With the same wicked humor USA Today bestselling author Jamie Lee Scott used to write her Gotcha Detective Agency mysteries, comes a whole new romantic comedy series, Dressing A Billionaire.
HELLO - Maisy Tucker, Texas born and bred, former "stylist to the stars" in sunny southern California, last seen living in her Jetta, wearing the same clothes for three days, and sporting an adult diaper.
Seen by, billionaire Hugo Popovits (a Duck Dynasty reject, wearing a graphic tee, board shorts, and camouflage Crocs) as Maisy's car dies in front on his at an intersection in Dallas.
Maisy needs a break, and a job.
Hugo needs a personal and wardrobe makeover.
Will a chance meeting give both Maisy and Hugo what they both need?
Or will it lead to a funny and unpredictable series of events that puts Maisy and Hugo at odds, while Maisy rebuilds her personal stylist career, and Hugo insists his “style” is just fine.
Books in this Series: Hello - Dressing a Billionaire #1 Style - Dressing a Billionaire #2 Mine - Dressing a Billionaire #3
There is very little that can be said as a negative with this book other than the fact it is fairly short… although not that that is unexpected as the author does make it very clear but what is not clear is the cliff hanger at the end…what the heck! This was a funny little read and yes I mean funny ha-ha not funny peculiar. Maisy was so funny and how she managed to keep her humour was what really drew me into the book. I mean she caught her boyfriend cheating on her but she refused to let it break her, she gathered up her things…one of them was most definitely not him and headed home. So she is back in Dallas and all set to forge a new path and set out on a career that can really take her places, she just needs the right clientele. And when it comes to having the right people clamouring for your business, Maisy hits the jackpot when she just happens to meet up with Hugo and Stella, they are certainly the sort of people who are going to get her noticed. Hugo and Stella might have a financial security that many of us can only dream of but they have so much more than that, Yes. they are wealthy but they are super funny. Hugo is happy in front of his screen, gaming and spending time in the virtual world, while Stella well leave nothing behind and that includes Hugo. There were numerous quirky but endearing moments, times when Hugo almost came across as being completely introverted but threw in just a splash of innuendo. I am so looking forward to the next book and I hope that there is not too long to wait.
Hello was so funny! Maisy is very relatable. She catches her boyfriend cheating and so she decides to head back home to Dallas - STAT! I mean no stopping for anything! She decides she's going to start her own styling business away from LA and happens to meet the very people who could make her career skyrocket!
Hugo & Stella are part of a very wealthy family and they could totally make Maisy's career. Plus they are just awesome and a funny family. Hugo is a total introvert gamer and Stella is so out there, she makes up for Hugo's introvertedness.
The only thing that bummed me out was that this was a cliffhanger. I wasn't expecting that. So I hope book 2 comes out soon!
Maisy is a riot and I could feel her pain and disappointment and anger at her boss and loser boyfriend but glad she left both behind to become her own boss. Who doesn't love an opportunity to dress up a billionaire? I love the way she rocked Hugo's world and the fact that she is no doormat is a plus. I also love the fact that they didn't jump into bed immediately with unnecessary sex scenes as fillers.....I got the pure romance and comedy I was looking for in this book. I wish Jamie Scott would write more romantic comedy. It deserves all the stars given ....wish the story was longer though.

What a day! Aspiring stylist, Maisy, walks in on her boyfriend and her boss getting busy on a desk. Traumatized, Maisy packs up and moves in her car from LA to Dallas. After her stinky three day drive, her car breaks down and she’s rescued by a homeless person. Check that. She’s rescued by billionaire Hugo Popovits who just looks like a homeless person. Can this be a lucky coincidence where Hugo obviously needs help and Maisy might just be the right person to provide it?
“‘Yes, your plans for me, for the gala.’
I stuffed a crepe in my mouth, to keep myself from blurting out what I wanted to say, which was, ‘Make you look fit for civilization.’
He waited, looking at me as I chewed. I’ve never been so self-conscious of my chewing in my life.
Before I could stop myself, I said, ‘Manscaping.’
Hugo’s eyes went wide. ‘Manscaping, huh?’
I blushed, and nearly choked. ‘No! Not that kind of manscaping.’ Involuntarily, I looked to his lap.
He put his hand over his crotch and laughed. ‘Well, then.’”
So many things I want to say. This story for me was a funny romance that took me by surprise. Maisy’s parents are a hoot with the mother charging her kids for everything. I agree with tough love but harsh! This book was a true slow burn with Hugo and Maisy – no jumping in bed and working it all out. I really enjoyed seeing the trust and friendship build between the Popovits twins and Maisy. The ending is a cliffhanger and I’m excited to see what happens next with Maisy, Hugo and the two creeps that screwed up her life.
If you like romantic comedies, you probably will enjoy this series. This is my first book I’ve read by Jamie Lee Scott and I’m happy to say it won’t be my last.
This was my first time reading anything written by Jamie Lee Scott. I've got to say I absoloutely loved Hello, what a wonderful book to start off a series. My only complaint with this book is that I need the other books in this series now! I cannot wait for the next installment to come out to see how the story of Maisy and Hugo's unfolds.
This book is full of engaging banter and humorous moments, that had me laughing out loud. I was hooked from a couple of pages in and read this book in one sitting.
I loved Maisy, what a character. She is incredibly endearing, likeable, believable and relateable. Now Hugo and Stella, the billionaire twins, what's not to like. The are intriguing and incredibly endearing. Complete opposites, the pair engage Maisy as their personal stylist, which leads to quite a few quirky moments.
The additional characters in this story really add to the depth of this romance. Maisy's family and friends are hilarious and entertaining and completely engaging.
I will be checking out other titles by Jamie Lee Scott, whilst i await the next installments of this series. I thoroughly recommend this 5 star romantic comedy.
I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
This is the first book I've read by Jamie Lee Scott. I love reading about Billionaires for some reason. Not sure if it's the lavish lifestyle or just a peak at what others perceive how the top 1% lives. This particular book, Hello, is the first meeting of a fashion stylist and a recluse Billionaire.
On first meeting he looked like Grisly Adams and she - well she looked like a homeless person living in her car. Great first impressions for sure. It's was just a chance meeting, but nothing ever after was by chance.
The characters in this book were either funny or annoying. Sometimes they were both. HA! It's like they couldn't decide which they wanted to be. I tell you one thing - Maisy's parents are the weirdest set of parents I've encountered in a book. I'm still shaking my head at them. Seriously - weird.
That being said if it wasn't for her weirdo parents this story would be void. They all but force her to see Hugo (Grisly Adams) again and thus setting the story in motion.
I am definitely looking forward to the second edition of this story. How quickly can I get my hands on it?
I was a little turned off at the beginning of the book when Maisy runs home to Texas after finding her boss and boyfriend together in the office. Not because of the sex, but because Maisy gave up so quickly and ran home. And to drive 3 days (straight through?) and arriving home in a filthy, stinky, unkempt mess. How could a stylist do that? It seemed so far off base that I almost quit reading. Good thing that I didn't, because I would have missed a fun book by a delightful author. Maisy seems to have a lot of bad luck, then a lot of good luck to end up with a new job withing days of arriving home-in spite of the fact that the people who hired her were the same ones who saw her at her worst when her car broke down on the road in Dallas. It is a fun and fantasy world for most of us, hired by billionaires to be their stylist. This is the first of at least three books, so be sure to read it and get ready for book two to be released late in August. Perfect escape from summer heat.
As Maisy Tucker packs her bags and heads back home to Dallas wearing the same clothes for 3 days and an adult diaper, her car dies and Hugo Popovits (a Duck Dynasty wanna be) helps saves the day. Little does Maisy know she's met the most eligible bachelor who also happens to be a Billionaire! She has a run in with his sister, Stella who gives her a chance at starting her career over in Dallas with one simple task. Give her brother Hugo Popovits a compete makeover in time for a major event. Can Maisy complete the task at hand? Is this her chance to rebuild her career? Can she be stylist to the stars finally? This book was funny and fashionable, I can't wait for book 2!!
Yes, I had to finish the book. It is funny and light and witty and romantic. just like you would expect from Jamie Lee Scott. Can't wait for Book 2 to be published in August. I've pre-ordered it and you will want to as well. Maisy Turner is a stylist for the stars in LA working for a high handed female who won't let her do it on her own but then has the audacity to sleep with her boyfriend. Oh Well! Maisy goes home and the fun really begins. Get the book, so you can enjoy it as I did. If you have read any of Ms. Scott's books, you will know it is worth it. I just ordered another two of one of her earlier series. She's great!
We are introduced to Maisy Tucker Stylist to the stars and our billionaire Hugo Popovits. Hugo is no your average billionaire, there are no designer suits, but more shorts and T-shirts. One needs a makeover and the other needs a job. This was such a fun and quick read. I did laugh out loud several times, but what was not funny was the cliffhanger. Its a great read and would recommend this book to all my RomCom fan. Reviewed for HeadTripping Books by Melissa.
Talk about awkward when taking measurements Hugo Jr. is like a jumping bean, “yeah, I wasn’t expecting that, either.” He looked down at his underwear. “We’ve been dormant, so I guess I’m a little sensitive . I should’ve had a tailor take the measurements. Sorry.” I loved this first installment and I'm looking forward for the next one.
4.5 Stars! Ok...I didn't know this was a series as in they would end in cliffhangers. But taken that way, I did like the romantic comedy. The slow burn between Maisy and Hugo really built in the first book and now I need to wait to see what happens next. What's cool is I'm truly looking forward to that. Full review coming on The Smut-Brarians.
I immediately fell in love with this dynamic, the "hobo" rich man and the "stylist for the stars" that "lives out of her car." Intrigued from the very first conflict, Ms Scott wove together a story that I cannot help but become completely smitten with. Left with a cliffhanger that I absolutely did not see coming, I wait with bated breath for the next installment!
I wish I could read all three books like right now. The humor was great. I cannot wait to see what happens between Maisy and Hugo. What bet did Hugo lose with his sister? I wonder. **** I was given an arc from Give Me Books Promotions in exchange for an honest review****
Hello: A Romantic Comedy is a totally fun novella that left me anxious for more! I loved the characters even if she did wine a lot a first; it fit her distressed situation.
Generally not my genre, but really like this author so decided to read it. Very enjoyable, but would have preferred the whole story in one rather than the serial pieces.
