Wedding day dream or disaster? Dani Ellison has hooked the man of her dreams, but the rough and tumble girl is no match for the groom’s rich and controlling mother. When Aunt Corrine sees the feisty bride accepting defeat, she recounts the day Hurricane Gail blew in, bent on destroying her special day.
This is a feel good story in which horrible things happen to the primary characters. In fact, the people they should be able to trust and care most about are the ones who do the worst to disappoint and hurt them. Aunt Corrine decides that a true story of her own experience will go far to calm the pre-wedding nerves of her favorite nephew and his beloved. I found myself as captivated as Dani and Blake.
It is sad when bad things happen to good people but Aubree tells this tale in such an endearing fashion.
Danielle Ellison feels like her "dream" wedding to Blake Holmswood has been taken out of her hands and into the hands of her future mother-in-law, Trisha. All of a sudden everything she wanted has been turned into what Trish wants.
When Blake's Aunt Corry tells the story of her own wedding to Marshall Shaw, Danielle realizes that she is not the only one to lose control and maybe she doesn't have it too bad after all.
This was such a great novella on love and the ability to get through the tough times.
I loved the story of Corry and Marshall and was just shocked at Gail - especially her speech! That being said the love between Corry and Marshall was so true to get through everything they went through with both her side and his side.
I felt so bad for Dani in that she was so afraid to speak up and it was evident that her and Blake had not communicated enough lately to realize that the wedding wasn't what either wanted. I loved the end!
The author has done an incredible job of making us laugh and then in other parts making our jaw drop in shock! Such an incredible novella!
How do you stop the Groom's Mother from ruining your wedding and being an all-around "nasty nancy"? You need the help of friends and family, namely an Aunt Corrine.
With disaster coming on strong, Dani Ellison, our bride, is about ready to flip on her future Mother-in-law. Her impending husband is of no help. Enter the above mentioned Aunt Corrine and the wonderful folks from One-in-One Fifty.
This story is quick and sweet. However, it missed the mark with me, thus, the 4 stars. Why? There wasn't enough character information on the Mother-in-law, and mainly, One-in-One-Fifty, was too far off to the side.
I hope with the next installment of this Fallen Leaf Collection spends more time with One in One-Fifty.
Negative Eight by Aubree Lane was another great book by the author. I love this continuation in The Fallen Leaf Collection. This book was so good. Dani and Blake are about to be married. A mishap starts Aunt Corrine on a reminiscing jaunt. She tells the story of when she and Marshall got together and got married. She talks about all of their mishaps and the love they shared. This was an entertaining book to read, and I loved every minute of it.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Love this Fallen Leaf Collection. Dani is marrying the nan of her dreams, her wedding is being planned by his mother. Aunt Corrine reminiscences about her own wedding, planned by her friend. You feel as like you are there listening to her story. This is a quick read and I look forward to reading more in this collection. I was given the book for an honest review.
An amazing book centered around a wedding and consisting of moments of realization, acceptance, forgiveness. I love how Ms. Lane intertwines the past and the present and how each book in this series incorporates the members of the One in One-Fifty group. A definite Must Read!!!
This author always comes through. A great tale of family and the cycles that tend to reassert themselves through generations. And I found out what negative eight really refers to. A well-told story, thoroughly enjoyable.
