Rate this book
You're elated that you are finally nearing "The End" on your debut book, but the sinking feeling that you don't have a strategy for marketing your masterpiece is seeping in. "The Aspiring Author's Guide: Write Your Marketing Strategy" is designed to walk first-time authors-to-be through the process of designing their own marketing strategy.

Now, you can write your own book marketing strategy in one day (four two-hour sessions) and sell your debut book with informed confidence. Armed with a strategy, you will:
- Avoid social media time suck.
- Know what you want to say.
- Ditch that sleazy sales guy feeling.
- Understand who your readers are and how you go about connecting with them.

Four easy exercises will help writers think strategically about their audience and their soon-to-be published book. They help you focus on why you wrote a book in the first place and why you are the only person who could string those words together in that order for the purpose of your story. The "Why" paves the way for a recipe of marketing tactics that fit comfortably into your lifestyle. Ultimately, this means that each author’s marketing strategy is unique to him or her.

C.T. Luna is a marketing communications professional, who shares with you the very exercises she designed for establishing her own book marketing strategy.

Write Your Marketing Strategy… Made Easy!

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review. As an aspiring author, about to publish my first book, I can say with certainty that the author covers a lot of the critical aspects needed in order to be a successful author. An excellent book if you are a new author starting out and clueless about where to start. It’s packed with tips and exercises to really help you focus and map out a marketing strategy that will work for you. The author has really done the heavy lifting… you just need to settle down and follow her lead. Definitely worth adding this to your collection if you are trying to kick-start your writing career.

Great for People with no Marketing Experience!
This guide is really helpful for people who don't know where to begin with setting up a marketing strategy. These days, with so many apps and tools on the market, it can be hard to figure out where to start.
In her book, C.T. Luna has put together exercises that are easy to follow and do not require much more than a pad, a pen and a little imagination. I will definitely recommend this book to writers who plan on marketing their books in the future.

I received a free copy of this book with no obligation to post a review but felt I should as the book was so helpful and packed full of tips and broader perspectives on marketing ideas that had whizzed through my mind, the book managed to help me channel my energy and create a strategy.

One of the other things I enjoyed was the comfort level. Being an indie is hard, it's a slog and there are times when many of us question just what we are doing. This book manages to remind me (I reference this book many times) that this is a temporary mental state we all go through as indie authors and inserts some positivity to get me back on track; it's motivational, it gives a little hug, then kicks you up the back side and tells you to get back to work.

I can't believe how much I didn't know about marketing. I guess that's what they mean when they say you don't know what you don't know. Well, I sure am glad somebody knows and put it all in a neat little book for me! Easy to understand. Easy to follow. Easy to do. Now if I could only get myself focused on it, it willall be good.

The Aspiring Author's Guide: Write Your Marketing Strategy by C.T. Luna was a very useful, easy to understand, and informative read. I'm not big on social media; in fact I'm kind of anti-social media, but this book was useful in that it explored the authors opinions about the practical usages for social media and how it can be used to further ones author platform, gaining recognition, marketing/promoting your book, and creating a fanbase/following. Getting ones book out there is the hard part, so it was cool to read about how one should go about it. I found a lot of her advice to be useful, and have gained a wider understanding (I hope) of the self-publishing process. She seemed to know what she was talking about too, which is nice. Often times, I get the feel that a few authors don't always grasp the subjects they write about, especially in these kinds of genres. It felt like she did, however.

The book was aimed at aspiring authors and was helpful to understand the early process of setting up a strategy/game plan, in terms of getting published marketing and selling product. I am now reconsidering my being so anti-social, and hopefully, when it comes time to publish (self publish or otherwise) I might at least have a general concept about how to go about it. I will look forward to reading more of C.T. Luna's books in the future. In fact, she often referred to her own "chick-lit" novel and after doing a quick search, I'm not sure if it has yet been released. Although I can't say that chick-lit is really my thing, I'd still like to check it out. It'd be cool to see how this concept works out for her as far as her own writing career. I'm thankful this book was released as a freebie! I will read over it again and try to create my own strategy based on the many helpful ideas. Many thanks to the author!

A good read, especially if you are an aspiring author trying to get out there and not sure where to start. This book is filled with useful ideas.

An Absolute Must-Have for Aspiring Authors.

With its well-thought exercises, this book will help you set a pretty awesome marketing strategy, which includes defining your audience and planning ahead. It will also show you how to get an overview of a book’s market situation, kind of like seeing a forest from above. It's not an approach you find in many similar books, and it shows that the author really knows what she's talking about. An absolute must-have!

It’s not a how-to book, though, and sometimes it will lean a bit too much toward an ineffable, inspirational approach, kind of what you’d find on self-help books. I find that cool, but not exactly what I prefer in my education books. Still, The Aspiring Author’s Guide will certainly help all newbie and to-be authors set their goals and get where they want!

I'd definitely read more from this author, and I'm looking forward to next installments.

Very valuable tips and tools. Easy to use and fun to read!
I find the content extremely useful and enjoyable. I felt like Cynthia was holding my hand as I walked through each step. It was very clear what to do, how to do it and why it is important to do it. I would be thrilled to read more books by Cynthia! Feel very lucky to have gotten such great content for free just because I am a reader of her blog. This book would definitely be worth paying for.

This was most helpful as I find myself swimming in the marketing pool with weight on my feet doing the doggie paddle! But seriously, I truly appreciate the time and effort you devoted to provide information and a how to approach that is set up like 1-2-3. I wanted to read the free book and post a review so did not go through all the exercises required but I will because it is necessary to go from where I am to where I want to be! I found myself at times getting lost, but did follow notebook suggestions. It's quite a bit to grasp when I've been pretty much away from social media up until recently. But you made the information manageable. Folks this is definitely a how to book and a good one at that. Pick up a copy. You won't regret it. It will be like having a secret marketing weapon! Onward and all the best, Jackie
