Christmas has finally come and gone but the holiday rush isn’t through. A florist’s work is never done as Quincy McKay can attest to. She’s juggling responsibilities last minute brides, her future mother-in-law, her handsome fiancés job, and a new pup who might have gulped down her engagement ring. And now she’s judging the New Year’s Jubilee cook off contest.
After contestants start having “accidents” that knock them out of the running, Quincy becomes more than a little curious. When the accidents befall her friends and family, she decides to investigate. With the help of her side kick, her dog and a zombie delivery van, Quincy might find the culprit before the accidents become deadly and if she’s lucky, before the Jell-O has had time to set.
Annie Adams is the author of THE FINAL ARRANGEMENT, book one in The Flower Shop Mystery series. She lives with her husband, two giant dogs, and two too giant cats in Northern Utah at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains. When not writing she can be found arranging flowers or delivering them in her own Zombie Delivery Van.
Quincy is trying to get flowers done for several weddings. In the mean time her future in laws arrive and make tings interesting.
Some of the Jubilee’s contestants are getting sick is it from a rival who always wins or something more sinister?
Will she find her engagement ring or will she have to tell Alex she lost it?
A fun cozy that has the right romance on the side. There were some funny moments and I was kept guessing until the end what was going on and who did what.
Quincy makes it through until Christmas with her new fiancé and his parents, but her engagement ring is missing. Search of her home and shop come up empty. Even a smelly check to see if her puppy ate them, turns up empty. However, people who are known competitors in the towns cooking categories are having a bad week and she has a panicked bride for New Year’s Eve as well. Can they make it through it all and get the in-laws to e gone before anyone notices the missing ring? This is another great book from Annie Adams.
I love this whole sweet little series. Sometimes it’s hard to find books without gratuitous sex and language, and when I need something to read between psychological thrillers and deep, twisty “if you liked ‘Gone,Girl’ then you’ll love this” type books, this is the perfect breath of fresh air. I love Quincy and her family and friends. You can read the series from start to finish or just pick one up and it stands alone fine. Very nice, quick reads.
I thoroughly enjoyed this Quincy McKay mystery. There are lots of twists and surprises and some angst with her budding relationship with the detective Alex Cooper. The characters in this book are quite eclectic. Many moments are filled with humor as well due to the characters. The author has created a terrific series. A five star book!
Q as he calls her and Alex are the most adorable couple, we all would have like for a courtship like them. Slow and sweet. Way to go Annie a excellent series. I
New Years brings new beginnings and one in this town is to have a contest in multiple food categories to raise money to help those less fortunate. How desperate can one become to win the blue ribbon for their creation? A fun must read in this series.
Another glimpse into the life of Quincy McKay, owner of Rosie's Posies in Ten Commandments, Utah. Quincy, or Q as her fiance Mac calls her, has been known to solve mysteries as well as run a successful flower shop. But who would think at Christmas time, with her future in-laws visiting, there would be so many non-flower things demanding her attention? Between loosing her engagement ring (and some funny searching) and preparing for multiple weddings, she manages to save a life, help an injured friend, and more. Ms Adams writes a delightful series about Q, and this is one more to add to the list of fun books. It keeps your interest as the clues mount up, and if you are like me, you will worry about a missing engagement ring the whole book as well. I look forward to the next adventure of Q and Rosie's Posies with her Zombie delivery van and dog named Jerome.
This is a fun short cozy with a bit of romance. Quincy is determined to find out why there are so many incidents happening to the contestants who will be competing a t the Jubilee. Some could have been life threatening but for the insistence of her dog Jerome, who literally dragged her to the scene of two of them. . As she is investigating the incidents, she is also prepping for a few weddings, searching desperately for her missing engagement ring and celebrating the holidays.
Once again a murderous (or almost murderous in this case) plot is afoot and Quincy is on the case. I love being able to continue this series as though it never ended, but it makes for a great standalone as well. Annie Adams masterful mind was able to once again create a dastardly delicious story full of humor, intrigue, and fuzzy feelings.
Quincy is trying to figure out why the top contestants of the jubilee are dropping out. They are getting hurt or sick and it just doesn't seem like a coincidence. Meanwhile, her future in-laws are still in town and she seems to have lost her engagement ring. Can she solve both mysteries and still handle 2 New Year's wedding orders?
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a short cozy mystery that revisits Quincy McKay and her quirky friends and neighbors. It takes place around the Christmas and New Year's holiday and the town Jubilee Celebration.
I recommend this quirky and cozy mystery for a short funny read.
I finished "Deadly Arrangements" yesterday and read "Flowers, Food, and Felonies at the New Year's Jubilee" today. Similar to my short review of "Deadly Arrangements," I like the characters, but I find the grammatical errors jarring, unpleasant and distracting, so I can't get into the story as much as I'd like.
This is part of the Happy Homicide collection. What a great surprise to find it picked up where the last book I read by Annie Adams left off. I really enjoyed catching up with Quincy, her friends and family. Very enjoyable.
This was a short, cute continuation of the series. Something is always a foot in Quincy's town and she always ends up solving it. The whole gang is there and he cute little helper, Jerome.
I like the characters, the humor and having a story with a mystery that isn't a murder. I don't mind murder mysteries but this is a nice change. Quincy reminds me of Stephanie Plum but not as racy. Just a good, fun read.
