the girl also.

Boring

This was a painfully boring read after finding out Aubrey's secret. The story didn't capture me and felt very unrealistic.
