In spite of his apprehensions, Dr. Paul Berger gives in to the psychic pull guiding him home to Norseton and the Afótama clan. His friends are all pairing off in unions blessed by the old Norse gods, but as he lacks the sociability of his peers, he assumes he'll get passed over for a match. However, the Fates have someone unexpected in store for him.
When the newcomer werewolf Petra becomes his patient after being thrown through a truck window, it's evident to almost everyone that Paul is meant to be a wolf's mate. His terse practical nature doesn't bother her one bit. She's more worried that Paul will abandon her because of her wild behavior--the same way her human father left her mother.
To complicate what should be an easy love affair, Paul's wary of being left, too. If he bonds with Petra in the way of his kind, he risks irreparable emotional ruin, and he has good reason to be concerned she won't stay.

Over all the book was good. Not my favorite in the series. But I did like the connection between the wolves and the Vikings. Since I haven't read the previous series to learn about the Vikings it was nice to have an insight into their culture.
Great to see this great couple who just can't resist each other. Loved how the h trailed after him, their bond was so irresistible. As an introvert, he's very cautious but he's absolutely cannot stay away from her. I really liked the mind talk, the couple and with the Queen.
Dr Paul Berger is an oddity among the Afotoma, he has few close connections, and he wants it like that. Unlike his best friend Chris, he hasn't dreamed of or believe their is a women for him. With Tess as the Queen, he like Chris felt compelled to come home. Petra is a she wolf, who left her pack with her twin brother when he was expelled at age 14. From a tribe with in a tribe in Oklahoma. They are half wolves form a strong line. They were heading home to visit their mother's grave when they were involved in a car accident. Petra seriously injured. Picked up by Nix and Esther. Her brother, Arnold, accepts a place in the pack on both their behalf's. Paul is called in to care for an injured she wolf. When she comes to she comes up fighting mad. Petra is both attracted and frightened by Paul. Her wolf wants him and she always listens to her wolf. Her father was human and abandoned them when life became to hard with their strong mother. Paul knows Petra is his mate. He doesn't want one and doesn't know what to do with Petra. He never thought there would be a true match for him. He gets some advice from the lady wolves. He can't seem to stay away. His holding back is pinging on the web, forcing Tess with Nadia in tow to get involved. Loved Paul and Petra's story. Sweet and steamy.
This novella is funny, smart and engaging. Trent's female protagonists are strong, intuitive and wise beyond their years. The males are alphas who respect and adore their mates. It makes for a great read.
Coming home. For Paul, an Afotoma ER doctor, it was the pull of the psychic link when Tess became Queen. For Petra, a half wolf shifter who left her pack at age fourteen, it's a fuzzy memory, at best. When an accident sends Petra through the windshield of her pickup and into a tree in Oklahoma, the Norseton pack reaches out to bring Petra and her brother, Arnold, into the fold. Petra is in a healing sleep when they arrive in Norseton, but she awakens like a snarling, clawing cat. And Paul, who has been checking on her, is the recipient of her violent outburst. It doesn't take long for them to realize there is something "more" between them, but their differences keep getting in the way. It's their similarities, however, that promise to be their undoing. A copy was received in return for an honest review and I've purchased a copy.
Received this book for an honest review from the author.
This is the third book I have read about the Norseton/Afótama Legacy connection and I need to start reading from the beginning so that I can get everyone's story.
Scout is no different in that the story is well written and keeps the reader engrossed in the story until you finish the book. Like a many a reader it was too short. I wanted more more more. The story was not lacking in any matter. I just want to keep reading when a story is good.
Dr. Paul is a hard person to know and tolerate at the best of times so he does not even try any longer to assimilate with people. He believes he will always be alone.
Life has taught Petra not to trust anyone but her brother and at times she does not trust him. This pack of two has been on its own since they were fourteen and they are constantly on the move. As twins they are polar opposites down to the blood type but the love each other. Can two lone wolves learn to trust enough to settle in Norseton.
Paul has been away for ages but lately he had the pull to return to his family and friends, albeit a bit reluctantly. seeing the others find their other half one by one irks him a little bit, but then again he isn't the most likable guy and social skills aren't in his vocabulary. he just wants to do his job as a doctor and that's about it. but when he's called in to tend to Petra, a more then frantic she-wolf, he can't help a small part of him waking up and caring about her. petra comes with her own past and staying in one place wasn't on her agenda. encountering paul, figuring out who and what he is to her makes her battle her own demons from the past. will these two find some common ground to make a start of it, or is their past to severe to overcome to be able to move forward?
a lovely read that just fits the world this was written in, loved it from end to finish, the good, the bad and the hard.
This is book 7 of the Norseton Wolves series and even with reading only a few of this series I did not feel lost or like I had missed too much of the story. This story is Paul and Petra's and having read some about Petra in Seer I was happy to see her get her mate. It made me laugh out loud at times the ways both Paul and Petra tried to avoid admitting that they should be together. It was also really funny seeing everyone around them knowing they belong together and the lengths they went to before finally admitting that they have something worth trying for. This is a great series and even though you don't need to read them all I will probably pick up at least a few others just because I have enjoyed what I read so far.
I absolutely love Paul and Petra's story...What an unlickely couple!
An Afotama and a wolf a first, but this very quirky couple will find a way to make it work, don't all the Norseton residents always find a way?
Petra is a very strange wolf, Dr. Paul is her fated mate, that's what her wolf wants and Petra always listens to her wolf.
Dr.Paul is an Afotama who has always avoided relationships, even though his kind crave touch, but for some reason his magic wants the crazy wolf who attacked him!
I love the craziness of the residents in Noreston, never get tired of them.. I hope I read more about these two!
This is Paul and Petra"s story. Paul is an Emergency Rm Dr. ( Viking Afotama). Petra is his patient and a wolf. Petra and her twin brother Arnold end up in Norseton after she wrecks their truck. When Petra awakes from her coma the fur flies. She wants no part of Paul, the pack she now belongs to. Can she bring herself to trust those around her? What about the pull she feels towards Paul or will she run? I enjoyed this very different story of two reluctant people caught by fate. I give it 5 stars.I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is a blending story of 2 types in 1 hand you have Dr. Paul who is Afótama and he is not willing to give into his heart for fear he will get hurt and left behind and he is helping someone who was injured in an accident. In the other hand you have a werewolf who bonds with Dr. Paul but is afraid of being left along like her dad leaving her mom if he sees her wild side.
I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. This is book 7 of Norseton Wolves by the author.
Paul and Petra fit together perfectly, they both do not like people much, or talking, and both find themselves drawn to one another. But will miscommunication ruin their chances at love?
