Welcome to Neverland: Part 1

Rate this book
Wednesday-
Neverland University was never where I imagined I would end up, but life changed for me after my brother died. Everything I wanted didn’t seem to matter anymore and, all I knew was I wanted to leave Jonte’s legacy and this is where he planned to do that. Everything started out great; my roommate became my best friend, I was in a top sorority and my boyfriend was quarterback. Secrets, lies and betrayal made me end up feeling like everything I had set out wanting, no longer mattered.

Pace was what I wanted; Camden is who I ended up with. My head told me one thing and my heart another.

****

Pace-
I came to Neverland to have fun and to prove a point to myself. Everything was on track until I met her, she changed the way I saw the world; her innocence is pure, she has a heart of gold, so what’s the problem? Love, that’s the whole problem. I couldn’t give her what she wanted. I didn’t want to hurt her. In the end, I've done just that without even trying. I wasn’t worth the heartache. Camden always had everything I wanted, and this time I just gave it to him.

Love was never something I wanted; now she is everything I need, but is it too late. Was everything that happened too much for her to forgive?

*****This is not a fantasy read, I would class it as college romance******

“Twisted Love Triangle” is the Best way to sum up this story.

Dee has found herself at a University that wasn’t her 1st choice but rather her deceased older brother’s. After losing him in a very unforeseen freak accident, she tries to honor his memory by attending the college he planned on attending. During a campus tour Dee inadvertently runs into the very HOT male specimen that is Pace. They develop a “long distance” friendship via phone. Pace is the epitome of the “It man on campus” and when Dee shows up on move in day, he takes her under his wing, introduces her to his friends and they are almost inseparable from that point on.

Dee has always been a “nerdy bookworm” and Neverland University is known for two things, Football & Partying. As beautiful as she is, she is very shy and socially awkward. Her roommate, Lilly is far from shy she is the life of the party. Lilly starts to bring Dee out of her shell, right down to convincing her to rush sororities. They end up being accepted into different ones, but their friendship continues to grow.

On the outside, Pace is the popular fun-loving guy who all the girls are throwing themselves at and all the guys want to be. On the inside, he’s been hurt by the people who should love you the most in the world. In an effort to try to numb himself of his pain, he drinks, he partakes in the willing women, drinks some more, and then forgets about the woman in the morning after.

The last person in this love triangle is Camden. He is the Starting Quarterback, he has dimples that make Dee’s panties wet and he is uncharacteristically kind and thoughtful. As much as Dee tries to label him a “typical jock” and distance herself from him, she falls for his charismatic charms.

The title “Welcome to Neverland” instantly brings to mind the setting of a Fairytale. There are some references to Disney & all of its wonderful stories, Pace is known to sing their songs when he’s drunk. When Dee calls him out on it his response is . “They all have bumps along the way but in the end, there’s always a happy ending.” . But did you miss where I mentioned, College, Football Players and Sororities, and a twisted love triangle? This book will remind you just how cruel these can be. Will Dee get her Fairytale HEA or will she be another girl who ventured out of her comfort zone and got eaten up and spat out?

First time reader! This YA novel is set in Neverland University, focusing on the Jocks, fraternities and sororities! After the death of her brother she wants to make him proud of her and follow his dreams! During orientation Wednesday meets Pace, who drags her with him while he pranks another frat house! They make a solid friendship which continues when she moves into the dorm. She starts falling for him, but he pushes her away where she finds the comfort in the arms of the quarterback Camden. Warning ends in a cliffhanger but Part 2 has been released.

This was really different. Dee likes Pace. Pace likes no one. Camden likes Dee. Oh wait, apparently Dee likes everyone and no one likes her.

This is a pretty twisted love triangle and you'll just have to read it to figure out what is going on.

There are quite a number of spelling errors, like "Weather instead of whether" and things liked that. It bugged me enough to notice and remember and I'm typically not a grammar/spelling Nazi.

Reviewed on behalf of LLiB - 3.5/4* rating

The story of Wednesday (Dee) starting her first semester at Neverland University and preparing for the life her brother would have wanted for her. Despite her bookworm ways and social awkwardness she felt she needed to push herself. To do what others wanted.

Between the alcohol, football, the frat parties and of course...the boys!

Excerpt:
..the famous Pace Jamison - Pan, the top dog on Campus, a trail of girls left behind him and a bunch of guys who want to be him.

Pace and his arch enemy Camden would be the two to turn Dee's head and heart.

It was a really easy read that I finished in one sitting but there were definitely parts that felt a little rushed and fragmented for me. But all in all, a good coming of age story that I look forward to seeing more of as the series develops.

I really like reading love triangles. This book didn't disappoint. It was a really good story. I was a bit disappointed in Dee though. She put up with way too much from Pace and Camden. They really humiliated her all for their ridiculous rivalry, and I wish she would have gotten some kind of revenge instead of just talking it out with them and forgiving them. I mean, sure, that was probably the more mature way to handle it, but she's in college!! I thought there was something going on with Camden almost from the very beginning. I never really trusted him. But Pace....how can you not love him? Even if he was a jerk, he was a fun and lovable jerk. I was so happy when I got to part 2 of the story and Wolf showed up. I thought "awesome, a new person for Dee to fall for that I can love and not be disappointed in", but....no. I'm still a bit torn on the ending. On one hand, I'm happy that Dee ended up with who she did because I eventually believed his feelings were genuine, but on the other hand I'm still not sure I wanted them together.

Welcome to Neverland part 1&2 by Jaye Cox is a coming of age story.
Wednesday has lived a fairly sheltered life until she gets to college. Once there she finds herself caught up in web of lies and a game she wants nothing to do with. Unsure who to trust Wednesday knows she has some thought decisions ahead of her - especially if she wants to make t through college with her heart in tact and the person she loves by her side.

A good story line but lacking in the writing style this book disappointed me. I think too much tried to be covered and if the author had stuck to one main event then it would have strengthened the story. Although not a a book I enjoyed I would definitely look to give this author another chance to see how their writing style develops.

I loved this book! I couldn't put it down!

Dee is a freshman and want to follow the path Johnte planned before he died. This includes going to Neverland University. Dee goes from a book need to the girl the 2 most popular guys on campus are chasing after.

Pace is the president of a frat and always looking for fun. Including frat pranks. I loved the prologue, it showed how much Pace loved frat pranks. Pace wants Dee around, but he keeps sending her mixed messages.

Dee, Pace and Camden are definitely a messed up triangle. The twist at the end surprised me, finding it was Pace ( don't want to spoil it so this is as much as I will say). I loved this book so much I jumped right in to book 2 because I couldn't wait to see whether Dee stayed

Neverland for me has always been associated with Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, the lost boys and never growing up. This book has blown that idea from my head. Very easy book to read with a captivating blend of characters. It's jammed packed with drama, angst, deceit and lies. Growing up in this Neverland is far from easy.

I am always available to meet new authors, new books, and when I had the chance to meet the author Jaye Cox I did not hesitate.
"Welcome to Neverland" is a beautiful history that takes place mainly in the university environment and with a lot of hormones to the mixture.
Jaye Cox has a simple way to tell her story, easy to understand and follow, and that makes a very pleasant reading.
Wednesday or Dee is a freshman at Neverland University, who moved to this particular school because of her brothers. Dee is a beautiful and cheerful girl but with a lot of sadness in her heart mainly due to the death of her brother but also because of a childhood marked by the negligence of her parents. Life on campus is not easy, she will struggle with some obstacles but it’s her determination that makes all the difference.
Dee is attracted by two boys and what happens during the course of this book will leave you flabbergasted.
Pace is the popular guy, the eternal Festival Goer and football player. He wants to live life one day at a time, have fun and never fall in love, because for him love is a very bad thing. He is only interested in one-night stands. Pace has a good reason to be so, he was very hurt in the past and so does not believe in "happily ever after". When he knows Wednesday something changes, but he won’t admit it. For him, they are just good friends and nothing more.
Can we follow the dreams of others and bring the ordeal and care of those we love the most? Can a person love in secret only because they want to preserve the friendship that unites them? How far can go the vengeance of a person? Are there family ties strong enough to unite us so that we are all happy?
This is a very beautiful story, with some ups and downs, sad and happy moments. One thing I will say, nothing is what it seems, because in one moment you are reading the story and thinking that this is all very normal when you are struck by an unexpected course. Get ready.
Jaye Cox I want more! I want more books about these two because there were many unanswered questions. Do I have to wait long? I really hope not.

Neverland.
Where anything is possible.
Where dreams can be realised if pushed hard enough.
Where parties, sororities, drinking, hooking up is the norm....

But not for Wednesday.
She could choose any college.
Stanford her first choice.
But it's Neverland she decides on.
She needs to do this, not for herself, but for her brother.
His legacy must live on.
Wednesday is determined.
Her brothers memory will always stay alive if she can help it.

But what Wednesday never prepared herself for was them.
Pace and Camden.
Two college guys.
Both popular, sinfully delicious, football stars.
They are about to rock Wednesdays world.
They are about to change everything for Wednesday.
She just doesn't know it yet.

Welcome to Neverland....We were able to read in a few hours. Although short ( yes it's a novella) we thoroughly enjoyed it.
It took us on a journey into college life. Young kids spreading their wins, the parties and booze, the sorority dorms, friendships formed, enemies made, secrets and the consequences of choices made. It have everything in this novella and so much more.
But the ending....All we can say is.....We need more!!!

A well written novella with depth and full of emotion it shouldn't be missed....Ohh and the twist....Yep you'll never see it coming!!

For us a definite 5 star read.

This is my fourth read by Jaye Cox and I am never disappointed. Welcome to Neverland is a short book, it was a quick read and before I knew it, it was ending. However although it was a short read it didn't loose anything from the story because of that. The story line was great and it flowed beautifully.

The characters were great, I loved how sweet and innocent Dee was and how Pace tried to act like love didn’t matter. It drove me crazy how Camden, thought he was being sweet, but instead he was just being a total a*s.

Dee went to Neverland University to live her brother Johnte’s legacy. After Johnte died in an accident, nothing mattered. She lived the collage life, being in a sorority and dating the quarterback. The only thing she could think about was Pace and her feelings for him and wanting him to have the same feelings. But she ends up with Camden the quarterback. Until she finds out a secret that Pace and Camden are keeping from her. Can she forgive them or is it too late?

Welcome to Neverland is the first book to the series. I can’t wait to read the second book. I would definitely recommend this book!

Welcome to Neverland is my first read by Jaye Cox and I really enjoyed it. It's only a short book so it is pretty fast paced but that doesn't take anything away from the storyline, it also had good strong character development.

Wednesday (Dee) is off on her first college experience, she's what some would call a bit of a book geek and also pretty nieve especially when it comes to boys but she made a promise to her brother that she would get out there and have some fun.
Pace is a little older than Dee he's already living the college life but they form a tight bond immediately.
Wednesday quickly falls for Pace, but he really doesn't believe in love so she has no choice but to move on with her life. Will Pace come to his senses before its too late and he loses her forever.

If your looking for a quick read that will pull you in then this definitely one to read. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series.

Neverland - where promises are made and broken

Once again I must congratulate Jaye Cox on writing the beginning of yet another exceptional story. Yes that's right it's just the beginning.
Jaye takes us to Neverland College - even though it was meant to be Standford. Wednesday has chosen to attend the College her brother chose, to carry on his dreams.
There she meets Pace and Camden, two boys, who both vie for her attention. But both of them are hiding a secret from her that could destroy her happiness. One genuinely loves her, but is unable to tell her. The other is using her, to get back at the other.
I was hooked from beginning to end - I just wanted it to continue.
I can't wait for the next chapter in this story.
Brilliant Jaye - keep it coming.

It seemed things were looking up for Wednesday when she gets into her brothers University, but to top it off the geeky bookworm has gained attention from some pretty popular people.

I really enjoyed getting to know Wednesday's character, but I also thought it was great how this author didn't give away all the cards at the beginning, you were caught, hooked from the beginning to keep turning the pages, hungry to find out more. Oh and when you get there your left aghast at what you learn.

Throw in some great supporting characters, a few college parties, a hell of a lot of college drama and you have the makings of a great read. All is left to say is book 2 better have the revenge I was so hoping was going to happen in this book. Well done!

Dee chose to attend Neverland University in memory of her brother. Little did she know how that one decision would change her life. Dee was enjoying her freedom at college with all the parties, friends and football games but her focus was on Pace and Camden. Two football stars that each wanted Dee but held a secret Dee was not prepared for. I don’t think I was prepared for it either. This was a short read but a great introduction into what will hopefully lead to more. I liked everything about this story and the different connections that Dee has with Pace and Camden and their personalities. The denial that Pace was in with his feelings for Dee. Overall I liked everything about this book and look forward to reading more.

This book, while short, was packed full of so many feelings! I really enjoyed every page and I couldn't put it down.

The characters were amazing, we have a great group that each have their own personalities. I love seeing a wide array when reading, it means I can connect with at least one character.

I was able to connect with Dee the most, not only because of her past, but because of how she is in the present. The twists and turn will keep you hooked till the end!

I think people will really enjoy reading this short read. It was worth the time I spent. This is the first book that I've read by this author and it won't be the last! 4Stars

Will Pan and Darling ever find their happily ever after? This book truly has everything you're looking for in a fast read. Once you pick it up you won't be able to put it down. I read the book in one sitting. Sometimes we don't know why someone keeps us at arms length and we don't every stop to wonder why, we tend to get hurt and lash out. This book has so many curve balls that you truly are shocked and surprised. The author did a beautiful job of painting such captivating characters. One minute your rooting for one character and the next you're yelling at the same chacter. This book captures so many truths about life. I can't wait to read the next book.

This was such a different story than what I thought it would be. Pace is a popular guy and Wednesday is going to college to go where her brother wanted to go to college.

Both of them have things in their life that skew their thoughts. Both have to deal with their families.

I can honestly say the book made me think one thing about some of the characters and sure enough proved me wrong. This is about friendships, love, and heartaches (not just romantic). Now ready to read the next one when it comes out.

This is another amazing book from Jaye Cox.
From the title itself you might think that this is a fantasy kind of story but it isn't. This is about a girl who fulfill her brother's dream to study in Neverland. Along the way she met Camden and Pace. The other became her best friend while the other became her boyfriend. Both have secrets to tell but at the same time will hurt Wednesday. This story will teach you about love, honesty, friendship and trust.
I love each and every book that Jaye writes. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

I enjoyed this novella!!

Wednesday aka Dee goes to college and finds herself stuck between two popular guys in rival fraternities. Pace is actually a friend of hers that she met during her college tour of Neverland and Camden is someone she mets her Freshman year.

I realized Pace was Peter and She was Wendy. But, it took me a minute to realize Camden was Capt Hook. LOL!

I enjoy novels that are written as a modern retelling of fairytales. Definitely love Jaye Cox's way of writing. You won't be disappointed with this one!
