When authors are keen about writing fast paced, steamy and sexy stories, here is a novel that is as beautiful as a peacock. The cover reveals the color of the novel and the tone. For the current generation which is confused thoroughly about love and infactuation, this novel is a sheer example of what old-school type love was all about.

Falling in love is easy, what keeps it going is the conversations and interactions that makes one feel dependent on the other. There are beautiful coversations throughout the novel.

In a few chapters, the readers would get the grip of the tone and type, yet, there are a few details which could have been cut short. The pace of the novel is maintained throughout, and a melodrama keeps seeping through following the scenes. Except for the length, the novel is enticing. Not a novel to pick for a hour or while traveling but something to treasure and read. Don't give it a miss.

I liked the protagonist, even if he was the typical south Indian guy and did not do anything that is impressionable. Yeah the kind of guy we usually friendzone at the first instant - the kind of guy we run to when we have an issue. I liked him, but neither do I approve nor would want someone to do the things he does, for me - so yes I feel obviously like Sinduja. (I will get to that later).

I can not say the same thing about Chilakamma, oops Sravani. Having met enough number of Sravani's in my life, all I can feel is nothing towards her owing to the one dimensional focus of the story.

I loved Sinduja, she seemed my kind of girl; someone I could be friends with, and cursed the author for never giving her her dues, apart from the long 'marketing dialogues' (using Sravani's words) on their sibling love and everything else. What is the deal with her and Vinod?

I understand the stale state of relationship between Jai and his family, but it is really odd to see him being so attentive to Sravani, Sailu and their family and even Viji and then completely leaving his family out of the picture. Is there something I am missing about his character?

I loved the writing style of the author. There were too many instances in the story that made me feel as this is as real as it can get. I somehow predicted the end was not going to be something that I was rooting for, but I was okay with the ending as it made sense.

I loved the beginning of the novel in terms of the language. I did not even have to wait for something to happen, because I was reeling among the words. The critic in me wanted to go past the mundane trek itinerary, which had nothing to do with the story at all, but the English lover wanted to stay.

There were too many conversations between Jai and Sravani - I mean too much to even care for. I don't want a peep into someone else's diary, especially if it was not going to contribute to the pace of the story. The pace of the story wavers between slow - accelerated - then a bit drag and all of a sudden at a jet speed and there we are at the end. But having said that, I couldn't put the book down even when the pace was slow.

Bottom line:
If you love a simple, no nonsense love story with beautiful language this could be your pick.

"Love is not about holding onto a person. It is about holding onto the welfare and happiness of the person."

A novel which begins with the routine route, flows along slight twists and turns. Although it slows down a little somewhere in the middle, the story picks up pace towards the end. Jai and Sravani share some nice moments that are detailed well.

Written with the normal outline of a Hero, heroine and ample number of antagonists, the story ends on a philosophical note.

A Book about Love story I was not expecting much out of it and being a Non-romance fan. But when I started reading somehow Jai and Sravni grew into me like I was watching all the happenings in front of me and the Author has put so much effort in detailing..
Except the plot got little slow somewhere in the middle still it took place in no time.
I found some editing errors apart from that a very good short read.

Note the review might be biased. There are some stories that you really wish the best for the characters in it. This is one such story. May be it is because that the book is written by your best friend or you bonded with the character0s. I will never know. But this is a sweet little read where I laughed, cared and worried along with the characters. What I almost hoped for a sad tragic love story actually ended by leaving a small smile on the face. Hope it leaves you with one too.

300 Days is a heartwarming love story of Jai and Sravani. The love depicted here is old-fashioned, yet has a contemporary touch. Bragadeesh has peppered the love story with lots of pragmatism and coming-of-age dialogues, which make the book an engaging read. Jai and Sravani's characters have been sketched out well. The characters contain depth, that we would surely feel along with them as the story progresses. The supporting characters Sinduja, Chris and Sailu contribute a lot to the narrative. Bragadeesh's writing style is casual and it would surely appeal to readers who love intense love stories. I took a month to finish this book, because I had a feel that the characters were real and I can always go back to them at any point. So, I read at a leisurely pace.

On the flip side, the pace of the story turned slow in the middle. Too many conversations happened between Jai and Sravani, which were exhausting at a point. Also, the book was not edited properly. I couldn't overlook the numerous typos, wrong grammar usage and punctuation mistakes that popped up regularly. It was like reading the first draft of the story. I also felt that Viji's character was not needed for the story. The book would have been just the same without her. That section slowed things down in the book. I would be happy if Bragadeesh corrects all these errors and comes up with a wonderful second edition of the book. Because, it's a beautiful love story that should not be missed.

The most soulful part of the book was its climax. It was heartwrenching and brought tears to my eyes.

Bragadeesh is a promising author, who has the knack of making his readers feel for the characters. I am eagerly waiting to read more works by him.

I downloaded this eBook on an impulse. I saw a friend's post about the book and with a piqued curiosity, I downloaded it on my Kindle. One fine day, I started reading it. First things first, I did like the story by itself. It is sweet and believable. The story gives you enough moments to play your own flashback scenes in your mind.

So, why did I give it two stars? I just could not see past the typos and edit issues in the book. A tighter edit would have lifted the debut novel to greater heights. Due to the edit issues, it became sometimes difficult to follow/remember if I was reading about the protagonist or someone close to him.

Finally, I would like to add that the story has a lot of promise and so does the author. But, before sharing any work on a public platform and to be taken seriously, one must polish it.

A great debut novel.
A story so realistic and heart warming. The book is sure to take you on a trip down the memory lane if you were one of those who were in a relationship 8 to10 years ago. Most of the book is presented as conversations which you would feel you were in some time ago.
The book was a little too long , but not a problem for you would another instance you or one of your friends would have travelled.
The characters and their relationships are well defined that gives you a feel that you have known them always.
The war within oneself of holding on or letting go is 300 days...

A very simple love story told in a nice way. It is fun to get a guy's perspective on a lot of things and love is one such thing. A wonderful read on the whole!

The promise of a simple love story from the blurb enticed me to pick up the book when the writer approached me. He also published a sample from the book before it was released. I read the sample and found his writing to be simple and quite natural.

Plot
Narrated by one of the protagonist, Jai, 300 days is the story of Jai and Sravani who meet during a trek. It is love at first sight for Jai. He pursues her as a friend. What follows is a tale of separation and love.

The story as such was like old wine in a new bottle - the “new” version of the bottle being technological advancement in the form of GTalk conversations and mails. Like aged wine, the story had enough fruitiness to it but the flavor is subtle, making you feel all warm and fuzzy. Jai courted Sravani properly like a gentleman and reading that part of the story was an absolute delight. Platonic love narrated eloquently is the selling point of this book.

Narration & Characterization
The writing was simple and neat. However, there were glaring proofreading errors in the copy that was given to me. The writer brought in this authentic feel to the story with minimal infusion of local language. He did use a couple of Telugu phrases here and there, but that is aptly justified by the context. The narration consistently bordered rambling. Given the consistency, I realized that the writer intended it to be this way as it was written from the perspective of a character who was obviously in love and pain. Initially, I didn’t like it, but the sheer beauty of a platonic love being narrated surpassed that uncomfortable feeling. The characterization was perfect with regards to Jai and Sravani. I felt the writer really didn’t do justice to Chris’s, Sindhuja’s and of that Jai’s parent’s character. I get that this is Jai’s and Sravani’s story, yet I would have preferred a bit more of depth to those characters.

The cover deserves a special mention – It is absolutely beautiful with no image or graphic but just a shade of blue which I love.

MY SAY: A proper romance read.

RATING: 3.5/5

It took me more than a month to finish this book. Not because it is boring, it is not boring, but it doesn't demand you to finish quickly. The pace of the story is slow, lilting. It is like the story is always just there, you go and know about it whenever you're comfortable. Most of the book is written in dialogues. So anytime you read it, you see two people talking in phone. And you are just happen to be silently in conference.

What I am trying to say is that the characters felt very real. I felt those people really exist (perhaps they do).

The story shows what it is to love each other in India coming from conservative background. Although it should have, but it never feels irritating when they move too slowly in the relationship. Probably this is because the author's ability to write wonderful dialogues.

Also, the writing is never pretentious and I like it for that. It doesn't try to be smart, or cool. It never employs any high-brow literary technique and because of that it felt most natural.

But I think the story is too long. I have nothing against the length. But somewhere, I felt the author could do more within that space. The world around them, and everything seems shadowy with the over-emphasis on the two characters.

The family of Chilakamma could have been explored more. Her decision is not convincing for that reason.

Saying all that, I'd say this is a very commendable attempt for a debutant. I am privileged to look at a few of Bragadeesh's other works, and I can say anything from him is highly anticipated.

300 Days is a simple love story of Jai and Sravani. While Sravani is struggling within a confined relationship with Sai, Jai hopes to win Sravani's love. In contrary to the usual, complicated triangular love stories, 300 days sets off with a smooth sail between the two main characters. Following cycles of love and separation, whether Jai finally wins her love is the rest of the story.

300 Days is not a tale of a teen love. Said that the maturity and seriousness of relationships are well-carried from page one. Little gestures that speak of how a relationship between a boy and girl develops and how their dependency gradually becomes an obsession are expressed beautifully. As the relationship reaches a much serious stage, the dilemmas, frustrations and void that matters of love carry are brought-out well too. Readers who are going through or have experienced similar emotions might find delving into Jai's psyche interesting. Most notably, this book can give insights into when love can be chased and when the chase needs to be withdrawn.

Almost most part of the narration is in the form of dialogues and author Bragadeesh's ease of dialogue writing is admirable. The effortless and charming writing style makes the flow unstoppable. Beyond all other remarks, the narration deserves an honour for the warmth and honesty in it!

Bouquet: A love story told in a beautiful manner. The emotions were captured so honestly. Every one would have a piece of it that they could say they related to. Be it the orkut days or texting someone all night for no reason or the confused emotions in relationships. Jai and Sravani were well-defined characters who relate to people we know. The second part of the novel proves how the author could make you want to sit and turn the pages without a break. I wish the first half was edited that way as well. Brickbat: The kindle version has too many typos that personally annoyed me. The scenes were too real and dragging at times and made me want to skip and move on. Wish the other characters were dealt with more depth. But overall I enjoyed reading it. I never put the book down after I crossed 55%. This is a writer with a lot of promise and I look forward to reading more.

300 Days - Beautiful!!

A very good love story with an unexpected climax. The way the author narrates the conversation between Jai and Chilakkama is too adorable. I just loved all the romantic chats and the way Jai surprised his girlfriend on December 6th. One cannot keep this book down without completing it. Reserve a place for this lovely couple in your heart!!
