4 'Butterflies and Sex' Stars!

The blurb of this book really caught my attention and I was all over it when I saw it is written by Rachel Robinson. I loved Crazy Good so that made me have quite high expectations about this one. Let's just say, The Dom Games is pretty different from what I have read by this author but still I enjoyed it.
The Dom Games is a stand-alone novel and it tells the story of Dominic 'Dom' Reed (the wealthy creator of a very-famous TV show called The Dom Games who now will become the star of the new season) and Kayla Parchet (a sassy not-very-submissive woman who needs money for her master's degree, decides to cast for the TV show and finds herself in a emotional journey that she was not expecting).
"Ladies. Meet your Dom. Dominic Reed, founder, owner, and operator of The Dom Games and Reed Studios. Dominic, meet your harem."
This was definitely far from what I am used to. In other words, The Dom Games is different because it deals with a plot that introduces ten submissive women that have to win Dominic Reed's heart. This is not about one woman fighting for one man, this is about several women wanting the same man. It's obvious since the first time they see each other that Dom and Kayla have a special connection. They have a very strong and hot chemistry, of course, but they also go through a very emotional roller coaster.
"You want to come. [...] But I don't want you to come, because you're a fucking naughty girl, Kayla."
"Everything about you makes me want more. I want every tiny piece of you until there's nothing left."
I have to say I loved the scenes between these two. The sex is crazy hot and when the emotions get involved, it was even better! Also, this was unusual (coming from Robinson) because it has a romantic comedy feel to it. Kayla is obviously sassy and Dom secretly loves it! So, overall, the relationship between the main characters was pretty good for me.
Dominic Reed ruined me for the rest of the male population on planet Earth.
However, I have to say there was one aspect that stopped me from giving The Dom Games a higher rating: Dom's scenes with the other women in the program and how he reacts sometimes towards Kayla's feelings. I know it (kind of) was because of the TV show rules but I felt that he was betraying Kayla when he had scenes with the other participants. I especially hated Dominic when . I did not enjoy that at all. But, thank God, everything got better at the end!
You are a piece, the only piece of the puzzle of life that matters.
Therefore, my rating for The Dom Games is 4 STARS because I enjoyed almost everything about this book, especially the chemistry between the main characters and when they showed their feelings for each other. So, if you want to read a different love story with a dominant man and a sassy but sweet woman, check this one out!

I love Rachel Robinson's writing, she does the feels and angst so well and the blurb for this one had me intrigued! Alas, it wasn't all that I'd hoped. And I really wanted to like this more but I had a hard time connecting with the MCs.
Kayla Parchet was strong, smart and independent. Her innate nature just didn't work well for a submissive. It's not that submissives are weak but rather they want to surrender. Kayla's just not that type of girl. She's all about control. So why enter the Dom Games? For the money for her Harvard education. Can't hold that against the woman and I don't.
She's one of 10 submissives vying for the top spot as the Dom's submissive for life. The Dom for this season's games is none other than the creator and producer of the show, Dominic Reed.
Of course, Kayla begins to have feelings for Dominic, and he for her. This is where I couldn't make that leap. They certainly had chemistry but I just didn't feel the love connection. And Dominic just didn't work as an Alpha or a Dom for me. He was a contradiction of sorts...I won't give it away but this was not a pill that I could easily swallow.
Overall, the plot was an original twist on the ever popular relationship reality TV shows and it's well written with some serious sex scenes, drama, jealousy and angst.

It is not safety book. You just can read the blurb to figure out that it will not be an ordinary love story. Therefore, it is not for everyone, but it certainly is very exciting.
About the plot: Kayla Parchet is sassy and determined to succeed. She needs money for her master's degree, and grabs all the ideas. By this she ends up in TV show The Dom Games, where will have to compete with other submissive women for one dominant man and the money. The problem? She has no clue how to be a submissive. She really is the complete opposite. But that's exactly what attracts attention of Dominic Reed.
Dominic is a creator of famous TV show named The Dom Games and owner of Reed Studios. This season, he wants stand in front of the camera and find a submissive woman for himself. When he decides that Kayla will appear in the show, he is aware that there is no a submissive bone in her. But Kayla's inexperience excites him and he is certain that she will increase viewing rankings and diversify the show. But he can't predicted that Kayla get under his skin not only with sexual parts.
Final thoughts: I really like the idea for this story. It is exciting and thrilling. The content itself includes several things that guarantee the anxiety, gut-wrecking and confusing emotions. It's about sex show with one man and ten women, with whom he will be practice BDSM, after all . It must contains drama, jealousy and angst, and it does.
Most of the story revolves around a television show and debauchery happening there. The sexual tension is high, and the scenes are strongly erotic with plenty of BDSM. It was hot, but probably not for everyone, there are moments that can be highly sensitive and unacceptable. But this involves BDSM, so if you want to reach for it, you have to be ready for some disturbing events. My sinful mind is excited by it, and for me that are probably one of the best scenes in the story.
For me, above all, there is missing of developed feelings between the characters. Thus I had sometimes problems with the connection to the heroes. I would like to know more about them. And everything happens very quickly, so I had no opportunity to link more closely with them.
At the end of the book is more of romantic plot and I really enjoyed it. Therefore, in conclusion, I would give this book 3.5 stars. There were moments that I loved a lot and those in which I almost had enough. You can count on a hot moments and a lot of stormy feelings. It is erotic and wicked as you'd expect. And you'll probably curse the main character. I did!

Reading The Dom Games is like watching a reality TV show. Its addicting, has you wanting to cover your eyes while peeping through a gap in your fingers. Its heart poundingly good so much so it steals your breath and leaves you in a dizzy state. And it's SO GOOD that despite the twists and turns, the stabs to the gut and the heart breaking reality you keep on. Watching until the end, to see the finale. And then get really subdued when it's all over.
That's me now, subdued, because it's all over. I didn't want it to end.
The Dom Games had piqued my interest for a while now, seeing Rachel's book info and trailer had me thinking so many things before sitting down to read. Some may think this is just another BDSM book and not give it a chance. But do, because this book has such a fresh twist on BDSM, it's something I've not read before and it totally hooked me.
The Dom Games, feature Dominic Reed. Alpha, Dom, billionaire with a godlike body and mouth of sin with his own production company, who produces the TV show The Dom Games where 10 subs go against one another for a cash prize and a contract with the Dom. Enter Kayla, purely in it for the money, sarky mouthed, uncontrollable and totally unaware of what she's signed up for. Not something a Dom wants. But you see that's the beauty of this book. Because that's all our Dominic does want.
And so begins our trip into reality. Dom and Kayla's relationship builds intensely. As a reader I fell in love with them. Kayla's Sassy mouth left Dom weak, and Dom's dirty mouth left Kayla panting. It was a match made in bookworm heaven. But the blasted TV show still had to go on. Thus adding the heart pounding moments and the intense, breath taking moments that were just SO FREAKING GOOD. The moments that kept me hooked. The moments that cracked my heart but wouldn't allow me to step away. The moments that make a spectacular book even better.
Because that's what this book is, spectacular. Its exciting, electric. The heat between Dominic and Kayla is so strong it sizzles through you while reading. The sex scenes are so dirty, that I found myself BLUSHING, while fanning myself A LOT! But it's also cram packed full of feels..from rip roaring humour courtesy of Kayla's sassy attitude, to heartbreaking ugly cry moments from Kayla's inner monologue during the TV show scenes.
As a reader, I went though so many emotions in this book.. I didn't know whether to love Dom or hate him. Slap him or climb him. Scream at him or cry. Infact now I know I'd do all those things but OMG my love for this man is off the charts. Literally. Off them. His journey through this book was so powerful, written so pristinely that despite all the bad, there is so much good and understanding of the man behind the Dom. And that is what makes him amazing. And what makes him and Kayla a match made in reality TV show heaven.
And now, like I said, I want more from these two. I honestly love them...and I know you will too.

This book captured my attention from the blurb!
Kayla is a young woman who wants money in order to pay for school. Seeing no light from anywhere, she decides to participate in the Dom Games.
The Dom Games is a reality tv show that has taken the world by a storm. One Dom and several submissive women fighting for his attention.
Dominic is the one who made the Dom Games a reality. He is the man behind the camera and now it's his time to find the perfect submissive.
The moment Kayla makes her first appearence, he is at once taken by her sassy attitude and obvious inexperience in the world of BDSM.
Kayla is only in the show for the money and she is certainly not a submissive. What happens when her personality clashes with Dominic's desire for control?
I will be honest and say that the book has a very interesting premise. The idea is unique and original and the settings were gritty and captivating.
I had one main issue that prevented me from enjoying the book though. I couldn't connect with the characters. Kayla was a brazen young woman but her attitude put me off and I wasn't invested in her story. I couldn't connect with her and found her a bit childish at times. Her choice to become a submissive for the money when she wasn't one didn't sit well with me...Or rather, the way her decision was portrayed didn't sit well with me.
Dominic was rough and intimidating but again, I wanted something more because he didn't speak to me as a character despite the subplot that explained part of his character.
Overall, I liked the premise but the execution fell a bit flat for me.
It wasn't for me but it might be for you.

The Dom Games by Rachel Robinson
3.5 stars!!
Rachel Robinson is a new to me author and I have to say, when I saw the sign-ups for this book it was the concept that actually pulled me in to read. While I am not well versed in the BDSM world it was the thought of a “Big Brother” type reality show that coloured me intrigued.
This most definitely was Big Brother meets BDSM and while this concept makes for great, fun reading I don’t think I could ever watch it on TV. This is the reality show where a predominant Dom goes looking for a submissive. He starts with ten contestants and as the week’s progress, they get eliminated until there is only one winner. During the course of the show, there are “scenes” and “punishments scenes” that are all televised and as you can imagine there are cat fights galore and a whole heap of jealousy as these subs fight for the attention of the Dom.
Kayla however, was not a submissive in any way shape or form. In fact, she didn’t have a submissive bone in her body, but she wanted to get her Masters and the prize money from The Dom Games would be more than enough for her to continue her education. Researching the Dom/Sub relationships Kayla thinks that this is the answer to her prayers and so she enters and surprisingly enough gets picked to go on the live show. What she didn’t count on in her grand plan was falling head over heels in love with the Dom and the after effects of just her mere presence on the show.
Dominic was the mastermind behind The Dom Games, this was his baby and after going through a string of subs, he wants to find a forever one. From the moment he clapped eyes on Kayla’s entry video, she enamoured him. He knew that she wasn’t a submissive but the eye rolling and the sassiness called to him on a level that had been dormant for as long as he could remember. He was intrigued, Dominic may have just met his match.
I thoroughly enjoyed this read, it was one I couldn’t put down as I ran the gamut of emotions of Kayla’s experiences at the hands of The Dom Games. I laughed at her sassiness, I cried for her, but most of all I adored her. Kayla was one of those endearing characters that while she had no filter, you appreciated her honesty. With Kayla, what you saw is what you got and while she came across as having that brash, hard exterior, underneath that façade was a woman with a heart of gold who had been blindsided by love.
Dominic…man, I adored him then I hated him, then I adored him. Like Kayla, he had very much been blindsided but I had a hard time believing that someone that had been a dominant all his life could change so drastically, so quickly. I know that this is fiction and authors have artistic licence but I just felt that changes of heart were a bit rapid even though they were very much welcomed. However, the only knowledge of this lifestyle I have is from what I have read in novels so I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination. Please be aware that this does involve sex with multiple people, it is a BDSM reality show and all contestants get a fair shot, even if it did make me throw up a little in my mouth.
This for me was an entertaining read though, a means of escape and Rachel Robinson certainly delivered on that front. This book does play out like a reality show except you get all the behind the scenes nitty gritties that add that extra layer. The concept was fantastic and this certainly won’t be the last Rachel Robinson book I read. I really enjoyed it.

Dominic…man, I adored him then I hated him, then I adored him. Like Kayla, he had very much been blindsided but I had a hard time believing that someone that had been a dominant all his life could change so drastically, so quickly. I know that this is fiction and authors have artistic licence but I just felt that changes of heart were a bit rapid even though they were very much welcomed. However, the only knowledge of this lifestyle I have is from what I have read in novels so I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination. Please be aware that this does involve sex with multiple people, it is a BDSM reality show and all contestants get a fair shot, even if it did make me throw up a little in my mouth.

This for me was an entertaining read though, a means of escape and Rachel Robinson certainly delivered on that front. This book does play out like a reality show except you get all the behind the scenes nitty gritties that add that extra layer. The concept was fantastic and this certainly won’t be the last Rachel Robinson book I read. I really enjoyed it.

This shit was going on just so fucking swimmingly. Until it tanked. I’d forgotten until I got to that part...the reason why this couldn’t hold on to its 4 stars.
I really wish this was a series.
The whole key to his redemption, for me, was learning from the mistakes of her punishment with Jessy and of the orgy scene. That lesson, quite simply was...she could no longer share him cuz it caused her irreparable emotional harm.
This was great, angsty as fuck, all the way through to the orgy scene and it’s end. But after that? No.
After the h runs away from show, the H has a ménage with the last 2 contestants and while not graphic, he implies he can’t actually fuck them, that might be open to interpretation. I was on the road to seeing him redeemed because he couldn’t finish.
Then, Jessy, the one he fucked to punish the h, says in the confessional on the last show, after the ménage show, that the H says he loves her but she’s afraid he doesn’t love her like he does the h who left the show. Words fail me and THIS IS NEVER ADDRESSED BETWEEN H/h...and she WATCHED that episode.
The night the last episode airs, the H sees the h and BEGS her to take him back. She refuses. I didn’t feel like he got the damage he’d inflicted on her yet.
Months pass. She’s celibate, attending Harvard, and tries to date but can’t shake her infamy from the show. The H continues to call her daily, all of which go unanswered. I almost think he’s really trying to redeem himself...but then he fucks it all up for me. When she asks him if he’s been with OW’s since show end his answer just killed it for me. (Scene at end of review)
So much is rushed and pushed at the end, that the last 15% need another 20k words devoted to its plotting to round this out to a 4 or 5 star read. He also needed to be celibate after the show. We needed to see him really redeemed and understanding his actions. How the OW caused her untold emotional pain. Because the punishment scene with Jessy was just beyond the edge of my limits and because he fucks other sub OWs after show yet only plans vanilla for the h...I’m out, cuz we went from doormat to dream on. I feel the author has problems pulling all the threads together at the end of her novels, why such a shitty last 15%, cuz it’s happened for me with some of her other books.

I liked the aspect of this book. It's kinda hard to put into feelings because they were all there to either get a Dom or to win the money so I shouldn't have gotten upset when the H had scenes with the other women. There was one that I didn't think he should have taken to the extreme he did and I don't think I would have been able to forgive him for. The rest of the book was good and we got our HEA :)

The synopsis of The Dom Games reminds me of tv-shows like the bachelor. I don’t like to watch them, because all of the hurt feelings and jealousy. Still, this book intrigued me. Going in I knew I would feel angst and heartbreak and boy, I so did. However, I love this book, it makes me feel both happy and upset and everything in between.
All that stands between Kayla Parchet and her dream is a Harvard education. An education that costs a lot of money, money she doesn’t have. Knowing the very popular tv-series the Dom Games, and the prizes the contestants win, she signs up for the BDSM show. The only problem is that she isn’t a submissive, not even a little bit. And while her mind fully understands what she’s getting herself into, her heart is a different matter. Meeting Dominic changes the game for her.
Dominic Reed is a man in control, he knows what he wants and likes in his relations with women; he likes them submissive, suitable to his lifestyle. Having created The Dom Games and worked on the show a few years, this year he’s the Dom looking for a submissive. The Dom Games is a very well written book, like other books by Rachel Robinson. I love her way of writing and realistic feelings and reactions she gives to her characters. I can completely identify with Kayla; I felt all of her insecurities, jealousy and heartbreak. Throughout the book there were moments I wanted to strangle Dominic, but I also saw his confusion and inner struggles. The epilogue made me swoon, it made up for all the angst-y moments in the book.
I love The Dom Games and highly recommend it. I give the story of Dominic and Kayla 5 stars.

There are so many, SO many amazing books out there, we have TBRs with dozens if not hundreds of books on them, so to crack open a book, or as a blogger to agree to review a book, its an actual commitment, one I don't take lightly at all. I've never read a by Rachel Robinson before, but I read the blurb for this book and it just sounded like SO MUCH FUN! I don't even watch Reality TV but I think it totally was the idea of the reality TV show that totally hooked me. I read it and thought, "Ok this is gonna be awesome"
And it did not disappoint! I couldn't even put it down for the first like 65% of it! But then, against my will, I had to sleep. Surprisingly the book didn't just focus mainly on the show or the games itself it put most of the focus on the two main characters. Which I loved. Because as interesting as the story is with the other contestants, and the dynamics of the game, I just LOVED the chemistry and the dynamic between Dom & Kayla.
My critiques at all was that the book was a teensy bit predictable, and I also felt like the pacing slowed down quite a bit about 75% of the way through, I couldn't read it fast enough and then (to me) it just slowed down quite a bit. However, it was still really good and I thoroughly enjoyed it all of the way through.
It was a lighthearted, fun book, it will be a perfect naughty pool side read! ENJOY! I did! :)

Woah. Just woah. This was amazing. Heartbreaking, and at a few points funny.
The premise of this is taking the reality tv show like The Bachelor and giving it a BDSM spin. I'd watch it ;0) Anyway, Kayla is our girl who really just wants the money prize at the end. She has no clue about BDSM. She learns a lot quickly. She also falls in love with the Dom, Dom (cute, huh?) I felt Kayla's pain and heart ache through this. She hits on everything I always said about shows like The Bachelor...why would you put yourself thought watching someone you care about be with someone else? There's NO WAY I'd do that.
Dom really ticked me off in here. I'm not going to go into why cause it might spoil things, just know I wasn't happy with how he handled things towards the end of the show and how he handled things after. Thankfully, he fixed it. And I think he fixed it well, it just took him too long to do it LOL

Oh MAN, was this addicting! I couldn't take my eyes away. I've never read anything like this before. Rachel Robinson opened up my eyes to pretty damn fantastic world of kinky reality television. THE DOM GAMES had me blushing from head to toe. It had my heart pounding and my pulse racing. I devoured the thing like nobody's business! Fan's of The Bachelor and reality TV in general, be prepared for one hell of a KINKY and SEXY thrill ride! With a VERY unique premise and TONS of erotic scenes, THE DOM GAMES held my attention from beginning to end. If you are looking for male lead you can salivate over...look no further...Dominic will entrap you from the very beginning. Dominic and Kayla have a connection ON and OFF camera. Kayla is NOT READY for his world...she is not ready to be anyone's submissive. She is as stubborn as can be, but when she is in Dominic's crosshairs, will she listen to her head or follow her heart? When the camera's are off and there is no contract in sight, what will become of these two? The sexual chemistry and the electric connection flies off of every single page. By the end, I definitely wanted MORE!

Can't say that I really liked it or that I even appreciate the fact that it was released. This novel essentially makes a mockery out of the whole BDSM community and lifestyle.
The author essentially says that Dominic was a D because he wanted some control in his life and once he met Kayla he didn't need that anymore because she was his everything. Yeah, okay, that's not how it works and it's completely insulting to ever say such a thing.
Most D/s relationships are built on much better ground and they both NEED, with everything in their soul, to have this type of relationship. The author should of got a second opinion after she wrote this BULLSHIT, cause it's bullshit in it's purest form, because committing to release this joke of a novel. Shame on you!

I loved this book! It was such an original idea. You don't find something this unique anymore with all the books out there, but this book is. If the BDSM thing diverts you from reading this don't let it, because it is not bad at all, and only a small part of the book takes you there. This book goes way beyond that. The heroine (Kayla) has to be one of my absolute favorites. I. Loved. Her! She was such a feisty character, but her feistiness was essential to her and Dom's (hero) story. Don't you love the play on the name?
There is too much I could take away from the reader if I get into detail about this book but Rachel Robinson blew me away. I love her humor, and in this book like her others its right when you need it. And lets talk about angst, (which I love) there were some parts that were so upsetting to me but yet I understood why Rachel had to take us there. A certain scene I especially found myself getting really mad at Dom but then I had to remember the whole situation and why he did what he did. Yeah, I know I'm being vague but trust me you want to find out for yourself.
The first paragraph gets you from the start and I literally devoured the book in a day. I was messaging friends, telling them they need to read this when it comes out. The blurb is pretty clear...this book is a realty show about submissive's thrown in a house together and competing to win the affection/attention of the Dom. I loved this book! It was such an original idea. You don't find something this unique anymore with all the books out there, but this book is. If the BDSM thing diverts you from reading this don't let it, because it is not bad at all, and only a small part of the book takes you there. This book goes way beyond that. The heroine (Kayla) has to be one of my absolute favorites. I. Loved. Her! She was such a feisty character, but her feistiness was essential to her and Dom's (hero) story. Don't you love the play on the name?
There is too much I could take away from the reader if I get into detail about this book but Rachel Robinson blew me away. I love her humor, and in this book like her others its right when you need it. And lets talk about angst, (which I love) there were some parts that were so upsetting to me but yet I understood why Rachel had to take us there. A certain scene I especially found myself getting really mad at Dom but then I had to remember the whole situation and why he did what he did. Yeah, I know I'm being vague but trust me you want to find out for yourself.
The first paragraph gets you from the start and I literally devoured the book in a day. I was messaging friends, telling them they need to read this when it comes out. The blurb is pretty clear...this book is a realty show about submissive's thrown in a house together and competing to win the affection/attention of the Dom. In the end the winning sub wins ten million dollars. Well all our heroine wants is the money to pay for college but she must learn quickly how to play the role of the sub.

This was a very steamy read but it lacked growth, development, and personality between the two main characters. Both leads had zero personality and occasionally grated on my nerves and there was absolutely nada showing of development between them. I just missed the connection of them going from Dom and defiant sub to developing genuine feelings into actual love. It just, wasn't there for me. NONE at all.

Noteworthy experiences whilst reading this book (best parts, worst parts, quotes etc, personal opinions):
Forget The Bachelor, Love Island, Big Brother this is a different kind of reality series!!! Dominic Reed powerful alpha sex god and owner/producer of The Dom Games, a hit TV show where 10 submissive's fight for the top spot of becoming the Dom's sub for life. However, for this new season of The Dom, the Dom in question is none other than the creator himself.
Kayla has entered reality TV show The Dom to pay for her education, she's not a sub by nature, given up control is not in her make up. That's what made this book addictive, Kayla is sassy, independent, and doesn't have a clue really what is involved to be a sub on The Dom Games, and it shows through every challenge she's given, and that's what makes her unique and stands out, she's not weak, she's not willing, and this is what draws Dominic to her, but let's not forget whilst they are trying to build a relationship, they are also part of a TV series, so there are a few twists and turns, as well as sex, jealousy, angst and a little drama to keep the viewers on board and the ratings high.
Rachel is a new author for me, and I liked her writing style, it was easy to get into and the pace and flow was really good. It wasn't full on BDSM, but the coverage in this particular story was just enough. I really enjoyed reading The Dom Games, it's different to books out there at the moment, so it made a refreshing read.

I started out enjoying this book, and then about half way it just lost it for me.
It’s a different type of story with a Dom who runs his own film company and has a tv series around the Dom sub relationship, and BDSM life style. It’s a bit like a BDSM dating game. At first it was a bit of fun. Kayla is a struggling student and needs the cash, so her quick fix is to enter this dating competition. Even though it’s full on nudity and sex on national tv. She is warned but she knows better, then low and behold, she falls in lives and sees the errors of her ways. She’s no way submissive, doesn’t have a submissive bone in her body.
So what happens, the Dom falls in love with her, gives up his BDSM life style, turns vanilla and ups and marries her.
Then the final chapter, continues after the inevitable marriage, and continues on in the vanilla theme of raw sex, and lovie gushy stuff...sorry just so not for me.
I just found the Dina mics of the pair just totally wrong. How could a strong Dom just turn 360, so she’s now the forcing factor. I couldn’t even warm to the couple. She just got on my nerves.
It’s a shame as I thought I was going to enjoy this, and I’ve glossed over a lot of the book, but I just couldn’t get with it, as it just steered so far away from the title of the book. It’s a romantic love story with sex. None of the BDSM dinamics, infact at the end, the Dom suggests he never really knew how to care for a woman. I feeel the author missed the dinamics of a BDSM relationship. I know they all vary, but to trust someone to know you so well to push you to You boundaries and no further is knowing someone a whole lot better than just love. Only my opinion.

This book was immensely enjoyable. It ended up being one I started and read in one sitting (although I will admit I had to re-read the last 15% again because I was fighting sleep). But I just couldn't NOT finish it and actually sleep. The premise was completely unique and having been a fan of a few of the cable reality shows, it was really easy to picture the activities "on set" and no way to expect anything but fireworks.
What it has going for it is that our heroine, Kayla Parchet, is smart and sassy - and exactly the right WRONG type of girl for the show. She really had no business being a part of the "harem" but her spirit was one that left our tempted, he just couldn't resists the challenge. In Dominic Reed, we also have one of the most confounding hero's I've read of late. He really has a good heart and understanding of himself, that is until Kayla enters the picture. But lordy, did I want to throttle him a few times! He crossed the line more than once and fell out of favor with me, only to win it back relatively quickly. He simply had no idea how to deal with the new feelings he had.
The connection between them is electric and the story includes some very sexy intimate moments. It also includes incredible angst. I stopped mid scene to gripe about the first one to the friend who recommended this to me. Then even after I finished out the scene, I just couldn't get past it. After a break ( aka...a sip or 3 of some powerful libations), I still thought there was no going back to caring about Dom. But the author does a wonderful job with this part of the story, using it to drive change. So, that's all I can say about it. I will say don't relax too much. There's more drama, good and bad, all vehicles for Kayla and Dominic to learn about themselves. The story in it's entirety progresses at a good pace. I was so hooked and as I said, I couldn't put it down.
It's not a long book and I'm so impressed the author was able to create such an interesting story, with great characters, in less then 200 pages. 4. 5 Stars and recommendation!

Captivating. Intense. Twisted. Unique. Soul-destroying. Beautiful. These are only a few words to describe The Dom Games by Rachel Robinson. This book was all of this and more. It broke my heart on many occasions, but also made me feel sheer beauty.
The Dom Games, think the Bachelor with a twist on BSDM, is something I have never encountered before in a book. It’s extremely unique, hot as fuck, and in the end, shows us that no matter where your relationship might start, love does conquer all.
Kayla and Dominic are one of those couples whose passion bleeds from the pages. The fact that they are on a TV show blurs the lines for both of them. What is real, and what is solely for the ratings?
Now, let me tell you that this book will not go easy on you. It’s heartbreaking and maddening at times. There were multiple occasions I wanted to kick Dominic—shake some sense into him. But it’s not called the Dom GAMES for nothing. This book takes so many twist and turns it will leave your head spinning in the most wonderful way possible.
Yet, despite all their flaws, I fell in love with Kayla and Dominic. They both thought they knew what they get themselves into, only to fall flat on their faces when they realized they are both in way over their heads. Feelings come into play, making it all one big mess ending in heartbreak.
The Dom Games is a beautifully written story that grabs you from page one and doesn’t let go. And while it might seem like it, it’s not actually all about sex. It’s about two people finding love in the most unlikely place. They have obstacles to overcome, mostly their own insecurities and notions for their future. And while the story broke my heart, and made me unbelievably angry, it’s written in such a complex and well-written manner, I couldn’t help but love it. The characters are both perfect in their imperfections.
This book was very far out of my comfort zone, but it was worth it. It’s one that will stay with me for a while. If you’re in the mood for a unique story that’ll make you feel ALL the feels, then The Dom Games is the book for you!

This was my first read from this author an I am now a fan. The premise of the story intrigued me. It's a combination of The Bachelor and Fifty Shades...except our heroine in this story is no meek mouse. And I loved her!
Kayla Parchet is in need of funding to obtain her Masters so the easiest way to get her hands on that kind of money is to hope she's picked for The Doms Games. A hit reality show where a Dom tries out several women to find his perfect submissive. The problem is, Kayla is NOT submissive. She outspoken, brash, spunky and stubborn. She's PERFECT for reality TV.
Dominic Reed is a powerful man and his sexual preferences are highly publicized, but he's reached the point he want to find his "forever" sub. Being the Dom on the upcoming season of the show is his way of, hopefully, finding what he's looking for. He's intrigued by Kayla and her behavior. He sees her lack of tendency to be/act submissive and makes it his mission to "break" her. And that's where the entertainment comes in.
Both of these characters clash yet feel pulled to each other and they're both so strong willed. I loved seeing them together. Kayla's sassiness and sarcasm was awesome! Her quick whit kept Dominc and her competition on their toes. She truly was the star of the show.

The Dom Games is a reality television show where 10 submissive's compete for domination and prize money.
However, this season there is a twist, this time the owner of The Dom Games, Dominic Reed, is looking for his forever submissive.
Kayla submitted the contestant application along with an introduction video with her eye on one thing, the money. Desperate times call for desperate measures. She was accepted to Harvard, but with higher education comes a high price tag.
Too bad Kayla has no experience in the lifestyle of BDSM.
So how and why was she chosen?
She is bound and determined to not look a gift horse in the mouth and see it through.
All the research in the world could not prepare her for the world she had signed herself up for.
Dominic certainly has his hands full!
I LOVED this book! In regards to this type of subject matter, it is very hard to find a book of this type with its own unique spin. However, this book has it's own twist and you get more of an actual story, instead of scene after scene with no real character development that you might find in other books of this type.

This book was great! The author pulled me in, made me feel everything that Kayla felt, which wasn't always good. I would cut off some nuts if I had to go through what she did! Haha!
Kayla went into the Dom Games not know anything about the life other than the little she learned from online. She needed money and this was her means., she had no clue she would fall for Dom.
Dom, what can I say...he's loaded and sexy and THE Dominant. He knows how to satisfy a woman, but had no idea what he was in for when he met Kayla, she flipped his world upside down.
I found it hard to read some parts as I am a very jealous person and if I was Kayla I would've ran far away from the beginning. My stomach was in knots, I didn't think I could continue, the angst nearly killed me and at one point I literally threw my kindle. And yes all of the above mentioned emotions are GREAT! I loved the angst and every other minute of this book!

With Dominic in the role of the Dom looking for his little sub, and Kayla as one of the hopefuls (who is truly using the show for financial purposes), this was a super fun ride. From the beginning, we watch as Kayla "practices" with her not very dominant ex (and with that, we see just what type of sub Kayla is... or rather, isn't) -- she wants to win the game. She's independent, fierce, and wants to get into an Ivy League school. Besides, once the show is over... There's no love in a D/s relationship... right?
The writing was easy to follow, and I enjoyed getting to know both Dom and Kayla. I was lost in some parts, simply because it didn't hold my attention for long spans of time, but the overall story and the eventual romance was lovely and kept me turning the pages.

When I first read the blurb I was intrigued, a TV show with porn! I didn't really know what to expect when I started this book but I was taken on an emotional roller coaster and spat out at the end! I loved Kayla from the first page, she was so sassy, feisty and didn't have a submissive bone in her body! I don't think Dom knew what he was letting himself in for when he chose Kayla for the show. He knows she's not a true submissive but she gives him something he didn't know he needed. I found one of the scenes hard to read and I even ugly cried because I felt Kayla 's heart break. At times I didn't like Dom and didn't think he was being fair to Kayla, but he makes up for it in the end.
