Emily never expected to find love in a dart bar, but the moment she spots tall, sexy Sebastian, she’s determined to catch his eye.
Ex-girlfriends, perpetually shirtless rich boys, frantic best-friends and a mysterious orange handbag converge to stop her.
No one said stalking was easy, but if romance was left to the boys, the human race would die out while they logged fantasy football points and punched each other in the balls.
Everyone knows that.
Emily’s not stalking Sebastian...she’s saving the world.

Slightly Stalky is exactly what it's titled as, a Romantic Comedy. It's pretty much the adventure of how Emily and Sebastian become a couple. Emily is on a mission to get Sebastians attention and his love, but some of her methods might just cross a line. The romance in this book is very sweet an real, it's pretty much what most people experience in real life. There isn't anything too fantastical or really unbelievable about it, which really caught my attention. A lot of times in romance stories the romance itself is very Disney Happily Ever After, but you don't get that in Slightly Stalky. The comedy in this book is well done as well because a lot of it is just funny happenings that we do when we're around people we like. We get kinda awkward, sometimes trip over things and make an @ss outta ourselves, but it's funny nonetheless. Emily is also extremely funny, the way she see's love and how to get what she wants is just hilarious. I could easily see this as a movie or even a TV show. As I was reading I was totally casting actors into the parts.

I'd definitely recommend to my romance buddies, specially those who like some fun thrown in. This is a lighthearted read, so its a good change of pace for readers looking for something different.

This an adorable book! Our heroine wants to find love. But where to look? Her friend suggests a Dart Bar. Now, I have played darts many times over the years and I can agree that there can be a lot of 20 or 30 year old men, but there are also a lot of older men with beer guts, so beware if you plan to use this method to find love. And...they don't have great deal of patience for newbies. If you can't score on the board, you won't score very well with the guys. They will pat you on the head and send you to buy beers. So take the game seriously and practice. Which is what our heroine does. She begins to enjoy the game and meets a great guy. Unfortunately he is involved in a relationship with a girl who doesn't want to let go. Does our heroine throw in the towel and aim her darts at another board? Or does she fight for the man she wants who also wants her? You'll have to read this funny romance to find out.

Emily is tired of being alone; she also has a tendency of being a bit of a stalker, since her school days. She is looking for a man!

This concept reminded me of something - Sex and the City!!! And, this book is a funny as that TV series.

When Emily confides into her friends Kady and Joe that she is done with being alone, they suggest to that she takes up dart shooting. At “The Irish Rover” a good crowd of twenty-to-thirty-something-aged men came together regularly.

“… This is like man shopping, thought Emily. Like shopping at Wholes Dude….”

I liked that author Amy Vansant picked a this kind of interesting hobby for her plot. I have never read about dart playing in any book and liked that it was a new and fresh idea. Having played American Darts myself for a while, I enjoyed Vansant‘s excellent descriptions. Emily likes Sebastian, a handsome dart player, who seems to be the man she was waiting for. To her it is ‘connection at first sight’ at the very least and she cannot help but begin to “slightly stalk” him. The bad news is Sebastian has a girlfriend, Greta, who does not want to let go of him, the good news is, he wants out of that relationship and is also attracted to Emily.

But, as always things are not that easy. Factor in that Emily, who designs websites, meets handsome Mark, who seems to be the right man for all kinds of activities but not love and the reader can guess that as usual “things are complicated”. Amy Vansant does a fabulous job in keeping the plot suspenseful. I wondered for a long time, whether Emily would find the ‘right’ man.

I don’t know if this book is as funny for men as it is for women, I thought it was hilarious. Like most women I enjoy laughing about the troubles of dating. The scenes ring true.

“… Emily lay in bed, staring at the ceiling.
She’d ask Sebastian out, in the hopes of either jumpstarting a romance or nipping on in the bud… “ (LOL, how many of us have done this?)

“… Instead, Sebastian managed to turn her down and give her hope.
Don’t forget me.
Who says that?...”

Too many men. ‘Slightly Stalky: A Romantic Comedy Walks Into a Bar...’ is a hilarious funny romantic novel, which will entertain women, especially the one, who are dating or trying to date.

“… Emily felt like Mrs. Robinson, except Mark was her own age. Physically, anyway. He (Mark) had to know they had nothing in common…”

It’s charming, funny, and rings true in so many ways. Fans of ‘Sex and the City’ will truly enjoy reading this book; all other should read it to find out what they missed.

Slightly Stalky: A Romantic Comedy Walks Into a Bar... (Slightly #1)
by Amy Vansant

Emily and her best friend Kady love to play darts in their favorite sports bar. Then one day in walks Sebastian, tall good looking, he seems perfect. Emily can't take her eyes off him. So Emily decides to do something most young women wouldn't do, ask him out on a date. That is when the fun begins.

Emily is very likable, she is out spoken (sometimes too much for her own good), smart, snarky, independent an all around nice young lady. Kady is the perfect best friend, loyal and true to Emily. I really liked the strong bond Emily and Kady Had. I liked that Sebastian was a bit flawed, it made him "real".The story was original, filled with drama, quick wit and humor.

The things that Emily goes through, her thoughts and actions made me laugh many times. A fast paced fun laugh out loud romantic comedy not like any other story I have read. Those who love romantic/comedy with a lovable leading lady will enjoy Slightly Stalky: A Romantic Comedy Walks Into a Bar..., I recommend to those who want to curl up with a great, fun book. A pure delight!

Yes, I read through the entirety of this book. No, I don’t know why—curiosity I guess? There were so many faults with this book that it’s hard to single out a few to expound upon. The main character is a desperate woman who becomes obsessed with a cute guy in a bar and basically changes herself to be what she thinks he’ll be interested in—her hobbies, her hangouts, etc—just to place herself in his path in the hopes that he’ll notice her. It’s sad and childish and speaks to a very shallow niche of society.

The problems don’t end there though. The main male lead spends the majority of the book being weak-willed and wishy-washy. He’s already dating someone when he meets the main female lead and continues to live with his shallow ex-girlfriend all the while striking up a relationship with the new girl. It’s cringy and doesn’t speak highly of his character.

There’s a lot of manipulation going on in this book from a lot of the characters, and honestly, even though this was marketed as a romantic comedy… I didn’t see the comedy in it or much of the romance. The book left me feeling skeazy. I don’t recommend this book unless you’re into stories about broken people and their imperfect relationships.

Lightweight

A kind of silly novel about the romance between two people who pretty much have no morals or common sense. She stalks him, he's living with some pathetic woman that he doesn't like but he has no where to go. Everybody is cheating. It's all pretty offbeat. But if you're looking for a very lightweight read, you may enjoy the romp.

Refreshingly different, very funny, authentic feeling characters.
although it was frustrating how long they took to fully commit to each other

Emily's friend Kady talks her into going to darts night at the Irish pub in order to meet men. Emily is instantly attracted to Sebastian. Sebastian is also attracted to Emily, but he's stuck in a relationship with the buxom Greta. Emily has a history of being "slightly stalky" in her pursuit of men, and she is no different with Sebastian. As she tries to get closer to him, circumstances always seem to intervene. While Sebastian tries to fight off the desperately clingy Greta, Emily deals with the not-unwelcome advances from the gorgeous but inanely simple Mark. Will Emily and Sebastian ever get their timing right and end up together?

Slightly Stalky is a sweet romance as well as an extremely funny comedy of errors, told from both Emily's and Sebastian's points-of-view. The absurdly comical incidents had me laughing out loud. I especially enjoyed Sebastian's interactions with Greta's insane "blind" dog Binkers, Sebastian's hunt for a place to live, and Emily's dealings with Sebastian's family.

I look forward to reading the next installment in this series.

I received this book in return for an honest review.

What a gorgeous light-hearted story. So simple and natural was the telling, I could relate to Emily in many ways (from way back!). And funny! Crack-up humor at every turn. Emily and her best friend Kady were both adorable and cute. So we have dogs, cute chicks and hunky men. What more could we ask for in this romantic comedy of errors. I read it in two gulps! And now I need to go out and buy myself a darts set…

A Rom-Com book that will have you in stitches.

Emily has been single for a couple of years now and has decided to get back out in the dating game.  With a night out with her bestie she sees a handsome man in a bar playing darts.  She is so intrigued by him that she decides to take up playing darts in an effort to put her self in his path.  Stalker much!?!

Sebastian is in a dead-end relationship with his girlfriend of six months Greta.  He only lives with her because his roommate moved away and he became homeless.  He has suspected for a long time that she is cheating on him, but he has not even really cared to find out if his suspensions are correct.  So he coasts along and deals with her me, me, me attitude.  That is till he sees a pretty blonde in a bar during Dart Night.

Emily goes out of her way to gain the attention of Sebastian and he really likes her but he can't seem to make the necessary steps to get his own place so he can really start to date her.

This book was funny and irritating at the same time.  I loved the mix of craziness going on.  This book is a quirky, light-hearted and fast paced read.  The characters are loveable and very entertaining.  Emily is stalkerish, but cute and hilarious.  Sebastian is hot, but too soft-hearted to hurt anyone, yet almost too lazy to stand up for himself.

A book that some can relate too, as this is a very real like scenario.  Not your typical fairy tale happy ever after type of book.  Full of fun and romance this book is sure to make you smile and laugh with every page.  I highly recommend this PG-13 hot read for those who are looking to lift your spirit.

Meh ...

What started out as a really funny rom-com completely fizzled by the middle of the book.

I can handle Emily's penchant for stalking and taking on a new hobby/persona just to find a man. But the point where she was willing to strip naked in front of near strangers just to see if this desperate move might catch his attention, she lost my respect. Not that skinny dipping is a bad thing, just her thought process of the whole thing (I've never done this before and never thought I would, but hey, he's taking too long to notice me, so what the hell?) Then she tries to cajole him into not only starting a new relationship with her when he's not even single yet -- EVEN GOING TO THE POINT OF ASKING HIM TO MOVE IN WITH HER -- when literally the depth of their knowledge of each other consisted of drinking together in a bar and making out once ... it just smacked of "pathetic girl." The kind of girl that just gets used and dumped.

And what in the world did she see in Sebast-ee-enne ?? (yes, that's how the narrator pronounced his name. just ugh.) He was a guy with a meh job, spent way too much time in a bar, was living out of boxes, and didn't have the fortitude to break up with his needy girlfriend. The ONLY good quality he had was a little bit of integrity about wanting to end one relationship before beginning another, AND SHE TRIED TO BREAK HIM OF THAT, TOO!

The best part of this book was when she was hanging out with her girlfriends. They were hilarious, and exactly the type of girlfriends I'd pick.

Slightly Stalky by Amy Vansant
This wonderful book I found totally enjoyable. Emily owns a web design business and falls hard for a darts player. He too, fell for Emily but has a problem, he needs to find a new place to live, however his decidedly ex girlfriend will not let go of Sebastian.
Best friend Kady sees how happy Sebastian makes her buddy and together she and Emily gave me some side splitting laughs. They plan and plot on getting the ex to let go. Sebastian’s brother also wants the ex to let his brother be happy at last and is on Emily’s side!
My sister and I made a new discovery, (at our age!) While laughing madly it becomes impossible to read! You try it!
I dare you to read Slightly Stalky, with a straight face and no laughs. When you do laugh, try re-reading the line you just laughed at and test my theory. Your eyes squint making it hard to see anything, let alone read. Oh I so enjoyed this book and my hubby said while I laughed at the drs while reading a few people watched me, smiling and he had the feeling they wanted to know the name of the book so they could enjoy it too! Best part is, Amy Vansant has written other books and I have bought the next book Slightly Sweaty so I can read it too!
Slightly Stalky is a great book I’m glad I bought and this review is all my own.

>Book Review – Slightly Stalky
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 1st in the Slightly series and ends in a loose HEA. Emily decides to join a bar dart league to meet men. She is immediately attracted to Sebastian, who is dating Greta. The way Greta is described, self-centered, manipulating and using sex to get her way, I cannot figure out how Sebastian gets roped with her. He has a full time job. He has to move in with Greta instead of finding his own apartment? His actions don’t match his personality.
>Sebastian is unhappy with Greta, but refuses to do more than flirt with Emily until he makes a clean break with Greta. In the meantime, there is a huge source of humor in the man-hunk, Marc. He is ripped, gorgeous and dumb, but super lovable. The story is a quick, quirky read with a lot of humor and real life feelings.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the book 5 stars. I had a blast reading this story. It was an enjoyable escape.

Emily is looking for a boyfriend and her friend Kady suggest they go to play darts to a pub. Ther Emily mets Sebastian, a very handsome man, who is currently dating Greta. Emily decide to ask Sebastian in a date, after meeting in the pub a few times, because she feels a connection between them. Can they have a chance together if Sebastian is not longer in love with Greta but she keeps manipulating him to stay with her? Can Emily make Sebastian realise that the can have a future together? A very funny love story with some very laughable situations. I received a free copy of this book and I voluntarily reviewed it.

Slightly Stalky

Emily is kinda stalkerish when it comes to a guy. So when she sees Sebastian at a dart night at a pub she sets her eyes on him. Only problem her dating someone. Sebastian is dating Greta. Every time he tries to break it off with her something comes up and he doesn't have the heart to. Plus he's living with her. So when he meets Emily he's set his mind to it and breaks it off with Greta. Now all he has to do is find a place to live. Will Great give him up so easily and make it impossible for Emily? Great read.

Such a fun romantic comedy! I love Amy Vansant's humor; this book had me laughing out loud, albeit very quietly since the hubs was asleep. I didn't want to put this one down - the lovable characters were so awesome and lovable, and the annoying characters were called on their crap by the lovable characters... and toward the end you KNOW what's happening even though they don't, and it's so fun to watch them piece it together. Ahhhhh. This book was so fun and refreshing!

A bit of romance, a bunch of humor, and a lot of fun. I usually like my romance mixed with suspense or murder but I truly enjoyed this book. There were times I laughed out loud. How could I help it when it seemed like everyone was playing musical partners! That may not seem funny but the way things were happening it was hysterical.

I received an arc of this book and have voluntarily provided a review.

Funny Romcom ❤

I discovered this author by email and decided to take a chance on this series. I must admit I was not dissapointed. Emily and Sebastian are a very hilarious couple, even though sometimes it felt like the funny comments were a little overdue I really enjoyed it. I found myself laughing out loud at times.

The side characters were pretty cool too, that poor mean Greta got what she deserved lol. I'm jumping right away to the second book.

Gosh this was boring. The book was much longer than it needed to be and it wasn't even funny. Lead character: boring, annoying, desperate. Love interest: boring, weak, also annoying. Supporting characters: Ugh. Plot: predictable, I figured Joe was cheating when he was rolling the cigs and as soon as I found out Greta went by Max, it was a no brainer. I doubt I will read any of the other stories in this series.

SLIGHTLY STALKY - I always enjoy the funny, sometimes silly characters and story lines written by this author. Plenty of good characters and some laughs, even though some of the jokes were "pre-used". The stalky part wasn't by a deranged psycho but well done with how her stalking changed her life in many ways. He was a bit too weak but I understand how difficult it is to make a change and how easy it is to make excuses for some. Source: My Kindle library. 3*

Something Old ,Something New, Something Black.

It starts slow than steamrolls into a book you can't put down. A well written romance that's believable. Two women are having problems with their men. One wants out of a relationship and one wants in. It's a small town easy to find out everything about everybody.

This is a great book. I laughed so much my kids were laughing with me. The characters are so zany and fun to love. The characters and plot are so real life normal people things. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. It is a lite fun, easy and enjoyable story. The author captures the reader from start to finish. I can't wait to read more from this author. .

So Cute and Funny!
This is the first episode of a series. This is a very cute romantic comedy. There is a lot of talk about sex, but little action, I would give it a solid PG-13 rating. The basic story is fresh with enough reality tossed in to make it believable. I enjoy all of this author's books and am glad that I read this one. I am going to read book 2 in the series next.

Title drew me in, characters held me captive

This was a really fun, quick read. I couldn't put it down. Read it all in one go. I've already got book 2 loaded up. These characters were so fun and believable. There's always a crazy ex somewhere 😆 Almost make me want to break out the darts and give my own single life a chance... almost 😆

Ok

Reasonably funny storyline where the lead female character lurches from one disaster to another in her pursuit of a man. But this is a guy who is too lazy to move out of his ex-girlfriend's apartment, so really who would want to take him on?
