Pennywise: The Hunt for Blackbeard's Treasure!
In May of 1718, Edward Teach, also known to the Pirating world as Blackbeard, led a week long blockade of Charles Town harbour (today known as Charleston, South Carolina). His only demand was a chest of medicine. After having his demands met, he sailed north with his flotilla into Beaufort Inlet, where he scuttled the Queen Anne's Revenge, hand-picked a crew, and left the rest on a sandbar. Six months after receiving the chest from Charles Town, Edward Teach was killed off the coast of Ocracoke, North Carolina. The story doesn't end there. This was no ordinary chest, and it certainly wasn't a chest of medicine. Blackbeard could have sacked any town on the east coast and procured a chest of medicine. GLT 2021 Reading Challenge: A Self Published Book

Chose to read this to support a NC Author. The book was a little too easy and didn’t keep me captivated like I hoped. Author claims the Netflix show Outerbanks riffed his book but other than generally being set in NC and including a treasure hunt, I didn’t see any similarity.

So Good! Reminded me of the show Outer Banks but set in earlier times. Was a great read!
