Eden Butler's writing is fantastic, poetic, and heartfelt. The type of books you remember. Love her!

Overall Opinion: I am so incredibly bummed out by this book! I loved the first book, Thin Love, and even after a re-read I kept it on my favorites shelf. I even enjoyed the first book in this duet, Thick Love, and I remember being so shocked by the cliffhanger and being uber anxious to get my hands on this book. I re-read Thick Love to remind myself of the story before jumping into this one because it had been so long since I read it, and I still enjoyed it. This one, however, felt like a train wreck. We have them separated for ~4 years with some vague mentions about how their relationship fell apart (but no real time with experiencing that with them), the h engaged to another man, and the h not even loving her fiancé BUT STAYING WITH HIM UNTIL 92%!!!! I also didn't get all the focus on Kiera and Kona. I love those two (the mcs from Thin Love), but why?! Why when the mcs of THIS BOOK are a mess and aren't doing anything to fix their problems?! Then we get wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am fixes to everyone's issues and then a HEA 🤦🏻♀️ Train. Wreck.
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is the conclusion of Aly and Ransom's story. It takes place right after the epilogue in the first book. The two have been separated for about four years and Ransom is determined to win Aly back, but she is recently engaged to another man. There is a lot of dancing around each other, some secrets revealed, some family drama, and a few sexy times...and they get a HEA ending.
POV: This alternated between Aly and Ransom's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Not so great. While I thought it was interesting to touch base with the mcs from the first book (and I also understood that they are huge side characters in this one), I didn't get the huge amount of focus in their drama. I skimmed a bit, I also was easily distracted, and tbh I just wanted it to be over by the time I got close to the end.
Instalove: No, they are already in love from the first book when this one begins.
H rating: 3 stars. Ransom. I have mixed feelings about him in this one. I understood his guilt and need to give her space, but I also wanted him to go after her and fight for them!
h rating: 1 star. Aly. She was completely ruined for me in this book! I liked her in the first book, but she seemed to not have any of the characteristics I appreciated in that one in this one (strong, witty, loyal, considerate, etc.), and I hated how she stayed with the OM for as long as she did.
Sadness level: Low/moderate. I teared up a few times, but I never needed any tissues.
Push/Pull: Yes!
Heat level: Low. They have some tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not many scenes and not so much it takes away from the story.
Descriptive sex: Yes
OW/OM drama: Yes
Sex scene with OW or OM: Yes
Cheating: Yes
Separation: Yes
Possible Triggers: Yes
Closure: This had pretty good closure with what I would call a HEA. I would've liked a farther glimpse into their future, but I was also pretty done at that point so it didn't bother me too much.
How I got it: I bought it when it was on sale for $0.99 on amazon in January of 2017.

OMG I forgot how much I loved Eden's writing when I picked this book up, you know time continues on and then you go OK it's time for my next ARC... And then something magical happens no joke I am mesmerized by the essence of the characters, the storytelling and Eden's ability to pull you in. And then there's the writing.. Sensual and poetic all in one package... So did I enjoy it?? HELL YESS..

Let me tell you, when I finished Thick Love a few months ago there was a WTF moment? I was are you F'N serious? Did that really happen??? BOMBSHELL so when I went into Thick & Thin I honestly didn't know what was going to happen aside from Eden pulling my heart in every direction. She she sure knows how to do that. Ransom and Aly though LOVE each other and throughout this book I felt for both these beautiful sensual characters, it just was a story where they needed to work hard to get their prize.
Random and Aly were kids when they were together previously, so now adults Aly wants Ransom to understand that HE NEEDS TO SEE HER and not the game. Aly and Ransom are characters that feel, and thrive on feeling. But there was a good amount of push and pull. Ransom needed to fight, and Aly needed to forgive. I had many tears, yet at the same I smiled a lot and yelled for them to just be..
Gah Ransom is one hell of an Alpha Hero who knows what he wants. And imagine some highly angry man who wants something he can't exactly get straight away. Hand on chest moments for me.
And did I say sensual?
I'm not going to tell you more, except that Eden Butler knows how you break you apart and then put you back together. Above this is about two people who are meant to be together. It's about Kona and Keira too and about a family that knows what it's about to fall, to get up and keep moving. It's about fighting, it's about LOVE and about being happy.
Then there's Eden's writing, I highlighted so much in this book. Eden's writing alone is sensual and poetic. It's high on the plot and low on sex yet I was panting in my seat. There's just a magnetic pull, she managed to pull my heart, and make me be at the happy at the same time. All in all Eden knows how to story tell..

4.25 Perfect End-Game Stars!
I couldn't wait for Eden Butler to finally release the last book in the Thin Love series. After the mutha of that epilogue cliffy we got in Thick Love, I knew Aly and Ransom had a lot more story to tell...challenges to face. This book is chock full of challenges for both Aly and Ransom as well as the first couple, parents Kona and Kiera. A lot of things happen and the angst is a plenty but in the end, Eden Butler didn't fail me in giving me that happily-ever-after I so needed here. For everyone.
Thick and Thin cannot be read as a standalone and each book must be read in chronological order. We've taken quiet the ride over the years with the Riley-Hale family and I'm happy and sad at the same time to see it come to an end here. We always knew Aly and Ransom were meant to be but sometimes life just pulls you in opposite directions without really acknowledging it until it's too late. Ransom with his pro-football commitment and Aly with her commitment to dance and her hometown of New Orleans. They tried...they failed. Can they try again or is it too late how many years later...
Thick and Thin is chock full of both Hawaiian and Creole culture. Of family and values. Commitment and sacrifice. Of love that gets that second-chance even after years apart. It's funny how both Ransom and his Aly get that long-awaited second-chance romance much like that of his own parents Kona and Kiera in Thin Love. Everything goes full circle here and it's all very sweet and touching.
Eden Butler has the gift to immerse her readers into plot that, albeit fairly light on steam, is heavy on heart. We fall for the characters, their culture, and their love story. I sincerely look forward to what's next in store with Eden Butler.

This was a first time read of Eden Butler and of course I kinda jumped right into the series with Thick & Thin. It wasn't hard figuring out who the key players were or the heart wrenching details that torn them apart. And for the record I owe one of these characters a huge...huge apology. I thought he was a snake in the grass waiting to strike, nothing could have been further from the truth. Thick & Thin was rich in culture and tradition, I especially enjoyed the language and tone.

5 'angst and drama' stars
Gah! The previous two books are full of angst, so would I think this will be any different. Eden Butler is an evil sadist queen. I'm so eager to know what happened in between the 10 years gap.
Why is Aly being proposed by someone else, while Ransom clearly thinks Aly belongs to him? Why? Why? Why?
You know, Ransom was merely eighteen in the previous book, so I understand there is a need of growing up for both him and Aly. Apparently, lives get in the way and they drifted apart, but not due to lack of love for each other. We slowly began to understand the reason and experience the heartache for these two young lovers.
Anyway, back to present times, there is this third wheel in the picture, which I despised. What make it even harder is this Ethan seems like a nice guy. Why can't he be a douche? That would make things so much easier. The saving grace is that Aly's relationship with Ethan took place in the beginning of the book. For me, is like ripping off the band-aid, we might as well get over with it stat.
As for Ransom, after getting over the shock of his girl being engage to someone else, he was determined to win her back or maybe back into her good grace. I admire the fact that he didn't go all alpha male on her and demand her love. Despite having a few assholish moment, he did respect her decision and gave her space.
No doubt, they both love each other hard, but sometimes reality sucks more than anything. Aly no longer want to play second fiddle to Ransom's career and also hiding one secret of her own. But I don't see why she need to tie herself to someone she clearly wasn't 100% in love with, which is why I concluded that they were both idiots.
Their problem was pretty drawn out and add on with the marital problem between Keira and Kona, I'm emotional exhausted. Usually this kind of angst and OTT drama left a bad taste in my mouth. I mean, come on, she should really just left Keira and Kona alone. Why did she go and stir up so much shit. I mean a really big pile of shit. By that time, I'm more worried about Keira and Kona rather than Aly and Ransom.
I don't exactly know why I'm loving this book that pissed me off. But Eden Butler did marvelously save all her evil doing in the end, so I forgive her. Never forget though. Overall, I'm sure this will appeal to ladies who are self proclaimed angst-whore.

This is the continuing angstfest of Ransom and Aly. The last book left us hanging and in a really bad spot. My heart just really went out to Ransom to have see all that! Unfortunately, we get to relive that all over again with the beginning of this book! :(
Slowly, we get the back history of what's been going on with Ransom and Aly since he got drafted professionally for Miami. Aly was torn from her world and she wasn't a happy camper. Ransom was neck deep in everything football. He just wasn't there for her but to be fair, he thought they would be together forever, aka "end game".
Aly's just rubs me the wrong way. I never connected with her and I never "felt" her relationship with Ransom. And it was hard for me to come to grips with an older Ransom...I miss that young carefree boy. This Ransom sounds a lot like Kona!
What I did connect with was the intensity. I loved how after all this time, they both still affected each other so much and how obvious it was to everyone.
There's a situation that Aly let herself get involved in and I really hated it...especially because she wasn't sincere and I hate when people's feelings are played with like that.
However, I did love how close the family is and how much they still consider Aly family...even if it made for some awkward moments.
There's also some tension going on with Kona and Keira that IMO took away from Ransom and Aly's story. But the one thing I did like was how in tune Ransom is with his folks.
Their story does end well...thank goodness. You just get put through the ringer getting there.
Next up is another novella for Kona and Keira called My Always coming out Fall 2016. ♥

Those of you who have kept up with author Eden Butler's reads are well aware that her Thin Love series holds the most angst and heartbreak than all of her other novels combined. I had looked forward to Ransom getting himself his own story but I never could have imagined the toll it would have taken upon my nerves and heart strings.
Thick & Thin CAN technically be read as a standalone but PLEASE DO NOT attempt tp read it without having knowledge of what's transpired in the previous novels. I feel that for you to get the full brunt of of the story and its characters, you have to travel back to the very beginning with Kona and Kiera's story-- a.k.a Ransom's parents. And by doing so, and thereafter diving into Thick & Thin, you come to realize how much is at stake and the fragile, blissful, and painful reality of what love, family, dreams, and external outside forces can drive into a young couples romance and how much they endure to get their HEA or give their final farewells.
I'm not going to go into details and whatnot of what this story entails and what you can expect, but, be sure to brace yourself and come prepared. It really hits a nail on the down and gritty and the joys and sorrows of the unpredicability and votality of life. Much like how Kona and Keira's stories did.
As a reader who admittedly only went into this series because it interwined Hawaiian culture, which is part of my own ethnic roots, the The Thin Love Series blew me away and shattered all of my expectations of what could have ever fathomed it was going to be. I normally HATE HATE, ok, well have mixed reactions of ANYTHING to do with Hawai'i in any shape or form but I liked how author Eden Butler was able to interwine it along with other culutral values into this novel without mocking it or grating on anybody's nerves with how she delivered it along with the story context. More so, if anything, it added on a layer of richness and personality of its own-- one of which I respected tremendously.
Now moving on from my babbling about "Hawaiian this, Hawaiian that" nonsense... I REALLY recommend this read to anyone pondering upon taking a chance upon it. It's not lighthearted. I'll give you fair warning of that. But, it is WORTH picking up if you're looking for something with heart and a lot of depth.

More so, if anything, it added on a layer of richness and personality of its own-- one of which I respected tremendously.
Now moving on from my babbling about "Hawaiian this, Hawaiian that" nonsense... I REALLY recommend this read to anyone pondering upon taking a chance upon it. It's not lighthearted. I'll give you fair warning of that. But, it is WORTH picking up if you're looking for something with heart and a lot of depth.

Too much inner monologue!
Geese, boring! If I had to read one more chapter of Aly whining about how much she loved Ransom but still wore Ethan's ring I would have been tempted to throw my kindle. Didn't like Aly, she leaves ransom because she had to get a hysterectomy?! That's her BIG terrible secret!? Seriously, what a lame reason. The whole book is boring and filled with Aly feeling conflicted and treating Ethan like dirt when he deserved so much better. And the really the main issue that supposedly broke Aly and Ransom up didn't really get solved because the only reason be retired is he gets hurt again! So it really isn't like he was choosing her, he knew his career was pretty much over due to his injury etc. And its was pretty crappy that Aly was wearing Ethan's ring but continuing to let Ransom kiss her and she kept putting herself in the position for it to happen. And she had SOOO much whiney, spaced out inner monologue that I just started skipping . save your money!!!

I'm so very sad to say goodbye to these characters that I loved since Thin Love. Perfect ending for Ransom and Aly but it took a long time for them to resolve everything. I don't want to give away anything in the story - just happy that everything ended up as it should!! Thank you Eden Butler for this fantastic series!! ❤️

meh... again it was ok. Lots of drama and stuff NOT safe for the safety gang
I didn't like Ransom, the hero. He talks like he has all these examples of real love, so he knows it when he sees it, but yet he doesn't treat Aly like she is the love of his life. I don't like the setup- the whole 1st book to build up their relationship- they finally get together at the end of the book then the epilogue kills it.
Then you get this second book and this book took FOREVER to explain why they weren't together- a simple case of "Ransom and his career came first and he forgot about Aly." Weak. So weak to be the major conflict of a story to justify a 2nd book. Then the author likes to throw in another secret for Aly's reason. I don't know. I just didn't buy it.

I have been dying to read this one for quite a while so when I saw that it was coming; I knew I had to have it. I immediately jumped in with both feet on a Friday night and did not stop until the wee hours of the morning.
Heartfelt, passionate and truly poetic, Thick & Thin captivated me almost immediately and despite the emotional rollercoaster that I embarked on, this book was truly spectacular. The writing is so on point and the characters so impaling, that I was so enthralled with so many feels and so much angst that I found it difficult to catch my breath at times.
A spectacular conclusion to an already phenomenal series, the author nailed this one for sure!

By far my least favorite book of the series. The main thing missing from this book that the other 2 had is its not sexy, at all. The chemistry is sort of still there, but there wasn't any sizzle. This book really was about the family as a whole and not really about Aly and Ransom. I also felt like the time when the book starts and ends only feels like a few weeks, which is not Eden Butler's norm. She is notorious for 10 years to pass before the characters are reunited. This one honestly felt like everything was resolved quickly. The author prepares us for an angst ridden story, but I just didn't feel it this time. I am glad the saga has concluded. Still one of my favorite series.

This is the third book of a three part series and I really did like the first two, this one was a bit harder to get through. Don't get me wrong it was good but just not as much as the first two. I have been anxious to read this one since the ending of 'Thick Love', wanted to see how Ransom and Alys story played out. It just took me longer to get through than the others. A good 3.5 stars for this one.

An exceptional conclusion to this series! Picking up right where we left off in Thick Love, it's the moment of truth for Ransom, watching as the love of his life gets engaged right in front of his eyes. What follows is a romantic journey with a ton of stops and starts and a whole lot of miscommunication that one hopes will lead to the HEA for both he and Aly.
In addition, there is a side-story involving Kona and Keira, the couple who clearly found their way back to each other but show that nothing in this world should ever be taken for granted. A surprising twist in their ongoing love affair is hard on the entire Riley-Hale crew and serves as a reminder just how important ohana is to all of them.
Thick & Thin, along with the first two books, is very rich in both Hawaiian and Creole history. I loved the continued use of phrases from these different cultures. It made the entire experience so special. There is an abundance of love that simply pours out of each character and you can feel it. They are fiercely protective of not only each other but of the heritage they display so proudly.
The love between Ransom and Aly is a bit of slow dance but yet it burns so brightly. The sexual tension, the passion these two have for one another was wildly sexy and every bump in their road was never taken for granted. It simply pushed them to figure out what they ultimately wanted and to really see each other like they should. Aly and Ransom and Ethan. Keira and Kona and Cass. What a tangled web we weave when what we truly want is not in our grasp. Book 3 is a final installment of the Thin Love series. And I committed the cardinal sin of readership when I agreed to read their story.
I had not read the other two books. Yep, I did the thing that I hate when other reviewers do when they decided to land in the middle or end of the story. However, the book was gifted to me for an honest review whereas the author stated it could standalone. And she is right. Although the start of the book, I will admit being a little lost. At 35%, the author does provide an clear and meaningful flashback that gets the reader caught up in the angst of the story. If I look at the story from a standalone viewpoint, there was a character that I felt was 'smarmy'. I couldn't put my finger on it even at the end because I felt like the character involvement fell off the radar. 3.5 stars out of 5.
So now I'm at a loss. The writing and editing were good. The storyline and interaction of the primary characters carried the story. Why 3.5 stars? I don't want to get into the details because *spoiler*. Possibly I would feel differently if I had invested in the characters from books 1 & 2. But the storyline fell off at 70% for me. If you loved books 1 & 2, I believe you will enjoy the closure this installment brings. However, personal recommendation would be not to read book 3 without doing so.

One of the things I love most about reading is formulating the story in my head. Allowing my imagination to run away based on the voices in an author’s head. Allowing my thoughts to intermingle with their talent has always made reading my lifeline.

This is one of those books that grips your heartstrings and pulls them tight only to let them go when your heart is filled to the brim with love and happiness. This series takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions that will lift you up, let you down, and then cause you to soar up high. Eden writes such emotional, soul binding words that have you turning pages at light speed to continue the journey. You will feel like you are part of the story cheering for them to take that leap for boundless love. I'm sorry to see Aly and Ransom's story come to and end but I am extremely satisfied with where we are leaving them. I can't recommend this book enough. Go back and start at book 1 to be taken on a journey of love like no other. This is real. This epic. This is phenomenal. This is Thick and Thin Love

At the end of Thick love I honestly felt like my heart was been shattered and had a few cuss words been used.
Now we get the conclusion of Ransom and Aly's story and what a conclusion it is. As a reader I rarely have the urge to go read the ending first just to see if it's the ending I was hoping for but Thick and Thin tested my willpower. I'm glad I didn't go read the ending first because I don't think I would have appreciated the story and journey the main characters had to take as much as I did. Ransom and Aly's story is not all hearts and flowers it's about fighting for a love no matter what obstacles you must face especially when you believe it's the kinda love that is so soul deep you can't imagine surviving without it . This story was filled with angst passion love and everything in between. It will definitely have you on the edge of your seat till the end.

Book three in this series. Aly and Ransom’s story. Follow their journey rediscovering what they once had but lost when wrapped up in carriers and everyday life. Not an easy task though when one has moved on and the other hasn’t. Aly just accepted the proposal from Ethan to marry him in front of all of her friends and family. Including Ransom. Now it is up to him to make her see that she is making a mistake and to give him a second chance. Will he succeed? Only one way to find out.
I loved this story and was routing for the characters. I did feel though I should have read book two in this series first as at times I felt a little lost with the on-goings. But none the less I truly enjoyed this story. Great job Eden.

Ok.so I strated this first thing this morning and read throughout my lunch break and my other breaks because I just couldn't put it down. I was so mad at Aly in the last book and iwas.still holding a bit of a grudge but afteri relized all that her and Kona had been through and what she was enduring, I sympathized for her. This was a wonderful series about the second. chances you can get with the one you love.

I enjoyed this book more than the first two in the series. While this book is the conclusion of Ransom and Aly's story, I was more interested in Kona and Keira's story woven throughout this book. The characters are well developed and I felt connected to Aly and Keira. I definitely recommend reading at least Thick Love before reading this. Yes, this book can be read as a stand alone, but I believe you will feel more invested in the characters if you read Thick Love first.

This was a perfect ending to one of my favourite series.
I loved that this story wasn't just about Ransom and Ally, we get plenty of KonaKeira (and even Koa Mack) too!
As always, Eden Butler's writing was flawless! She makes sure that as a reader, you are emotionally involved. She made me laugh, swoon and cry!
I can't believe we wont get to read about them anymore, I'll miss them!

Ransom and Aly were so frustrating... Its true you can expect angst with Eden Butler. But I was also kind of bored related to the fact that dialogue was non- existent. It was an okay read, but I wasn't fully invested in the characters.

A perfect ending to the perfect family. Loved the Hawaiian culture weaved into every corner of the story. Loved how hard they all loved one another. Loved the loyalty, fierceness, and passion they all display. So glad I got to read more of Kiera and Kona's story and definitely glad Ransom and Aly got their happily ever after. This series is worth way more than 5 stars.
