It has been three months since Daniella Brandon's divorce. Worse, her ex has hooked up with a blonde bombshell half his age. Without a job, desperate and in debt, Daniella decides to answer an ad for a female companion to teach a wealthy young man the ropes. Little does she realize that the ad is for not one but two hot twenty-somethings. Twins Trace and Aaron have a very interesting proposition for her. The men want to share her for two weeks, and are willing to pay a hefty fee. Out of desperation-and like it or not she is very attracted to the two young men-Daniella accepts. However, things soon become more complicated, and she finds herself falling hard and fast for one of the brothers. Reader Advisory: This story has graphic sexual language and scenes-no closed bedroom doors (or other rooms) here! An adult contemporary romance from Ellora's Cave Publisher's Note: This book was previously published in 2012.
Daniella is a divorcee. She kept the house (and resulting bills) but has no way to support herself. She's been applying for jobs, but no luck as of yet. Her ex, who was the breadwinner, cheated on her throughout their marriage, unbeknownst to her. Apparently, a few years into their marriage, the tarnish had worn on her "trophy" status, and he started to look elsewhere. (Real winner, there.) So Daniella is in dire straits.
She sees an intriguing ad in a swinger's magazine asking for a companion for two weeks for a virgin. She figures she has no options left and calls and sets up a time to meet. She's not really sure why she's going through with this beyond desperation. And she meets Trace, who is immediately taken with her. She bolts, thinking she can't do this, but Trace convinces her (with money, more or less) to stick around. Turns out Trace has a twin, Aaron (not Cage, as in the blurb), and they like to share, though Trace is a bit possessive of Daniella, so no "traditional" sex with Aaron, but they definitely played a bit.
Anyway, Trace is not who he seems, and when Daniella figures it out, she bolts. But there's what I guess I'd consider a happy-for-now ending.
It was a bit short and parts seemed rushed. It was steamy, and it was nice to see Daniella gain back some of the confidence she lost in the divorce and subsequent budgeting issues. And while Trace seemed to truly be into Daniella, what he was keeping from her was a pretty big deal. It was a bit insta-love as well. Within two weeks, Trace is about to declare his love for Daniella. Lust? Sure... they had it a'plenty, but love? But it was a nice story and I enjoyed it overall. I do wish there'd been just a bit more at the end.
Part of the appeal of reading a story is living vicariously through the characters and that’s what happens in Personal Tutor. We can sympathize with Daniella because she seems to have a run of bad luck. Divorce, and now the prospect of a job she knows she'll hate, but the bills are piling up. However, along comes an opportunity to be a ‘personal tutor’ to a hunky guy. This is the point in the story where I asked myself, if I was her, would I sleep with this man for the money that would pay off my debt?
The author did a great job making me feel like I needed to answer that very question. I think that’s because Daniella is portrayed as someone quite realistic. She could actually be one of your best friends who’s going through a rough patch which I felt was the most enjoyable part of this story. There’s that push pull thing that makes this sort of story fun, too. And when she does make the decision, I felt like I was actually thrown into her next dilemma; two hunky guys waiting for attention.

While I thought this was extremely hot, and I did, I am only giving it three stars instead of 4 because I thought that the story was too short for all that the author was trying to accomplish. That made the story too rushed. I think it would have been better to have the book just be complete book porn (which I have no problem with) and have no story or make the story a bit longer. It was an interesting premise but I think it just fell short.
That being said, I'm going to give this author another try and read another one of her books. I liked the the hot sex, non-traditional heroine, and good story premise.
Very short and a not-bad-at-all first-time erotica novella about a desperately in debt, divorced older woman who answers a personals-ad for an mature woman sought to teach a twenty-something virgin some (bedroom) moves. Well, one brother becomes two, twins no less, and her two-week gig becomes double the fun, until deeper feelings develop with just one of the gorgeous brothers.
This is my first published contemporary novelette. It is categorized as a ménage, however the main romance is focused between Daniella and Trace. Trace's twin brother does join in on the...ahem...fun, however he is not Daniella's love interest.
Sexy, just-divorced MILF needs money badly and answers an ad for 'companionship' for 2 weeks. The companions are a pair of ultra-rich identical twins. 20 years younger. Can she last through 2 weeks of nonstop sex?
Daniella is an older woman, newly divorced and trying to find herself in the world again. She's in over her head with debt because her ex took all the money and left her with nothing after twenty-five years of marriage. She stumbles on an ad and calls the number. She agrees to meet the younger man and considers his deal of companionship for a few weeks in exchange for a lot of money. She doesn't want to do it but she knows if she doesn't she'll lose the house and she'll never get her bills paid.
What Trace proposes is crazy and she feels like he's not telling her the entire truth but she does it, for the money. And if she really think about it she knows it's for lust too. Something about him just turns her on and she knows he wants her too. But can they get past the truth when it comes out?
For a novella this was well done. The sex was hot and the storyline was well done. I'll definitely look into more Emma Paul stories.
**I won a free copy of this book but this review is mine.
This short story has a clever twist, and plenty of hot action. It is perfect for a quick coffee break read, but possibly not in a public place - although I guess that depends on your kink!
