Mom of two rockin' girls, Reader of everything, Author of The Dragon Guards series and many more surprises to come!

I am a sarcastic, sometimes foul-mouthed, not afraid to drink a beer, always southern woman with 2 of the most amazing teenage daughters,
a menagerie of animals and a voracious appetite for reading who recently decided to write the storied running through her brain. I read my first book, Dr Suess' Cat in The Hat by myself at 4 and was hooked.
I believe a good book along with shoes, makeup and purses will never let a girl down and that all heroes of all the books
I have ever read or will ever write pale in comparison to my daddy! I am a sucker for a happy ending and love some hot sweaty sex with a healthy dose of romance.
I am still working on my story but believe it will contain all of the above with as much SPICE as I can work into it. CHEERS!

OMG I absolutely loved this story. Rory is such a bad ass so full of life and laughter to find him in a coma waiting to die from hellhound poisoning was traumatizing. Claire the phoenix matriarch is his mate and on her way to heal him but as luck would have it she never arrives to the lair as planned because an evil griffin who plans to be her mate as well kidnaps her. And that my friends is all I will reveal of the story. Just know that there is plenty of emotional ups and downs as well as action to be found within, of course there is also romance in these pages.

Do yourself a favor and grab a copy. Ms. Mills gets better with every story she writes and I am so glad that I was given an ARC for an honest review and hope to buy a copy as well.

The Phoenix And The Dragon

The youngest of the blue dragons ( the one who said mates are for saps) has fallen hard for his mate. Claire is the healer of her clan and feels the pull of her mates plight. Going to his aid she is kidnapped by dark forces. Rory must fight the poison in his body to help his mate. If a dragon looses his mate it is pure torture.
This story has a little bit of everything. It has action, romance (very steamy romance) and humor. Claire is the perfect mate for Rory. She gives as good as she gets. Besides being a good at what he does, Rory is also the comic relief of the guardsmen. When he and Claire meet face to face for the first time Rory is knocked for a loop. He has found the woman the universe has made for him. Let the games begin.

Rory O'Reilly is the youngest of three brothers and the Guard commander for the Blue Thunder Clan, also a complete Joker and all around fun loving guy. Sadly he was bitten by a Hellhound in the rescue of this big brothers mate on their trip to Hell and is now on the brink of death. This prompts his mate to rush to his rescue she has known about him for a while even though he had no clue. Great story line love the twists and turns Lots of action and love. What better mate for Rory but a fiery Phonix.

This is one of my most favorite series of all time. I will drop everything to read a new release, as soon as it's out and you better not expect me to do anything while I'm reading it. Nothing gets done, except the book.

This is the 13th book in the Dragon Guard Series. And this is Rory's story.

Rory is the younger brother of Rian and Royce. He's always given his brethren crap and a hard time for being so gaga over their mates, well, now it's his turn. Only problem is, he was bit by a hell hound in the previous book and the poison is slowly killing him from the inside out, at the start of this book. He is basically in a coma, but can hear everything going on around him. The Elders, Kalysta, Siobhan, and Kyra are doing all they can do for him.

There's only one person that can help him....Claire, the leader of the Clan of the Sun. She is on her way to him, but of course it can't be that easy.

I absolutely love all of these characters. Claire is very interesting and I wasn't expecting her to be what she is. Yes, I'm being vague about her because I don't want to spoil it for you. But it's awesome. She is a badass, that's for sure.

Claire will definitely give Rory a run for his money.

Now with the ending. I'm hoping it's Kellan's story next. There were a lot of hints about what happened to him.

Can't wait for the next one. I love this series

REVIEW

*May contain spoilers *

The last book left us with Rory fighting for his life. He has tried and failed to wake his dragon. The healers finally figure out what they are doing wrong but will it be too late? Someone is on their way to help him and he has dreamed or saw visions but she is what he thought he never wanted. Well we get the good vs. evil and it is all hands on deck for the battle to save not only Rory but Claire also. We meet Claire' family and something is up between one of her cousins and one of the guardsmen but whom?

This series continues to get better with each book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I was gifted this book for my honest review.

I can't wait to see what happens next. Thank you for such a truly wonderful series!

Rory lies in a coma after getting bitten by a hellhound. When he listens to the comments around him the name Claire Featherstone comes up and somehow he sees her riding to get to him to save him but dark clouds loom overhead of her. When she has an accident and is taken Rory's guardsman do everything in their power to get her back.

I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. This is book 13 of the Dragon Guards by the author. I was so excited to get my hands on this book and I have to say out of all the book this is the #2 book of the series for me, IMHO. I have read every book in the series this has romance, action, epic drama, revenge all in 1 great book. what more could you ask for from the author.

After swearing he would be an eternal bachelor, Rory learns that the only way to overcome the hell hound venom is by being rescued by his mate. Claire has always known that she would come to have a choice of picking a mate in the light or a mate in the dark. When Claire learns that Rory is incapacitated and dying she becomes determined to make it there in time before she can loose him. One problem becomes clear, the darkness isn't about to give her up. When the situation turns and Claire is depending on Rory to save her, will he over come his death bed and succeed? Will they be able to work together to do what needs to be done for safety?

Another Julia Mills hit and I highly recommend this book to anyone whom loved paranormal romance. Rory was a favorite of mine when it comes to this series and I love his always joking attitude. Claire was the perfect fit for him and loved that the bird shifters were brought into the complete fold! Great book and cannot wait for more of this series!

'Went to Hell … check. Saved my brother's mate … check. Saved a Guardsman we all thought was dead … unplanned, but hell yeah on the check. So now what? Oh yeah, lay here and be bored to death. HA! I mean, that's unless the hellhound poison coursing through my veins doesn't kill me first. Good times. Good times.' If you've been following the series, then you know Rory is the youngest of the O'Rourke boys; a great guardsman and fighter but also the practical joker who rarely takes things seriously. Until he winds up in a coma from the poison of a hellhound.
Claire is the phoenix matriarch. She's also Rory's fated mate. There's just one problem. She's trying to get to her mate and a Griffin has decided he wants Claire and her powerful abilities. Julia Mills has once again shown how fate plays a HUGE role in the lives of these Guardians and their lives. Rory and Claire's tale is one that will capture you heart and keep you in the circle with the rest of their friends and family. I just love this series.

Great continuation of the Dragon Guard series. Rory, the jokester of his clan, convinced he would never ever fall in love and be as embarrassing as his brethren, finally meets his match - the question though is, who rescues whom?
Love this series, not least because each book can indeed be read as a standalone, as whatever happened before that a reader might miss, there is enough information to be caught up and enjoy the current storyline. And it is always lovely to meet characters from previous books.
Great narration style, great characters and a good plot - you cannot wish for more (unless it were a better editor than the one(s) who looked for spelling and grammar errors in this series - missing things like "they're" instead of "there", for example, or other basic errors like this, really does hurt!)

Dragon Guard Rory is in a bed on the brink of death after a hellhound bit him so his family and friends are fighting to save him in any way that they can. It appears that there is one person that CAN save him - his mate and phoenix Clare who is trying to make her way to him while avoiding danger from a family of gryphons. Can she get to him in time or will they catch her and can the rest of the Dragon Guard keep him alive?

This was a story with a few twists in the normal Drang Guard stories due to Clare being a phoenix and the gryphon danger to her. A sweet story that has a HEA and gives you a warm glow at the end. Contains sexually explicit scenes. Well written and very enjoyable.

Potential only

I want to like any book that an author puts out there, as I know the kind of work that goes into making an entire story come to life. I don’t appreciate, however, that this is the 13th book in the series which presumes some sort of mastery of the craft. Misspellings, overuse of bland adjectives, predictability, general gushing just didn’t lend themselves to character development, or action, or even a plot - was there a plot? Sorry Ms. Julia- I think that you could do better.

INTERESTING SERIES, BUT BECAME REPETITIVE AFTER A FEW BOOKS
After reading a few of these, I decided to write one review for all of them. I found these books to be pretty good, if somewhat formulaic. If a reader is looking for a good story with some drama & where the main characters go through some terrible things, but ultimately end up together, I think they will enjoy this series of books. It is sometimes nice to read a "happily ever after" story.

I liked this one a lot. One thing this author gets right is heroines who are kick a**. There isn't a wimpy one among them and I think Claire might be my favorite. Other problems persist and I"m accepting that is just going to be the way it is in this series. The editing needs work especially where the wrong word is used. The mating scene in this one had a little bit extra added on to the repetitive stuff that I can just skip over reading after this many books.

Dies Twice!

Rory finally gets a mate but dies twice before even mating her.

Claire, the daughter of a Sun God & a Phoenix shifter to boot has to make a decision between 2 mates. 1 is for the light & the other mate is dark; but, there’s really no choice once she sees Rory.

This book contains lots of ribbing from both sides of their families & a real as* kicking to the bad guys. But, other than that this was an excellent book.

A female phoenix shifter and a male dragon shifter warrior!

A female phoenix shifter has had dreams of her mate of light. She is also being pursued by a male griffin shifter who is dark. A male dragon shifter warrior has been bitten by a hellhound and is fighting for his life as poison runs through his system. You will have to read the book to find out what all happens to everyone. Lots of twists and turns, kidnapping and so much more. Happy reading!

I love this series! I was quickly swept up in the story and couldn't put the book down. I love the characters and all their nuances. The author does a wonderful job of bringing them to life. Also, the descriptions the author paints had me feeling as though I was right there watching everything unfold. I can't wait to read what happens next.

Rescue mission

Rory was bit by a hellhound on the last mission and his body is shutting down. Claire has known of her mate for several years, she's checked in on him from time to time, now she's flying towards him her only thought to save him. Souls bound by fate, these two will fight to save one another more than once. You soar right along with them as the story flies by.

Reading Order

I have always preferred to read a series in chronological order instead of writing/publishing order. Turns out very beneficial here! This series has been building in intensity with each story giving truth to "and so the plot thickens".
I have shelved ALL other reading material! "HOOKED" doesn't seem accurate anymore!

I love the dragon guards

Look I love this series 😍 for alot of reasons. There awesome read in sequence but they are just as awesome out of sequence so if you don't have a couple you can still read the book you have and not mess up the ones you don't yet still catch most of the story .
