With more than 300 citations, this books is well founded on science on nutrition. Exposes the whack a mole approach of the current dietary guidelines, which keeps adding more and more ill advised recommendations just to cover up the damage caused by original recommendation of less fat and more carbs.

One of my physicians recommended this book to me, but upon reading it, I found that it wouldn't pass muster as a reference for one of my grad school courses. I was suspicious that most of his cited research references were more than 10 years old. While I tend to agree with his premise - and feel better when I eat more protein and fewer grains -- his methods didn't sit well with me. I actually didn't even finish this book.

The content was 5 stars, but I wished some ideas had been elaborated on, or clarified better, so I’m giving 4 stars. Definitely am glad to have attended a lecture Dr. Champ gave in Florida a few years back. Everything he said affirmed what I was thinking about diet, and hearing his research-backed opinions was so affirming for me. Definitely recommend checking out this book for the ideas set forth. I’m quite sure he is on to something!

It's about the food . . .

Well written and insightful, highly recommended if you are concerned about your health. IMO, the title suggests a conspiracy going on behind the scene of our healthcare system, and does not capture the depth and insight that is virtually in every chapter. I plan to read and reread!

Pretty Intriguing! Most definitely agree that we need to look to diet and lifestyle changes before taking pills! His nutrition guidelines are easy to understand with a little background medical knowledge.

A well written and cited book on using diet and lifestyle for healthy living instead of going for pills. We may have been taught at some point in our life how detriment to our health red meat, fats, the sun or salt is. It makes sense to revisit these statements.

I really like the approach to this book and all the cited research. It’s refreshing in this time of “alternative facts” and opinion passing as news, to find a book based on research. I like that it covers such a broad range of health related issues that have popularized viewpoints that aren’t necessarily based in real data or facts.
