ACE I don't take women to bed. I take them against the wall, hard and fast, and when I come I make sure they remember. They always do. I'm cocky as hell, but sh*t, I've got reason to be. I own Spades Royalle, the sexiest casino in Vegas. F*ck, the sexiest casino in the country. I'm gonna keep building my empire all on my own - my ties with the mafia are in my past, buried with the bones of my family. I like my money clean and my women dirty. That is until I met Emmy Rose. She says she doesn't want a bad boy. I guess I'll have to change her pretty little mind.
EMMY ROSE F*ck. My. Life. I made one rule when I moved to Vegas two months ago - I would not screw bad boys. Or asshats. Or really anyone I met on the casino floor. And the thing is, I've made good on my promise. I'm here for one reason, and one reason only: it's a f*cking job. Landing in Vegas was never my plan. But plans change when your sister is in a coma and you don't know who put her there. If only she'd wake up and I could get some answers. Until then, I'll do everything in my power to avoid men who have a past as shady as my own.
*** *** Previously published as a five-part serial: 'ACE'. This publication contains all five parts of ACE, plus part one of 'KING'.
***This book contains a helluva lot of chemistry and smokin' hot sex. Just be prepared, babycakes. And don't say I didn't warn you. xo, frankie
Frankie Love writes filthy-sweet stories about bad boys and mountain men. As a thirty-something mom to six who is ridiculously in love with her own bearded hottie, she believes in love-at-first-sight and happily-ever-afters. She also believes in the power of a quickie.
❤️ Get ready to fall in love ... you deserve it! ❤️
With 2/5 five stars I am pushing it, This is the story of ex mafia member Ace Royalle who takes a fancy to one of his cocktail waitresses Emmy Rose at the casino he owns Spades, who is in town waiting for her sister to wake from a coma and pretty quickly he has her in bed and hooked until they find a dark secret than links them more to each other than they thought. What can I say? I didn't like either of the characters Ace was alpha but really arrogant and egotistical (way over the top) and Emmy Rose was just boring. The story line was Ok and the sex was mediocre but over all this was a disappointing read for me. The best thing about was the sexy narration by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell.
This was a contemporary Harlequin. The Male MC was unlikeable because he really wasn't redeemable. He thought of women, and treated them so, as objects - pawns in his mobster family life and toys for his sex addiction. He was a self centered bully with everyone except his friends, that are the stars of the rest of the series - go figure. Everything he did for the Female MC was for HIS benefit. There was no communication, just thoughts in his head. The relief valve and hate sex became mechanical and boring. DNF @ 56%.
Are you looking for a deep story full of literary genius? If so, move along, but if your looking for a cocky alpha man with a couple inches to spare and a heroine that needs a bit of saving...this is the book for you!!
Ace is a dirty boy and Emmy is the perfect match. Lordy they have sexual chemistry to spare. Couldn't get enough of each other and it was hot as an be.
The author did great balancing the smut and the mystery of the storyline. Okay, maybe it's a little more on the smutty side, but yum.
It started out great then it just went downhill from there. The main female character was a walking contradiction. She also wasn't all that likeable in my opinion.
This was a pretty good read and my first time reading this author. Ace is a bad boy he owns a casino that provides all kinds of services. Emmy Rose is a cocktail waitress whose sister is in a coma. When these two meet it was instant love. I really liked both of these character's Ace is a hot sexy bad boy and Emmy is closed off and stubborn, frustrating at times she is doing what she has to do and hoping that her sister wakes up from her coma. These two also has a lot of hot sex and they do it often. They also both have messed up past Ace is from a mafia family. And when her sister Janie wakes up all hell broke loose. This book did have a couple of errors in it as this was my first time reading this author. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Giving 2 stars is probably still quite generous considering that the characters were not all that. The story could have been something but wasn't used to its fullest potential. Instead it was written in an unnecessarily confusing way even though the outcome was clear pretty much from the start.
Ace was an arrogant, egotistical prick who treats women as objects. He loves it when people do as he says and doesn't like to be told "no" (apparently no one ever does either - riiiight..). In walks Emmy who does exactly that and is apparently the first woman ever to turn down his oh-so-amazing-awesomeness. As for Emmy herself, she was just an undefinable mass of contradictions. She tells Ace no on principle because he tells/orders her what to do rather than ask and she hates that he might just be using her but at the same time she willingly spreads her legs for him whenever it suits her. It felt as if the author couldn't decide whether to write her as a whiny poor broken girl or a strong woman who knows what she wants. Both aspects fail.
Communication between the characters is zero, unless they're making fuck-me eyes at each other or begging the other to be fucked. Everything else stays inside their heads for the most part, but apparently being a good lay equals instant true love.
DNF... I'm so sick of reading about these flighty, shallow females that lose all control, including their small brains, when a hot guy can do them right. I liked that Emme seemed like she was strong & she did have some sass. But she had backbone to back up her convictions. Her inner monologue was exhausting & made her look like she actually has no idea what she wants. How she can be so selfish & partake in carnal pleasures while her sister's in a coma with someone who may have had something to do with that, is absolutely ridiculous. I'm also sick of the typical female entourage of girl friends that are nosy airheads. I'm so over reading the same type of formula in book after book. Most of the things that happened were all book pet peeves that make me twitch.
But these are things that, personally, make my ass itch. It's well written, the story was decent & the dialogue was great. If you can get passed the picky details that I loathe, then I do recommend this book.
This story has so much potential but for it didn't live up to my original expectations. When I first started reading I though yessss! This is going to be brilliant and as time went on my excited took a nose dive and I found myself eye rolling way to often at jumbled quickness of the storyline... A lot of it went way to fast for my brain to keep up with and I can't even put it into the insta love category because it doesn't come across that way at the start. I don't know it just didn't click with me. However I am going to come back to it at a later date and re-read this because I really do want to like this book it has so I much freaking potential and I don't know wether it's because I'm it a crappy mood that it's affecting my judgement so yes I think I'll come back to this.
I wanted to like this book; I liked the storyline and the characters, but the amount of sex in this book was just ridiculous. After they'd been together a few times, it would have been fine to gloss over some of the sex scenes without giving a blow by blow of every single time they had sex.
I couldn't stand the heroine in this book, she was so indecisive and annoying. She was saying one thing and in the next breathe doing the exact opposite of what she said. I just could not connect with her nor was i convinced about her "love" for the hero. First book by this author, will try another and hope for the best.
book is between 1-2 stars, don't really like Emmy as i think she is rather fickle-minded & flaky. like can she bloody hell make up her mind on what she wants. a bit annoyed at how she thinks and acts.
I love Frankie Love's style. so amazing!! I love this series ...picking a fave ... McQueen is definitely my favorite male of the group. the others just don't seem a cool, steamy or awesomeness enough ...now don't get me wrong ... but he is just that awesome. & JoJo is my favorite lady for these dudes. so not gotten take any crap from any one ... well her family maybe??! loved this read. way cool. i had to laugh over a review ... if u know anything about Frankie ...well any of this genre ... u will not get away from the cussing in this genre every ... so don't read it (u would not read this in church, well, heck maybe u would, in Starbucks? i use their wifi 2 download them, thx 4 that!! has any 1 else seen that, i am not watching PORN at Starbucks ...but i guess u could call this a racy book. i disagree, with my be a racy read but so not the P word.) ... it is something u have to get over if u r going to read it ... u don't get sweet romances here. lol!! there are other sweet romances, with that style if u prefer ... Frankie and many other authors ... give u what they write ...they are totally honest about it ...and that is that. u take it or leave it ... don't leave a negative review ...when they give it to you straight. i gotta go change my own review ... i don't see any mistakes (unless u r speaking of the book covers on Goodreads, that is the only issue or problem i see ... on Amazon, the covers are a-okay ... i prefer the Amazon book covers to these on Goodreads ...aren't they one in the same, still an Amazon company, right??!) ... someone said the writing was screwed up in the next few books after i had read ACE ... i didn't see them ... i'll correct that Frankie or her PR person did correct them??, maybe u corrected them way before i ever read them. thx!! awesome series ... if u like the steam, hotness and all that ... loved this one bestest. Ace probably 2nd favorite dude! i will continue to read Frankie ...Frankie rocks!! all good in my books. u read what u want and i will to. kind of like i will keep listening to a certain Christmas songs, 'cause i love it ... u don't u listen 2 what u want too ... and i understand. we all should do what we feel or like. it is all good. no worries. this is America after all ... we are the land of choices and options, all should agree with that is okay. learn to live to disagree ...we don't have to agree on every issue. but agree to listen to those to talk. don't look down on them for their decisions. that is totally cool. peace out. have a blessed day and all that jazz. ( ;
This was not for me. If you like hot, cocky, selfish billionaires, then this is for you.
Someone wrote in a review that the MMC was selfish and i could definitely see that. It felt like he thought only with his wallet and his c*ck. It also felt like he forced her to like him. It makes me wonder how they will do when the seven year itch comes along. Will it happen after one? Or are they self sabotaging people that create their own drama indefinitely?
The FMC felt like she regressed so much. She started off as a strong independent woman and then fell back into the role of sex crazed bad boy magnet. A little backwards.
It became repetitive when every person continued to observe that emmy deserved a break and that shes worked hard her entire life. I think she worked a total of 1.5 days in the entire book.
Ace & Emmy's story remind me a lot of my relationship, of course not as luxuries & no mysterious happenings but the true love between two shattered soul's. The bad boy that meets the not so good but not bad, girl. The way SHE captures his heart with out him LETTING her but happening by what is met to be no matter how hard they both try to fight it or push it away. A truly great romantic read that will keep you on the edge of your seat, your panties wet & your heart racing. Frankie Love definitely knows what she's doing.
Really good story. I liked Emmy Rose, Claire and Tessa. Ace and his guys were interesting characters, but likeable. The overall story was interesting and kept me entertained. This was a freebie but I would definitely buy book 2 based on this story.
Emmy & Ace! I fell in love with this couple. I'm a fairly new Frankie Love fan and just started this series. I couldn't download the rest of it fast enough! On to book two....
I actually really liked this book. the plot was decent and i’m lowkey excited to read mcqueen. plus the whole billionaire bad boy with a heart of gold has a special place in my heart lol
Was a little typical but entertaining none the less. Main character's feelings a bit relatable but frustrating all the same. Wanna sit and yell at the main character while reading? (I do that. With tv too) this is a good story for that
Wow , what a story. Ace, Casino Owner, a Player and so much more. Wanting more from life than he is getting. Something missing but not his old life with his Mafia father. He does miss his mother and sisters but now that is long gone. Meeting Emmy Rose gives him a spark in life that he hasn't had for a long time. Now only one thing needs to be done. To make her his. Emmy Rose is such a lost soul. Trying to make ends meet and help her sister Janie along the way. Janie is in a coma so Emmy needs to find out what happened. To keep her life focused, work hard to pay the bills and get by. Until she meets him......Ace. The attraction is there but she doesn't want to be another notch on someone's bedpost. She doesn't know who he is. This is a brilliant story of two people coming together, who have their own demons in life and dealing with them. I know Ace wants more and Emmy needs more but true to life, a very large spanner is thrown into the works. Loved how the characters blended together. Lots of laughter, sex, drama, threats, kidnapping, major life decisions and so much more. A brilliantly written story. Loved it.
