The Mating Game #3

A Grizzly Kind Of Love

Rate this book
Wynona Bennett, owner of The Mating Game, thinks everyone should find true love, so it goes against her instincts to arrange a mating of convenience. It's even worse when it’s for a spoiled socialite with a shopping list where her soul should be. But when powerful people resort to blackmail, she either has to make semi-feral Zane Shepherd into an eligible match, or find herself behind bars.

It’s going to take a miracle. He’s bad-mannered, bad-tempered…and bad for Wynona’s bruised, once-bitten-twice-shy-heart. But Zane isn’t all he seems – underneath that wild exterior beats the heart of a true gentleman.

Can they foil his family’s murderous plans and find happiness? They have some unlikely allies in the shape of a tiny dog with a big instinct for trouble and a grammar-Nazi assassin who deals in terminal punctuation.

Georgette St. Clair writes hot, sexy romances starring Alpha heroes. The road to love may be rocky and fraught with peril (and humor and scorchtastic sex and healthy heapings of snark), but her shifters will stop at nothing to claim the women they love.

Georgette has worn many hats in life: newspaper reporter, EMT, internet marketer, cocktail waitress, temp, nurse’s aide (not in chronological order).

When she’s not rescuing fur-babies, she spends her days in a fantasy universe where she nudges her smart-mouthed, take-no-gruff heroines onto paths which will set them on a collision course with true love.

Wow, a lot happened in this short shifter romance!

Random Ramblings:
•Loved Gillian’s straightforward and literal manner
•I don’t usually like older heroine/younger heroes but I enjoyed the previous two books so I gave this a go
•Oh my god…Tiffany!...there are no words to describe…
•I loved Terrence and Gillian

The second romance between Gillian and her man was actually adorable. Like wow, hot retired assassin werewolf who's also neurodivergent???? With an adorable neurodivergent ocelot shifter?????? He courts her by sending her first editions of classic books worth $$$$???? They meet each other for coffee???? He's got a dog rescue sanctuary too and is helping the main characters who he was assigned to assassinate by watching over them (and his new lady love) and foiling the villain's plans????

Man what a guy. If I saw him on the street I'd think he's hot. The minute he comes after my poor grammar, he'd go from a 10 to a -1. But it works for Gillian and THAT'S CUTE. They are not opposites attract. They are like terms!!!

Ok but the main couple of Wynona and Zane were great too. I've been wanting to read Wynona's romance, since she's the matchmaker who doesn't believe she has a mate.

If I saw Zane in the street I'd want to climb him like a tree so I am very happy for Wyn.

Adios 🌊

Meant to be

Who knew getting blackmailed could lead to your HEA! I absolutely loved these characters! They all have their own unique set of quirks that made them adorable and so easy to fall in love with. And I was completely captivated by the storyline. The author took the time to develop the locations and scenarios perfectly, keeping me entertained and on the edge of my seat throughout the book. I think this is my favorite book from the series and I can’t wait to see what the author writes next.

A Grizzly Kind of Love is the third book in The Mating Game series, and this time we get to see the owner of the Mating Agency find her match, however in an unusual way. This was a fun story filled with some mystery and great banter. I loved Zane and how purposely difficult he was being with Wynona just to get a rise out of her. The ending was sweet and this was just a great all round, feel good story. Absolutely recommended to paranormal romance fans!

Wynona has owned the Mating Game agency for the past 2 years and had multiple successes in finding others their mates. Just because her marriage went down in a ball of flames with the cheating lowlife didn't mean she couldn't make others happy. But it seems her ex isn't through ruining her life just yet. Seems he has put her signature on some documents to sell a beachfront swampland to some very snooty individuals who are now blackmailing her into civilizing their nephew and making him matable.

Zane is a feral bear shifter who was left alone in the woods for 15 years after his parents were killed during a family hunting trip. His Aunt and Uncle are wanting to marry him off for their gain to someone with a shopping list for a heart. A marriage of convenience. But first he must get through three weeks of etiquette courses with Wynona.

When Zane fights her every step of the way demanding a date for each new item he must master the sparks start to fly and the murder attempts on their lives only bring them closer. Can Zane and Wynona end up being each others perfect match? A feral bear and a interfering wolf?

I'm so glad that Wynona got a book. She was in both of the first two. I even like the little part they included about her manager and the assassin but am so glad that there isn't a whole book to them. Somehow a book of sarcasm going over their heads and correcting everyone's grammar seems more like a torture session than a romantic story. Older woman who meets an amazing man after a horrible relationship ends. What could be cuter. I hope you guys enjoy this book in the Mating Game series as much as I did.

Wynona's got problems... her ex-husband has fled the country leaving her on the hook for fraud charges. Her only way out is to give finishing lessons to the gruffest grizzly she's ever met so that his family can marry him off in a merger.

Zane doesn't care who his family decides he should marry until he meets the woman charged with shaving the wilderness off and turning him into a gentleman. Deciding to spend as much time with her as he can he begins a campaign of anti-wooing. He figures the rougher he is, the more time she'll have to spend smoothing him out.

All of their carefully laid plans go awry when bullets start flying, Sprinkles starts peeing on the furniture, and a grammarian hit man falls for Wynona's assistant.

Oh what fun! Match maker and wof shifter Wynona wonders if there's a chance she'll find love after her disasterous marriage and divorce. She gets no time to think about it before she's lackmailed into turning obnoxious, near feral bear shifter Zane into mating material for a superficial, insipid society shifter girl in only 3 weeks. Sparks fly, assassins attack and fur flys. Oh, and there's some hot sex.

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title. (Audible Membership)

Being blackmailed into teaching etiquette to a bear shifter isn't the way Wynona wanted to do business. However, thanks to her previous ex-husband, that's the hand she was dealt.
The bear shifter was a hunk and didn't deserve to be lumbered with the entitled and snobbish female his relatives were trying to tie him to.
Luckily, fate had other ideas.

I love Georgette St.Clair’s books. The characters are funny entertaining and I like the story lines also. If your looking at something fun to read pick up any of Georgette’s books you won't be disappointed.

I found the beginning of the book good, buy it went downhill. The main characters are interesting, but the story goes too fast in the romance for it to actually work organically. Add to that annoying side characters and I'm not really satisfied with the read.

Cheesy. Clichéd. Predictable. But I love Gillian as a character and of course, I'm a sucker for an all-round happy ending.

This was an easy listen. We get the usual Georgette's style of writing, which is funny, spicy, light, and entertaining. It was nice to see the legendary matchmaker get her happily ever after too, and her mate was a hoot, with his brooding, grumpy persona and all that he was secretly doing.
Great narration as well. Included on plus catalogue audible.

Setting: North Carolina, Tennessee
Genre: Shifter romance
Wynona is a wolf-shifter who owns The Mating Game, an agency that sets up shifters to meet and mate. She investigates potential clients to make sure they are financially sound and without criminal record. She never, ever takes on clients she thinks would be terrible mate material. But then she is told to take on the project of making Zane, a bear-shifter, acceptable to mate with Tiffany, another bear shifter. He has to mate within the year due to inheritance issues, and his aunt and uncle want him to mate for money to add to the clan coffers. Tiffany has a list of demands she wants Zane to meet before she says yes. The list of ( in some cases unreasonable) demands is misspelled and barely legible. She went to college, but not classes, and graduated "Summer cum loudly". Zane, on the other hand, dresses like a slob, is snappish, and eats with his hands. Naturally, Wynona refuses, but then the aunt and uncle blackmail her into agreeing. What follows is a comedy of manners, and growing attraction between the h/H. Both protagonists are well written; Gillian, Wynona's office manager, is a delightful dork; and even tertiary characters are memorable. Both dialogue and situations are amusing. An example of the quality of the writing is the different ways characters speak. Gillian is pretty punctilious about grammar, so she not only speaks correctly, but does so while correcting others' sentences. Wynona, on the other hand, speaks in the vernacular. St. Clair does an excellent job of differentiating characters this way. As far as action, there are sex scenes that, while explicit, aren't gross. There's a scene of violence, but it is described in generalities. The draw back of the book is the simplicity of the story. There's little tension, and the conflict is wrapped up too neatly. It wasn't so gripping that it kept me up past my bedtime.

I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved it and quite enjoyed it. I am a fan of this series and this one was sooo fun to read! Wynona is a hoot! She's awesome and she's having to take on this new assignment thanks to some blackmailing having to do with her ex-husband and someone he swindled and forged her signature with. She has to....turn a feral bear into a gentleman! She doesnt do this kind of work! She has 3 weeks to convert him and teach him to be a good mate to a spoiled socialite! She's not looking forward to it! Her literal assistant Gillian is hilarious without even trying. She is completely literal and that totally annoys people but although it frustrates Wynona she totally loves her. As far as her student Zane goes? Yeah, he's rude, uncouth, and can be abrasive. Or so she thinks! She even starts to like him. Takes her on motorcycle rides and fishing! She is supposed to spend time and train him but then she wonders who is teaching who! Turns out though Zane knows who his mate is already and its Wynona and not that crazy heifer with the ridiculous list! LOL. Great story loved it. Cant wait to see whats next. I know Gillian probably wont because she already met someonejust as literal as her! How GRAND! :)

hello let me tell you the emergency kit rules for these books the kit includes tissues, ice cream, a stress ball and sometimes on rare occasions pillow to scream in. in this book you'll need all of the above for this book.

if you read books 1 and 2 of the mating game then you know wynona and part of her story so i wont rehash it if you haven't read book 1 and 2 stop turn around and read them first you wont be sorry!

so this book takes you further into her past where she meets people she thought she would never have to deal with again they black mail her if you want to know with what read it lmao i wont ruin it then you meet zane who is hilarious she needs to make him presentable for a mating his cousin have chosen for him his mate has some requirements of her own and she writes them out to wynona and her secretaries displeasure along with the list she brings sprinkles a tiny dog who is a great judge of character so by some mishap sprinkles becomes the office pet if sprinkles growls at you just turn around and walk out if he likes you take a seat and prepared to get mated anyway due to some danger she and zane become closer and she learns more about zanes tragic past but can they have a future if she cant tell him about herself sit back grab this book and enjoy the ride!

Another wonderful ride along with Ms St Clair
If you like to be entertained while you read without having to put up with some of the silliness other authors write this book is for you.
We have known Wynona since book one of this series as she is the boss lady of The Mating Game dating agency (say that fast 3 times).
This time it is her turn to find her mate, albeit with some blackmail, threats and snobbery thrown in.
Loved Zane and had the notion from the first meeting that he was more than he seemed.
Fans of Ms St Clair will be buying this book no matter what as we know how good her books are but if you are new to Shifter romance you can do no better than reading her books.
Hope we see Sparkles in more of these books. What a cutie.
It was also great to see Gillian meet her mate Leander, what a couple. That was a lovely sideline to Wynona and Zane’s story.
This is my honest review of this book.

Funny and mystery shifter romance

Wanna Bennett runs matchmaking agency for shifters of all types. Her assistant is a control freak who uses prise English and organizes Wynona's business. She is being blackmail to getting this wild man-grizzly (Zane who is wealthy) ready to be civilized and mate worthy. She can't tell him because of a nondisclosure contract.

Someone is trying to kill her or him or both. They must find out who and why. Meanwhile, Zane will protect Wynona with his life. The characters are believable and hilarious. Plot has some twist and is fast-paced making Zane billionaire grizzly with a heart of gold.

I would recommend this book.

That match maker gets her bear

This book was awesome. I've always loved Wynona the owner of the Mating Game. She was in a pickle and had to make a guy presentable. One of her rules she's breaking because she always tell her clients to be themselves and honest. At first she believes Zane is a uncouth but mighty fine specimen. This book has an assassination, secret admirers, motorcycle ride, psychos escaping the asylum, greed, love, and two matches instead of one. Action backed but so good. Please I need another book.

After hooking up so many mates, Wynona finally gets her mate. Zane is a bear shifter and his Aunt and Uncle want her to make him into a respectable mate for a really horrible person that will help in their financial affairs. Zane knew from the moment he had met Wynona that she was his so he went along with the ruse acting like he had no manners. Things heat up when someone hired an assassin to kill her. Zane takes them to the backwoods of Tennessee to hide out with the shifters that had saved him after his parents were killed. All ends well in the end, great read!

Great story...even if needs editing some

A few of Georgette St Clair books that I have read have had one or two errors - nothing that destroys the story - just makes the Rader pause and think whAt was truly meant. In this book, for example, 44% into the story "Gillian" suddenly became the heroine to hop on the motor bike with the hunky alpha bear. but again, the author makes the characters wonderful and you fall I move with her stories even with the glitches that appear rarely.

I love Georgette St. Clair. Her books are always fantastic. This book is one you won't put down until it's finished. Wynona and Zane are a couple that just fit together. There story definitely will keep you entertained. Then you add the assistant and the assassin and believe me you have a winning story. Yes, I loved this story!
