Assertiveness

Rate this book
Teach Yourself Assertiveness is aimed at business professionals working in an office environment. It is written from the standpoint of someone who wishes to have more presence but is uncomfortable with the more aggressive connotations of 'becoming more assertive'. The central message of the book is that everyone can gain from greater assertiveness, greater confidence and self-esteem. The aim is to acquire the skills needed to tap into hidden talents, define and pursue ambitions, stand up for ourselves, and to extend beliefs and values to others. Jargon-free and straightforward, the book caters for people in a wide range of work environments, including freelancers, workers from home and those in small business.

I needed an assertiveness boost for my new job interviews and this teach yourself book gave me a hefty shot of it. Full of case studies and Q&A portions, I've found more than half the content of this little book very useful and I would be using some of their examples at my next interviews!
