I can set anything on fire... even her. Just watch me.
Zander Before the accident, I was your average college student ... nah, just kidding. I was hot stuff, know what I mean? I got the job done, on-field and off.
Now I’m even hotter. Call me Inferno and give me what I want -- or get out of my way. I can have it all.
Except Valerie. But that’s gonna change.
She saved my life and didn’t even like me. Still doesn’t. That kiss though… now that I’ve tasted her, I won’t stop until I've claimed her as my own.
Valerie Zander was never my type. Total player, thinks he’s all that. I don’t care what he’s packing in his pants, I don’t go for guys like him.
Now there’s this Inferno guy. He reminds me a lot of Zander -- which means I should hate him. Instead, it’s like my body just completely ignores my brain when he’s around and I’m a melting puddle of lust.
But he’s totally not my type. At all. And I am definitely not falling for him.
No matter how good he makes me feel.
Hero is a sizzling, steamy, panty-meltingly hot bad-boy superhero romance with no cheating and a HEA. For a limited time it includes the bonus novel Impossible Love, also by Victoria Villeneuve
Hi! I’m Victoria Villeneuve. I’m a small town girl at heart, with dreams of living in a cabin in the country with my two dogs and my amazing boyfriend Mike. When I’m not writing you can usually find me enjoying a nice mocha in my local coffee shop, reading some of my favourite books by the lake or playing soccer with my friends.
Valerie is studying to become a doctor. She's down to earth person. She is constantly needing help from Zander. They battle back and forth and Zander always ends up saving her.
Zander is a bad boy with pure luck and he can't change what he is after the explosion. He learns to let go of his friends that cause harm and destruction to the city. Then there is Valerie.
College students get super powers after an explosion with particle accelerator. While battling for good vs evil, there is a love story throwing into the mix. I love it!!
Can they save their love while fighting evil or will they lose? Well? Which side will you pick?
Got three chapters in. The bad editing was noticeable from the very first couple paragraphs but the following killed me: **** When I first saw them , I thought they were all dead, but they had pulses. Some quick CPR helped keep them alive until ... **** 1) How the (blank) did one person do CPR on three people? 2) PULSE! equals no CPR - pulse means heart is working!
ugh, does no one understand how CPR works? Not going to read any further.
**** I admit I knew the editing was a fail when the second chapter had three "I was" sentences out of four and had "pretty much" and "pretty well" so close together. Still I hoped. Doomed as it turned out to be.
When Zander and his two close friends Keith and Samantha decide to interfere with a particle accelerator and get hit by atoms, little did they know what the consequences would be. Luckily for them one of their classmates, Valerie, is a medical student and is able to revive them. Valerie thinks Zander is the most obnoxious person in class, someone who thought himself invincible; even her rejection doesn’t affect him. Still he has more self-confidence than anyone else she knew and getting into trouble seemed to be second-nature to him, although he didn’t want to be judged for his bad life decisions. As a result of their accident Zander, Keith and Samantha realise not only can they fly, but they each have individual super-powers; powers that Zander chooses to use for the good of the city, while Keith and Samantha are more interested in becoming super-villains. But when innocent people start getting hurt, including Valerie, it is time for Zander to take action. Keith and Samantha have taken things too far, but can they be stopped? Not my typical read, but the storyline was engaging and it had a few twists and turns to keep my interest. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Sorry I don't like leaving bad reviews but this book wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I've never actually read a super hero book before so I thought it would be interesting. For me there was no real feeling or connection between the characters. She hated Zander as a person and only met Inferno a few times and she loved him? I just didn't feel the connection. The grammar errors were also pretty bad. A few times Zander was called Zayne and Valerie's last name was Knight in one chapter and King in the next. I also felt pretty bad for Keith even though he was a bad guy. I just seriously cannot figure out how NO ONE guessed who they were. Like really? You had to be pretty dumb not too. I do wish there was an epilogue of some sort as well. I did like that this wasn't your typical book and it did have a lot of action.
This book was amazing. College students who suddenly get super powers after an explosion with a particle accelerator.
Valerie is on her way to becoming a doctor. She is down to earth and a great person. Zander is the all American bad boy with great luck. While to battle for good vs evil is depicted perfectly in this book, the underlying love story is what really drew me in. Coming to terms with what he is, Zander also have to learn how to let go of his friends that cause destruction. Valerie is a key constant in his thoughts. They battle back and forth and Zandet always saves her. With a devastating blow, Zander seems to be done.
Can they save their love or will they lose everything.
I like the inner struggle Zander has with himself. Once he, Keith, and Sam dabble while on the Physics visit to the lab and gain their superpowers, things change. Inferno wants to be a good guy, especially after Valerie saves him, but knows he isn't one. He struggles with what his friends are doing with their powers, but he is unsure if he wants to be a 'hero'. He can't help himself though. When he sees his friends veering off to the bad side of life even further than before, he steps in to right their wrongs. He also gains more of Valerie's attention. However, he is unsure if she would like him for who he really is. I enjoyed this story.
I went into this with an open mind, I love superheroes so I guess I expected something that I would see on the screen in a Marvel movie. Our main hero reminds me of Chris Evans character from Fantastic Four Johnny Storm AKA Flame. The story was somewhat ok 3 college kids are playing around in a college lab and end up setting off a machine (some type of machine that is out of TBBT) and some how end up with super powers, they end up using their powers for evil then 1 turns good, can you see where I am going with this? It was a sweet story, I personally just expected more, I wanted to be more drawn into the story, you kinda knew what was going to happen before you read it.

Valerie is studying to be a doctor, and just happens to be on hand to save the lives of three students who decide it would be cool to get into the particle accelerator while it is running. The three students soon realize that the exposure has given them the ability to fly as well as other unique abilities. Valerie soon becomes involved with the man known as Inferno, but secrets make relationships hard and Inferno will break off contact with Valerie. Valerie and Inferno are wonderful characters, they will finally get together again when he saves her life, their love story is sizzling hot and sexy. Fantastic book.
This book is unlike the other books I've read from Victoria Villeneuve. The plot was interesting with twists and turns and it was action filled with supernatural powers.
I liked the fact that Zander weren't consumed by his supernatural powers though he did his fair share of damage. I liked how being closer with Valerie made him realize things and become more humane.
Definitely an interesting unconventional read to check out.

I found this book to be quite an enjoyable read. The story line moves along nicely and the characters have remarkable interactions. There is strong sexual chemistry between Valerie and Zander as he tries to figure out life with his new abilities. Does he use them for good or evil?? Interesting read!
I received this free from the author in exchange for a honest review. This was a different kind of story for me, I didn't enjoy it as much as I have the authors other books. The story was good, the writing was great, just a little out there for me.
