Little Werewolf #2

Curious Little Werewolf

Rate this book
Things would be perfect if supernatural disasters would quit creeping up and ruining Giselle’s happy new life. After finally finding the fur-ever home she’s always wanted a witch blows into town promising to reveal the bloody past of Giselle’s birth, and the circumstances that led the little werewolf to end up in the foster care system to begin with.
Hot on the witch’s trail, another pack of wolves is on the hunt for revenge, and will accept nothing less than her death in retribution for the havoc she’s wrought on them.
Caught in the crossfire, Giselle desires only the truth, and if the witch is who she claims to be, the little werewolf must protect her at any cost. If she’s lying, though, Giselle risks her own kind seeing her as a traitor. Neither her new pack nor her hottie witch boyfriend Damien can offer any help. Giselle is on her own again. And if she makes the wrong decision, she’ll lose the only link she has to her own past.

I absolutely love this book giselles character reminds me of me when I was younger. I feel the author did such a great job with these serious! I’ll give you a gist of the story well If you are reading this and haven’t read pretty little werewolf then turn your butt around and read the first one first. Ok so Giselle is a girl who was adopted by Martina and Gavin who are the alpha of her pack she never knew her family. She thought she was abandoned and never thought of. Then out of no where a witch came to her saying she was her mom. No one believed her because witch’s and wolfs can’t have children. They believed she was evil and hurt the brother to the regional alpha. They were not going to let her get a fair trial when they caught her. Giselle stopped them and came to the rescue after defying her family and pack. With the help of her friends she cleared her mothers name. In the process the alpha died and turns out Giselle is royalty after all. She was his niece and the title ended up being hers. She ended up with a lot two mothers, a family, pack, and now regional alpha can’t wait to read the next book.

I fell completely in love with Giselle in Pretty Little Werewolf and I'm still crazy about her. Curious Little Werewolf kept me on the edge of my seat as I never knew what was coming next.

This author has such an amazing way with words that she kept me captivated until the last page.

I read Pretty Little Werewolf last year and fell in love with the characters. I was so excited when I heard the was going to be a sequel and couldn't wait to read it. Giselle isn't ready for school to start back and is grouchy. That is doubled when a strange witch shows up and is interested in her. Giselle has always wanted to know how she wound up in the system and this woman spins an intriguing tell. BUT both the local witches and the wolves tell Giselle to stay away and are extremely secretive about details. That just makes Giselle more determined than ever to figure out the mystery.
First off, Giselle, her two sisters, and her friends are wonderful characters. While they don't always get along, and some don't even like each other, they are there for her when even her adoptive parents don't trust her. The story is intriguing and I was curious, like Giselle, if it was even possible. Watching Giselle work things through and who she turned to and how she grew even in this story was interesting. She believes she is still a lone wolf but everyone else sees that there is so much more to her. There are still a couple of things up in the air with the story that I hope will be answered in another book!
It was a 5/5 for me. I cannot wait to see what happens next in Giselle's life!

Thank you to the author for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

Even better than Pretty Little Werewolf! I wasn't sure what angle this next book would take but this was written perfectly. The mystery, the frustration, and the drama build in just the right flow. You won't want to put this story down until you find out the truth too. Who is Giselle's mother? What really happened, and who is telling the truth? A wonderful story for everyone. YA and up.

Giselle finally found the pack she's been looking for all her life, sisters, a good friend, and a boyfriend who adores her. Life is good. What could possibly happen in this book? Yeah, you know you don't tempt fate by asking that question!

Suddenly her boyfriend is keeping secrets, her sisters are keeping her distracted from something, a strange woman shows up claiming to be her mom, her mind insists on thinking things it shouldn't around the totally off limits boy her sister likes and the regional alpha pays a little house visit. Lots of drama in this fast paced read full of secrets, betrayal, and misunderstanding. It all culminates in a final showdown with the highest stakes.

And that was the part where it fell apart for me. The final resolution felt like a set up for book 3, but did not ring true for wolf behavior. Giselle's tenacity in seeking out the truth, her conflicted emotions over her years of being a lone wolf vs her new reality as a pack member, her introspection and realizations about the boys in her life and her sisters was all well done and matched the character we met in book 1. The reason for her new parents, sisters, boyfriend etc acting the way they did made sense. I don't know why Giselle was so surprised by Damien - he was true to who he has been since the beginning. The final resolution after the showdown felt wrong. It was out of character for everyone involved.

This is book 2 in the Little Werewolf series. While it is a self-contained story arc, it follows the previous book and has spoilers for book 1. Plus most of the character development is in book 1 so I think it would be best to read the books in order.

This is the 2nd installment in the Little Werewolf series, and the book is told from Giselle's POV. Giselle is a werewolf, who has been in foster care since she was a baby. In the first book, she has finally found a place that accepts her werewolf status, but there's mystery surrounding Giselle's birth, and she is still finding it difficult to feel as if she belongs with others. I really enjoyed the first book in this series! I'm still enjoying this story, and I like Katie Salidas' writing. I find this series unique, and I like the mystery behind Giselle's beginnings. I still like how vocal Giselle is, and I like her spunk. What missed with me on this installment, was this one felt more high school. There was too much of the characters being jealous and obtuse about things. They make backhanded comments to each other, and everyone; except for Asher, dismisses Giselle. No wonder Giselle still feels like a lone wolf, she has no support. I was so disappointed in Damien, he never supported Giselle. He keeps secrets, and it just seems that he doesn't care for her very much. This is a small thing, but it bothered me that he wears cologne, which Giselle's werewolf senses have a problem with. I know that's not that important, but for some reason that just proved further for me that he doesn't respect Giselle. The romance was really lacking in this installment, and I wanted to feel more of a connection between the characters. There story did keep me interested, and I'm still looking forward to reading more in this series and from Katie Salidas.

Having a boyfriend and thinking on another had Giselle’s feelings somewhat confused. Besides, there was the trust issue worrying her. What she was missing there? When a woman who looked like a witch, arrived town, more secrets were playing around. A whole new mystery that directly affected Giselle and she was committed to unfold. But a strong will was not enough to deal with the matters at hand. She was emotionally invested and needed his friends help and trust. Interesting and intense this second book where Giselle was dealing with strong emotions that threatened her trust on those she considered dearest. With a new twist that was challenging her new family, the witches and Asher’s pack, Giselle fights the pack and witches’ politics ignoring the conventionalism keeping the suspense and my interest in the outcoming of her actions. Good and strong character with a clear idea of what she considers fair no matter her safety. Entertaining and interesting story with action, suspense, growing pains, some amusing scenes an exciting fight and answers to mend a pain dragged for too long. A story I enjoyed very much and can’t wait for the next.

I've always enjoyed Katie Salida's writing. It's fluid, creative, entertaining, informative and holds your interest to the end. I'm so excited to see her Little Werewolf series in an audiobook. Each character is well fleshed out. I love the supernatural existing in Las Vegas what a perfect setting. And I really think she does a marvelous job expressing the young adult challenges showing that the shifter werewolf community has similar growing pains with their Alpha teens as any normal family. In book 2, Curious Little Werewolf, the main character deals with the question of her adoption as her supposed real mother shows up. I love that she questions everything, takes nothing for granted and keeps investigating until she gets to the truth, which is causing a big stink in the community. The narrator, Kelli Tager does a wonderful job with the story, she made it so easy and enjoyable to listen to.
I received a copy of the audiobook for free from StoryOrigin in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 2nd book in the Little Werewolf series and is told from Giselle's POV. Just as Giselle has settled into pack life, a witch turns up with a shocking revelation that pull Giselle into a dangerous hunt for the truth. This story definitely had a high school feel to it, complete with petty jealousy and backhanded remarks, but it also had suspense, mystery, secrets and some exciting action scenes. The narrator of the audiobook, Kelli Tager, had an easy to listen to voice and she did a good job of drawing you into the scene and individualizing the characters. I really enjoy Giselle’s spirit, courage and the interactions between her and her sisters and her friends. I did find the connection the regional alpha seemed to have to her a bit creepy but it definitely added to the mystery well. This story kept my interest from start to finish and I look forward to reading/listening to more in this series.

Absolutely needed this after finishing Pretty Little Werewolf—it was so fun, plus I cannot resist a pretty cover.

This one drops me right back into this world and I’m hooked right off the bat. I’m still enjoying this world, as it’s packed with drama and fun characters. I recommend anything by this author, as this is my third read of hers in recent history and all have been great.

4 stars.

Familiar Questions

This series must be read in order. The first book is "Pretty Little Werewolf". This is the second book. I can't wait to read "Fearless Little Werewolf"!

Giselle grew up in the foster system as a foundling. She has absolutely no idea who her birth parents were or why they have her up. All she knows is she has always felt abandoned and unwanted. Seeing a woman with red hair like her at a restaurant who somehow looks familiar brings up all kinds of feelings. Who is the woman? Does she know her? How does she know her? Does she know something about her birth parents?

A super werewolf story, aimed at the YA audience but I loved it and I am far from a Young Adult. The story has everything you could want, an engrossing storyline with lots of mystery, a teenage lead character with plenty of attitude searching for her place in the pack. Boyfriend and Sister issues, hidden secrets and heritage all brought together in an enthralling story. The narration ties this all together brilliantly. I look forward to reading the final story. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook from Storyorigin and am leaving a honest voluntary review

I didn't see that coming!!!
Impressive sequel to Pretty Little Wolf, this was a great read that had me binge listening both books back to back. There were some great plot twists that kept me guessing right to the end, and I seriously didn't see that ending coming, I can't wait for the next book because if it's anything like the first two it will be a wild ride not to be missed! Kelli Tager's narration is fantastic, really easy to listen to.

Life has been so great for Giselle. Living with her adoptive family all summer has been great. Too bad it's coming to an end as school restarts tomorrow. Soon Giselle is wishing school is her only problem as a witch shows up claiming to be her mother and once again no one seems to be telling her the truth. Interesting characters, suspense and action will keep you listen until the very end. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request, and have voluntarily left this review.

Giselle is in the middle of another mystery. This one is about her and her parents. Her witch boyfriend, Damien, is keeping secrets from her and the regional alpha seems to have a scary connection to her. She is learning to trust her sisters, but there is so much being withheld.

Book two had many similarities to book one. In some ways, I felt like I was reading book one all over again - just changing up the characters. However, more of Giselle’s past is revealed, and we get to learn who her parents were/are.

This would have been a four star if not for the grammar mistakes which were in both books and some inconsistencies here and there,I do love the story line though.

Fun. Loved the development of the main character. Lone wolf no more having her own pack behind in more ways than might initially be considered.

I fell in love with Giselle in pretty little werewolf along with her family Damian and Ash so I was excited to read Curious Little Werewolf book 2. I think I liked it even better which is saying a lot. Poor Giselle seems to cause trouble where ever she goes even when she doesn't mean to. You would think after finalizing her adoption things would settle down for her but she is as restless as ever. A new witch has arrived in town with a story to tell. Giselle has always wondered where she came from and how she ended up in the system so even though everyone, her family, the wolves and the witches warn her not to trust this stranger Giselle holds her ground. The store is masterfully written and left me chewing my nails wondering if what the witch has to say is true. I loved seeing Giselle be so strong and stand up for herself and for the witch showing an inner strength I don't think even she knew she had. I read the book a second time and was still spell bound by the store and the what ifs. This is a perfect set up for book 3. I can't wait to see where Katie's take the series from here.

I was so excited to find out there was going to be a book 2 to Pretty Little Werewolf, and we would get more of Giselle and her sassy little self and to see how she adapted to her new pack. And Katie does not disappoint.
Giselle is really settling in and feeling comfortable in her new home. Summer is coming to an end and she is really really dreading school again. Normal teenage stuff we tend to take for granted. Out to dinner, and Giselle sees a mysterious woman that sends her stomach into crazy town. And commence the life altering situations. Even after Giselle has shown her instincts are on point, tho her tactics may be off, still no one listens or trusts her, which sets things in motion for more secrets and confusion. But will the truth be found out and win in the end?
I will say we are left wide open for a book 3 that is sure to be full of awesome. Giselle has a lot of promise for her future, and that includes her love life, I am on a certain team (cough Ash cough) but we shall see what happens.

The flow from the first book Pretty little werewolf to this one was smooth, totally flowed right into Curious little werewolf. Giselle , Damien, Ash, Di and the whole crew are in this book. Newly adopted Giselle sees a woman dressed like she's a witch staring her down while she's on a dinner date with her witch boyfriend Damien, it sets her wolf nerves on edge. The woman's name is Cassandra and she claims to be Giselle's mother. How can a witch be mother to a wolf as inter species don't work? If that isn't enough the head alpha of the territories has come calling, asking Giselle questions about her birth , questions that have her seeking out Cassandra to find out more.
Cleverly woven tale, totally had me spellbound , not putting the book down until the end. I thought the first book was great, well this one was even better! Kept me on the edge the whole time. The book was fast passed, interesting and answers all sorts of questions. I love the way Giselle is forming her own pack and that they aren't all wolves! Looking forward to more from this great author!

Couldn't Put It Down

Talk about on the edge of your seat for the whole ride. Sometimes I just wanted to throw the book, hell I even screamed at it. But the book gives you suspense all the way thru. Who is good, who is bad? You just don't know page to page and he makes you not want to put it down. I read it in a night working, that's how good it was.

As for a lesson to be learned, I always seem to find them in Katie's books. Always follow what you believe it, trust yourself and your closet friends. Also he never does well when you hide secrets from the ones your suppose to love.

Once again Katie did a wonderful job and I would love to see more of Giselle's future.

Until Next Time.......Tabi Ann

Curious Little Werewolf is book 2 in the Little Werewolf series. This book is even better than book 1 Pretty Little Werewolf. Giselle is newly adopted and things are settling down. Then a witch shows up and Giselle has a ton of questions. Everyone counsels her to stay away but her curiosity and need for answers pushes her to make hard choices and dangerous decisions. This book hooked me harder than the first book ever did. The author's world building was still incredible and her ability to create such havoc in her characters lives and for me to enjoy every moment of it even as I want to scream angrily is amazing! This book was fantastic, if you enjoy a good suspenseful paranormal this is a book for you!

Curious Little Werewolf by Katie Salidas is Book 2 of the Little Werewolf Series.

An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review.

Having read the first in this series, I had a pretty good idea going in of what to expect from Ms. Salidas and her Little Werewolf Series; I wasn’t disappointed. Even better than the first, we are sucked into a wonderfully-developed paranormal world that includes werewolves and witches, and just a titter of romance and youthful drama that keeps it from being overly-done and still very authentic and realistic, all the while rocking our reading world. There are lots of twists and turns within this series that keep us guessing on what’s taking place...loved it!

I really enjoyed this story. I was excited to get to continue reading Giselle's story! I thought it was well written and flowed really well. It had action and intrigue as we try and figure out who's telling the truth and who's lying and what are all of the connections. There is a little romance going on in this one but it is more on the back burner as Giselle deals with figuring out who her parents are and if they are still alive or if she is being played. There are some nice twists in this story that keep your attention focused and feeling the need to turn the pages and find out what's going to happen next. I can't wait to read the next book and see how things are going to continue to change.
