Jerry Cole is a gay author who lives in California & enjoys writing love stories. Jerry has been writing fiction since he was a child. As a young adult, he worked as a freelance writer in the evenings & on weekends. Jerry started writing gay romance stories several years ago, but initially just for his own entertainment & occasionally sharing stories with his friends. In the summer of 2015 he published his first gay romance short story on Amazon. Overwhelmed by the positive response he decided to quit his “day job” & took up writing gay romance full time. When he’s not writing steamy M/M romance he enjoys globetrotting, watching movies with family and friends, working out, & being dragged down the road by his two Great Danes.
Lame, predictable plot and zero chemistry between the MCs.
One of the MCs is a cop; he's referred to as "the detective" over and over again just in case you forget.
The other MC is a wealthy businessman who owns several buildings and nightclubs; he's referred to as "the billionaire." Charming.
There's a vigilante "super hero" on the loose who leaves "tips" for the police. One guess as to who this "night watcher" is.
This is bi/GFY/as-long-as-my-cock's-involved. Dunno. Don't care. The sexual identity aspect wasn't explored at all.
I read a viking book by this author I liked, but this story was a serious snooze-fest. I admit I skimmed through a few chapters. Even the epilogue was uninspired.
I loved the cover...I loved the premise of the story from the blurb... but the story was quite the letdown! *headdesk*
It was boring... I have read few books that when I finished my first thought was, "Who are those two guys and how did they end up together?" but that was how this story was for me. There was practically NO chemistry between Devin (whiny butt detective) and Alex ("perfect" billionaire with a secret) which brings me to the whole "detective" "billionaire" pet name issue... ugh, it drove me crazy and pulled me out of the story big time! :(
Let me just say that I felt more emotion from Lucy and Emma than I did from Alex or Devin... which would make this an M/F or even possibly an F/F story instead of the genre that it was supposed to be... grrr
I, as a general rule, always give a story that doesn't work for me in any form 3-stars, (one for the author's time, one for the author's love that he or she puts into the work and one for effort that the author has put into the story) but in this case, I just couldn't bring myself to do it and frankly, when going through the reviews, I came across this https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... which left me with quite a few concerns.
I fear that this will be one author that I probably won't be reading in the future.
I almost pulled a DNF by 70% but skimmed through it to finish. One of the characters, Devin, was so whiny I couldn't stand him. There is a reason he couldn't get dates and in my opinion it had nothing to do with switching teams! I expected a little cheesiness and would have been okay with it, but the relationship was too much give on one side and take on the other, no balance. It made Alex quite the doormat and that is never attractive.
Devin, a police detective, meets Alex, a billionaire, when they're both attending a 'round robin' dating dinner. Since neither connected with any of the women there, it was only natural that they end up having drinks together...right? While Devin's life is consumed with his job he's currently involved with trying to apprehend those responsible for a drug being sold on the streets. Unfortunately he is stymied by a 'citizen helper' who dresses as a Ninja and helps the police. Alex is facing the possibility of an ex boyfriend taking his businesses and ruining his good name. Luckily Lucy, Devin's partner, is there to save the day...and with a little help from George we can only hope all ends well!
This had everything. Fun, funny, sexy, and some danger as well. I loved the characters. I did have Alex pegged pretty quick. He was very Bruce Wayneish. Luce and Emma were hilarious.
MM. Devin loves being a Detective, but finds himself recently stuck in a rut. Alex is super nice and not a stereotypical billionaire. Neither is looking for one another, but their meeting is fortuitous. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
„Night Watcher” is M/M Romance by Jerry Cole. It follows story about Detective Devin, a dedicated policeman and Alex, wealthy businessman. Those two met on a speed date night. Devin never expected to hit it off with the guy, although he was aware of his interest in men. They start dating and begin to built real relationship, but Detective can’t shake off the nagging feeling that Alex is too good to be true, and he’s no wrong, because Alex has a secret…
I can’t find enough words to describe how much I enjoyed this book. It was a romance with a bit of mystery and I loved every second of this story. It’s so engaging and intriguing. Both characters were awesome. Devin is dedicated to his job, but he really tries hard to make time for Alex and Alex is such a sweet guy I just wanted to hug him! All in all great story with eventful and absorbing plot.
Highly recommended!

First of all I would like to say I really enjoy reading Jerry Cole's books. However, I have to say that this is not my favorite story by this author; it was just okay. Usually, he is very detailed when it comes to scenes, but with this he misses the mark for me.
First of all, I really don't feel the chemistry/connection between Alex and Devin. It's more of a 'hey why not' type of start and goes from there in an unsteady way.
With that said, I was hoping that the author would pick up this story by being very detailed with the Solar Flare aspect. Unfortunately, he really doesn't do a lot with it nor is it very suspenseful. IMO, the whole Solar Flare aspect of the book sizzled out. Overall, I give this book 2.5 stars.
I really loved this book. It was sweet, but kinda sad how Alex and Devin met and just seemed to hit it off right away. Loved how busy the storyline was. It seemed like everything just kinda fell in line. Also enjoyed how there was some bad in the storyline so that not everything was happy go lucky for Alex and Devin.

The pacing of this story was great and the angst didn't overwhelm the romance! Loved Devin (although he was a little slow) and Alex was a dashing hero, although they alternately saved each other.
Jerry Cole, your stories are definitely maturing and for me this was your best work ever!
Lovely. I enjoyed it, Detective Connors is in love with a millionaire, named Alex, who just wants to help people out. I recommend you read it :) 5 stars for me *I received a free advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review*
The author does it again. An interesting premise sets the story. A detective who is good at his job but misses a clue about his boyfriend gives a good amount of angst.
When I first started reading this author, I think most of the books were just short little smut books basically. However lately it seems that he's been putting more thought into the characters and the stories behind them. I have thoroughly enjoyed this book.
It is a low-rent, M/M Batman story but the writing is poor and the characters are so poorly developed that by the end of the book you have no idea who they are or if they even have any chemistry together.
I really like Jerry Cole's stories. This book had some humor some intense moments good lead characters and fun friends . And just enough romance . I definitely recommend this book .
