Skeleton Key Book Series
One Skeleton Key. Endless Adventures.

Two things happened ten years ago. First, the strange little boy next door vanished. Second, people stopped dying.

Brenna Engel has just been laid off her job as a crematorium worker. When she returns to her home to recuperate, an even worse tragedy strikes. In the moments immediately following, Brenna finds herself guided by the force of a magical key to the house next door--the same house that lay abandoned for twenty years following the boy's disappearance.

What she finds inside the house is the entryway to another world...a world with all the answers she needs. A world she can't escape from without the help of a strange man with glowing eyes.

Together, caught between life and death, Brenna and her guide embark on a quest to put right the wrong that occurred twenty years ago. But as their friendship grows, Brenna begins to worry about what will happen once she finds the doorway back to her world. Will her new love join her? Or will she be forced to lose him a second time?

I liked how unique The Death Seer is! I love the setting of this book; I won't say where because that would be a spoiler, but I really enjoyed the different type of areas the characters went to, and the interesting characters they come across! When Brenna was younger, she had a friend that lived next door, but one day that boy vanishes. Also in Brenna's world, people have stopped dying, they just go into comas with his/her heart still beating. This was quite a gruesome image! At least in my mind. Brenna has a job at a crematorium, but since many disagree with disposing of those in a coma, she loses her job, and moves back to the house she lived in as a child. The house next door draws Brenna's attention, and when she finds a skeleton key, she begins her journey into another world. The first introduction between Brenna and Kord was fun, and I eventually warmed up to Kord; a couple of things in the beginning weren't endearing him to me, but I ended up liking his character. I like Brenna's spunk, but I did want her to save herself a bit more; I felt she wasn't as strong as a character as I would have wanted. The story was entertaining and the writing was great! I would definitely be interested in more characters from the world presented in this book! I did want more from the ending though, it felt a bit abrupt, but as a whole it was super great!

When Brenna was little she would always play with Kord the boy next door until he just disappeared. Now 10 yrs layer she has gone home and things are starting to happen. She thinks she sees something next door and is freaked out and goes to the window to close it but can't and then she sees the skeleton key. She gets this feeling like she knows exactly where to use the key and when she goes thru she next expected to see her friend Kord. They must come together and set things right and hoping to get back to their world. Great story from the skeleton key series and can't wait to read the next one

Loved, loved, loved

I totally loved this Skeleton Key story. It is one of my favorites and I have read quite a few. It is only the second book of the standalone book series that got my attention from the very beginning. I also loved the cover and although I read other books before it, my eyes would ways go to the cover knowing it was calling to me. An unusual love story, an unusual place the key takes us to and a very happy ending. Loved it.

Totally blow away by this alternate view of the afterlife! Makes you really wish this version would be our reality. This amazing write captured the innocence and potential love between these main characters. Turning the pages was easy! The tale allowed you to flow along with these characters until reaching the solution to their tale. The actual outcome of father death....perfect! This is truly a must read! I obtained this copy through KU.

I absolutely loved this book. Brenna is a strong woman, trying to survive the death that's overtaken her world. She keeps remembering Kord, who disappeared ten years ago. Finding a key, reunites the young pair. This is a well written book, the story is wonderful. Unlike anything I have ever read.

The plot was original and intriguing but the book felt rushed. There were several spelling and grammatical errors and the brother’s name changed in the span of one chapter. Lots of potential, just didn’t quite live up to it.

Great story in series

The one thing I enjoy about the series is the fact that they are such a quick read. I also enjoy seeing which world the next story will stake too.
