USA TODAY BESTSELLING SERIES A new serial by New York Times Bestselling author H.M. Ward
They say the best way to get over a broken heart is a random hook-up. So my new BFF is dragging me to a bar. All I have to do is wear a slutty dress, choose a dude, and do the deed, right? The thing is, this isn't me. I'm the good girl -- the one who has sex for love. But, since the love of my life is shacked up with someone else, I guess it's time to move on.
One night, one time. That's all. I'll have a clean slate.
A guy with a sketch pad, sitting alone, catches my eye. I'm a sucker for the artistic type with dark hair and bright blue eyes. Soon we're in his hotel room doing things I've never done. His smoldering body, perfectly toned with hot skin and a firm touch, has my mind reeling with the things to come. We're both naked and glistening with sweat, breathless.
And then he darts, right before doing the deed, abandoning me in his room. He doesn't return.
A week later I see him again, and realize that he wasn't just a random guy. My heart clenches at the massive mistake, and I still don't grasp the extent of it. I should have run and never looked back.
Genre: New Adult Romance This story unfolds over multiple volumes.
H.M. Ward continues to reign as a NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author who surpassed more than 23 million books sold, placing her among the literary titans. Ward has been featured in articles in the NEW YORK TIMES, FORBES, and USA TODAY to name a few.
Always wanting what you can't and shouldn't have is the one thing you want the most. The hot professor and his equally sexy student trying to fight the desire they have for each other. Just when Kerry is trying to move forward from the past disaster of a relationship, she finds this sexy and desirable man. Nathan made her feel alive again and start to feel things she didn't think she would feel again. Only the bottom dropped out when she found out he was one of her professors. Now both Nate and Kerry are in a battle of giving into their desires or staying completely away from each other. On top of it, she hasn't told anyone about Nate. Not even her best friend Beth. Beth and Kerry's adventures are laugh out loud! I love reading scenes with the the two of them. Between the bus they will drive around with a rabid raccoon to Beth making these orgasmic cookies brings out the humor we expect from Holly. The struggle for Kerry comes spilling out to Beth. She has to make a decision on what to do about Nate. But will Nate make that decision for her when he tells her to come early before class. Can she handle being alone with him again. Time will tell and the book will leave you screaming wanting the next book in the series now!
It's been a while since I spent any time with Kerry and Nathan. Not to mention all the other great characters in their story. True to HM Ward style we fall right back into step with them and sink in like an overstuffed comfy couch!! We left off finding out Nate was a professor and their "one night stand" wasn't likely to happen... Enter Peter Ferro!! A sexy guy that makes us all weak in the knees. But what is he doing here??? Kerry is spirally down the "worst first week of college" rabbit hole! It's unbelievable how and what has gone wrong in her first week! Lose a boyfriend, lose a one night stand, make friends, lose said friends, has the roommate from hell (seriously, I think she's worse than Avery's roommate!) gets smacked with bacon!!! I mean how much can a girl take! Lots of great character development but the mystery remains. Who is Nate, really? What does Peter Ferro have to do with him? And why does she keep driving that bus with a crazy raccoon in it!! Rabies!!
Amazing and awesome sequel of the secrets and lies romantic story written by the phenomenal H.M. Ward. I received an ARC for an honest review. Kerry is having a conversation with Nathan when in comes the sexy, Peter Ferro. He has a copy of a letter for Nathan to read since he was a no show at a meeting. Kerry finds out that Nathan's dad has recently passed away and after Nathan reads the letter, he abruptly leaves. Peter tells Kerry he's going to need someone to talk to and tells her to go to his house. Kerry doesn't even know his address and Peter supplies her with the address. Kerry's relationship with Nathan feels like a boomerang - one moment he needs and wants her and the next moment he rejects and sends her away. Read the highly recommended, must read, love story of Kerry and Nathan. Can't wait for the next one in the series!
Friendship is a very lose word and Kerry is about to find out the value hers is worth. Can the lies get any bigger? Will secrets become exposed? Will Nathan use his instincts or go for what's dangling in front of him.
Secrets and Lies 3 has the angst and comedy in spades and Kerry's inner dialogue is pretty funny. Will she be tossed a lifeline or sink into a misery that it too great to climb out of?
Super quick read. Things continue to seem horrible for Kerry. Her friends are mad at her for modeling and the bullies sharpen their claws on her. She’s drawn to Nate - yet he pushes her away. The story is starting to heat up. Loving this series.
H.M. Ward, mission accomplished! I'm already dying for the next juicy installment in this awesome series!!!
Secrets & Lies 3 starts with a cameo from the infamous Peter Ferro, which will totally send your imagination on hyperdrive while trying to figure it out. Seriously, so many unanswered questions! I'm dying to know what Ferro's connection to Nate is! But wait, there's so much more! Kerry finds herself between a rock and a hard spot when old friends collide with new. And as if that isn't enough for her to deal with, insert her boyfriend stealing mother, bitchy roommate armed with bacon and recovering from a night she can't remember with Josh. Kerry tries so hard to persevere through all her struggles. And it appears as if her "friendship" with Nate might just be the answer to her problems. Until the moment that the risk outweighs the reward. In true H.M. Ward fashion, you'll need to insert a mega cliffhanger here while simultaneously picking your jaw up off the floor!
Love these characters! I actually forgot how much I enjoy this series until I picked it up again. It's like running into old friends and catching up in the best way! I hope the next installment is coming soon!
Kerry is a strong woman. She has to be... her boyfriend has broken up with her, her whole dorm hates her, thanks to the roommate from hell, and she's alone. Until she runs into Nate, his beautiful body and his gorgeous blue eyes... She feels things inside that she has never felt before. As Volume 3 opens up, Kerry finds herself trying to figure out why Nate is trying to push her away. She has broken her relationship with Carter into small little pieces that may never be able to be put back together and has damaged her relationship with Emily. Someone is drugging nice college girls... What else can she take on? HM Ward drags the reader into her novels. The characters are multi dimensional and real. You can feel the electricity between Kerry and Nathan coming off the page while reading each line. You can't help but feel emotional for each character. Now, what does HM Ward have in store for us linking Nathan and the Ferros? What did Peter bring him that caused Nathan to shut down? Hopefully the wait for Volume 4 is much shorter. I'm not sure my heart can wait that long again....
I love all of H.M. Ward's books, they keep me coming back for more every time. In this book Kerry and Nathan are having a conversation when Peter Ferro comes along, he had a letter for Nathan, because he didn't show up at the meeting. We don't really know what's in the letter but I have my suspicions. Kerry had already been through so much since she started college, and now her world is being turned upside down again with the knowledge of Nathan being a teacher. There are so many funny things, such as Kerry driving around in a bus, and the fact that a raccoon lives in this bus with his beedy eyes, but then there is also the sad stuff that Kerry had been through. I received an ARC for my honest review. The next installment will be just as great as this one because H.M. is an awesome writer, she never disappoints us. Holly, keep up the great work.
Secrets & Lies 3 was a fast and fabulous read that I could not put down. Secrets are told but not revealed. Peter Ferro drops a bomb on Nate, but it's not reveal to us.
Kerry and Nate have so much chemistry together and the back-and-forth is killing me. Finding out he's her professor definitely blew the "one night stand" option to get over her asshole ex.
I love Beth and how she is always there for Kerry. I also love Beth's brothers and how they're protective of Beth and Kerry.
Kerry can't catch a break with her horrible witch of a roommate who does whatever she can to hurt and humiliate her. I can't wait to see her get what she has coming to her!
I'm so ready for the rest of the series to see what is going to happen and have all the secrets and lies revealed!
Oh my God!!! What I love about this series is that it's as suspenseful as the Arrangement Series, but in a, sexually frustrating way. I love the relationship development between Nathan and Kerry. Kerry's pet raccoon is one of my favorite characters.
There is so much suspense between trying to figure out what Peter Ferro told Nathan and why Nathan is having such a strong reaction to it. What is going through Nate's head when it comes to Kerry. What Josh is looking for and if he is serious about the rumors he heard.
I'm not sure how much more I could take if I were Kerry, combining all that with a crappy roommate who invites a "special guest" for Kerry, without her permission.
Lordy Lordy..... It feels like an eternity since book two came out and looking back it was Oct 2014 when this came out.
I am really into this story and I was surprised how easily I fell back into Kerry's story and her crazy life. She is a relatable character and I really connect with her.
Kerry's life is a cluster of crazy and the book reads at a fast pace in order to keep up with the antics that this girl manages to land herself in.
HM Ward manages to bring all of her mad writing skills to make this YA read fun, sexy and yet serious at the same time and she just captures my imagination with each new book she bring out.
I received an ARC for honest review: This is probably my new favorite series. Hot professor, sexy student... talk about forbidden love! Kerry has gone through so much recently, but she doesn't do self pitty and doesn't dwell on the drama. I love her attitude, this girl can definitely hold her own. Dealing with the ultimate mean girl roommate (picture Regina George), a friend who may not be who he seems, and a sexy teacher... Kerry will soon be faced with more challenges and I can't wait to see where it takes her (hopefully to Nate's bed). I have to add, I love how realistic these characters are. The dialogue is right on with modern times. Thank you HM Ward!
Kerry has the worst luck ever. Everything seems to go wrong for her and she just started college. She meets a guy and wants him to be her rebound guy and then discovers he is one of her professors. She is trying to get over her Nast boyfriend that left her for her mother. Everything keeps spiraling down from there. This starts were book two left off, with Peter Ferro walking into the room. I am really enjoying this series. Ms. Ward always has a way of sucking me into the story. Her books hook me from the start and I can't get enough of them. I'm anxiously waiting for book four to see what happens to Kerry and if she gets her man. I was gifted a copy for a fair and honest review.
I really like where this series is going!! We're treated to a cameo from Peter Ferro...squeee!!!!!!! But what was in that letter that was Nathan's father's last request??? And what is his connection to Mr. Ferro??? I'm dying to know! I love the amazing pull Nathan & Kerry have to each other, but will their forbidden relationship have a fighting chance? I sure hope so! Kerry's first year in college has been so hard and unfair. Thank goodness for Beth & her over-the-top protective brothers! I sure hope she can work things out with Emily and Carter and finally get to the real reason why their friendship is on the rocks. (Im)patiently wait for Secrets and Lies 4! :)
When I started reading this series I wasn't sure I was going to like it - but I LOVE IT. My only wish would be to not have so long In between. I love Kerry, she makes me laugh and her past and present is so messed up, I really feel for her. I really cannot wait to find out more about Nathan, his past/family and what he has just found out. I am truly praying there is not a long wait for S&L 4 to be released because of how it's been left and I need to know what happens next. Yet another excellent read from HM Ward. I recommend this series.
I think the story line is good, but not enough to keep me interested all the way. I kept putting the book down and when I picked it up again I still hoped the story would turn around, and be more like Damage that I couldn´t stop reading and made me want to keep reading after the last page. I give it four stars because it has some great moments in the romance and some are really funny. And it had me wondering if she ever will get the hot guy that is her teacher in the end. So for my curiosity I give it the four stars and hope I´ll like the following book a bit better.
Wow.... Wow and wow. Great quick read. I received an ARC for an honest review. Loved it......Book 3 continues where book 2 ended and true to H. M. Wards style you will be glued to every page until you read the last word on the last page and the cliffhanger! THEN YOU WILL WANT MORE ASAP. I can't wait to see what happens next and how the story and characters develop in the next book. Loved the Ferro cameo.
Great continuation with Kerry and Nate's story. I swear Kerry should hang out with Syndey, they would be great together LOL. I love HM Ward serials, they never disappoint and you are always left wanting more. So many more things happened and some even funnier stuff! UGH!! What was in the envelop!!! I am dying to know! I could speculate but I bet I wouldn't even come close to whats going on in the authors mind.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was another great short read from H.M. Ward! This books picks up from where book 2 ended. What should be a great first year of college for Kerry has not started off well and it isn't getting better. It was nice to have Peter Ferro show up in this book and can't wait to see how he ties into Nates life. This book leaves you with a cliffhanger and I'm ready for book 4!
Installment 3 is good. It picks up right were installment 2 left off. You definitely get closer to knowing who Nathan is and who Kerry is. This is really being to captivate me...I want more...NOW! The characters are well rounded and this is the installment that you get to see the REAL development! DON'T miss this one.
It seems like everything and everyone is against Kerry. No matter how hard she tries she just can't win. I of course love the Peter cameo at the beginning of the book. I can not wait to see what is next for Kerry and what secret Nathan is keeping!
Secrets and Lies 3 is a puzzle ready to be solved. Lines are drawn for one and crossed for another. You don't know who is a friend and who is an foe. Another addicting read from HM Ward!
I'm a complete fan but this was way too short. Too short for the price. I like Nate and Kerry and am totally ready for more... Just not enough content cover to cover.
It feels like it has been forever since Secrets & Lies 2, but the wait, as always, is well worth it!!! Kerry & Nate do not disappoint in the slightest!! Full of drama, passion, secrets, lies, intrigue, and hotness, as with all of Ms. Ward's stories, they just get better with each installment!!!!
Why does ......... always have to be in the middle of everyones business? Who is trying to drug these girls dang?? THis is steaming up with 2 love love interests. I love it H.M. Ward. You always bring it.
Once again I'm hooked into a series with twists and turns that no one could ever see coming. Secrets still aren't reveled. Sexual tension hangs in the air. And there is crime involved to add to the drama. Another cliffhanger making me crazy to find out what happens next.
It's good and catchy but I didn't feel the need or excitement to continue at the moment and now I don't even remember it, so I lowered 1 star because I remember it was actually good, but not 4 stars good. That's all I can say.
