INFESTATION is a hair-raising, skin-itching Qwickie® novella inspired by true events and laced with a heavy dose of horror and a dash of tongue-in-cheek Tardif humor…
Every house has its secrets, some more perverse and horrific than others…
Suspense author Cathy Tremblay and her cable-installer husband, Mike, have just moved into a new home in West Kelowna, BC., where they get to experience nature at its finest. Between deer traipsing across the front yard and a “quailing daycare” in the back, they’re living la vida buena. Until everything changes.
First come the spiders. Then the rats. What comes next hurls Cathy and Mike into skin-itching chaos. They’ve seen all kinds of house pests before, but they’re not prepared for an infestation like this.

I am an avid reader and an international bestselling suspense author. My novels are often cross-genre works that fall into the categories of suspense, mystery or thriller.
My books have been compared to works by Stephen King, Jodi Picoult, Sue Monk Kidd, J.D. Robb, Kay Hooper, James Patterson, Dan Brown, and Michael Crichton.
I am always asked that one question: "Cheryl, what do you do?"
My reply: "I kill people off for a living." ;) CKT
This book will stay with you for a long time. It preys on your fears and phobias while at the same time surprising you with quirky changes of direction. I really enjoyed it, even though I know nightmares will be coming. I feel itchy and crawly as though the storyline reached right out to embrace me. Yet, there is humor as well. The terror builds as the "infestation" escalates. But what I thought was a great touch was the reasoning behind the horror. This book is a quick read and hard to put down so easy to read in one go. This is nightmare brought to life, phobias awakened, the kind of story you love to fear, the kind of writing that Cheryl Kaye Tardif does so well. Definitely pick up this book/ebook if you want a vibrant, living, terrifying story. An Imajin Qwikie book.
The story flowed well but climax happened too suddenly compared to the build up. It left me with the feeling of the author not really knowing how she wanted this to end and just decided 'now is a good time' with no regards to the overall suspense.
Infestation is a book about just what it sounds like and just what the cover looks like. Beware! If you’re not a fan of creepy, crawly things or things that come out in the dark, this book might not be for you; or maybe it is! I can read about serial killers anytime of the day or night and not have a problem sleeping, but mice are my personal phobia so, of course, this book had me shivering, itching, and wanting to set a few mice traps. Basically, it completely creeped me out, yikes!
Although a very quick read, I loved it. I’m a fan of Tardif’s writing anyway and a horror lover, so this was a double thrill to read. The writing was wonderful, the story slowly creeping up on me so that I felt like I also had an infestation problem. At times I even found myself shouting to the characters to stop what they were doing!
If you’re looking for a book you can finish in a couple hours, one that will chill you to your core, this is a book you need to add to your reading list. Yet another great book by Cheryl Kaye Tardif.
BRILLIANT Short story.....The title had me interested and im a HUGE CHERYL Fan .... im not a spider fan is an understatement you only have to ask any of my family very book I've read of hers I've NEVER FORGOTTEN some how her gift of writing is amazing very clever and the biggest compliment is YOU NEVER FOR GET HER BOOKS.....This is no different I loved the characters they really are cheryl and he family and close friends, this book inspired her with things that happened in her new how if this is how she felt building her dream how wouldn't be a dream for the future I'd have taking the hint and started straight away......BRILLIANT read as much as I wanted to turn the page I didn't want to either lol........
Granted horror isn't my genre of choice, this book had me scratching and peering under the covers. I won't give anything away, talk about a home-owner's nightmare!, but I will say it was craftily done, great building plot and a surprise ending. I highly recommend you not read this before bed.
