With a voice like Deborah Ann's why would she not want the stardom she see other artists achieve? Only she finds out that there's more behind the stage that she did not see.
This book is about the relationship that a person has with God and allowing other things to be more important than HE. It deals with praise, belief, asking God what's right stead of living through societal pressure.
Deborah started in the church and with a strong spiritual foundation, she was able to keep her beliefs and values to get what she wanted.
No matter where we are we must give thanks to The Lord!

2. The voice actor Susan Spain is one of my favorite narrators, providing a 5 star performance.
3. This is the first book I read by Jacquelin Thomas, her writing style is simplistic and straightforward. The book explores the topics of secular temptations, faith lead abstinence, defining God given purpose or calling and domestic violence.
4. The main character Deborah Anne is a small-town girl raised in a close-knit Christian family in Georgia. Deborah Anne cultivated her singing gift in the church choir and dreamed of using her talent to achieve stardom. Eventually discovered with the help of a famous rapper and family acquaintance Triage Blue, Deborah Anne makes it to Los Angeles as a backup singer for a successful R&B singer.
5. Deborah Ann was surrounded by the temptations of sex, drugs, alcohol and other societal pressures, however, her spiritual foundation in Christ allowed her to remain true to faith. After the violent death of a close friend in the music industry, Deborah Anne reexamines her life and successfully negotiates a solo contract singing gospel music, thus opening an opportunity to spread God’s message of love through music.
6. I enjoyed this novel and look forward to reading additional novels by Jacquelin Thomas.
This was an awsome book. It told of a girl who was a strong christian growing up becase she grew up in it. Her father was a pastor who only wanted the best for her bacause she had an amazing singing voice. She took a shot at the big time when she was encouraged by her mother and younger cousin. She ended up becoming famous and moving to L.A. She was with a singing group of Lavelle, Phobe, and Emerald. Debroah Anne also becane great friends with this big time rapper that was on the same record label as her. They soon took things to a relationship level as they progressed over the years in music until he found out that she was a virgin. They still continued to stay together and then got married. Their families approved and Debroah switched over from r and b to gospel. Because after Phobe got shot by her ex-boyfiend and the last words she said, "was I didn't do right by god" made her want to change completely. She ended up losing her virginity by Traige in their wedding night and were redy to start their happy life together.
Like very much how the character used her God given gift for his glory and help influence her friends and family. I looked for a different outcome and was pleasantly surprised by the outcome.
