Bound by Duty & respect for her grandmother & her father, she took the contract hit that her father was unable to do due to the fact that he was out of commission, Cuz of being hurt by the competition… Lil did she know the trouble she was going to face when she was face-to-face with Sexy Alpha Derek Monroe
What I most like about Derek is he wasn’t arrogance like most Alpha are… Derek knew that Jessa was his fated mate as soon as he seen her.. He was very patience with Jessa- I guess even more so , due to the fact she was raised to hate Werewolf Cuz what happen to her Grandmother
I love scenes where the local gang goes up against Derek & Jessa
This book is full of action & Suspends & with Kimber White you can never forget you’ll find Steamy Sex Scenes… So we think….
I felt like Steamy Sex Scenes that we have come so used to seeing in Ms Whites were somewhat lacking in this book… But overall this book storyline was amazing…..I’ve always like Kimber White writing style & can’t wait to read her next book.

Bit of a different kind of story in this series.
You can read this as a stand alone, since the others from the series, don't show up in the story till the last chapter.
Hot story.
He is on her kill list, but when she pulls the trigger, she discovers she can't kill him. Luckily she only shots him, because they are mates!
But from that moment the trouble with other werewolves start in a bad and evil way full of action. Put in her dad who is a famous werewolf killer, her grandmother who got kidnapped and hurt by werewolves when she was young and some very evil werewelf gang from the area and you have a fantastic story.
So much action in all the chapters, hot action and gun action.
Great read again.
I really like her writing style and can't wait to read her next book.

Amazing
I absolutely love this book as I have all the other books kimber has written it truly is a great book packed with everything hot strong alphas its one of the best shifter books I have read I really would recommend this to anyone well maybe not the younger adult can defo get steamy lol

another great read ...
I am sad that I've read the last to this series. I really enjoyed the adventure, twists, and romance it had to offer. This book is just a great way to have a series say "goodbye "

A mile a minute!
This is a fast paced story from start to finish. I enjoyed the authors style of creating characters that were believable and seemed to fall into place easily as dictated to by fate.

I liked the fast pace of this instalment of the Wild Lake Wolves series, however the sex scenes are beginning to become same-same, which is why I dropped it down a star.

The Lyle family is known for their crafty inventions that help them take out shifters, namely werewolves that tread where they aren't allowed. When her father is sidelined while out on a bounty to take out a rogue were, Jessa steps up to the plate to take over the bounty. But when she locks eyes with her intended kill, everything changes.
Derek Monroe is an alpha away from his pack, and in an area where no werewolf should be. He locks eyes with beautiful Jessa about a second before she shoots him. Then the unexpected happens--he stays standing. Jessa knows something is wrong when Derek charges her instead of going down from her father's wolfkiller bullets like he's supposed to. Jessa has been told only one thing her entire life--werewolves are no good to anyone. They take, they kill, they destroy. The more time she spends with Derek, the more confused she becomes. The Kentucky pack is getting bolder in their attempts at expansion, and you won't believe what they are willing to do in order to achieve their goals. Lots of things are revealed in this book that will lead into Kimber White's next series. Can't wait!

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. I just finished this last story in the “Wild Lake Wolves” series, and those are the words that poured out of me as soon as I finished. It was like, having sex. A warm afterglow of something – incredibly awesome. A memory made and held deep inside. That's what this book, and series, has been.
Lead Wolf Derek is so frickin' hot. After each book, I think, “she's (Kimber White, author) not going to be able to come up with some wolf better than that.” And then she does. Amazing how a character can be so all-man/wolf, and yet so sweetly soft and loving, and such a friggin' stud, all at the same time. But that's Derek. And Heroine/Mate Jenna. She's gorgeous, strong, courageous, kind, and totally loving. The perfect match for Derek. If I were an author and was capable of dreaming up such characters, I'd put these two together too. They belong together.
Jenna's grown up in a family of wolf-assassins. Her father and granny have a deep seated hatred of the wolf shifters, and have made their living happily terminating their lives. Dad has invented all kinds of cool things to help put an end to the wolves, and is paid handsomely for his services. What will turn this wolf-hating man into a reluctant believer? Derek, of course. And the story of how it all unfolds is exciting, passionate, beautiful.
I could go on and on about how much I loved this book, but you get the idea. I'm so looking forward to hearing more about the bear shifters in the Wild Lake region, along with the Kentucky wolf shifters. What a ride!

I've loved the Wild Lake Wolves from the very beginning. Each new book pulls you into the pack and makes you feel like you are part of them. In Hunter's Heart, we see inside the world of the hunters that hunt down and kill werewolves. Each pack are suppose to stay inside their own territory. Ohio is no man's land or more appropriately no wolves allowed land. The Michigan/Canadian packs known as the Wild Lake pack are suppose to stay out of Ohio unless passing through. The Kentucky pack, which is controlled by one alpha Chief isn't suppose to venture into Ohio either. The alphas of Wild Lake know that something is seriously wrong with the Kentucky wolves. Wild Lake Alpha Derrick Monroe decided to sneak into Ohio so he could figure out what the Kentucky wolves are planning.
Ohio is Hunter territory. The humans, that know about the werewolves, formed a hunting group that is responsible for hunting down and capturing or killing rogue werewolves. Dad had a side job that brought in a lot of money, he was hired to kill bad shifters. Today something was off, Jessa could feel it. Than she saw her father, he was hurt while hunting his mark. Jessa had trained to hunt so she took over dad's job to save face. Did she bite off more that she can chew?
Alpha Derek Monroe is a Wolf Shifter from Michigan with the Wild Lake Wolves pack. He crossed the border to check out Kentucky Chief Wolf Pack. What he got was a bullet in his shoulder from a human who turned out to be his mate.

Jessa Lyle was born into a family of wolf hunters. Everything she knows and believes in, she's learnt from her father. So when he is hired for a hit and is unable to fulfill his cotract, due to an injury, she takes over. But making that choice changes Jessa's life for ever.
Lone Alpha Wolf, Derek Monroe has been sent to investigate a pack in Ohio's activities. What he doesn't expect is be shot at and injured, and a hit that has been taken out on him. But when he meets the shooter, he has an undeniable attraction and he knows fate had a hand in it.
Now Derek and Jessa have become the hunted. Everything she believed and thought to be true, turns out not to be. So she has to reevaluate her life and her feelings towards the alpha wolf.
I loved this book, it was awesome. The storyline was action packed, and had me gripped from start to finish. It was filled with drama, suspense, and romance. Derek and Jessa were so sweet and they suited each other perfectly. It was really nice to catch up with some of the previous characters as well. Definitely worth the read and I highly recommend it. Overall a captivating and enjoying read!

Amazing story and I am sad to see this series end. This entire series has been a discovery of a talented author of paranormal. Each story complete in itself however it has an underlying story as well, all about packs, good alphas, evil alphas, power and loyalty and love.
Hunter Heart, has Jessa and Derek--unlikely mates. How unlikely? She's the daughter of and part time bounty hunter—OF ROGUE WOLVES (WERES). He is a were—not rogue, but she doesn't know that. Shooting at your future mate is probably right up there in strangest first meetings.
These two have a draw that only mates can feel, and mates of Alphas. Yet her whole life she has been told that all wolves are bad. The family has plenty of reasons to believe that. Can Jessa take her feelings for Derek and set aside the past trusting him when lives are in danger—oh yeah, there is plenty of danger, battling, testing, and the wish for romance in unlikely places.
A pager turner you won't want to miss. I was happy to visit some of the past characters I've grown to care about and to see the hard fought romance with these two very strong people (well person and were). I can't wait for more from Ms. White, she is now on my list of must read authors.

Wow! This book is absolutely packed full of action and suspense, yet also gives a healthy dose of respect for fate, as she leads Jessa and Derek to each other under suspect circumstances, only to have them question their own motives for being where they were, when they were and why.
Jessa, born and raised in a family of wolf hunters, knew that when her father couldn't complete his contract, she would have no choice but to go in his place. If only she knew that that choice would change her life for ever. Derek was scouting for possible problems, out of his territory, but on a mission in the interest of keeping the peace. What he never imagined was having a hit put out on him, and the "hitman" to try and take him out. Two souls thrown together by the hand of fate, these two never truly knew what hit them, until it was too late.
Definitely a book you won't want to miss, this episode of the Wild Lake Wolves series is a standalone. It was easy to follow (I have not read the previous episodes) and did not leave me feeling like I had missed half of the story. An awesome read

Hunter’s Heart: Wolf Shifter Romance (Wild Lake Wolves Book 5) by Kimber White is the story of Jessa Lyle the daughter of Tinker Lyle the famous bounty hunter / killer of wolves. When he was slated to take care of a wolf he is attacked and Jessa takes over for her dad. Jessa knows what she is doing, she has been out on several jobs with her dad. The mark is Derek Monroe a lone wolf. When Jessa spots him and takes her shot that should have hit its mark. Instead of getting the kill shot she just injury’s him. She should have not have missed and there is something going on with her concerning Derek she cannot explain. When she and Derek become the hunted, what she thought to be the truth she discovers is not so and now has to reexamine her thoughts and ideals. Even though this is book 5 this book can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed this story and the storyline was very interesting. The story was more than I expected. I wouldn’t like to read more about the characters in this story. I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review. I give this story 4.5 stars.

Thomas lyle or tinker was a hunter and owned a salvage yard when he is unable to carry out a hit his daughter goes in his stead.
Jessa Lyle is taken with the wolf shifter and his finding hard to end his life. It's a good thing too because Derek Monroe wouldn't have been to happy if his true mate had done more the just shot him. Lol
The people that put the hit on him wants him gone not because of his crimes nope it's because of their crimes. He just needs to find out who they are and get his mate to stop running away from him and to trust him. Never in his widest dreams did he think he would end up with the wolf killers daughter! Oh and then there is the father (the wolf killer himself) to deal with and his mon. Getting their trust should be a peachy! Lol

This has to be the best series I have read by Kimber White.
The world building is spot on. The characters well developed and easy to connect with.
Just the right amount of action to romance.
Rather sad Wild Lake has ended really.
Looking forward to the next series. Mammoth Forest Wolves.

Ms. White has written another great book in the Wild Lake Wolves series. If you have not read any please start with the first and you will not be disappointed.

This is book five in the Wild Lake series, and it is just as good as the others. This book follows the characters of sexy Alpha, Derek Monroe and, Jessa Lyle a beautiful young woman from a small town where her father is a werewolf hunter. When she tries to help her injured father with a hunt, sparks fly between her and the werewolf she is sent to kill. Can Derek really be a bad werewolf just like her father taught her? Or will Jessa find out that not all werewolves are really not as bad as they seem?

Good action packed story.
Jessa Lyle has been brought up to believe the only good werewolf is a dead one, as she joins the family business of hunting wolves in order to claim the bounty.
This busy book even managed to get a little shifter styled romance into the mix. Although it can't be easy to introduce yourself to your Mate when she's just shot you with a toxic poison.
How can Derek persuade Jessa and her family that not all werewolves are brutal killers, especially when they have a pack of blood thirsty wolves chasing them.

I am so ready to runaway to Wild Lakes. These shifters are HOT and SEXY and so honorable that it makes me crazy. This story is Derek's and we pick up where book 4 left us with some more history. We meet his mate a werewolf hunter, some of the Kentucky pack, and one of the lost girls mentioned in book 1 and 2. Really you have to read this series!!! I love it totally.
