Am I an a**hole? I can be. Do I give a sh*t? No.
Everybody knows destruction is my game…
I’m done fooling around. If I want to be the boss of the family, I’m going to have to wise up and act like a man. I need a wife. Stability. A real life.
There’s only one problem: Hope Lawrence promised she wouldn’t end up with a guy like me. Of course, as soon as we locked lips, everything fell apart. They took her away from me. They held her for ransom. My brothers betrayed me.
Now I need my revenge. I’m off to save the most beautiful woman in this damn world. And I ain’t taking no for an answer…
Railed is a full standalone romance novel with a HEA and absolutely NO CLIFFHANGERS!
This was so bad. Hero was an asshole. Heroine was way too stupid for me. It was like one thing after another. Avery (H) had 9 lives. So did the other brothers. It was kind of a joke. Too much inner dialogue. Could have skimmed 3/4 of the book and still got what was happening. Didn't care for the epilogue at all. Just was not for me.
This was a fast paced MC book, the second from Kara Hart. This one is the story of Avery and Hope.
Avery is feeling lost within Courage and MC is trying to find his way again when a one night stand with singer Hope turns out to be more helpful than he first thought.
Hope is a struggling singer so when she's needs help she turns to the only person left she can think of,Avery.
So when they agree to help each other they find they want more and what could go wrong? With lots of twists and turns this is an enjoyable second book in the series, can't wait to see what's coming up next.
I received this book in return for my honest opinion.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and Railed by Kara Hart was a fast paced, action packed bad boy biker book. The guys in this MC are tough, crude and hot! They live for their club, brothers matter and women really only serve one or two purposes! But for Avery, that's become old; he's sick of club whores and wants to settle down and Hope is just who he needs. Except she's not likely to settle for Avery, so he's got his work cut out for him. I will be watching for another book from Kara Hart.
I received and ARC in exchange for an honest review. I struggled a little with this book, as it is extremely fast paced. It is the typical MC book where the guys are all hot, rugged, protective, and foul mouthed. I felt that things developed too quickly between Hope and Avery. But that is just my opinion!! This is a short read as Kara has included another book in this series in the bundle. I will read more of Kara’s work in the future.
GREAT EFFORT BUT NEEDS A LITTLE WORK !!! Title: Railed Series: Book Two of Courage MC Designation: Standalone Novella, NO Cliffhanger Author: Kara Hart Reading Platform: Kindle Edition My Rating: Three Hopeful Stars*** **I would like to preface my review by saying the information shown on the product page indicates this book to be 280 pages in length which is somewhat misleading. As a bonus to her readers, Hart has included a copy of Burnt, the first release of the Courage MC Series in the rear of this book. Railed makes up only 44% of my downloaded ebook edition so I would estimate the story to be approximately 130 pages.
Railed is a fast paced standalone novella with no cliffhanger and second release by aspiring young author Kara Hart. I admit, I have not read Burnt, Hart's debut novel and first book of the Courage MC series, so this is my first time reading Kara Hart's work. Although I'm not a professional reviewer, I generally know what I like, what I love and what I don't but I was conflicted about my opinion and rating for this book . On one hand, I found the concept and plot somewhat unrealistic yet still reasonably entertaining, but on the other hand, I found myself disliking the two protagonists and completely unsatisfied with the execution of the story. I never felt a real connection between Avery and Hope, and their sexual chemistry was seriously lacking. In other words, the sex scenes were okay but didn't really rev my engine. Tragically, I felt there was no real character development or growth for Avery nor Hope, the two protagonists. The narrative was reasonably well written in the first person with clearly defined dual perspectives from the two primary characters, bad boy biker Avery and down-on-her-luck pop star Hope Lawrence. The difference between an okay character and a great character for a reader is being able to step into their mind, understand their thoughts and empathize with their plight whether it be good or bad. For me to connect and identify with a character, I need to know them and for that, I need a first and last name and to the best of my knowledge, Avery's last name was never given in the story. It's totally unrealistic to expect a reader to believe that a fairly intelligent young woman like Hope is going to have a serious relationship with a man she knows only as Avery. A one night stand, yeah maybe, but not risk her heart as well as her life for a man with just a first name. The behavior of the characters was, at times, unrealistic and the narrative disjointed with glaring inconsistencies. The entire book was primarily dialogue which was moderately well executed but sadly, quite often, unbelievable and immature. The grammar and sentence structure were generally good. There were a few boo-boos but nothing so distracting that it ripped my attention out of the story. It's obvious that Hart does have a great deal of raw talent and put a considerable amount of time and work into this novel. For this, I applaud her efforts but she lacks direction and experience. This story clearly shows promise but the author could benefit greatly from the services of a critique partner and good editor. I understand when you're self published you have to wear a lot of hats and finances as well as resources are stretched thin, but if you want to succeed in the overpopulated and immensely competitive world of indie publishing, some dues must still be paid.
This is not a book report and I don't give spoilers in my reviews but I will say this....Handsome, cocky and very arrogant bad boy biker who needed a wife for advancement but never thought he would fall in love, and just may have to eat his own words-check! A beautiful down-on-her-luck pop star who always had a weakness for handsome bad boys and seems to consistently make bad decisions-check! A crew of maniacal, homicidal and downright crazy bikers-check! Heart-pounding drama, heart-stopping danger, spine-tingling suspense, shocking betrayals and unexpected plot twists-check! Surprising attraction and unconventional romance-check! That and a whole lot more!
When reviewing and rating a book, there are several questions I always ask. First, did I love this story? No, but I did like it. There were times I felt like throwing my Kindle against the wall in desperation over the sometimes stupidity of the characters, but we all have our little pet peeves. Second, would I recommend this book? That's a tough one but this story had its merits so I would simply say, if you're enticed by the blurb, give it a try and decide for yourself. After all, one man's trash is another man's treasure, but please allow me to be perfectly clear, by no mean am I calling this book trash. I don't regret a single minute spent reading this story. Third, will I read this author again? I'm not really sure. I guess it depends on the book. As I said, it's obvious that Hart put a lot of work into this book and I'm sure with a little help and some hard earned experience under her belt, this author will improve. She definitely has talent as well as creativity but needs direction. And finally, was I entertained? Despite the problems, I actually liked a number of things about this story and did enjoy most of it. So surprisingly, I would have to say that I was entertained. I didn't love it but I did like it.

*I received this ARC from the author in exchange for a honest review*
RAILED(Courage MC) by Kara Hart
When a biker meets a famous singer, what does he do? He takes her home. Avery's done fooling around, he needs a wife to be the boss of the family. He doesn't do love or emotion, all he needs is to wise up and sort himself out.
Hope Lawrence got pushed into a job she never wanted and towards a man she said she'd never end up with. But one kiss and it changes everything. Thats when everything falls apart. She loses her house. She loses her job. And then she gets kidnapped.
Avery's brothers held Hope for ransom, they betrayed him. Now his out for revenge. He wants hers, and when he saves her, his going to tell her. Hope is his and his not taking no for an answer!
This book was a bit of a dilemma for me. Although this book has a interesting and entertaining storyline, I felt it was extremely underdeveloped. Somewhere along the way things got lost. And what I think was lost, was the actual plot devices used, which also made me feel less connected with the characters. And unfortunately I didn't really like either character either. Regrettably this book just didn't work for me. I'm sure that many will love it, but it's simply not the read for me.
This was an Arc copy for an honest review. Very fast paced, lots of action and violence. Crude language, threats and ill treatment of Hope. This is a story filled with tension, betrayal and fighting. The violence is graphic and scary in places, its dark and cruel. Intense from start to almost the end, it keeps you gripped to the pages there's so much going on. From one scene, pretty much straight into the next, barely giving you time to get your breath back. Great reading and definitely not boring in any way shape or form, plenty to get your teeth into. Hope and Avery have both had hard lives and at first when they meet he just wants to use her, doesn't treat or speak to her with any respect. Hope has just lost everything she had built up trying to better herself and have a decent life, suddenly that gets turned completely on its head. Can they find any common ground, get out of the hell they find themselves living in, find love and something better. This is a stand alone story, there is no cliff hanger.
This is the first time I have read a book by Kara Hart and I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this intriguing action-packed romance. This story covers Rust Blackwood, a real hard drinking bad boy, womanizer and captain of Courage the biggest MC club in town and Jackie Matthews, a loyal but tough woman who's Father, Lane Matthews is the boss of Hell's Wheels but has cancer and has less than a month to live. The obvious baddy is the third club, Darkhorse. In this story you will find action, drama, suspense, death of a Father, betrayal, crime, anger, revenge, drug deals, marriage, parasitic drugs, guns blazing, grenades exploding, falling in love, romance and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is action-packed, well thought out and written. The characters are well developed with realistic emotional feelings of revenge, needs and desires. I would definitely recommend this book to people who like to read a fantastic well written bad boy romance with a HEA. You will not be disappointed.
Received this complimentary arc copy from the author for an honest review. Oh wow, another good story in the Courage MC gang. Avery is like a lost soul. He needs to be settled so when his boss Bruce suggests he get a wife he is shocked. Along comes Avery Lawrence, a singer who needs help from Avery. Maybe she is just what he needs. Another brilliantly fast paced story about the brutal at times, lifestyle of the Courage MC group. Lots of secrets, lies, big betrayals, twists and turns and so much more. Hope has a strange relationship at first with Avery, sometimes he acts childish but as the story progresses, he grows up a lot and they finally realise they need each other. Even love .... Bobby was pure disgustingly evil. Luke was a lost soul who felt betrayed but together Bobby and Luke were a formidable duo. Brilliant story
From the moment they meet, Avery & Hope embark on a violent, tumultuous journey. Hope's life falls apart and she is cast out on to the street. She turns to Avery, a MC biker for help. Immediately, they are swept away in a whirlwind of violence, betrayal and war with rival clubs as well as dealing with treachery within his own club. Plot moves rapidly from one heart stopping scene to another. Twists and turns will keep you entranced. This biker world seems far more realistic than any I have read in a long time. It holds your attention, keeps you in suspense, yet at the same time, two hearts find precious love amidst all the turmoil. I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review. Five stars.
Most biker book they depict the biker as a gentle giant but one thing I liked about this book from the word go Avery was shown in true biker image of don’t care about anything other than my biker family and all the rest is a by the way.
Kara well done for another brilliant tale of the MC crowd, there are so many twists and turns to keep you enthralled as in the MC world you never know what is round the corner. When you least expect it she surprises you with a new twist.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The plot was good lots of action, I liked the characters.
Didn't feel connection, the characters were in love too quick and the plot was humour then serious, it was an MC read but didn't feel like one in the beginning, no build up getting to know the characters first before the action. I read it in confusion as the different characters interacted and what was said by both main and other characters.
Sorry not much help if you're looking to read,I like to give an honest review & I may need to read again.
This is a really great MC story that I couldn't get enough of and enjoyed every second of reading! Avery is a biker who has decided that it's time for him to finally settle down and has chosen Hope to be the one to do just that with. This is going to prove to be way easier said than done and I definitely enjoyed watching everything play out. I highly recommend this to anyone to read and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
I had a love hate relationship with this book but I couldn't put it down because I had to find the outcome! Avery is a biker from the Courage MC. Hope is a singer who's agent got her a gig singing at a party for the Courage crew. In just one night Hope's world has gone from amazing to crap! Hope looses her label, her house....EVERYTHING! Avery says he will help Hope but there's a catch........
Arc review For honest review. Avery is with a Mc that have tractors in their mix when holly was singing at a party for one of the guys she meets Avery he promises her the world only to get her tangled up in his mess. Avery has good intentions and hopes wishes change .I like how these characters fight to be together great story.
This is the second book in the Courage MC series, I was a fan of the first book so was looking forward to reading it....Avery is a great character as is Hope....there are twists and turns along the way and life threatening betrayals as well as unwavering loyalties....plus a couple of suprises.....I look forward to reading the next installment
Railed. I received this book as a ARC member in return for an honest review. This book was intense and dangerous. Hope got herself in a jam that took Avery to get her out. Avery wanted to show his friends /family how he can lead the group. But Avery found out that he was betrayed by family and had to fight to keep Hope and himself alive.
There is two books in one. Both were never ending. I have no idea why I kept reading. The first book was bad, the second book was a little better but not by much.
I started this book with high hopes. It was bad, so I put it down. Then I thought, "it was free so I'll push forward". I tried reading it two more times. This book is horrible.
And man oh man do they get into trouble! You can look forward to rival gangs, drug heists, kidnapping, murder, and a multitude of other crimes too numerous to mention. Romance is spread liberally throughout. Even bad boys can grow up.
I enjoyed reading Hope and Avery's story. This book is filled with drama, action and it keeps you on the edge if your seat. I hope to read more books written by Kara Hart.
This is Hope and Averys story. This is better written than the first book. I think she has finally found her comfort zone. Only hope the next book is heading in the right direction
