Having never read anything by Julie Shelton, I had no idea what to expect. A friend and fellow blogger said that her books were hot, hot, hot and suggested that I read it, and I am so glad that I took her advice. I am a reader of all genres of romance. Having said that, BDSM is not my first choice of go to stories but I do partake of spicier reads by my favorite authors and sometimes find myself able to enjoy some spanky, spanky in the fictional world. Julie impressed me with her story telling skills and developed characters and her idea of a small town made just for those who indulge in the wilder side of their desires. The town of Passion Lake came to life for me and I found myself becoming attached to other characters in the town, whose stories have already been told. So as you can guess my reading list exploded with more D/s romance after completing Passion's Magic. When immersing yourself in a Julie Shelton love story, you step into a whole new world: three doms sharing one sub, two brother doms taming one submissive, or a younger dom and mature submissive...the sky is the limit. Jared and Molly prove that age does not matter and that even later in life, love is still possible. Who wouldn't delight in a story of a sexy cougar and her delicious boy toy that turn out to be so much more to one another than just a notch on the bedpost.

If Passion Lake existed I'd be packing my bags in a heartbeat and hightailing it to Virginia. Owned and operated by a group of ex-SEALS, the town is a haven for folks in the BDSM lifestyle. The Doms are hunky, the submissives fun and full of sass, and ménage relationships are the norm. What’s not to love about a place like that? There is also plenty of suspense flying around Passion Lake, and these Doms will kill to protect their submissives. Very hot indeed. Each new book in the series becomes my favorite, and Passion’s Magic is no exception.

That was a typical telenovela-read. Well, not that typical, I'm not sure BDSM telenovelas even exist... So, in this case I would say it was unique. Just in this case, though.
It's kind of sad that all heroines from the series have different backgrounds but they are essentially identical. The same goes for heroes. You could easily switch them and their life stories up with no one the wiser.
Also, after five books I've developed an allergy to phrases: "Oh, my God!" and "Omigod!"

Molly has been widowed for 4 years and recently moved to Passion Lake. She has a job but is also hoping to find a new Dom. Jared is finished with the rodeo life and wants to settle down somewhere. His brother lives in Passion Lake and convinces him to move there. When he meets Molly, the Dom in him sits up and takes notice but he hesitates because she is his new boss. It doesn't take long for them to start fantasizing about each other but Molly is a bit hung up on their age difference. Being older than Jared, she worries about him eventually finding a younger woman. Jared takes his time with her and when they finally get together, it's sizzling hot. Can Jared convince her he's in this relationship for the long haul or will Molly's worries tear them apart? And what happens when secrets from her first marriage are brought to light, bringing danger along with it? This is one of the few books with the older woman/young man that I fell in love with. Molly and Jared are both strong characters with Jared being the kind of Dom you wish for. A beautifully written story that I highly recommend.

Another great book in the Passion’s Lake series! In this book we meet Jared and Molly. I love age gap books, especially when the heroine is the older of the two and Shelton’s been a favorite author of mine for a while, she writes beautiful love stories with just the right amount of incredibly hot sex, so I was really excited for this one to come out. While the attraction is instant between these two Molly has a couple of issues, first of course is the age difference between them. Molly and I are about the same age so I totally identified with her self-doubts about her appearance and wondering what would a younger man see in her. Second, she’s his boss. And third, is she just a fling to Jared, she’s looking for more than just sex and doesn’t want to get her heart broken. Jared was the perfect southern cowboy. Allowing everything to unfold at Molly’s pace even though he knew she was the one for him. He was patient, loving and tried to ease all of Molly’s fears. Like all of the Passion’s Lake books this one has a happy ending and the paths these two take to get there made for a very enjoyable read. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants a love story with a side of kinkiness.

In Passion Lake kink is normal, D/s relationships are abundant and women have their needs met predominately by their alpha hunks. In this, the fifth book of the series set in Passion Lake, widow Molly Duncan and Jared Thompkins meet and decide to explore the possibilities that a D/s relationship might provide for both of them. Molly is a bit unsure of the 13 year age difference in the beginning but old soul Jared and she eventually see that age is just a number and that there is much more to a good relationship than age. Molly has been in a D/s relationship before but though Jared is a Dom he is nothing like the Dom she was once married to. Throw in some intrigue with a wicked step-daughter, steamy encounters between Jared and Molly, visits with persons found in previous books of the series and the potential for a happily ever and you have all the elements of a wonderful story – if you like reading a good romance with a D/s slant then I would highly recommend this book to you!

I loved that Molly was there for Lily in Passion's Triumph both as a friend and someone to guide her. I couldn't wait to read her story and for her to find the Dom she was looking for after the loss of her husband. Jared was simply delish and absolutely perfect for Molly. She has issue with him being so much younger, but it really doesn't apply since he is so mature for his age. I loved that there was such a connection and chemistry between them. That dream sharing was sizzling hot. Then there is the crazy as all get out step daughter that I so wanted to shake. Holy hell. I really enjoyed watching Molly and Jared find their happily ever after together. I can't wait to read more in this series. I love that this is more than just a town, but is more like a huge family.

I loved Molly Duncan she is perfectly imperfect and Jared Thompkins is a sexy rodeo star with an old soul. The passion and chemistry these two have together is scorching hot !!
While I did find this story to start off a bit slow for me which I believe if I would of read the prior books in this series it would of been perfect. Let me just say that it didn't last long, before I knew what hit me things starting moving at a rapid pace, got really hot and I couldn't put it down. I loved how Jared was with Molly. I do however wish we would of had a little bit more at the end.

I love this series because amongst the sexiness there is always a dangerous situation, but as I started reading this installment I thought the author had tried something different, then…bam!
Molly’s and Jared’s story pulled me in and didn’t let go. The descriptive words were wonderful throughout.

A beautiful wonderful book
All of Us Shelton 's Dom s of Passion Lake books are a joy to read. This one is a great addition. I was a little skeptical about it before starting it, but loved it almost immediately. Great characters, good plot, and a great ending.

This is the 5th book in The Doms of Passion Lake. I have never read this series but after reading Passion's Magic I am definitely starting at the beginning. Most BDSM books are dark and sometimes disturbing but Julie Shelton has written a loving, caring, sensually explosive Dom/sub story.
If there was ever a perfect Dom it has to be Jared Thompkins. That man was masterful at reading Molly's body. Once he was able to have her trust, everything he did heightened her pleasure. And that is not only in the bedroom but out as well. Jared took the time, energy and creativity to show Molly just how special she was to him.
Because Jared overwhelmed Molly outside of the bedroom and took her out of her comfort zone sexually, she was able to see past the 13 year age difference and have a more open relationship than with her dead husband. I loved how cherished Jared made her feel.
But I love how Jared pushed her sexually even more! Everytime they created a scene that pushed her boundaries but in a way that showed her trust in him. And they were smoking hot scenes! You know it is hitting the right reaction when you feel a trembling in your hand as you hold your reader.
If you are wanting to read a hot, sexy, intoxicating BDSM story without all the dark and despair plots but actually uplifts you as you read then this is the perfect book!

I've read all of the books in the Doms of Passion Lake series and I loved each and every one of them, so I was very excited to read the latest book in the series. I had high expectations for this book and Julie Shelton didn't let me down - Passion's Magic is a fabulous book that truly did feel magical. This is an age gap BDSM romance with a forty one year old heroine and a twenty eight year old hero. I've read quite a few age gap romances recently, and Passion's Magic is the best of the bunch for me. The relationship didn't feel forced, it truly felt believable as Jared was older than his years (or as his brother put it, he had an 'old soul'). You could feel the love between them and it really felt like they belonged together.
Molly moved to Passion Lake for a fresh start after the death of her husband, who was also her Dom. She buys a run down old farmhouse and starts a business stabling horses. Jared is a rodeo star who had to retire early due to injury and he's now come to join his brother Mitch in Passion Lake. He applies for a job managing Molly's stables and the connection between them is instant. Molly fights her attraction to Jared as she thinks she is too old for him and is wary of getting her heart broken. Can Jared convince her that he's the perfect man and Dom for her and that age doesn't matter?
Jared was a great character, he was so gentle and patient with Molly but he was also deliciously dominant and knew how to give Molly what she needed both in and out of the bedroom. The chemistry between them is so hot that your kindle may burst into flames - seriously these two are HOT together. This a fantastic book, I really enjoyed Jared and Molly's story - I just hope we don't have to wait too long for the next book in the series! Five stars.

Jared was a great character, he was so gentle and patient with Molly but he was also deliciously dominant and knew how to give Molly what she needed both in and out of the bedroom. The chemistry between them is so hot that your kindle may burst into flames - seriously these two are HOT together. This a fantastic book, I really enjoyed Jared and Molly's story - I just hope we don't have to wait too long for the next book in the series! Five stars.

Passion's Magic is Book 5 in the Doms of Passion Lake series. Although it is Book 5, it is also a stand alone and you do not have to read the 4 prior books to follow Molly and Jared's story.
Molly is a widow who moved to Passion Lake for a new life. She is in the Dom/Sub lifestyle and hasn't been with anyone since her husband died 4 years prior. She purchased a house/horse farm where she is boarding horses. In need of a stable manager, she puts the word out for help and gets a response in the form of Applicant, Jared Thompkins. Jared is a retired Rodeo champion and knows his way around horses, and is looking to recuperate from several injuries he received from his last two rodeos. He came to Passion Lake at the recommendation of his brother, Mitch.
Molly and Jared have an immediate attraction. However, Molly is hesitant to begin a new relationship with the young Dom. She doesn't want it to interfere with their working relationship. Jared wants Molly and will wait for her to come around to his way of thinking. He just hopes that it won't take her too long. When they both begin having the same explicit dreams, Molly realizes that there is more going on than simple attraction.
Molly and Jared are great characters that compliment each other. The story line is great and gets your motor running. The book had just enough back story and character description for the supporting characters that I could identify with each of them without having read the previous books in the series. Ooooohhhh and the scenes between Molly and Jared. Sizzling, sexy, and hot. *fans self* Yowza!
I will be going back to start the series from the beginning to see how this all started.

Whew...Still fanning myself over this one.
This is my first by Julie Shelton and I know now, when I wanna grab a super sexy bdsmy story, just who to turn to.
This was smokinly sexy, that I can guarantee you...and if you're not into bdsm stories, no fear...it's mostly just kinda alpha. This is book 5 in a series, but I've not read any of the previous books and I wasn't lost..you're just meeting all the players for the first time.
Molly Duncan drew me in from the beginning...maybe because I too am a 40's woman and I'd love to find that dominance, so that alone was reason enough for me to read this one. I don't shy away from "womanly" stories..LOL
Jared, oh dear...I can completely understand that. He's a former rodeo star and looking for a "job" not that he needs one, to keep him busy...he's also looking for that which has eluded him these last years...a submissive to call his own. He heads to Passion Lake. He's going to be a stable manager for Live Oak Farm (and miss Molly Duncan)
There are immediate sparks between the two, but Molly has a HUGE issue. She is 41 and Jared is only 28..Yikes. Cougar she is not..or so she tells herself.
The writing is great. The characters are well thought out. This story is seriously smoking...While I found a few editorial errors, I also was reading an arc, so they could have easily been rectified by the time the final book was released...and they weren't that big a deal anyways. I loved the addition of a little suspense with the emergence of Sabrina and how things were going to be rectified with Molly's first husband and dom.
Very entertaining, sexy and a great overall read.

This was an interesting book for me to read — simply because it was really different to read a book where the heroine is older than the hero. But I have to say that Shelton did a great job at that aspect of the book.
Molly was a typical 41 year old woman who was doing what she was doing and was happy with everything. But knew she was missing something and while she was afraid, she was also willing to fight for what she wanted.
Jared was a great character as well. I loved how he was younger than Molly yet he strove to prove to her that age didn’t matter to him. That he wanted to be with her because of her, not because of her age. The sex scenes are done with the usual Shelton ways — both smutty and also well done. The story has a fair share of smut, but it doesn’t overtake the whole book like some BDSM books do.
It was also fun to catch up with the other residents of Passion Lake throughout the book, but it did seem at times that they took over the book.
This series is one of the few BDSM series that I enjoy and I can’t wait to read more from Shelton in the future.

well well this was a roller coaster ride of a novel if I have ever read one.
Full of mystery, suprize, erotic sex, gorgeous cowboys, sex clubs, money, danger and a unexpected small town full of doms, subs and people who dont want to be discriminated for their likes and dislikes in the bedroom.
I absolutely loved this book. I want to read all the Passions Lake books.
If this one was any indication of how wonderful this writing is I cannot wait.
Oh my Jarod, what a yummy lil dominating cowboy. mmm mmmm mmm.
Tattoos, skin tight jeans, a lil beard and full of loving and dominance. What else can a girl ask for in a hunk of her dreams?
Molly what a stubborn difficult woman to be a sub. She really reminds me of my self.
Willful and doesn't always behave like she is supposed to. She is very kid like even though she is much older than Jarod.
I loved her dynamic of struggling with being with a younger dom and what others would think of her for it.
All and all i just couldn't put this book down.

Wonderful.
I simply love this series of books. I accidentally found Julie Shelton's Sarah series, and now with the Passion Lake series i am simply in love. Who doesn't love a sexy alpha male who's who life is about loving and cherishing his woman!
Look forward to many more in the series. Perhaps even a few more involving Sarah and her men.

This is my first book by this author. The older heroine and younger hero story line was great. I was pleasantly surprised with the story. This book is the 5th in the series but is a stand alone. I may now have to got back a read the others.

Wow. What a great story between Jared and Molly. Julie Shelton has done an excellent job in writing about Passion Lake. If this was a real place I would go there. This is a hot and exciting story. Enjoy.
