Gillian M. Berrow (G.M. Berrow) is a writer and television industry professional living in Brooklyn, New York. When she was little, she aspired to become either a princess or a magical pony. Things seem to be right on schedule.

Another fantastic pony adventure. Follow Trixie as she creates an eye-catching new trick in hopes of joining the illustrious Starmane Society of Magicians.
Suspenseful and well-written. Berrow's perfectly matches the tone of the show. Such a fun adventure that nicely blends action, humor, magic, and friendship.
Includes themes of patience, admitting mistakes, and creative thinking.
As with the other books, there are activities at the end including designing your own clothes, a word search, a maze, and journal prompts.
Such a fun series. I've especially been enjoying the adventures following the side characters in the show.
Cora says her review is "nothing." I think it's hilarious that a my little pony book could totally double as one of those SAT prep novels. In the last chapter alone, Cora got to add "convivial" and "enigmatic" to her vocab. Can't wait for her to whip those out Monday at preschool.
This is our first My Little Pony read and I have to say, I'm impressed! Not only does it have a great message, it's also really well written. We're looking forward to reading more in this series!
Trixie wants to be accepted into an exclusive magician's club. She asks Rarity to make her a special new cloak for her new show. Rarity accidentally enchants her with Glowpaz, which causes her hoof to glow gold whenever it's in contact with water. The situation turns out to be dire when the Glowpaz becomes less picky with what and where it infects. Essentially, Trixie is going to become a golden statue, but she refuses to accept the cure because she thinks the Glowpaz will enhance her show.
Ngl, it was fun reading from Trixie's POV, but either these books are getting really boring, or my attention span is getting worse. The story shifts from the magician show to the cloak to Glowpaz dealers to friendship conflicts to ego and fame, etc. etc. It was mercifully brief, and yet it took me 10x longer to finish than any of the other books. Trixie also doesn't grow as a character throughout the book. She remains stubborn and egotistical even when her life is at stake, and yet still gets accepted into the magician's society at the end.
The biggest plus, though, is that I now know what the Glowpaz Dealer shop is for in the Gameloft app.
A fitting finale to this My Little Pony series but I wish we had more. These books are sweet, short and coupled with a few good life lessons relating to friendship.
This book follows Trixie on a mission to impress the Starmane Society of Magicians, however unfortunately fortunate she gets cursed with a mysterious glowing hoof. The glowing hoof, transforms everything Trixie touches into precious gems. But the glow starts causing trouble for both Equestria and to Trixie; as the glow spreads Trixie’s in danger.
I enjoyed this story since we can see just how much both Starlight and Trixie have grown over time. Starlight can be seen trying to understand Trixie and be more upfront with her feelings even if it means doing what Trixie doesn’t want or expect from her. Trixie on the other hand, is lonely but also confident and although seems to not care about the other pony’s feeling she’s actually very concerned about it. Trixie is still learning that ‘friendship is magic’ so she overlooks her feelings of concern and desire at most times, but it’s great to witness her accepting them slowly.
In this story, we don’t see much of the Mane Six except for Rarity. Rarity plays a key role in story as well as with Trixie’s situation. Given Rarity doesn’t usually have such a big presence it was good to see her get some more story space.
Overall, I think the series ended quite wonderfully. A story about slowly learning about friendships and trusting those around you. Also, I liked how we still got a happy ending in this book thanks to Starlight’s impromptu additions!
I don’t usually review the books I read aloud to my 7 year old but this was on my kindle so it was auto added to Goodreads. So I’ll rate it…
It’s fine for what it is. A My Little Pony novel for the kids. I didn’t object to reading it but I also wasn’t like I go out of my way for it personally. But my daughter would probably give it 3 or 4 stars depending on her mood. Which is why I willingly read it to her.
As the old saying goes, it does what it says on the label. The resident MLP fanatic enjoyed it, and the reviewer gives it full marks because he is rather fond of The Great and Powerful Trixie. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go turn in my man card...
Another cute read! I prefered Applejack's book to this one but I'm glad we got to see Trixie interacting with the Mane Six, especially with Rarity! We were robbed of an episode with those two I sweeeeearrrr
