Following a shocking revelation from his ex-wife and her new husband, Mekhi is left with more questions than answers. Never the loser and always the winner, Mekhi won’t give up what he has worked hard to accomplish – including Rylee. Rylee has moved on to greener pastures and refuses to let her past interfere with her future. But, Mekhi is still up to his old tricks. Being the protector that he is, Zyrian has his wife’s back every step of the way. When his past tries to resurface, he has the strenuous task of staying on the right path or going astray. When secrets are reveled and friends turn into foes, who will be the last one standing? Will Mekhi let Rylee have her happily ever after or will he try to reclaim what he feels is rightfully his? Is life after Rylee complicated for Mekhi or will he maneuver through the thorns to claim his most prized possession in this final installment.
Man this series ended crazy!!!! Mannn Mekhi just got bad luck even when he try to be dirty. I still like Grim and Snake lol. The drama that was in this book topped both books!! The only reason it's not a 5 is because of the errors
Once again, Chenell Parker comes up with a best seller. This Complicated series is by far my favorite series that she's written. I absolutely LOVED it. Rylee and Zyrian's journey was well told. They both went through so many trials and tribulations before they found each other, but when they did find each other, their happiness was only beginning. That damn Rylee is the truth. She is one of very few female characters that always stayed true to who she was as a person. No matter the hurt and pain she went through, she didn't break. Zyrian was no different. He loved hard and the people that he loved, he made sure they were well taken care of. His family meant the world to him. Whether you hated or loved the supporting cast, you have to admit, whomever they were, they added great drama to this story. Mehki, what can you say about this fool other than he's gotta be one of the most hated characters ever. This fool cared only about himself and in the end, his evil ways caught up to him in the worst way. All I'm going to say is... KARMA is the coldest bitch to ever live. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but in his case, I damn sure wasn't mad about it. I want to issue a formal apology to Zyra. In the beginning, I just knew she was a snake. She proved to be a true friend to Rylee. I loved how she grew as well and finally settled down. Man, I loved me some Amber. With her scary @$$. She finally grew a backbone and stood up for herself. Oh, and once she had that conversation with Rylee and Zyra...LOL. Poor, poor Derrick. LOL. All I know is, she's about to have Derrick sucking his thumb and calling his momma to come pick him up. Of all the supporting characters, I thought there was truly something special about Janice. Even though she was a fool for Mehki, I still liked her. She was a good person with a heart of gold. Her only problem was she looked for love in all the wrong places. She thought giving her body to men freely, would make them love her. Well, she ended up giving her body to the wrong man and it cost her everything. I hate that had to be her fate because she deserved so much more. Again, I loved this series. The characters were so well developed and people that you will remember for a very long time. Thank you Chenell for bringing this series to a close with a BANG!
The title definitely explained this twisted, complicated story!! I really enjoyed the way Chenell delivered this serie . This last installment examined how lies & betrayal catches up with you and the karma was real. I loved the way Zyrian and Rylee continued to grow and I was happy for Leslie. She needed a second Chance and this installment allowed us to see her development. I felt bad for Nicole but, she made those life changing decisions that altered more lives than one. Mekhi didn't surprise me at all and I'm happy he got what he deserved. I only felt bad for Janice because she was truly a victim.
Screaming that's BAE, Zyrian is that dude and he does not play the piano. I was scared for a minute on Snake. Glad he pulled through. I really like that Buck and Rylee's cousin got together because Asis was getting on my nerves. China babyyyyyyyyy I didn't even see that coming, but Karma always comes back around. Brandy was trifling and deserved what happened to her. Mehki that is what he gets and I felt so sorry for Janice because she just wanted to be loved. Zyrian and Rylee were that couple. I am so upset this series has ended but what a ride!
Lawd Chenell, you don't play any games. Things increasingly got complicated with every turn that was made. I still loved the relationship Rylee and Zyrian shared. They seemed to be the perfect couple but had problems along the way like everyone else. Now I will say I was pissed when Rylee started talking crazy instead of having a decent conversation with Zyrian. Yeah he was wrong but she went overboard. Alright now Amber it was long overdue for her to get a backbone! I'm glad she finally got some tips but Derrick's reaction was priceless. Damn it seemed as if Mekhi would never learn his lesson. The more underhanded bs he pulled, the more complicated his life became. Janice was too nice of a person to get played but I loved how she helped Tommy. Zyra was still a trip and even though it took a while, I was glad she got to experience happiness again. Leslie and Carolyn had to learn the hard way that they couldn't treat people any kind of way and needed to depend on themselves for once. Grim and Snake were too much and had me rolling. I really wanted someone to beat China's ass for all the issues she caused! All that cheating, creeping, lying, and wanting payback caught up with the ones that stayed scheming the most. I wasn't expecting karma to come around to Mekhi the way it did but something was bound to stop him. At least he had the opportunity to make it right with Rylee and Shay. I felt so bad for Janice because she never seemed to be good enough. Lawd knows you have to be careful how you treat others because you never know what will cause them to reach their breaking point. All in all, I was happy something that was once so complicated blossomed into some getting their happily ever after.
The final installment of Complicated was sooo good! I love the growth you see in the characters. I'm glad that Mekhi got what he deserved. Karma came in and paid everybody a visit that needed it. I'm so happy for Nakia. This was a good way to end a series. Good Job Chanell
Wow, this book was absolutely crazy, but it was so good. A lot of unexpected twist. Never would have guessed that ending!!!! Chenell I love your work and will continue to support!!!
This is definitely a 5 star series. Man so much went on in this book that I don't wanna say or I will give it away, just know you will love it just as much as I did.
This book stayed true to it's titles it was definitely a complicated series and then some. Truly love the way Chenell delivery a series and the excellent way she ends them. This series was very well written and the story flow so smoothly at such a steady pace. Intrigued me from the first page of the first installment to the very end and I still want more of this authors work. Following all the lies, cheating, drama, jealousy, envy and the secrets are revealed we saw friends turn into enemies and then some. This finale installment showed so much growth and development in these characters. so glad that once again all question were answered and no issues unsolved. Glad everyone glad their happy ending and karma took care of the others. Amazing job Chenell Parker. Highly recommend this series.
This by far is my favorite series from Ms Parker. I say that because sometimes the authors get so caught up in keeping us entertained that they create scenarios that are so far fetched that it takes away from the story. This series did not do that. The characters were totally relatable and the storyline throughout the series had a real life like appeal and yet it was very entertaining. The good characters went through trials and tribulations and the bad characters caused havoc on everything and everyone around them but they all met up with karma. I ended up feeling bad for some of the worse characters. This story also made me think a lot about how with a blink of the eye, your life can change. I think everyone who enjoys reading should add this to your reading list, it's definitely a good read.
This was not my favorite from Chenell Parker. I'm started to feel the resentment in the common use of the "n" word as a form of expression. It hurt to see how Rylee used it in this series and she was only half-black. I wanted to see more in terms of character development. It was missing from this story. I wasn't overly impressed with Zyrian's maturity, either. When I heard him speak to his son at the end of the story it was painfully evident that he lacked maturity.
I' m still a fan, however, there appears to be a formula used in all of the stories I've read to date. I would like to see maturity before the characters breed. I'm just sayin...
I don't know why but I never quite hated Mekhi. Maybe it was because of his upbringing or maybe how he absolutely adored Rylee in the beginning. His cheating, conniving, swindling, and just being all around "mitch" was horrendous, but I kept finding myself feeling sorry for the poor fatherless little project boy on the inside. But I still fell in love with Zyrian and Rylee as a couple because Mekhi didn't deserve her. I also loved Zyrian's family, especially little Ziggy at the end.
CP is a master of creating characters with so many layers. It was a lot of moving pieces with this series. All of their storylines were woven together creatively. I was disappointed in Rylee and her behavior at the opening of the bar. For her and Zyra to be supposedly such upscale ladies they were often ratchet and in the mix of a whole lot of mess with all of that fighting. So overall, it was a good book. Not better than To Boston, With Love but still a good book.
This ended entirely too quick for me! I have been putting this off for a couple days now. This book was the perfect example of what it means for karma to bury you. Just read it this entire series got me in my feelings. In a good way. Sadly on of the characters did drew them short stick coupled with bad luck. Tragedy it was it was….I tear fell from my eyes. Great read Chanel Parker!!
I enjoyed this series. Part 1 was my favorite and I do feel like this book could ended in part 1 or even part 2. Nothing major happened in this last book until the end. It was like a bunch of reading for nothing and then damn near everybody died. I'm glad she didn't try to drag it out for a 4,5, etc. Overall it was a decent series.
I read all three books in about 4 days and waited until the end to write a review. These books had me laughing, sad and mad sometimes all in one chapter. This is great story writing and good characterization. A lot went on in this series and all I can say is MUST READ...
Mekhi made his life truly complicated. All the cheating, deceit, lies & bitterness. Poor Janice but she should have kept it moving once she served them papers. Now Carolyn & Leslie were the worst type of mother’s ever. So thankful Rylee knew her worth. That Ms Sara was the truth.
I read the whole series and it was so good. As soon as I finished one book, I started the next one. Ms. Parker has me hooked. I love you're books and you have become my favorite author. You have a wonderful imagination and once I start reading, I can see each of the character's in my mind. The storyline and the drama is everything!
This series was so good. I loved all the couples. Rylee and Zyrain was a great couple who were able to get pass all there problems. I was hoping that Mehki had the chance to change his life. His ending really made me feel sad. Overall, a great series. I have read a few from this author and she doesn’t disappoint.
I’m sad to see these characters leave. I love me some Zyrian and Rylee the cutest couple ever. I’m glad that rylee got her happily ever after. Mekhi did everyone so dirty and look what happen to him it was sad but karma came around and took him out. Great ending to a series..
This series took me through a lot of different emotions. I laughed, cried, got mad, and fell in love with the characters. What I like the most is that most of them had a certain level of growth. This series was definitely worth the read, would recommend. I’ll miss these guys❤️
I loved all three of the books but I think this was my fav. Although I was lil surprised by the ending for all the characters it was def a great read. I am looking forward to reading more of your work.
I truly was not expecting so much sadness towards the end but KARMA is truly something. This book really makes you reflect on life choices. I found this o be more realistic than a lot of urban series
I read all three books of Complicated and I did enjoy it like the others. All the characters got what they deserved. I try not to be a spoiler so I would say just read the book starting at part 1
