Her Muggle brothers never thought anything odd of Lainey Fitzroy until finding out that she's a witch at age eleven. Determined to learn and succeed, Lainey goes to Hogwarts, where she meets an array of life changing people, like the famous Harry Potter, and the notorious Draco Malfoy, and the ever-faithful Ginny Weasley. Lainey has a few secrets, though-some she doesn't even know about-along with a plethora of decisions to make as her years pass at Hogwarts
*All rights to JK Rowling, who created the wonderful world of Harry Potter. The author only owns Lainey and the other characters she created.
This book is just a fan fiction but I truly wish it would became a real, physical, touchable book! I've never read any fan fiction but this isn't just fan fiction, it's a magical world. I don't mean to sound cheesy, but the author, Kirsten, must have put blood, sweat, and tears into creating this. There are so many wonderful OTPs in the book and even the ones that I don't ship are wonderful. Although we know the twists and turns of the original books (Harry Potter by JK Rowling), the author is able to shock me on every page. Big thanks to opening my rather narrow view on fan fiction. I have high expectations with the continuation of the book!
this was literally one of the best fanfics i had ever read. this fanfic consumed my entire life and i would stay up until like 4 am during winter break to read and it was fully the length of an actual book. tore me to shreds i will tell you that much.
One of the better and well written fanfictions I've read so far. The story is well thought-out and fits (more or less) perfectly in the canon Harry Potter universe.
Perfect read throughout my exam period (every single exam period my love for Harry Potter rises and this story was perfect to fulfil that need).
such an emotionally draining book at the end, i spent months after the read thinking about this work. truly fantastically written and makes you so attached to the characters that i physically felt their emotional duress.
This book is probably one of the best I have ever read. Honestly no fanfic will ever start to compare to this book. I truly wish that there was a physical copy of this book for me to keep.
If you haven’t read this book but are going to, these are a few things you will need to know...
•This book is so VERY well thought out. Keep a grasp of each detail the words have to offer because in some way they will make sense at the end.
•Be ready to fall in love with the Slytherin Six, these six best friends changed my world. They are the friend group I aspire to be in.
•This is in NO way a “Typical Draco Malfoy fanfic.” In fact we don’t get a lot of Draco Malfoy moments until the middle of the book.
•This book is a universe of surprises and adventures, you will follow the hectic life of a “mudblood” Lainey Fitzroy.
•But most of all, allow this book to take control of you because when you read the very last sentence... you will die all over again.
•Get ready for some major fuking plot twists, because this... is the Mudblood standalone.

This does not feel like a fanfic. As you read you grow this sort of connection to the characters and in the end you may truly be heartbroken. The ending could of been better in some parts but other then that 5/5.
I cannot tell you how amazing this ff is, well written and I recommend everyone to read it. It feels canon to the Harry Potter series and has me broken hearted
I firstly read this book last year, and I couldn't help myself but read it all over again. This book has captured me like no other, and it's just not a simple “fan-fiction” the depth of the story, and the not only entertaining but also emotionally draining plot is just excellent. Lainey, the main character, is not perfect. And her emotions, relationships throughout the book are portrayed so realistically that you somehow end up loving her a lot. I must say, that you might want to grab some tissues before reading this masterpiece.
Spoilers here: I loved that in the end she took closure to Brian (who i must say I loved very since his first appearance), them ending together was the cherry on top. I firstly started reading it for Draco, but he was so realistically senseless and boring that I was glad when they both fell apart. I will forever miss Melody.

this book drained me in the best way possible. it exhausted me reading it, that is how good it is. its truly wonderful. the plot had so many twists and turns as well. many fanfiction writers just go off the original plot but the author added her own spark to it which is what made the mud blood so good. this book connects the pain of everyone so well in a way that is mind-blowing. you really can't blame anyone for so many things because they were all victims. ive literally put off reading bm/bs because I'm not ready to go through the rollercoaster the mud blood was like again. this book is truly amazing but beware, it will break your heart.
I cannot express how much I am emotionally attatched to this book, the story, the characters. I love it so much, and it ended perfectly, if not in an unexpected way. If you’re thinking about reading this book, do it. It also took me like three months to read, and when I finally finished it, it was so hard to start a new book. To get over what I’ve just read. To move past it. 10/10 recommend.
Omg. The nostalgia, I used to be obsessed with this. I would stay up all night just to read this, I remember laughing so hard and having fun with this fic. This is a must read y’all. Everyone should read this at least once in their lifetime.
soooo good , life changing like seriously i reference it constantly. read this over covid and i was obsessed. read it alllll day and then stayed up as long as possible to continue reading it. multiple hours a day dedicated to this .
this book has my whole entire heart, thats all i need to say i am deeply attached to every single one of these characters, canon or not i will never forget you, lainey.
