When not writing, she’s on the back porch tending to the demanding wildlife around the pond in the backyard. The ducks are very outspoken. She’s married to her high school sweetheart, and they have two grown children.

Sugar and spice and everything nice. Ohhh, and instalove, orgasms followed by more sugar. It’s so sappy sweet that I wish I would have read this for a Valentines treat!
It’s a second-hand twist apparently, but I’m not familiar with the original. Although it was perhaps excessively sweet, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down.
Shhh, don’t tell my boss, but I actually hid in the storage room to finish the last chapter when my lunch hour left me hanging on the eager thread of almost finished. That’s got to say something, right?

Garrett is the pinnacle of a high roller. He oozes power, wealth and sex. And, he always gets what he wants. Yet, he has gotten bored with always getting what he wants. One fated evening Randy wanders past him and his luck flips a one-eighty. Garrett is horrified to realize that it wasn’t only his luck that changed, but life as he knows it.

Randy is a simple man with simple expectations living a simple life. He is out of town on business in the city of Sins when his uncomplicated life becomes very complicated. He is swept off his feet by a devil that lives in a world where money can buy anything. When he tells this perfect man that his heart is not for sale he rattles them both. Garrett is flabbergasted that he dare refuse him anything and Randy is stunned that he was in fact considering giving him his heart.

They both attempt to stop the landslide of love, but sometimes you have to just brace yourself and take the fall.

I enjoyed the writing, I liked the guys and I loved the older brothers! The woo-ing was so romantic I couldn’t stop smiling. A fun, sappy bit of fluff that left me with a happy heart. Even though I enjoyed this swift love affair, I’m not overly compelled to race out and move on in the series, but I may give it a go at a later date. I mean, more Cupid…who doesn’t love Cupid? And if you don’t, I dare you to admit it!

This feels like the plot of old Harlequin stories I read years ago.

Let's see if the plot is familiar:
A very rich and gorgeous sophisticated man, who is known as "asshole" or "bastard" for being cold and calculated. A mousy and honest younger woman man, who refuses to take his money, who is different that any other dates this rich man knows. They have lovely dates and fabulous nights, and well, they fall in love (within three days). But the woman man is scared about her his feeling to this man, so she he runs away, back home. It's up to the gorgeous man to get the love of his life back.

.... in the Harlequin book, it will probably be expanded with the woman is pregnant, and they meet a couple years later when the gorgeous rich man realizes that the woman has his kid.

*sigh*

I'm sure there are other readers who love this more than I. But personally, I just feel bored with it.

This was short cute prelude to the series. The characters were mostly likable. Told from multiple POV there was plenty of steam and a bit of angst. This was a bit too insta love for me to really enjoy it. But I liked the twist in the end. I am very curious to read the next full length novel about Cupid.

Ami's review is spot on.
If you want one rich, arrogant but deep down mushy teddy bear alpha and his sweet, waterfall prone, uninterested in money or gifts, innocent love interest this is the one for you!
It's a light read and "Randy" could easily be replaces by "Rachel" and you would have the exact same story!

How can a simple young man and a cynical billionaire find anything to build a lasting relationship on? M.A. Church addresses that question in Priceless, a modern gay romance between Randy Jones and Garrett Shiffler.

Randy meets billionaire, Garrett during a vacation trip to Las Vegas. The attraction between the two is immediate and sizzling hot. Garrett and Randy spend a hot weekend under the sheets in an interlude that's only supposed to be sex, hot sex and nothing else.

Despite the brevity of their days together, Church spends time revealing each man's character to the other. I liked that Randy and Garrett spent time talking to each other. I also liked that Garrett's wealth didn't intimidate Randy, but he held his own in the face of some wild enticements.

Church paints some interesting scenes between Randy and Garrett, as well as between them and their family members and friends. The angst that these characters feel when they blunder is genuine, as is the joy in happier moments. Once Garrett determines that his heart is set on Randy, Church uses some creative moves to resolve the plot. Some elements are confusing, such as the introduction of Cupid. The addition of Cupid and his arrows does not add a great deal to the story. It might be an interesting aside, but Priceless is a fine story without it. Is Garrett going to earn the trust and love of Randy? That's the real tale of Priceless-- a romance worth reading to find out.

I remember reading this on Literotica a million years ago so I was very excited to read it again as a novel. I was not disappointed! It was all fluff and sex and romance and fun! I see a sequel has been written with two new characters, so I'm all psyched up again. I actually read this book the day it came out last summer and I plan to re-read it before the sequel, Perfect, comes out.

Highly recommended as a fluff piece!

There’s an expression that goes what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. But Randy is only there to do a job, so that doesn’t really apply to him. He has no intentions on meeting anyone or doing anything he’ll live to regret. Of course, a little gambling doesn’t hurt, right? It is Las Vegas. So he goes to the casino of the hotel he’s staying at. While standing near the craps table, he spots a gorgeous stranger on the other side, and when their eyes meet, sparks fly…

Randy can’t believe it when the stranger beckons to him to join him. Who me? Yeah him. So he joins the good-looking man, and stands by his side as he proceeds to play, winning a lot of money in the process. Randy’s grumbling stomach betrays other needs so the man suggests they get some food. Together, of course. But then he makes his first mistake, offering Randy an orange chip, one worth $1000. Randy doesn’t want it, especially from someone he doesn’t even know but doesn’t know how to say so, especially after Garrett introduces himself and pours on the charm—what’s a guy to do?

Garrett proceeds to show Randy a hell of a time over the next couple of very intense days they spend together, neither one aware that they are being observed by the god of Love himself. The two men are very attracted to one another. Could this be love? Neither one’s willing to admit it, but the thought’s sure there. But there are also issues between them. Randy doesn’t like the way Garrett throws his money around, like it should make a difference. Maybe it’s what Garrett’s used to, but not him. Instead of being the great equalizer, could this end up being the great separator, the dividing factor?

Can they break down the barriers between them and get down to what really matters—love? First, they have to learn to communicate properly.

Priceless is the first book in M.A. Church’s The Gods series. Why the gods, you ask? It’s about men, not gods. Well, you see, there’s this cute little fellow known as Cupid that’s involved, but you’ll see more of him later. Just know he’s there, and he’s got a finger in everything that happens. Or so he’d like to believe. And he’s a very important player in the scheme of things.

Priceless is a romantic tale of strangers who meet and fall in love with just one glance. Instant chemistry. But is it love or lust? That’s the crux of the matter. Being attracted to someone by just one look is common, but so is finding out it was just a physical thing. Everyone puts their best foot forward in making first impressions. It’s the aftermath that counts.

Church gives us the glamor and glitz of Vegas, but then it all boils down to the two men and who they really are, and what each wants from the other. Her book is sweet, romantic, heated ,and sensual, and a great read. I liked both men: the earthy, shy and sweet Randy, as well as the controlling yet not as secure as he’d like you to believe Garrett. I’m a sucker for HEA’s.

As I said, this is the first in the series, with Perfect coming out soon. The books don’t need to be read in order. But it also puts things more in perspective if you do. I’ve actually already read Perfect, just not written the review. Yet. I’m really looking forward to the third book in the series, Pure.

Garrett is a cynical rich man who is used to men throwing themselves at him. When his eyes meet those of Randy across the craps table, he sees something in them that intrigue him and decides he wants to meet him. Randy is shocked when the hunky, gorgeous, obviously wealthy man across from him indicates he wants to meet him. But, decides to take a chance. Both men fall in love, but Randy knows that Garrett is way out of his league and flees. Thankfully, Garrett knows that a man like Randy only comes along once in a lifetime.

This is a very sweet romantic, love at first sight story. Randy is just your normal everyday man; wealth doesn’t impress him and you can’t buy his love. When he meets Garrett he is impressed with the man and not the trappings, but as his time to leave comes he realizes that he has fallen in love and panics. Garrett is wary of men, although he wants to believe that Randy is different, he can’t help but doubt him at times. But the truth smacks him in the face and he accepts that Randy is the man for him. But, Randy flees and Garrett has to make Randy realizes that he truly wants him, but without flaunting his wealth.

*Sigh* both Garrett and Randy are great characters and theirs is a true love story that has Cupid hoping to help them on their way. Garrett is the arrogant, jaded, rich man and Randy, your down to Earth, every day guy, but they click in such a way that money and social standing doesn’t matter. They have passionate sex and they have sweet love-making. They are wonderful together, but Randy makes Garrett work for his belief in him by a courtship of sweet, thoughtful gifts.

A very sweet romance that has a bit of a Harlequin/Mills & Boon feel to it. I will recommend this to those who want a true love story romance, with Cupid in the background and a man proving his complete love without throwing his money about and a happy ending.

It's a sappy romance
A very sappy love story
Very very veeeeeeeeery sappy love story.
I was in the mood for romance, so I like it. I wish there were less sex scenes and more about the characters knowing each other... But it's my personal taste... Lately I'm not in the mood for many and long sex scenes in books.

So Cupid attempts to hook these two up but his arrows don't hit their mark, but they didn't need to. Once Randy & Garrett laid eyes on each other, there was no denying the sparks. I loved that Randy wasn't intimidated by Garrett's wealth. Garrett can't believe that anyone would want him for him & not for his wealth. After a hot weekend together, Randy runs and Garrett has to show him that Randy is the one for him. He does it in cute sweet ways, I loved the secret admirer ways, making Randy know that Garrett really wanted him.

Maybe this just wasn't for me.

I didn't feel like I got to know either character very well. I didn't understand why they were so attached to each other.

And the over-the-top "romantic gesture" just seemed silly to me.

Voto: 3,5 stelline.

Priceless by MA Church is a fun and sexy read. I liked the easy style of writing this author has, as well as her ability to bring this reader into the interesting lives of her characters. I enjoyed the light and sweet romance between the two heroes and it was a great read for my hot summer’s day.

Since the blurb does an excellent job at describing the story, I won’t rehash it. I will say that I really enjoyed the intense chemistry that sizzled between the two heroes as well as watching them quickly fall in love together. We’ve all heard the saying ‘What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’ but clearly this statement doesn’t always apply to real life. When Garret and Randy first meet neither man thought there would be more between them than just a couple of days of flirtatious fun, but as they continue to get to know each other, strong feelings for each other soon comes into play and what once was thought of a quick affair turns into something so deep that neither man can ignore.

Although at first I thought these two men were total opposites from each other, as their relationship continues to develop and they start to really fit together. Garrett is used to getting what he wants… when he wants it. He’s rich and handsome and doesn’t take no for an answer. Because of this, he’s often used for his money, so he’s totally thrown for a loop when he meets Randy. Randy lives a simple life and has only come to Vegas for a little fun. When Garrett sweeps him off of his feet, he’s still determined to see the man Garrett truly is instead of the money that most people see.

I liked how they really seemed to talk and get to know each other. Even though they communicate, both men have fears and still could use a little help when it comes to talking about feelings and so forth. Neither man is perfect, but they really fit well together, and I enjoyed watching them work together to be in each other’s lives.

There is also a fun twist to the story that I loved. We get to meet Cupid, who with his sweet smile and impish behavior plays a role in getting these two together…but did he? You’ll have to read it and find out for yourself. *grin* I’m looking forward to reading more books with this theme to it. Heck, I even hope for Cupid to have his own story as well…

I do think I need to point out that if you are NOT a fan of ‘insta-love’ than this book is probably not for you. Personally, I DO believe in love at first sight, so it’s easier for me to go with the flow. I was definitely in the mood for a sweet, uncomplicated and sexy romance (with a twist) so, Priceless really fit the bill for me. I’m looking forward to reading more books by this author and keeping my fingers crossed that the sexy man with the golden arrows gets his own story as well.

Priceless was a quick and enjoyable read. Because this is a novella and it’s set in Vegas, I gave the speed with which Randy and Garrett’s relationship developed far more leeway than I would have in a full-length novel. That their attraction was boosted by Cupid’s influence made the insta-love situation even more acceptable – he is the god of love after all. That said, watching Garrett tie himself up in knots about Randy was very entertaining. I liked that Randy wanted nothing to do with Garrett’s money, probably as much as Garrett liked it. It was a novel situation for Garrett and I enjoyed watching him get to be himself around Randy. As for Randy, it seemed to me like he was in serious need of the chance to let go and enjoy himself with Garrett. Without question, the sex between the two men was scorching and seemed to deepen the connection they felt. And with an entire weekend in Vegas, there was a LOT of connection deepening going on.

Not surprisingly, a combination of fear, self-doubt, and oversleeping led to Randy leaving Vegas without saying goodbye. As hot as the weekend of sex was, this is when the story really gets interesting because Garrett has to rally the troops – i.e., the friends who are going to give him a hard time while they help him track down Randy. Fortunately Garrett has friends in important places and he is able to find out who Randy is almost immediately and begin wooing him. The courtship was so freaking sweet, especially with it culminating on Valentine’s Day. Of course, Cupid’s revelation to Psyche at the end of the novella added an unexpected twist to the story and has me looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Perfect, because I cannot wait to find out what Ms. Church has in store for Jeff.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

The story opens with Cupid taking aim at a man in a casino in
Las Vegas. Garret Shiffler is having a bad night at the gaming table when he looks up and sees Randy Jones. The attraction is instant and he insists that Randy is his good luck charm. Randy cannot believe that someone as gorgeous as Garret would be interested in him. He feels like he is way out of his league. When Garret gives Randy a thousand dollar chip as a reward for being his good luck charm, Randy is offended. He is not impressed by Garrets wealth or arrogance. He is attracted to Garret and breaks his own rules and decides to go to dinner with him which leads to more.

They enjoy one each other’s company but time and again we see how different these two men are. Garret is used to men fawning over him because he is rich. Randy sees Garret as using his wealth to manipulate people to get what he wants. The two days they spend together, getting to know one another is a whirlwind of passion and romantic gestures. On their last night together Randy realizes that his feelings have gone from a playful fling to something more. He panics and leaves with saying good bye.

From this point we see the two men deal with their feelings and it is a very sweet romance. I thought the secret admirer gifts were romantic (The flower lore was a bonus) and I was afraid the author was going to keep having Randy guessing which would have seemed unrealistic. She did not. The storyline was not one I was unfamiliar with. Cupid and the other mythological characters played a small roller role than I anticipated from the description.
The plot was familiar but I found it comforting knowing it was a light heartwarming romance with a happy ending. I think I would have been disappointed otherwise.
