This is the second book I have read from Ava Kendrick and it was a very different kind of love story.
Cleo - was attacked and left to die in her apartment after an apparent robbery. She has no memory of the time before the attack that left her in a coma for a month. When she wakes up she finds her boyfriend disappeared on her and she is now homeless and jobless. She moves in with her best and tries to move on with her life taking one day at a time. When she meets a handsome stranger everything changes. She decides to live in the now throw caution to the wind and have a little fun. Too bad her heart gets in the way.
Roman - Is not a good guy, so when he sees Cleo across a crowded bar he does everything he can to avoid the tempting beauty. He felt a powerful connection to her like he was destined to be the man to protect her. In a crazy twist, he ends up being the man she should be afraid of. But he can't resist her and they fall into a comfortable relationship that he knows can't last.
Cleo is betrayed by every man she has ever known. When Roman betrays her trust it's hard for her to believe he truly loves her. Roman does everything possible to keep her safe even from himself. I loved how their love story came together at the end. The twists and turns throughout the book kept me on my toes.
Definitely worth the read, great romantic suspense.

I’m a huge dark book lover!!! And I fell hard for Cleo and Roman’s story!!! It’s twisted, suspenseful and super sexy! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it. You fill find yourself falling for tough as nails Roman and his lethal ways!!! And while he’s dark and brooding, you will see there’s a heart under it all!!

After a slow start, I ended up enjoying Tall, Dark & Lethal more than I expected to. Although it has an insta-love factor that I'm not a fan of, the characters more than made up for the fact that they both needed someone in their lives right that minute.
Roman is a man with a past, one that he still can't seem to get away from. His current job keeps those memories fresh in his mind. Along with the memories, the job also keeps Roman to himself. Not out looking for friends or god forbid, a girlfriend. Not to say the guy doesn't get lonely, however ladies of the night are a perfect fit for that.

She was trouble from across the bar, but of course Roman was thinking with the wrong head. His little head didn't sense trouble, only a beautiful woman. Cleo has lost everything, including who she is and what happened to her. After a serious smack on the head leaves her in a coma, she is celebrating her complete loss of a normal life with her bestie at the same bar as Roman.

Let the crazy train leave the station. Not only are we following the quick relationship of these two, you could see from a mile away what happened to Cleo, and for me, it came down to turning the pages fast enough to see how it would all pan out.
The book is well written from dual points of view and gets sexy as hell. Ava Kendrick did a nice job at balancing the romance, action as well as steam, to keep the story moving right along. The book reads as a standalone with a nice epilogue, however I see it's the first in a series. Wonder which bad boy will be next?

Roman is a scorching hot insurance salesman. Well, that's what he's trying to sport. However, there's more to him than his gorgeous looks and boring suit. He's someone darker, yet he's very determined to keep it from the normal world he's trying to fit in.
When Roman's steel blue eyes first laid on Cleo, he knew he needed to have her and protect her, but he doesn't do the usual romance relationship. He's experienced far too many troubles in life to give love a chance. Will Cleo be able to make Roman change his mind, even though love doesn't have a place in the underworld?
Tall, Dark and Lethal is my first ever read from Ava Kendrick. And wow, she just gave me one reading experience that I usually don't get to have!
I used to shy away from dark reads, but as I explore more books, I realized that authors who write this genre have a really brilliant mind. Kendrick was able to write the book so well. It's intelligently plotted, and the characters were well-made.
The twists and suspense of this book will excite the hell out of all readers!
All in all, it was a hot and a very exciting journey with Roman and Cleo! Can't wait to read more from Ava Kendrick!

There is something about the situation between Cleo and Roman that almost spoke to me.
Two people who to all intents and purpose should have nothing in common, no desire to be together but find it impossible to be apart.
Cleo was the proverbial doormat so to speak, the perfect girlfriend, the perfect everything but where did thatg get her – nowhere because when she was in need the most, the person she would have thought she could count on was nowhere to be seen.
Roman knew that Cleo was his more, from the minute he laid eyes on her and the author did a superb job of expressing just how much that threw him. His confusion was palpable, I mean thinking of more than a quick fumble between the sheets is not his normal operating style but his heart knew Cleo was special before his brain had even caught up.
Roman was Cleo’s kick back, or should I say kick start. It was as if he brought out a different side to her, one that she had suppressed for far too long but would what they have be the perfect mix or was it like throwing oil onto a bonfire, were they both set to get burned?
There were a number of unexpected events dotted through the book and not everything is what it seems and I must admit I found the element of anticipation was built to an absolute crescendo, the author had a handle on just when to hand over each and every little titbit was on the money!
I liked Cleo but most of all liked who she became when she was with Roman. I loved his strength, his desire to protect her at all costs, he may have been a moody, dangerous SOB but he smouldered from each and every page.

This is the first book I've read by this author, and it won't be my last. Cleo has woken up from a coma after a brutal attack, and she can't remember any of it. She's lost her apartment, her job, and her boyfriend vanished while she was in the hospital. Cleo is over being the good girl, as it hasn't gotten her anywhere, so she's decided she's going to do something wild for once. The night she spots Roman at the bar she's at, is the night she realizes she's never wanted anyone as badly as him. When Roman spots Cleo, he instantly knows she is different from just a hook up, so he quickly disappears. With his dark life, he knows he can't have her, but he can't get her out of his head either. When she finds him again, they decide to go for it, but will he be able to protect her when her past and his job collide?
WOW! This was an exciting, edge of your seat story. The character development is good, with a great cast of secondaries. A suspenseful, intense, and well written storyline flows smoothly. Sizzling chemistry ignites into SCORCHIN' HOT sexy scene goodness, while the path to love is intense and rocky. Ava Kendrick does a great job writing twists and turns that made for awesome OMG moments, while keeping my heart racing cover to cover. My one issue, is that the ending seemed rushed after the heart pounding journey I just experienced. I can't wait to read more of this authors work though, so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Roman. Hell this guy is one hot SOB. Brooding, dark, lethal. He oozes sex appeal, it ripples off him so much you cant help but feel it with every turn of the page. He leads a dark & dangerous life. He has lived through a tragedy of epic proportion & knows the price love brings. He cannot allow himself to fall. Until Cleo.
Roman is Cleo's new brave beginning. Her attraction to him is off the chart & she wants him more than anyone she has ever met before. She becomes strong, passionate, daring. She cant get enough of him. Cleo is everything he wants, desires, lusts for, but also the one person who manages to break through his walls & fight his shadows. He knows loving her is lethal - for them both, that protecting her will be the hardest thing he will ever do. Love certainly comes at a price.
A great story by Ava Kendrick. I totally lost myself in this story, the pace was perfect, the twists & turns added many unexpected edges& allowed the characters to really develop

Tall, Dark & Lethal by Ava Kendrick was a first time read for me. Ava Kendrick did a great job writing this story; it captivated my attention right away. The characters in this story were easy to like. Tall, Dark & Lethal is a highly emotional story about a girl named Cleo who woke up from a coma after a brutal attack, and she can't remember any of it. She's lost her apartment, her job, and her boyfriend vanished while she was in the hospital. Cleo is over being the good girl, as it hasn't gotten her anywhere, so she's decided she's going to do something wild for once. The night she spots Roman at the bar she's at, is the night she realizes she's never wanted anyone as badly as him. When Roman spots Cleo, he instantly knows she is different from just a hook up, so he quickly disappears. With his dark life, he knows he can't have her, but he can't get her out of his head either. Both lead characters, Cleo and Roman had chemistry between that was very steamy and hot. What I loved about Cleo and Roman was their carefree relationship. I Absoluty loved the book, once I started reading it did not want to stop reading it. I would defiantly recommend this 5 star book to all my friends who read the same types of books I do.

Tall, Dark & Lethal is dark, steamy ride to an awesome HEA! Ava Kendrick's story grabbed me in the first chapter and didn't let go until the very end...with a lot of twists and turns along the way!
Cleo is a sexy, smart CPA who wakes up from a coma after a devastating attack, having no memory of who did this or why! After getting out of the hospital to discover she has lost everything...her home, her job and the so-called boyfriend she had been living with. Cleo decides to shake things up and shed her "good-girl" image and let out her inner tigress!
Roman is a deliciously dark, gorgeous "insurance salesman" who meets Cleo at a neighborhood bar. The sparks fly, the chemistry is out-of-bounds, but Roman doesn't do "relationships"...just hit and run sex! But his heart is telling him he has met a kindred soul and when he and Cleo hook up, it's the beginning of the end for both! The sex is electrifying and neither can get enough!!
As things progress, Cleo starts to remember things that make no sense to her! It takes a shocking event to bring all of her memories back and OMG, I didn't see it coming!
I still can't believe the jaw-dropping twists! I highly recommend this well written, fast-paced book to everyone! A solid 4.5 stars for this one!

Cleo is a smart, funny, intelligent woman recovering from a suspected robbery at her home that left her in a coma for a month. While she is trying to get her life back even though having lost everything, she isn't quite sure how or what to do, she just knows that she doesn't want to be the old Cleo.Meet Roman who is one hot as hell guy dark, brooding and looks lethal, the sex appeal ripples off him so much you can't help but feel it. His life is a dark & dangerous one and he has lived through a huge tragedy and knows the price love brings, he won't allow himself to fall.......... Until Cleo. This is Cleo's new beginning her attraction to him is so obvious and she wants him more than anyone she has ever met before, she really can't get enough of him. Cleo is everything he would want/desires, lusts for in a different life. He now knows loving her is deadly - for them both in more ways than you could imagine and protecting her will be the hardest thing he will ever do and at what price.

4 Roman Star Read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really really enjoyed this book the story was great it was intriguing and kept me guessing throughout. The whole plot was a fantastic idea and the characters well thought out , the only complaint I have is I didn't buy into the whole best of hitmen Roman up against a gangster, Roman to me didn't come off as a real bad ass alpha or tall dark and lethal, he was good but not that good lol although I liked what he did in the end because I really thought he was going to do it.

An accident so they say but is it a good thing or bad thing to want to remember. A memory on the verge of apex of solving a mystery. This memory may be one that pulls the final pin. Tall, dark and deadly may not be as safe as she hoped. He may just be the deadly trap she wanted to avoid.
Anything that can make me laugh and keep me in suspense deserves five stars. will be adding htis author to my favorite list. Brisk, thrilling and priceless.

This was my second book by this author I really enjoyed Vince Charming and am impressed by this book as well. The story line was something a little different Cloe gets mugged in a home invasion and her boyfriend dumps her while she is in hospital. She gets out of the Hospital and goes to have drinks with her friend where she meets Roman. Chloe wants him, but he walks away. After that she goes after him until they get together. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.

Took awhile; but worth the wait!
Roman & Cleo sure took their time making their sizzlefest of a relationship happen( but damn when a drunken Cleo finally took matters into her own hands, things really took off Blood, sex & murder! Wow

3.5☆. This book was an enjoyable read. I liked the story and the characters. It wasn't very deep and the plot was fairly obvious but never the less I enjoyed the escapism of it.
