This Is The Route Of Twisted Pain

Rate this book
Legends are born from moments like these. Folktales spun around a single point in time so perfect, you can almost hear the click resonating through the universe as things align.

George Bell, aka Twisted, knows the odds are against him. Have been all his life. Born in a Louisiana bordello, raised around the rough and rowdy men of a motorcycle club, he’s never been the lucky type. But he believes luck can change, so when fate gives him a glimpse of breathtaking beauty, he’s more than willing to roll the dice. Chancing upon what could be the woman of his dreams, he’s prepared to push this streak as far as he can.

Penny Dane’s background gives her an edge in the life she’s chosen to lead. Raised in a can-do family, she’s resilient, rolling with life’s punches and landing on her feet. But, when the past holds painful secrets—when a single misstep can turn deadly—can she trust the passion this man stirs in her?

On the surface, Bell and Penny don’t work. Their mismatched worlds are too different. But like a backwater bayou, what you see is not the whole story, there are mysteries buried underneath. Penny is the red-haired beauty caught up in a web of lies. Bell is like no one she’s ever met before. The problem is, he knows it.

This book is as dirty and badass as they come, with plenty of lines crossed, as well as an underlying realistic sadness. George had quite the upbringing, growing up with his Momma (and all the other ladies) who worked as a prostitute in a whore house. He got way more of an education than boys his age should ever be exposed to. Then George's grandfather takes him away to become a part of his Motorcycle Club and everything in this story got even better.

When George (AKA Twisted) and Penny discover each other, these two had chemistry that was off the charts. Twisted melted down into such an amazing and caring lover. Twisted was so rough around the edges, I never saw that coming. The sex between these two was phenomenal.

This story sucked me in from the very first page, and had so much action in it that it kept me entirely glued until the ending. This author is an amazing storyteller. She definitely has a gift of creating edgy stories and she isn't afraid to cross lines (even into territories that might make the reader uncomfortable) in her storytelling.

1.5 DNF Star
I DNF at 29%. The book started strongly but I really struggled with the style of writing / dialogue used. I think this is all on me , lots of really positive reviews and this author has a strong following. I thought the story of George (Twisted) Bell's background was well constructed and it clearly is pivotal to the rest of the book. I did not like reading about the way adults exploited him and there is clear sexual abuse of a minor (an adult male pays George's Mum / the boss of the bordello to make George watch him have sex with one of the prostitutes and he coaches George on sex. George is a teenager but underage ). It's also got quite a lot of quiet graphic violence on page (gunfights etc).
Sadly, I just didn't enjoy this book.

Review for This is the Route of Twisted Pain by MariaLisa deMora

This book.

I’ve sung the praises for MariaLisa deMora and the outstanding realism that she puts into her stories. She broke out into the MC romance world and nailed every single word she put to page with her Rebel Wayfarers MC series. I went into This is the Route of Twisted Pain expecting it to be good, but it went beyond that. The characters are dynamic — you love them and hate them, you root for them and hope they burn — they are truly heroes and villains, sometimes a little bit of both.

George Bell and Penny Dane. Twisted and Penny. Penny and her Bell. Bell and his Shiny Penny. Talk about getting under a person’s skin. We first met these characters in an awesome little novella titled Twisted Penny. (Haven’t read it? Have no fear, it’s included inside this novel. Already read it? Have no fear, you’re just going to get more of the phenomenal Twisted and Penny.) I was hooked from the first pages of Twisted Penny and desperate to know their whole story by the last page. I’m beyond thrilled that deMora decided to listen to the characters when they just demanded she tell their story.

I’m forever looking for heroines that can save themselves. Don’t get me wrong, I need a strong hero that can do some rescuing, but I want her to fight for herself. In this case, Penny not only fights for herself, but she fights for her man, too. She is the kind of chick you want in your corner. deMora knocked me on my butt with her character and then kept me down with Twisted. He’s a force to be reckoned with — part villain, part hero, all Twisted.

I went through such a broad range of emotions while reading this book. Snorting laughter to ugly tears. Hot and steamy to raging mad. No matter what was happening in the story at any given moment it was felt — totally and completely. Getting a book that gives you that all-encompassing, can’t put it down, want to live in that world feeling is the holy grail for a reader and this book has that.

“Thought about you all the fuckin’ time, beautiful. I can’t seem to lose this need for you. Under my skin, in my blood, can’t leave you behind no matter where I go. Ain’t no replacin’ you, won’t even start to try.”

You have to read this book. It’s a little dark and twisty and a whole lot of sexy. Five Plus Stars and Five Wet Panties.

Review:
“‘Penny.’ He tried out the name, liking how it fit in his mouth. Locating the hem of her shirt and pulling it up, he watched as she arched her back, titties begging for his mouth. Finding a pleasant surprise underneath, he brought the fabric over her head and tossed it to the carpeting. ‘Mmmm, my shiny Penny.’”

5 twisted painful stars!!! Holy hll, that was one twisted sexy book!!!

Twisted…. Oh God, I think I have a new boyfriend!!! He’s dirty hot and he makes no apologies for who he is. Growing up in a bordello and watching your mom have sex with men will do that to you. I mean there’s not much to hate about that man, at least for me anyway! Penny is the complete opposite, but somehow these two work together, in a world where these two should never be together. I promise you, when these two finally come together, it’s so dirty, dirty hot!! I’m still over here panting over it!! This is the first book I’ve read by this author, but I know I will be reading more after this book!

Even though I'm rating this 4 stars the writing wasn't particularly for me. It was choppy and with the time jumps left plot holes to be honest, but it was a good story. I couldn't help but love Bell aka Twisted. His upbringing was rough and no kid should have been around the thing's he was. He had to grow up much too fast. I'll put the safety and triggers at the end. Penny the FMC unfortunately just wasn't fleshed out enough. I wanted more information about her. This book has a romance aspect to it yes, but it's more heavily focused on the MC lifestyle. I would put these guys as 1%ers. There's a lot of violence, and loss of characters you meet at the beginning. Overall I enjoyed it. Even though the writing gave me a slight headache 😆. It's real and it's raw. That's how I'd describe it. But Twisted was seriously yummy when he and Penny became an item.

Safety: Sexual abuse of a minor. George Bell aka Twisted grew up in a whorehouse where his mother was a prostitute. Wasn't a nice place. George was made to watch a man named Grover have sex with women because this Grover character paid to have him there. Wanting to teach George even though he was only 13. Grover asked for younger, but George was the only kid living there. You get the point. This continued on until he was 16 where George was made to participate in threesomes with Grover. Before 16 he was made to masturbate during these scene's while Grover watched him. But here's the thing. Grover had a thing for kids and especially George. The owner of this whorehouse was basically selling him to spend time with Grover. George's grandfather showed up just in time to take him away. Without George's knowledge, the owner of the whorehouse was auctioning off George's backside to the highest bidder. The whole thing was explicit and was uncomfortable as hell.

Now about the series. I'm skeptical to continue only because the next two book's are MMF. They are not my thing. To be honest I detest them. And here's why. It's never equal partnership. The relationship always seems to be stronger between the two males and the female is always left as an afterthought. I've yet to read a book that get's it right. From reading some of the reviews it does seem like Po'Boy and Wrench's relationship will be the main plot. Which would make sense since they're biker's and spending more time together. Why not just stick to MM? I don't understand the reasoning of throwing in a chick who most of the time is used as an ice breaker for whichever guy's bi awakening, or just to throw a female character in that brings nothing to the story other than an afterthought or incubator. I know I'm harsh. MMF books I've read in the past have unfortunately given me this opinion. It's annoying to be honest. These are my opinions and my opinions only of course. I'll probably end up reading only to get to future characters, but I'm not at all excited about the next two books.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Having read the first five books of deMora’s Rebel Wayfarers MC series (an oversight I will be rectifying as soon as I can), I jumped at the chance to review This Is the Route of Twisted Pain. And while I didn’t get a third of my “to-do” list done today, I’m not the least bit upset because the author not only sucked me into Bell and Penny’s world, she made the visit well worth it.

Utilizing the writing style I became accustomed to in the Rebel Wayfarers MC series, the author begins the book with a look at Georgie at age seven and then proceeds to highlight the major events of his life as he transitions from Georgie to George to Bell to Twisted, until he finally takes his place as the president of the Incoherent Motorcycle Club. Along the way, we also get to see important events in Ralph’s life (Po’Boy) and Penny’s life (Princess) – the events that paved the way for them to be and become the most important people in Twisted’s life. People he was willing to die for and who were willing to do the same for him. Which is good because in between the tender moments shared by Bell and Penny, there are some gritty and hardcore scenes as Twisted, Po’Boy, and the rest of Incoherent take care of business. Business that, on more than one occasion, had me worried that one of the characters I had connected with, wasn’t going to make it out alive – and sadly, this did occur. By the end of the book, it’s clear that Twisted and Penny were meant for each other, but what’s not clear is how much danger still hangs over their heads because of still looming threats. And I have to add that I was quite tickled by the final scene – Po’Boy’s eavesdropping was very entertaining.

I enjoyed the ever-loving-heck out of This Is the Route of Twisted Pain. The author’s books that I’ve read are what I call journey books, because she takes the reader on a journey through her characters’ lives. As I spend time with them, getting to know them, it allows me to better connect with the character, and I find myself fully invested in their story. This makes for a far richer reading experience, which I enjoy immensely – hence my incomplete “to-do” list. There is something I noticed that I feel compelled to comment on, mainly because I’ve read and discussed too many books as of late in which the author failed to give their characters their own voices. When Bell is with Penny and thinking about her body, he uses an interesting combination of terms that I felt reflected him being raised in the brothel and later his reaching adulthood with the brothers of Incoherent, giving him what I felt was both a feminine and masculine vocabulary. Sadly, I cannot use the actual terms to better explain what I mean and have my review actually appear, but I liked how his language reflected both sides of his upbringing and made his voice unique from the other characters. Then again, deMora’s characters always feel different from one another and appropriate to the pasts she’s created for them, I just found Bell’s character to be an even more interesting amalgamation of his background than I would have expected from the president of a motorcycle club. This Is the Route of Twisted Pain was an excellent book to jump start the Neither This, Nor That series with and I cannot wait for the release of its sequel.

WOW! This is the Route of Twisted Pain has introduced new characters that I absolutely love. Incoherent MC has now been added to my FAVORITES bikers list. I didn't think I could love any bikers as much as I do my Rebels, but these guys are up there.

George Bell aka Twisted was such an great character. His life wasn't easy, but every hardship was a learning curve. He made the most of his youth until he was brought into the life of the Incoherent MC. That's when he learned about family and brotherhood. He was made for that life and was such an honorable guy. He did what needed to be done for his club, no matter what. He was intelligent, even at a young age. Knew how to think things through. I totally admired this guy.

Penny Dane was raised in the club life. She knew the rules and respected them. Raised under then "Princess" title, she was everyone's little girl and treasured by her uncle's club. But being Princess doesn't mean she's too delicate to handle what's needed. She proves that she's willing to do whatever it takes, no matter the sacrifice. She's a flower with thorns, for sure.

When fate stepped in and brought these two together, it was amazing. Their first scene was hot, sexy, sensual, intimidate...did I say hot?? Warning: don't read this at work, like I did. I got all hot and bothered and couldn't do anything about it. I just couldn't stop reading.

I don't know how MariaLisa deMora does it, but she manages to tell an entire life story before getting to a quarter of the book. It's an absolute gift. By then, you know and love the character before the good stuff even hits the pages. I'm invested early on and feel like I've lived their lives right along side them without feeling like the story has been dragged out. She knows have to deliver the important stuff and get you to the meat of the story.

I loved this book and the characters so much. I can't wait for more of the Incoherent MC. I'm hoping Po'Boy is next.

George 'Twisted' Bell hasn't had the best turn of luck in life. Born to a whore and raised in a brothel, the things he has seen - and done, would crush a lesser being. Removed from that arena in his teens and thrown into the MC world by his grandfather is when he really started to flourish.

Penny Dane has had everything shes loved -minus her livelihood, taken away from her. Vengeance became the blood that flowed through her.

A chance meeting in a dingy truck stop parking lot sets the wheels in motion for Twisted and Penny. Fates clash for a night of tremendous passion and pave out an unconventional love.

This is my confession: There are a lot of things that I could say about this book: The plot? Exceptional. The sex? Some of the best I've ever read. The characters? Impressive. This Is The Route Of Twisted Pain has every ingredient of a great book but you know what REALLY makes this an extraordinary book? The words. MariaLisa deMora has an uncanny talent for evoking your senses with words. You feel every. single. one. You can see yourself sitting in the corner wanting to comfort a small Georgie as he hides in the bordello. You can feel the eroticism permeate the bunk of a tractor trailer. You can smell the fear and unfailing spirit of Penny as she faces her nemesis. But as usual, don't just take my word for it. Read this book for yourself and you'll see what I mean.

This story was incredible. These characters will grab you and pull you in and won’t let go. The storyline was phenomenal. I love the direction the story took. Twisted is an awesome character. I love everything about him. He is my dream man. HOT, protective, lust inducing, dirty talking, tattooed man. Penny is my new favorite female character from this author. My god that woman is tough. She has her sweet, soft side. But she has a fierce determination about her. She won’t be pushed to the side like a frail woman. She is all in, b*lls to the wall. This story has it all. Enough drama to keep you hooked, enough spice to light you up, and an incredible amount of emotion that just seems to pour off the pages. I fell in love with Twisted, Penny, and Po’Boy immediately and I know you will too. This book will take you on a ride you won’t ever want to end.

4.5 star

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, twists & turns, secrets, and heartbreak.

This is Penny and Bell aka Twisted’s story. Penny and Bell are completely different. But together they are twisted in their own way. Both come from different backgrounds. Both have secrets. But the pull they have for each other is a strong bond that is unbreakable. It might get twisted and bent but not break. With all the secrets and danger of their pasts can they work on a future together? He is rough and rowdy and she rolls with the punches. But will his life just be too much for her to accept? Or will danger make sure they have no life together?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

This book quickly drew me in and kept me reading until I turned the last page - I couldn’t put it down. The author easily brings the reader in to the story so the reader feels a part of the story. The characters are complex and believable. They had me laughing, crying, and feeling a wide range of emotions. The story and characters have me wanting more. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I think I may be one of the few lucky readers to receive a first copy of this book from MdM, so I count myself very fortunate to have the first sneak peek at this new book!

With that being said, it was a great read with some interesting and colorful characters. George Bell aka Twisted couldn't have been more perfect! His upbringing made me cringe just a tad, learning sexual techniques at the tender age of 13 is just so sad, at that age he shouldn't be watching adults have sex but I guess that's the life you live when your mum is a whore. Thanks to his granddaddy who took him in and showed him how to be man, how to trust and be loyal. He took those lessons to heart. He became what he became due to a very sad loss but he filled those shoes proudly and perfectly. A born leader he was!

There was some confusion with the chapters on Princess, I has no idea who the hell this chick was but I just had to keep reading to see how MdM brings everything together quite nicely, so don't despair readers everything will get explained.

Penny..wow I loved her character! She was tough and independent, despite what she went through, she wasn't a doormat, she held her own! I love female leads like her, plus I love that she was a trucker, not some simpering ole lady waiting at home for her man to tell her what to do. Quite simply put, Twisted and Penny were perfect for each other.

There were some things that confused me but that's mainly the timing of events. It's hard to tell when what happened, like the events that happen in chapter 15 are after the events in chapter 16, but MdM only provides the names of the character in that particular chapter not the timing, makes for a bit of confusion. I would prefer to know this event happened 24 hours ago, etc. Also the whole insta-love scenario, yikes, I really dislike those. I know things like that probably do happen to people, but there's nothing wrong with just meeting someone and liking them for a while, falling in love after two meets is so strange to me.

Overall it was a very enjoyable read, very engaging with lots going on! Great start to a new promising series.

This was a re read and all stays the same. Firstly, I was really looking forward to this series because I asked MariaLisa if there was going to be a book about Retro whom we met in Hoss's story (he's Hoss's brother) and she directed me to this series.
Well what can I say that I haven't already said about one of my new favourite author's. All the greatness in her style of writing is of course present in this series. This series is a wee bit grittier than the Rebel Wayfarer's and that's not a bad thing in my opinion. We get to know Twisted from childhood to adulthood.
This series is full of great characters and storylines. Twisted and Penny (more magic). Po'Boy had me laughing at times. Love Twisted's personality and the internal dialogue we get. He's intelligent and loving but he can be brutal when needed. Penny is an awesome heroine. She's a very strong woman and has got more balls than most men....lol. Retro is a part of this story but I'm hoping that we get more of him. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Just finished The is the Route of Twisted Pain and I just loved it! We know a little of Penny and Bell b/c of a novella (Twisted Penny) and we get so much more of them in this story.
I was pulled in from the get go. Once again, the world that DeMora has created is one I would love to be apart of. I'm an MC reader, I've read a lot that's for sure, and I can tell you that she really knows her stuff. Do not expect rainbows and uniforms, expect all the grittiness that comes with a real good mc story

Penny and Bell have an undeniable chemistry that will make you envious! They have so much depth and so versatile. The secondary characters brought a lot to this world too

I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Story 5
Sex 5
Overall 5

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This is a wild, gritty ride and I loved every moment of it. I was hooked from the first page and madly in love with ‘Twisted’ George Bell by the end of the first chapter. Born to a whore in a bordello, Twisted survives a brutal childhood before joining his grandfather’s MC.

This is as much the story of Twisted’s life as it is a romance. His relationship with his mother and grandfather. His unshakeable friendship with Po’Boy that takes the two men from childhood to leadership of their MC. The bloody, harsh world of MC politics. His delicate navigation through a world of brothers, allies and traitors. Twisted’s life is harsh and often ugly. He has his own moral code and I love the way the author immerses readers in his world.

There is romance in this story. Twisted needs a woman strong enough to hold her own against him, his brothers and their enemies. Raised in an allied biker club, trucker Penny is willing to sacrifice herself for family and she’s strong enough to earn the club’s respect and to be patched in on her own merit. When Twisted meets her, she is beautiful, clever and recovering from a horrific ordeal. I loved the connection between Twisted and Penny. It is a cerebral as it is sensual. They feel like partners from the moment they meet and Penny makes Twisted and his brothers stronger.

I devoured this story in a single afternoon and fell in love with a new to me author before I’d finished this first book. I love the characters, I love Twisted’s world and I can’t wait for the next book.

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

This is my first read by this author and I was not disappointed.

I really liked the beginning where you get a sense of why Twisted is like he is. His past is what made him into the man he is. I was so invested in the story line and the characters. The secrets that were kept, the twists and turns, and the suspense kept me rooted to my seat until I got to the end.

Penny and Twisted meet at a truck stop. Penny isn't naive in the ways of life, she's tough, and she can hold her own. The connection between them is immediate and seriously page burning hot.

The author gives this world life. I haven't read previous books but I will make it a mission to go back and read the others! I can't wait to see what's next.

This is the first book of a new series for this author and one I have been wanting to read. In this book we see a lot of backstory at the beginning which sets the scene nicely and to which we find out how and why Twisted is the way he is. The story is edgy and gritty and will take you on one hell of a ride. The journey isn’t smooth as it’s packed full for twists and turns, heartbreak, friendship, brotherhood and love. I loved the story and the characters and can’t want wait to read book two.

I volunteered to read a copy of this story for an honest review.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I will be reading more. It took me a bit to get into this story. I liked the characters. Penny was my favorite of the two main characters. I felt sorry for the childhood George had. I look forward to reading the 2nd book in Neither This, Nor That series.

I am slowly becoming more interested in MC books, this one is good!

Fantastic!!! This story drew me in from the very beginning and held me on the edge to the very end. MariaLisa deMora did a great job setting the tone from the very beginning. Penny and Bell couldn't be more different from each other, or more perfect for each other! Penny was raised as the beloved princess by her family, real and extended. Bell, a.k.a Twisted, was raised in a brothel, with all that entails. Their meeting was chance, and the best thing that could have happened to either of them. Especially Twisted, since he finally gets to see that not everything in his life has to be twisted or full of pain! Penny was on of the best heroines I've ever met. She was absolutely fearless!!!

I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Po'Boys story should be just as riveting.

First off, let me state that there was one thing I didn't like about this book and that is the LAST PAGE! I hated for it to end. I dearly loved this book and its characters as well as their setting.

That said: George Bell, aka Twisted; what a man. I LOVE Mason (Rebel Wayfarers MC, #6) and now with Twisted we have a whole new man full of MC branded integrity and strength. In a few ways he makes me think of Mason.....but he is definitely not Mason. In other words; we are no longer in Kansas Toto. With the Incoherent Motorcycle Club everything is new again. I’m thoroughly excited about this book and further books in this series!

George's upbringing is utterly heartrending. How he becomes the man he does is almost a miracle. Along with his best buddy Ralph (Po’Boy) they start out rather thuggish and over time (and beating up other bad boys) become true brothers. When Paw Paw (George's Granddad) takes a budding bordello whore (George) under his wing and care, I cheered. Paw Paw......what a fantastic character. He was so many of my favorite MC guys put together.....a true leader of men. I loved Paw Paw. (sob). Thank you MariaLisa deMora for giving us Paw Paw. I have a feeling that George (Twisted) will grow into his own version of 'Paw Paw'.

Penny, for her part, is a wonderful young woman. She’s street savvy and so very snarky in deed and speech. I love strong yet vulnerable women. She was made for Twisted (George). Her upbringing was completely conducive to MC life. Her sense of loyalty to those she cares about rivals that of how a MC bands together in their quest of brotherhood. What she and 'Bell' (George/Twisted) found together was fun to read. Their intensity and depth of emotions were plainly written but with prose to win over the most skeptical of romance readers. Yes; this hard hitting story has an undertone of romance running through it. Once they meet both George and Penny know they found 'it' - no games - no assumptions - just a couple magnets that can't stay unstuck.

There is action in this story, as well (sex, yes…but MC at work type action, too). A few of the dastard, which our Incoherent Motorcycle Club would ship off to hell! I'm hoping this MC group flourishes, grows, and gains strength under the watchful care of Twisted (George). I'm thinking with him at the helm and Shiny Penny at his side they'll rule their MC world.

Lastly: Po’Boy (George) needs a story. I'm hoping he’s next. It's going to take some kinda special woman to turn his head in the direction of commitment. This series has to have at least six books, just saying……..

Thank you dear authoress. I am a very happy reader for having been so entertained whist living vicariously through the lives of the characters in this book. It is indeed; a book I'll reread many times down the road.

I received a copy of this book in a giveaway and can I say one of the best gifts I have been given. MariaLisa deMora you are amazing at what you can do with words and turn them into a story that takes you so far into the characters that it is hard to tell that you are not inside their world walking side by side with the characters. This story took me a couple of chapters to fully get gripped but let me tell you after that it was hard to put this book down. This book has twists (no pun intended) and turns that you will never see coming so it keeps you on your toes. Greg Bell aka Twisted had me sitting on the fence for a while not sure whether I liked him but introduce Penny Dane aka Shiny and that man took my heart. I heard birds sing, saw only love hearts in front of my eyes and my heart only beat for him. Penny was so much and more, she was strong and fierce and knew exactly what "Bell" needed without him even speaking. He showed her what it was like to be loved. This is not your typical love story but let me tell you this is how a love story should be. The last chapter in this book had a tear or two roll down my face because we should all want to be able to experience a love like this. I would give this book TEN stars if I could. Can't wait for the next instalment of the Neither This, Nor That series.

I don't read normal books. Period.
Seriously, if there's no teeth or fur, witches or flippin fairies or ghosts or ya know.....otherness....I just don't read it.
I have a normal life....I wanna read Stephen King.
I lost a bet (thanks a lot A!) and I had to read normal...more specifically romance.
Aghhhhhhhhh!
Wasn't working for me at all!
So she suggested MC writers with hotness might be more in my wheel house. So I picked up this anthology with a short in it called 'Twisted Penny' and then I liked to went out of my mind waiting on this book.
This may be the best book I read all year.
These people...they're not characters, they're real... have stuck in my head from the day I met them.
MariaLisa deMora can throw words down that'll Twist (hehe) your insides up till you can't breathe for waiting to hear what's next!
I'm working my way through her other 'families' and yup....she really is that good.
But THIS book...THIS family....THESE men and the women who stand with them....can't breathe ML......waiting Doll so please hurry.
Treading The Traitors Path: Out Bad

I gave this book 4.5 Stars!

I was pulled into this story from the very beginning and couldn't put it down. The dishes, laundry, housework all got put on hold until I could finish this book. This is first book from MariaLisa and certainly wont be my last. The story is filled with twist, turns, darkness, and romance. The emotions will grip you and make you hold on.

Twisted is Hot, protective, dirty talking tattooed man. Penny is sweet, determine, tough and has a soft side.

Twisted was born with the odds against him. He was born in a Louisiana bordello, raised around the rough and rowdy men of motorcycle club, he's never been the lucky type. But he believes luck can change, so when fate gives him Penny, he is more than willing to push the luck as far as it can go.

Penny was raised in a can-do family. But when her past holds painful secrets, cans she trust passion this man stirs?

Cant wait to read the next book in this series, I'm totally hooked and new fan of MariaLisa's!!!!

I am a HUGE fan of MariaLisa's Rebel Wayfarer's MC series and I was super excited to read the beginning of her new series. Oh my. I fell head over heals for Twisted. She brings us all the way back to the boy who grew up in a bordello and learns some very hard lessons there. I loved that his granddaddy came to get him and showed him the family of his MC. As the years go by Twisted becomes part of the brotherhood and there is some drama along the way. Then comes Penny. I adored her. She comes from another MC family and has some trouble of her own. They connect completely outside of that and Twisted can't get her out his head. I loved that. Theirs was an all encompassing love ready to stand together and at times stand for each other. I couldn't get enough of them and wanted more when I hit the last page. I loved every bit of their story and can't wait to read more in the series.

I give Twisted Pain 5 hearts!

I was lucky to receive a copy before official release day. This was the best present ever! Bell & Penny came to me from Twisted Penny, a novella in an anthology. I couldn't wait for the rest. As I started This Is the Route of Twisted Pain, I fell in love with Bell. So protective. I saw a little of Mason in Pawpaw; doing what is best for the club and his brothers. MariaLisa deMora is a master of putting you in the scene and feeling what her characters feel. I had to stop with 81% read (I won't spoil), but I dreamed all night about possible outcomes. I got up and finished. I hope PoBoy is next.
