Things Like That Never Happen Here.

The townsfolk of Black Dog wrapped themselves in that sentiment like a security blanket. Being part of the tight-knit, small town shielded them from the horror that plagued the evening news.

And then something happened.

It happened fast. People got sick. People got violent. People died.

But the hunger lived on.

Day Four: Brothers Fight

The truth about how the hunger was unleashed on Black Dog comes out. The team of doctors tasked with finding a cure fight against time and each other to try and save the town, but it may be too late.

Winston and Melanie found a way to survive another night, but the morning brings a new day of threats.

In Black Dog death isn't the worst thing that could happen to survivors.

Desperate times …

In Day Four: Brothers Fight of The Last Five Days series, Black Dog residents and survivors of the Judas virus, Winston Fleming and Melanie Carpenter, are back at Winston’s home. Along with Mark Fisher, one of the doctors brought it to study the virus, the home is invaded by neighbors, now desperate and dangerous men, who are trying to take advantage of the horrible situation in town.

The doctors brought in to develop a cure for Judas struggle against exhaustion and infection while General Hendricks breathes down their necks and plans his own solution for the town’s problem.

This is the 4th day (part) of the five day (part) novel, The Last Five Days by Paul Seiple. Winston Fleming, Melanie Carpenter, and Mark Fisher fight to survive one more day in the town still littered with the walking dead that are trying to eat them. Bad enough gets even worse when the group of local bullies attack them for whatever they can take. Vivid, heartbreaking scenes of death and destruction in the town ratchet up the story’s horror and pace. If you’re a fan of zombie/pandemic tales I would recommend this entire series of short stories.
