Oh, the foolish games we play.

The moment I was gifted a test drive of the luscious Sage Blackwood, I knew she was mine. I was broken, half a man, until she pieced me back together. She changed my world forever with her magnetic humor and hot body. Sage is an expert of subterfuge. Her logic overrules her cravings. It doesn’t matter if she feels the same; I’m the master at games and puzzles. And I’ll win this game in the end. I always do.

Oh, the tangled webs we weave.

Pushing the wrong buttons is Lukas Rogers' forte. Except he presses all the right ones when he’s sending me to heaven with each and every delicious touch. But I can't give him what he wants. I will never give myself completely to another. It just doesn’t work in my world. I bury those dreams deep. My job connected us. Now this powerful bond scares me. My body desires to cling to what Lukas offers, while my mind is telling me to run away.

Far.
Fast.
Forever.

descriptionThis is a pretty good cover. Fantastic representation of the hero. Great use of graphics. Good composition. Nice title work.description

descriptionI enjoyed this one a lot. It would have been a 5-Star read for me if not for one little issue that I will address later. Like I said in my review for the previous book this author has a very engaging writing style and this book was no different. I was sucked in from page one. It was also well paced and the plot interesting. There was no OW/OM drama. Very little angst. Smokin' sex scenes. An amazing cast of secondary characters. In fact, I think the secondary characters are what made this book so fantastic. I ADORED the comradery between the guys, and I LOVED Sage's grandma. As for the main characters, well let us start with Lukas who in my opinion was pretty much the perfect hero. He was sexy as f@ck. He was alpha. He was damaged. He was vulnerable. He was a little goofy. He never gave up on Sage when honestly I felt he should have dropped kick her ass right out of his life.

description

Which brings me to why this lost a star for me, Sage. I could not stand her. I am not a big fan of heroine's that can't "do" love or commitment because OMG their parents had a bad relationship. Seriously? What are you five? And I REALLY do not like a person that continues to push/pull another person when you know they have genuine feelings for you. Either grow a pair and end things or get over your ridiculous parent issues and take a chance. It's just straight up mean and hurtful to lead someone on as Sage did to Lukas. Now she does get somewhat more likable in the second half of the book, but unfortunately I just never warmed up to her totally and was ultimately left feeling that Lukas deserved a better heroine.

Overall though this was an enjoyable and fast paced read and I look forward to seeing what this author has up next for us. Two thumbs up from yours truly.description

4 ½ ★

This is the 4th and final book in the “This is Our Life Series”. But it can easily be read as a standalone. I’m actually reading them out of order and still very much enjoy them very much.

I really like FG. Adams writing style. It makes for a really smooth reading experience. Love the setting and the characters and the realistic situations they have created. Also love how they go back and forth in time in a really smooth manner, and it is not confusing.

I really enjoyed Lukas While he is suffering and has some real issues, he is still is funny. He said some truly funny things only Lukas would come up with. I liked that even with his tough and protective exterior, he still had a very vulnerable site to him, which only a few got to see.

I also enjoyed Sage. She was the perfect match for him and just what he needed. She stood up to him and but also gave him a shoulder to lean on. She was his crutch when he needed it the most. She was also funny and very loyal.

Overall I really enjoyed this book, it was funny, heartbreaking, swoon worthy, sexy and heartwarming all in one and at the right times.

If you like second chance contemporary romance, than this book is most defiantly for you.

I rate it 4 ½ ★

4.5 Stars ~ Reviewed by Emma-Louise on behalf of KFF

Several years ago Lukas Rogers was a Military Officer serving in Dubai when he met the beautiful Dr Sage Blackwood.  There is no slow burn between these two even at their first meeting. Flash forward 2 years later and Lukas is a broken man after surviving a devastating injury.  He’s in a very dark place and in steps Sage, pulling Lukas off the ledge.

“I knew it.  You…What? Are you just gonna give up? Just like that, Luc?” She snaps her fingers.  “I sure didn’t peg you for a quitter.”

“You know, life itself can’t give you the joy and peace you’re looking for, Lukas.  I’ve learned first-hand.  But life does give you time; it’s up to you how to fill it.  So, what do you say, Jolly Green?”

Lukas chases after Sage with dogged determination.  Neither accepting why they simply can’t just walk away from each other.

“Ah, and there lies the problem, Lukas.  There is no us to discuss.”

“As long as there’re grains of sand in the hourglass of time, there will be an us Sage.  I’ll be waiting for you.”

“The old saying ‘Nobody said the road to heaven would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it’.”

The action in this story comes from the past of both Lukas and Sage.  It’s high stakes and affects everyone in the Blackwood family. Lukas is a highly intriguing person.  One minute he’s making tactical decisions about Trident Security and the next he’s quoting Dr Seuss.

“Simple, it’s not, I am afraid you will find, for a mind-make-upper to make up his mind.”

The characters were well written and fleshed out to create what felt to me to be pretty realistic people.   So enjoy when an author writes a scene from a male point of view and the banter is bang on and feels so real.  So many have tried it and it comes across as forced and or trying too hard.

Lukas is book 4 of the This is Our Life series, and they can be read as standalone books. I however, having read this fantastic read, will be jumping back into the world of Trident Security; but this time at the beginning. There were times during reading Lukas that I did feel as if I were missing something. Be it in the banter or the personal relationships the characters had forged from the previous three books. It didn’t detract from the experience of reading such a thrilling book; but it did give me pause once or twice.

Oh boy! Oh boy! Another book from this duet and I was on cloud nine...
I had read another book from them and I loved it so much.
Their writing is raw, intense, sassy and do hot that will leave you breathless...
Lukas is the fourth book from This Is Our Life series and what a book. Just a warning, I totally advise you to read the other 3 books first because despite they are all standalones you need to know the characters better.
This book tells Lukas and Sage's lifes.
Lukas is one of the guys. He's cocky, funny, loyal. He's the perfect hero with a vulnerable side and sexy as hell. He misses something in his life and when the beautiful and stubborn Sage enters his life he felt complete but things aren't always easy.
Sage is a stubborn as hell woman that refuses to fall in love and be happy. She had a bad past marked by her parents relationship and that marked her for life.
She had a one night stand with Lukas and thought that she wouldn't see him again but she couldn't be more wrong.
When Lukas loses his leg on a mission she is gonna be the one that will help him get better and I'm not saying another word...
Like I thought this book was amazing.
The twists and turns left me anxious, sad and sometimes mad as hell but the loyalty and the will to conquer and destroy all walls left me hopefull that things could be better.
I was so mad that I wanted to enter the book and shake some characters and tell them to wake up and smell the roses. Jeez they were so stubborn..
Girl the hot scenes are explosive and raw just the way I like them. Ah ah ah
I really can't wait for the next book from this series and I hope that the waiting isn't that long.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This was my first book by F.G. Adams and it was one that appealed to me after reading the blurb. However, I struggled to connect to the story and the characters. There were elements of this story that I felt were glossed over and not really given the attention that they needed, whilst others were given too much attention.

That being said I was still able to enjoy elements of this story. Lukas and Sage have a one night history between them and when Lukas' life is changed irrevocably by war, it brings Sage back into his life. A wedding brings them back into close quarters and this time Lukas is not giving up but Sage is stubborn. In addition someone is stalking Sage and it is someone from both their pasts. I suppose it is good that Lukas is even more stubborn than Sage and refuses to let her run away and deny her feelings for them.

Sage's stubbornness was just plain rude on occasion and I found it hard to understand Lukas' perseverance at these times and yet at times you could see her exterior slip and Sage let him in which brought me back into the story.

I wonder whether I should have read others in the series first as this may have filled in some of the gaps I felt were there. It felt that there was an expectation that we knew the backstory for all the characters. I will be going back to read the earlier installments in the series and will revisit this again at a later point.

Lukas by FG Adams a fab five-star read. This is the fourth book in the This is our lives series and they can be read as stand alone, they all do intermingle and I would recommend reading them in order to get the most out of the books. This series goes from strength to strength. This story has twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat, its filled with military men that will break and make your heart. FG Adams are two very talented writers that write as one person, there are no seams and each word flows from the last like poetry on the page.
Lukas Rogers is a broken man, he may have left the military but he still has ties to it with Trident Security the company we have met before with the other leading men of This is our lives series, through Trident and the others who work there he may just get pulled out the other side whole, but it may take something more., it may take a certain someone if they are strong enough.
Sage Blackwood has been independent and she also has a stubborn streak that puts mine to shame, she has always had a little help from her grandma who may just be one of the best background characters ever. But that’s all she would accept and only because circumstances merited it when she needed it. The problem is will Sage ever be able to help others if she won’t allow them to help her?

This is the story of Lukas Rogers and Sage Blackwood. He’s a former military operative with a technology background and is now working security with the guys who were his brothers in arms while she is a doctor he happened to meet overseas.
These characters have an on and off sexual relationship due mostly to her inability to commit until he makes the decision to “claim her” and doesn’t give her room to decide otherwise.
Add to the mix a wedding encounter, housesitting duties, a stalker and subsequent kidnapping to fill out this story.
This was my first read by the author and, unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed. The book is nicely written, but I ended up caring more about the secondary characters and couldn’t make a connection with the main characters or the story itself.
One thing that totally threw me off since the beginning is that this is a military related romance and the blurb doesn’t give any indication as such. This was not what I expected and, though it’s not a bad read, it didn’t have any appeal for me.

Lukas is the forth book in the series, and I’ve enjoyed everyone.
Lukas was injured when he was in the Middle East, and lost one of his legs. Lukas and Sage met when they were both working in the Middle East before he lost his leg.
When Oliver and Fallyn go away on honeymoon Sage comes to look after Harper at the compound. It was an opportunity for Lukas to pin down Sage. This book is at times very emotional and at other times humorous. I loved Lukas’s nickname Hulk or the jolly green giant on the account of his size.
I enjoyed the Lukas and Sage song and dance they were both great characters and I was with them every step of the way. This book had keep me glued to my kindle.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Lukas is the story of Lukas Rogers and Sage Blackwood. Lukas is working security now that he's home and SaGe is a doctor. They meet while overseas. Their relationship is very off and on until Lukas decides Sage is his.

This book is written in typical FG Adams fashion. They somehow make stories sweet, hot, and full of adventure. I adore this writing duo and can't wait to see who we get next.

Lukas (This is Our Life Book 4) by FG Adams is the fourth book in her This is Our Life series. It is not necessary to read the previous books in order to read this one. I would highly suggest it as it will give you background information on some of the other characters in this book. One thing that I enjoy about this author is that she does bring some of the previous characters into the next book in the series. I also enjoy her creativity and knowledge of military for the characters involved. Her attention for detail help makes the story flow and keeps it engaging. This is a military romance story that will pull at your heart strings. The characters in this book really pop off the page and into your heart. They will pull you into their world and make you feel like you are right there with them. They will take you on a roller coaster ride of various emotions. Find out what happens with this couple as their attraction gets hot and steamy.

Lukas Rogers is stationed over seas and that is where he meets her. There is an instant attraction from the beginning, he knew that he needed to make her his. Then an ambush happened and left him broken. Now that he is back in the states, they met up again. He was broken, half a man, then she pieces him back together again. She changes his world forever with her humor and hot body. Her logic overrules her cravings. It doesn't matter if she feels the same about him, he is the master at games and puzzles. Will he win this game? He is used to getting what he wants but will he get her?

Sage Blackwood is a woman who refuses to make the same relationship mistakes her parents made. When she meets him, she instantly feels a connection, attraction to him. Once he comes back to the States and they meet again, she refuses to date or have a relationship with him. Her problem is that every time he touches her, he sends her to heaven. But she just can't give him what he wants, she just can't give herself to him. Her body desires what he has to offer while her brain keeps telling her to run. They have a bond that is hard for her to resist but will it break her? Will he convince her to give them a chance?

Lukas and Sage's relationship has had a connection from the beginning. Their attraction is undeniable, hot and steamy. He is just so broken and she is running from any type of relationship. What happens when she realizes that she wants to be with him but can't let herself? He has demons he is fighting and she is just independent and stubborn. They are strong characters that really do make the story flow into the story that it is. He is determined to make her his and she is determined to keep fighting the relationship. There was a few times in this story, I just wanted to yell at her, to just let things go and be with him. There are a few twists and turns that will leave you sitting on the edge of you seat just waiting to see what is going to happen. There are other times in this book that are so hot and steamy that you will want some ice water. The secondary characters are just as supportive and make the story. Sage's Grandmother is one of the best secondary characters I have seen in awhile. Find out what happens to these two characters as they start a journey of healing and letting things go so that the future will have a chance to happen.

This is one of my favorite books by FG Adams and I can't wait to see what is coming next for us. F.G writes about sexy alpha heroes and feisty mouthed heroines. The wonder twins have been reading since they have been children. Their grandmother taught them that the mind has no limits and to use both hands when reaching for the stars. When they are not writing together you can find with their significant others on the beach or riding their Harley on a country road. This story is fast paced and will keep you engaged until the end. I had a hard time putting it down at times. There is just enough twists and turns in this story to keep you reading. I highly suggest this story as I know you will want to see what happens when someone resists love, who will win, them or fate?

Well I have read all books leading up to #4 and as always, FG Adams delivers another amazing story! Their work is flawless with every swipe/turn of each page in the book. The men of Trident are fierce and a force to be reckoned with. They live and die for what or who they love! Each member has a story to tell. Each one believes in the brotherhood one chooses to create and live by and not the one that is bestowed upon us from birth. The path that these men have chosen to follow will leave you gasping for air, have you crying buckets of tears for what they fight for and will heat up the passion levels beyond return! I loved all the books thus far, but I have to say that Lukas's story was a highly anticipated book for me and my favorite. Just getting to know him from the previous books that gave us a glimpse of his character keeps you on edge! My heart embraced Lukas and Sage. Your heart will instantly embrace them once you read it too. The cover of the book was amazing and it depicts Lukas's character perfectly. Behind those eyes and heart, lies a man who will go to ends of the world to protect what's his!

I am a hopeless romantic and I totally believe in love at first sight. I believe that somewhere out far in the galaxy above us all, we are somehow destined to be with that one person who is your security blanket, who loves you for all that you are, flaws and all. That one person who will love heaven and earth to just but a smile on your face. You get the picture? We just hope to meet that destiny. In this book, you will read a story that clearly exemplifies the true meaning of love, faith, and a strong family!

Well in this story, you will soon find out that no matter how terrible the cards you are dealt with are so bad, the strength to overcome such a bad deck of cards will eventually lead you to your destiny. Even if that destiny is a very strong, stubborn, highly opinionated woman who has a brick wall around her heart for protection of what she deeply wants, but fears doesn't exist for her. That is until she meets Lukas, that Hulk of a man, who now works for Trident Security.

Will destiny allow the inevitable to happen, or will their stubborn ways hold them back from what everyone else can see clear as Day, except these two in the story?

FG Adams is a dynamic duo writing partnership that everyone should read! Their writing is flawless and clearly you can feel their passion for writing while reading any of their books. They take you on wonderful storytelling journey that will have you up and reading all hours until you reach the end, and then BAM they give just enough of a taste in what's to come and next book! Now I await book #5 anxiously! I'll wait, because the time and effort that goes into each book is so worth the wait! When the book releases, you must one click!! In the mean time, start reading book 1 Grayson, book 2 Keagan, and book 3 Oliver! Happy Reading book lovers!

Lukas is the fourth book in the This Is Our Life Series by F.G Adams. Even though it is part of a series, it could be read as a standalone. But, the other books in this series are amazing, and all the books interconnect somewhat with backstories and characters/character information; not to mention they’re fantastic reading and well worth the investment of your time and money.
This book is a riveting 2nd chance at love, military romance, journey to recovery, overcoming almost insurmountable odds- it’s raw, gritty, emotional and inspiring.
Lukas Rogers is six feet seven inches of delicious manliness. He is ex-military, now working for Trident Security with some of his former team mates. Lukas had an incident occur that has left him a shell of his former self. He feels weak, like a failure and a coward. His experience has driven him to alcohol and pills in an effort to quell the flashbacks and make it through the days. He gets little sleep, and what he does get is wracked with nightmares. He was once a happy man, he had a woman who brought passion and joy to his life- then in a flash his life changed forever. He fears he will be tormented by his demons forever.
Sage Blackwood is a tall, beautiful, fiery, passionate wild cat. She met Lukas in another time and place- their chemistry ignited in a blaze of passion that changed their lives forever. But circumstances drove them apart, she has her reasons for leaving, but ever since she has had to watch him spiral into the shadow of the man he once was. She can’t be with him, but he’s her kryptonite, her one weakness. So, when she realises that he’s on a destructive, downward path, and has a serious death wish- she offers to assist him to get the help he needs to recover.
With obstacles, bumps, deep-seated issues, and lots of heartache- these two have a difficult journey ahead of them. Will they find their way back into each other’s arms? Can they put the past behind them and embrace the future, together? What will the future hold for them?
This story was intense, emotional, and had me holding my breath at times, reading feverishly to find out what was going to happen. My heart ached for what they experienced and endured. I just wanted to give them both the biggest hugs. Sage and Lukas were really well developed, complex characters who really grew as the story progressed. The secondary character are all superb, as well- I loved the camaraderie, funny banter and verbal jousting that they have happen whenever the group is all together. Each character is individual, with their own quirks and personalities- fully developed, realistic and believable. They are a credit to Ms. Adams consummate writing skills.
I love how the story was wrapped up, and how the foundations were laid for the next book. With this group, it seems like danger is never far away.
I am looking forward to the next book.

Thank you, Ms. Adams!

Lukas has been in love with Sage Blackwood for years. They had an instant connection that was severed by threats and tragedy. However, Sage is there when Lukas most needs her . . . saving his life and giving him something to live for. Why can’t she just admit she wants and needs him too?

Sage lets logic rule her life rather than feelings. While she can’t completely quit Lukas Rogers, she also refuses to give in to her wants and have a relationship tried with him. Lukas won’t be denied however, and this time he is not taking no for an answer . . . especially when a threat from Sage’s past also has ties to the man that broke him so many years ago.

Will Lukas win the girl and eliminate the threat to her life? Will Sage finally give in to her desires and stop running from the man who loves her more than life itself?

Lukas is book four in F.G. Adam’s This is Our Life series. While it can be read as a standalone, characters from prior books do make an appearance. Lukas is a dominant man who struggles with a life changing injury, that he feels left him as less of a man. Sage is a very independent woman who can take care of herself and fears giving in to her desires and giving anyone else control over her life or decisions. Combined, however, their chemistry was instantaneous and off the charts.

The action of this book revolves around Lukas and the rest of the Trident team trying to identify and eliminate the newest threat on the Blackwood family . . . which just happens to have ties to a mission that went to hell in Iraq many years ago. A lot of the plot read as a cat and mouse game between Lukas and Sage. Honestly, at times it was almost too much . . . I found Sage to be bullheaded and whiny and unable to make up her mind and I felt she strung Lukas along for way to long a time . . . and I kind of lost some respect for him that he let her do it.

I thought the twist regarding the current (and past) threat was well written and added a lot of interest to the story. Trouble seems to follow the Blackwood family and those they care about and this book also foreshadowed what is coming up next for them.

Overall, a solid story and enjoyable read. 4 stars.

Lukas (This is Our Life Series Book 4)
By: F.G. Adams
5 out of 5 stars

The story Lukas (This is Our Life Series Book 4) by F.G. Adams is a military/romance book. They met when overseas in Dubai. The connection between them was hot and steamy. Then after an ambush, Lukas finds himself dealing with the emptiness of a lonely heart. Then back in the US he again finds her and she is there for him during his darkest hours. They always feel a connection between each other however she will not allow him to pursue a relationship with her. She has seen both the physical and emotional pain that went along with her parent’s relationship and refuses to make that same mistake. Can Lukas convince Sage that what he wants goes way beyond a quick hookup and that he wants her as his forever?

This is the fourth book in the This is Our Life series and had my attention from the very beginning. It was hard to put down until I had finished. While each of these stories revolves around a couple who are falling in love there are parts of the storyline and also characters that overlap into the next book. I highly suggest reading these books in order. It made my reading experience a smooth one. This story deals with how Lukas pursues Sage as he wants her always to be in his life and the struggle that goes on within Sage as she finds that she wants to be with Lukas, however, can’t seem to let go of fears that she has. It is also about how a situation arises that puts Sage in harm’s way and the lengths that Lukas will go to keep her safe. These two also have amazing friends and family that they can count on in any situation. This book gives you the warm fuzzy feeling you get when two people are falling in love and had me rooting for Lukas and Sage to get their HEA! This is an author that weaves a story so well that I was wishing it was longer. I wanted to read more about Lukas and Sage. I am hoping that there is another book in this series. The love story of Lukas and Sage is red hot and does include some very steamy love scenes. It would be recommended for those 18 years of age or older.

Lukas by FG Adams is book four in the This is Our life series. I have been so so excited for this book as I fell in complete love with the first three hunks and the Blackwood ladies. It would be best to read each in order though they could pass as a stand alone. The men have been together for years (minus Greyson) and so theirs stories all overlap. Each story goes back a little in time but I enjoyed being able to get snippets of the lives of the other men I've come to drool over.

Lukas "Luc" Rogers is in the military and an amazing hacker. He loves math and problem solving and now gets paid to do so. He's had it rough. With a leg amputation, losing his girl and PTSD, he has completely lost his will to live. But she saves him, she has since they met. He will do anything and everything to protect what is his, always. "Sage is the normal to [his] crazy," and that means she's his world

Sage Blackwood has had an interesting life. One of the only Blackwood children to get along with the abusive father and manage to not feel his complete wrath. Though that doesn't mean she came out unharmed. She has emotional damage as scars and that affects her current relationships, or the one she's trying to avoid anyway. Being a Blackwood, she is already in for some trouble. Little do her and Lukas know it's more than they thought.

I was so excited to read Lukas. I have come to love these boys and love reading about how much they love their women and protect their family. Have to say I was a little bummed at how this story seemed to be all over the place, the flow broke up a little in that some things I felt could have or should have been explained more were not. However it did not take away from the whole picture. One laugh worth moment: The little chicken noodle comment about Harper, I lost my crap at that! Overall, I liked this book, and Lukas' undeniable love and devotion to his woman, I mean seriously I need a Lukas! Cannot wait to see if we get Harpers story!!! Only if we too it will be too long.

Lukas by FG Adams is the fourth book in the This Is Our Life Series, and as always FG Adams delivers an amazing book! I have completely fallen in love with these series and these characters. I honestly can't get enough of them. If it was possible I'd never have this series and these characters end. Like I said Lukas is the fourth book in the series, I would definitely recommend reading the previous books in the series before starting this one, because we catch glimpses of them in previous books, and it also allows you to have more information about other characters. FG Adams has completely knocked it out of the park with this series! An amazing 5 star read!

Lukas Rogers is overseas when he first meets her, he knows from the first glance and that she's different. He also knows without a doubt that she'll be his. But now he isn't the same man he was before, he's broken. He's back in the states when they meet again, he considers himself broken, while she sees him different. Can her love and different view of everything change how he feels? Lukas is use to getting whatever he wants, and he wants her. Will she let him in, and let him win her over?

Sage Blackwood knows without a doubt she will never have a relationship like her parents. She wants something completely different, she wants the love, the happiness, the fire, she wants everything. She feels all those things when she meets Lukas, but now he's back in the states and he seems different. Even though her body is telling her to stop fighting and to just give in to the way he makes her feel, she's not sure she can. Can Lukas show her that even though they have this strong bond, he won't be the one to break her? He'll only make her stronger, but she's not too sure. What happens next for these two? How does it end? Does it even get a chance to start?

This story was amazing! It was a perfect addition to the series, and probably my favorite. I would recommend this to everyone. I can't wait to see what FG Adams comes up with next!

Lukas – This is Our Life Series Book 4 by F.G. Adams

I would not consider this book to be a standalone. The “This is Our Life Series” is an interconnected series of “brothers” who served in the military together. There is a history that has threaded through all of the books and I think it’s important to have the full background of each sister and brother to fully understand what is going on. I think it would be a shame if someone didn’t like the book because they hadn’t read the previous stories.

“Lukas” is the story of Lukas and Sage. He wants her, she resists because she can’t get over her past, he pursues her and helps her overcome events in her life, and she continues to resist and push and pull him until she no longer does. Arghhhhhh Sage, you are a grown woman who is smart, beautiful, interesting, and loyal and have a dynamic personality. GET OVER IT!!! (Is what I would say to her if she were a real person in my life.) Sage’s motto is “I’ve chosen to stay away from commitment and the ‘love’ thing”. Lukas, on the other hand, is funny and witty, and oh so big and sexy. He’s overcoming his demons and making a new start for himself. She redeems herself by the end and I am cheering her on to get her “hulk”. As Lukas quotes: “We are a little weird and life’s a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with our own, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love” (and I also believe we call it friendship).

The story flows well from beginning to end. There are twists and turns and ups and downs along the way. Lukas is funny as heck and brought an uplifting spirit to the story. The secondary characters are (as always) fantastic and I would absolutely recommend this series.

A side note: The team of F.G. Adams must have some fantastic grandmothers in their lives. They write the BEST grandmother characters. Makes me miss my grandmothers.

Lukas is the fourth book in the This is Our Life series by FG Adams and it is just as good as the others. It can be read as stand alone but I encourage you to read them in order to feel the relationships of these wonderful Alpha military men, who will set your heart pumping, with their loyalty and love for their family. FG writes a great tale and this story, just the same as the others has twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat but you will be swept away with want for these wonderful characters of the Trident Security and you will be just as affected by Grandma Matilda. With her in your corner, the sky's the limits.

Lukas Rogers has left the military life but is down and out on his luck, he is a broken man with nowhere to go but further down, or so he thinks. Masking his feelings has become his game but all he needs is one person and that person likes to run and hide. It’s time to get his head in the game, sort himself out and get the woman to come to her senses. Lukas is a member of Trident Security where he works with his brothers at arms, his family and they will let nothing come between them and the ones they love.

Sage Blackwood is a sassy, independent and one stubborn woman. She was in Afghanistan but had to return home where she thought she was safe but little by little something or someone is out to cause her pain. Why? she doesn’t know. Who? She doesn’t know. Will she survive the threats? Will she break down her walls and let help in? Will she break down her walls and let love in? With being face to face with danger will she learns just what is important?

Do yourselves a favour and grab a copy of this series. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

I LOVE THIS SERIES‼
Lukas is the fourth book in the This is Our Life Series. It is as good as book one, two, three and now four. Lukas is a military/ romance read that had a hold on me from page one. I would suggest you read these book in order as the characters overlap in the series and make each book fantastic.
Lukas met Sage in Dubai at a time when they needed each others friendship and connection. The missions left both of them scarred and Lukas suffered more than Sage and she help him put the pieces together. Once back in the states he is determined to have the woman he considers his. Lukas is the jokester in the group of family and friends, he knows just how to lighten a room and spin it in laughter but inside he is suffering. Lukas sees himself as half a man and he needs Sage to help him.
Sage is determined not to fall in the trap her parents lived in. She like things the way they are with Lukas and doesn’t want the same things he wants. Sage likes the occasional hook up, but Lukas wants the white picket fence and forever. He is determined they will have it and Sage is determined they won’t. Things begin to happen in Sage’s life and Lukas needs to step up and protect her. Will Sage let Lukas take charge and keep her safe? Will their relationship go anywhere?
I love a good falling in love story! With Lukas and Sage I found myself pulling for their relationship!
F.G.Adams is one amazing author‼ I love her characters and where she takes me book after book I never want them to end and I am pretty sure you will feel the same way! Beware F.G.Adams has a way of sucking you in and not letting go until the end and it is the best‼

Lukas is a great story that I had a hard time putting down. It was emotional from the beginning and instantly hooked me in to the story and attached me to the characters. It’s a strong story all the way through, complete with some twists, emotional and stressful moments in this suspenseful military romance.

Lukas is ex-military, who continues to serve in other ways through Trident Security. He’s dominant, with just the right amount of sweet to melt your heart but he’s been damaged inside and out. There was such a sad part, tough to read that had me in tears. He met Sage years ago in a bar before his accident. They had an instant connection and sparks years before and those sparks are finally reignited.

Sage is an interesting character. She carries herself with strength and confidence, but on the inside she’s a mess. I love the contradiction in her character; it made her vulnerable and unpredictable. She’s hesitant about a relationship and I felt for her during these struggles. There are also some great support characters. I love their friends and her grandma was great; she made me smile.

Lukas is book four of the This Is Our Life series; it can be read as a standalone. F.G. Adams is a new author for me that I plan to read more of. Even though I started in the middle of this series I didn’t feel like I was missing out on any parts of the story, but I’m without a doubt missing out on a great series. I’m looking forward to book five and also going back to read more about the military men of Trident Security in the previous books.

The men of Trident Security seem to get more loving and protective of those they care for. Each book can be read as a standalone; however, you do see the other characters throughout each book. It just makes you miss them if you read the others or leaves you wanting to read them if you have not read them. I missed one in the series and you can easily follow along with out any problems. The only problem you have is figuring out which Trident man you love the best.
Lukas behind those eyes and laughing jokes tells a story we knew was there, but never did I think it was this tearful. You are broken yet you yearn for the one and boy is she a game changer that take forever to hook.
Sage you were hurt in the past which led you to believe you don't do love. You were wish washy in this aspect and some will either love you, hate you then love you, or not like you all together. You played with Lukas's emotions over the years and we didn't ever know when you were going to see the light and see that while you are entwined with him from a work aspect the night you met was a game changer. The passion wasn't the issue as we can see, it was about putting the past to the side and seeing what was right in front of you.
Will Lukas be able to get Sage to see that they are meant for each other? Who is next in the Trident Security team to get a story? We shall see in the next installment. This duo sure knows how to hook and entertain us as readers and leave us patiently waiting for the next story. This is our life series is a must read for those who love Alpha men and sassy women.

Lukas: This Is Our Life -Book 4
By F.G. Adams
5/5 Stars

Lukas is the Fourth book in This Is Our Life Series by F.G. Adams. This is an action packed book, from beginning to end,Full of secrets and surprises. You won't be able to put it down!
I do recommend reading this series in proper order. You will get a much better understanding of the characters!! Each character, has their own past. Full of deep emotional and physical scars!!
Lukas Rogers returns from a mission a broken man. He drinks and takes pills to dull the pain. Not just emotional pain, but physical pain as well. He is certain, no one will love him in his condition.
His friends, Keagan, Oliver and Moose… try to help him. But he doesn't want the help. He thinks he can figure things out on his own.
Sage Blackwood and Lukas have one night of passion. That he can't and won't forget. She is what gets him through those dark times.
Sage likes to push all of Lukas’ buttons. Good and bad ones. But little does he know, she can't seem to get him out of her head either. But she can't give him what he wants. She has a past she isn't willing to share.
Sometimes, two broken souls… find their way to each other. And end up healing each other in the process. Sometimes, love is a cure for all!!
You must read this book to find out what happens with Lukas and Sage’s story. It will not disappoint you in the least!! Another outstanding job, F.G. Adams! I can't wait to read what's in store for us next!!

This is the second book in this series I have read and wowzers was Lukas a hot alpha. I loved everything about him. The book starts a few years in the past after he had lost a leg, Sage saved his life. And since then nothing has been the same. I love his cockiness in the present, his relationship with his coworkers who are basically family and in a way I love that he never gave up on Sage.

My ONLY issue with this book is that Sage was too afraid of love and would never pursue something serious with Lukas but she wouldn't let him go either, so 2 years we had back and forth with them. And while I loved his commitment to never giving up, I feel like she toyed with him WAY too long. Sage though is very independent, and of course her world get shattered when she gets threats. She doesn't know what to do and while you still see her being strong you get to see her be vulnerable also. Her grandmother though is the best! I loved that character.

The chemistry between Lukas and Sage though is amazing and I love how much she gets turned on by his very alpha self by being bossy. I love that Lukas puts everything into Sage and his work and his friends, he always gives 100%. I also love that he calls Sage doc. The authors have a great writing style and can really draw you into the book. While I felt the beginning few chapters were necessary, I didn't fully get into the book until about 10%, but then it was all, I HAVE to finish this like NOW! A great read.

Lukas by F.G. Adams is the fourth and final book in the This is Our Life series. This can be read as a standalone book and enjoyed. I have read the other books in the series and have enjoyed watching the characters featured in their own stories but also as well as background characters in the other stories. This book follows the story of Lukas Rogers and Sage Blackwood. The two met many years ago, when Sage was in the Peace Corps and Lukas was serving in the military. The two lose touch after his unit is ambushed but later come across each other while he is working for Trident Security. He has always felt a connection to Sage not counting the sexual tension between the two of them. Sage does not want to have to rely on anyone and does not want to face her feelings for Lukas. She wants to believe that he is only good as a friend with benefits.
I enjoyed this book as much as the others in the series. Each has focused on a different couple that must conquer their personal demons as well as something that is occurring in their lives. In this book, we see Sage’s background coming back to haunt her. Her time in Dubai with the Peace Corps is brought back into her life with some threats that are coming through. Lukas wants to be hers in every sense of the world. He will do anything to protect the woman he loves. Even though this series is completed I will be look for more from F.G. Adams to read in the future.

A 4.5 star read for Lukas, This Is Our Life # 4, by F.G. Adams. This is the 4th book in the This Is Our Life Series and this is Lukas and Sage’s book.
Lukas Rogers along with the other members of his team are stationed in the Middle East, while there he meets Sage Blackwood. The chemistry between them is immediate and so strong. The sex is off the chart with them. While out on a mission, Lukas is hurt and he will never be the same again. When he sees Sage again, this time stateside, she is in charge of his recovery, only to pass him off to a different doctor. She has saved his life in more ways than just medically.
Their relationship starts off as just sex, amazing, hot, steamy sex, but when Lukas wants more and Sage is scared to commit. Sage wants nothing more than be with Lukas but she is terrified to open her heart to him.
Sage is determined not to have a relationship like her parents had. She wants that once in a lifetime love, can she trust Lukas enough to give that to her??

I have read all of the books in this series and I have truly enjoyed them all. There were times that I wanted to shake some sense into Sage while reading this book, that is for sure. While I feel like these could probably be read as standalones, I do recommend reading them in order, just to get a better understanding of all of the characters. I truly can not wait to see what else is to come by this fabulous author.

You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a good book. By Dr. Seuss
Well I can say this book was simply irresistible. I literally started out reading it one chapter at a time. I wanted it to last as long as I could and then I couldn’t take it anymore and had to finish it. It was by far one of my favorites in this series. I have been devoted to reading the series and will continue to if it goes on.
Lukas Rogers is a hulk, they call him Jolly Green and he is built like the Jolly Green Giant. He is well over 6 foot tall and one big hunk of a man. He is gorgeous and he knows it but there is only one woman that has ever been his kryptonite, Dr. Sage Blackwood. When the two of them get together it is all but fireworks between them. They are smoking hot together but can’t see past the infatuation.
Dr. Sage Blackwood is beautiful, smart, and one woman that can be very stubborn. She works hard at the clinic and helps her grandma she needs help. Once upon a time, Sage met a hulk of a man that has done something to her that no other man can and she tries to keep him at an arms distance but sometimes the spark is too powerful.
This book is just mesmerizing. My heart is full after reading this book and it will be hard to find another book as good. Keep up the amazing work.

Lukas by FG Adams is the fourth book in This Is Our Life Series and can be read as a stand-alone. This novel is a powerful head over heels fall in love with the characters type of story. FG Adams has done it again with this novel and with this series. FG Adams takes a rugged broken man that most people wouldn’t expect to be a soft-hearted kind of person and turns him into the hearts and flowers type alpha male. Adams can create one of a kind story that will melt anyone’s heart and capture your attention through-out the entire novel. Not only will you feel like you know the characters, you will feel like you are part of the novel itself and can relate to what the female character goes through when she is trying to love the big bad alpha male. Lukas is my favorite one of the series yet because while he isn’t whole, he overcomes his past and what he perceives as a weakness to get the woman he loves and his happily ever after with her. But even the alpha male has his moments and doesn’t think he can pull it off but when things turn for his girl, he takes out all the stops and makes sure she is protected. When these brothers band together, nothing is impossible for them and they will always take care of their girls. FG Adams is a must read for any romance reader no matter what the sub-genre is.

Lukas is the fourth book in F.G. Adams’ This is Our Life series and I am sure you could read it as a standalone but I would not recommend it as the whole series is about a band of ‘brothers’ who served together in the army and have found a way to stay together also in the civilian life and obviously because of that the stories are connected though they each are one brother’s story. They have a history they share and it is important to know it so that one would get the most out of the book they are reading.
So this story is of Lukas Rogers the ‘Hulk’ and of Sage Blackwood. They met while they were overseas, Sage as a doctor and Lukas in the army and they had an instant connection. Due to different issues and demons and they struggle to commit to each other until Lukas makes a decision to ‘claim Sage’ and he will do whatever it takes and Sage should simply accept it! I am sure you can imagine how well it goes down … She cannot though deny their chemistry and ‘unfortunately’ she simply melts when he kissed her and … well, there is NO shortage of hot and steaming moments in this book so be ready!
I loved the book and I am looking very much forward to learning more about the other brothers and … well, let’s just say that the way the writer ended this book, oh my, I will be very much looking forward to the next book!

Lukas by F.G. Adams is the fourth book in the This is Our Life series. First of WOW!!! This book captures your attention straight off the bat. You immediately get reacquainted with Lukas who lost his leg in Dubai. He struggles internally and externally with his injuries. Before he loses his leg he has a brief relationship with Sage who happens to be a doctor. Sage is part of the Blackwood family so she is reintroduced to the Titan family through Ollie and Fallyn. Once Ollie and Fallyn are married and leave for their honeymoon Sage and Lukas are the caregivers for Harper. Lukas wants nothing but to be with Sage but Sage is not sure she believes in love. After Sage’s life is in danger due to an international stalker Lukas is even more determined to not only protect Sage but to show her how good the two of them could be as a couple inside and out of the bedroom. Sage has had poor examples of couples during her childhood and feels that she is like her father and should not be in a relationship. Can Lukas convince Sage to give them a chance? Can Lukas and his team keep the Blackwoods safe? This book is a fast paced exhilarating read. I felt like I was flying through this book. I totally give this book 5 stars!
